Can anyone change for me apk name Samsung Notes to > Notes in polish? Instead of Notatki Samsung just simple: Notatki. I know it is not very complicated. There's a file in res/values-pl called strings and all i have to do is delate one word, but for some reason cannot install the apk after that simple name change.
Apk can be downloaded from: apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/samsung-notes/samsung-notes-1-3-01-3-release/samsung-notes-1-3-01-3-android-apk-download/download/
Thank you in advance :good:

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this post. I have spent the last 2 hours looking for an answer to this. What is the easiest and best way to edit xml files to change font color in the theme i am working on. I cannot find a method that works. I have tried a few of the big name xml editors out there and they wont even open the files. I would like to be able to open and edit them on my computer. I used 7zip to pull the individual xml's i wanna exit out and into their own folder. Now i just need a way to edit them, then use 7zip to put them back into the Framework.res apk. Thanks in advance for any help.

i wondered this too as i was learning how to theme, first you have to decompile the .apk i was advised to use notepad++ on windows, use apktool located in your tools folder of sdk to decompile and then open your xmls in notepad++ then after you're done editing use the command window to use apktool build > the directory of ur decompiled .apk

You can't just pull them with 7zip, you have to decompile the apk the xml files are in and then you can simply use notepad++ or any xml editor to edit them.
Use APK Manager to decompile and recompile.

You can also use apkmanager. This makes editing xml's and any images a breeze...

Wow, put up a post, go to bed, wake up and all my answers are here. Thanks a lot guys for the info and quick responses. I think i can figure it out with all the info you have supplied. Thanks again
Apkmanager ended up being my favorite method. But use version 4.8, I had issues with 4.9 not compiling apk's properly.
Apkmanager lets you pull apk's, extract, compile, zipalign, sign, and push them back to your device.
I have been trying the apk manager and have not been able to get it to work. I pull the framework-res.apk from my theme with 7zip. Then put in the folder for modding in the manager folder. Then decompile. Edit in the projects folder as per instructions for apk manager. Then when i am done i recompile, sign and put into the theme again with 7zip. I get an error everytime with recompiling it, but it lets me continue to the end anyway, so i tried it out and it made my phone bootloop on install. So i had to sbf and start over. I get the same errors everytime, has to do with the .9 patch files i think. Too many errors to list in other words.
Read the log file. All the pngs with problems that have issues are listed at the beginning. Also, if there are extra pngs that are not used by the framework then remove them.
Tip. Open the log.txt clear it and save. When done and you get it to compile, don't sign it (its a system apk and does not require it. Then after it is successfully compiled. Unzip it, delete the meta folder and android.manifest file.
Copy the meta folder and android.maifest from the original apk and drop them into the newly compiled apk, and then tada...
Working framework.
FYI: The pngs with issues, just decompile the original framework and use those same pngs to correct your .9.pngs. (.9.pngs use the border for formatting, so duplicate the border in the ones you goofed up).

Dear brothers :
I installed a custom ROM for my phone samsung Galaxy young GT-S5360
Dedicated Roman Information :
ROM Name:
Hyperion - Titan of the East
Build number:
Hyperion.DXLF2
I did not like the icons
How do I change the entire Icons
You experience a number of applications such as :
ICON CHANGER PRO
Did not do any good
Mentioned application does change the icons and put a shortcut on the desktop
I do not want this
I want to change application icons on the home screen
How so .?
Decompile the application you want to change the icon of with apk tool
You can see what the icon name is in the Android manifest
The icon itself will be located in res/drawable-ldpi
An easier way might be to download an icon pack (search the theme section)
Then open the Flashable zip & find the app name you are looking for - open that folder & put the image you want in there replacing the image in the folder (rename your image to match the one you are replacing)
Then flash it in cwm with system mounted

download that icon pack
open it with winrar or any other unzipper
goto the unpack folder
in there you will find a list of folders that relate to the applications - eg Calendar
open the res folder and replace the image in there with the one you want making sure your image has the same file name as the one you are replacing
once done delete any folders to apps you dont want to replace
flash the zip in cwm with system mounted

I'm guessing you didn't mount system before flashing the zip
Remember you also need to be rooted & most likely need to be deodexed (most custom roms are already)

Anyone found a way to use its own fonts, not necessarily those from LG Smart World?
Sent from my LG-H870DS using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Without rooting idk how it would be possible
While I don't have an LG phone (I am still considering buying a G6), I downloaded an LG font APK uploaded by another XDA user, and it seems that APKs can be decompiled using 7-Zip, so theoretically, I could decompile the APK, replace the font.ttf with another font's "regular" variant (like Comic Neue), then edit the rest of the APK contents in Android Studio, and recompile the APK. Again, I don't have an LG phone, so I haven't tried this yet.
File listing:
Code:
SJsecret_LG_Font_v1.2.apk:
assets/font.dat
assets/font.ttf
assets/font.xml
META-INF/HY-FONTA.RSA
META-INF/HY-FONTA.SF
META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
res/drawable/icon.png
AndroidManifest.xml
classes.dex
resources.arsc
Would you like a tester?

I would be willing to test your theory out if you could build the apk. I would provide the specific font I would like to try out.
I have asked this from LG customer support and they replied there is no published way to create own font apk's.
I have also extracted font apk and there is this font.dat file which has unknown format. So even if you replace ttf with your own version and somehow manage to compile apk again, this dat file prevents installing the new font.

No, can't do
This would be a great challenge for all brilliant developers here:
Grab all fonts from LG Smartworld, extract font.dat from them and try to figure out what is the file format. Then create a tool which generates new font.dat, font.xml for any given ttf file and pack them to a new apk.
I searched a lot on my rooted galaxy s4 for webview.db file to retrieve some important password which is very important. I went to through "/data/data/" directory but there is no folder named "/data/data/com.android.browser/databases/". But I found "/data/data/com.android.browser.provides/databases/" and there is no webview.db file.
Can you guys please tell me where can I find webview.db file?
