I found this video on youtube. Be careful with the device. Here is the link

Luckily I've also read (on here, I think) about someone who's z3c fell from a microwave oven onto the counter and then immediately onto a hard floor and it didn't have a scratch, so it's not like the glass is guaranteed to break.
But I will probably get me one of those crystal-clear hard cases when I buy a z3c
Mine suffered its first drop today, from about pocket height onto tile. Not a scratch. I can't even tell where it hit. I plan on going caseless, but buying a Worth Ave Group insurance policy for it.
this can happen to almost any device. A bad landing and it's gone. Others get dropped again and again without problems.
I always thought that the people moaning about the shatter-proof film were idiots. I have never had a problem with the shatter-proof film on my Z1 Compact and have dropped it several times. (I also installed the screen protector over the shatter proof film).
An even better solution I think is a phone design like the old Motorola RAZRm / RAZRi -- I think it is the best design style of any phone out there (and much better than the more recent Google-influenced Motorola designs). This phone has a metal rim at the edge which protruded slightly above the screen, giving it that extra bit of protection as well as preventing accidental touches to the screen. It also has a kevlar back so strong and grippy (not crappy glass that shatters and is slippy), and I've dropped the RAZRi more times than I can remember any only came away with scratches. It also has a nice ergonomic wedge design -- just such a pity that Motorola abandoned this design.

Question is. How many manufacturers have made cases for our Z3 Compact mobiles?
According to this, the Z3C has front and rear Gorilla Glass as well
http://www.wired.co.uk/reviews/mobile-phones/2014-09/sony-xperia-z3-compact
Not shatter proof, but good to know they haven't cheaped out

I wonder where they got that information though?
No idea, but Wired is reputable. Many of the other reviews also mention Gorilla Glass, though they don't specify if it's rear as well.
I guess Corning's marketing just works out so well that "Gorilla Glass" is widely used as a synonym for tempered glass. Anyway, I sent them a mail, maybe they'll back up that claim with a source.
Somebody on another thread mentioned Dragontrail glass which is similar I believe
Hello all,
So I recently purchased a Note 4. I have to admit that the device looks gorgeous, and I can't decide if I should put a case on it or not. What do you guys prefer and why?
I use s view as my case and it still look weel
Note 4 easy to get scratch so i decide to get a case.
How well does the S view case work, and is it worth the money?
I use a case. Doesn't look near as nice but feel it's needed to be safe. A good case is like insurance, you might not need it but if something happens you can't get it after the fact.
That's actually a good way of putting it. Thanks a bunch.
Being such a costly device I also wanted a cover, but was afraid to ruin the feeling of the phone.
First had a S-View cover, but that just made the phone awkward to hold. and really just easier to drop if you try to take pictures because the flap have to hang down or sideways...
then bought a samsung protective cover, best cover I had on a phone. it made the phone ever better to hold and doesn't add so much bulk. I really recommend you give it a try.

Got the Rinke slim tpu case from Amazon. After buying the s-view case which is horribly awkward and a bulky case from caseology I find the Rinke slim case amazing.
I always use a case. I usually resell my phones or trade them in and you can get a lot more for a mint-condition device than one covered in wear & tear. Also, I like being able to dress up my phone in different "outfits", haha.
I have the purple tech 21case ffrom T-Mobile along with a few others that I got from the accessory shops here in Dallas. Right now my N4 is wearing a purple & blue imitation otterbox, its very cute & extremely protective

White Ringke Slim and screen protector, sometimes S-View case
Sent from my SM-N910T using XDA Free mobile app
So my girlfriend dropped her S7 Edge from waist high in a Caseology case and the screen shattered. Upsetting because of all the drop test videos we've watched with multiple drops much harder than her phone hit and without a case.
I have a Unicorn Beatle Pro case and I've dropped mine at least a dozen times and no cracks. Those Caseology cases slip off too easy to consider it as protection .

Unlucky. Perfect impact can always cause this. Doubt it was any kind of manufacturing defect but that's always possible too.
Ouch
Seems expensive to repair. I use a very thin case (Spigen thin Fit) but I never drop my phone. But if (or when) it happen, it's a matter of luck, I guess.
Im using tempered glass and leather case its so expensive to dropping and makeing crash test 4 me
It's all in how they land. You could drop a phone multiple times without any problem, but then someone else drops there and it hits just right and shatters. Sucks, though. Sorry to see this.
From what I can see the case has a very small lip, which doesn’t keep the screen far off the ground, that combined with it landing on what appears to be at least 3 stones (the small impact points), makes it so the screen would shatter no matter what. You can have the best piece gorilla glass and case, but if you drop a phone screen down, on rocks, nothing will protect it.
Sucks though, maybe the vendor has some kind of grace period and will replace it for you. If they repair it, keep in mind that the IP68 rateing will no longer apply.

It does look like it hit rocks. It hit smooth hard surface.
For the record, I do have a matte back protector applied to the phone, so the Glow is actually pretty dulled out. But I imagine it would Shine a lot more if my phone was naked underneath the case.
I've been looking for a clear-backed case to show off the Aura Glow but most of them are a little too flimsy, scratch too easily, and leave watermarks on the clear back especially when using a skin.
The raised buttons on the sides are responsive. There's plenty of camera protection and the S-pen is easily accessible. The case just feels solid.
I had the Ringke Fusion and the Fusion X, neither one seemed to really provide much protection from a drop. Similar to the Spigen Hybrid, a little too flimsy for any serious drop protection.
I tried the Otterbox Clear and the back would scratch easily. The clear sides will probably discolor after a while as well.
The UAG Plyo is too thin for my tastes, and the back also scratches really easily.
This one is a winner for me in terms of a clear style case.
It also doesn't lift my glass screen protector.
I still think it's a bit expensive, but it feels solid without feeling bulky.

I used the blue fusion x as my first case. Felt flimsy in comparison.
It's a good case for $10 but not much more. It's still sitting in my stack of cases never to be used again.
Mine arrives in the post today. Also got a clear matte skin so hopefully should look aight
I have the ash one on my Aura black, probably my favorite case so far.
Oh man! It looks great!!! I like these UAG cases a lot, I am waiting for mine, ice color, I had the ash for my beloved note 8, but over time, you can notice tiny scratches, which do not on the ice color
Hi All-
I want to share my thoughts on Torras clear cases and wireless charging pad. I found the company while looking for a case for my iPhone. I've use their thin hard plastic case and silicone cases which are great. I'd like to make a request from them to make these type cases for our Note's haha... Anyway I received 3 soft tpu cases for review which I'm trying for first time. We have one all clear it's soft tpu similar to the Ringke air I've use previously. It keeps the phone slim while showing off colors.. My favorite is the blue trim case which matches great with blue phone. They also sent me a black trim which I've seen with the white and aura colors nice combo.. All cutouts are aligned perfectly and easy access to S pen. Also the camera cutout gives it nice protection. My only gripe with clear cases is fingerprints. It's better than phone naked but I find myself wiping them on many occassions. I have not found a clear case to cure my OCD with keeping it fingerprint free haha..... Screen lip is slim I would prefer a little higher while placing phone screen face down but on par with other slim cases. I've not dropped my phone but I think these are good for keeping scratches away and will survive a minor drop ..I will report back once I've used them for a longer period. So far good I've been using 3 weeks switching between them, Lastly the wireless charging pad. It has fast wireless 15W with QC 3.0 adapter and it gets the job done nicely. No issues with phone heating up. I like the bottom has a grippy ring so on my table it doesn't slide. It's well made and easy drop and charge. I also like the brick included with a solid overall package . Anyway you can check specs yourself. Thanks for your time if you've made it this far along my post. [emoji16]
