I have the note 3, and off course I want it to run smoothly and have good battery life. However, when I tried some roms and kernels, none seemed to work with magisk and pokemon go, which I want. I tried different tricks to solve this problem, but none worked. So, which rom and kernel can I use to make sure pokemon works, but still maybe use a rom thats better then the samsung original one?
You should retitle your thread to the question asked.
To rom that works with pokmon as your title.
You could read thread posted 7 june as well.
Your thread title asks a question that has been answered multiple times. No best rom or kernel.
Eleo posted this on another thread .
You need to read and search ("pokemon go") in magisk thread in XDA.

Hello. I searched the forum but didn't really find an answer.
I was until 5 minutes ago with the MIUI rom. I know the last kernel I flashed was the cyanogenmod kernel (which I used with another rom...can't remember which one because I flashed 5 roms in 1 day).
I wanted today to abandon MIUI because I was having problems with the display timeout...and some other things, compatibility with applications and details were not really good for me.
So I flashed now the rcmixhd, downloaded from rom manager. What kernel should I use?
And....is a kernel independent from the rom? Will a rom not work with the proper kernel?
*deep breath*
By going through the kernel threads, reading about them, seeing what others say then choosing a few to try, add them, try them, make a decision, keep one.
Just like your radio question and your ROM question it comes down to two things:
1. Your particular hardware capabilities - Some devices like some kernels better than others.
2. What YOU want from the kernel and how much YOU think it's the best one for YOUR situation / wants / needs etc.
Only YOU can decide what one YOU like the most subject to them working ok with your particular handset (this is particularly true for overclocking).
As a rule of thumb, if you're not fussed about over-clocking or BFS vs CFS etc. then what ever kernel the ROM creator advises.
Now please, pretty please, use the link in my sig to find more in depth answers as this question has been asked too many times already.
You don't pick the kernel, the kernel picks you.
Well I will tell you this I'm not a developer but I am experienced in roms, the rom that I found worth it all is Ditto note 3 as if you are looking for a Note 3 and Samsung galaxy S5 for note 2 (and their theme and all of their features), keep in mind that it has minor problems that can be solved if you search the forum (Agni kernel is capable to solve them). Not to mention it has more than 4 million views. Link to the roms Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2504016.
They are also working on a new rom fixing all of their bugs which I personally am excited for, you can ask me any question.
This is a best rom and i'm used it. but my question is..May this rom have some issues, we flash some file to fix it?
Agni Kernel will fix everything

You only need to download and flash this file (Kernel): http://d-h.st/users/psndna88/?fld_id=36625#files Which is Agni Kernel it will make everything run smoothly

Dear junior member - don't make threads about best ROM. Ever.
I totally disagree with your ROM choice, but that's beside the point. Didn't you watch the intro video for noobs? DO NOT JUDGE ONE DEV'S WORK OVER ANOTHER.
Reported to mods because these threads are sooo annoying.
Mod Edit
"Best" or "Recommend" ROM / Kernel threads are not allowed on XDA.
Please test these things for yourself. That is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion,
and then, you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.

Hi all, there's been some back and forth as to which ROMs work on the dev edition. I decided to make a thread to list the ones I've tried and work. I figured we can share which worked and what you did to get them working (i.e. change APN, kernel, etc.). Thank you devs for sharing your great work I've used the following successfully:
Definitive
CM12 (known bugs)
Firekat (in T-mobile thread, daily driver)
Stock
Rick's
Well considering that there is no root available for the retail version it would make total sense that roms posted in the development forums are for the Dev edition of the device. I don't believe there is any question as which roms are for the Developer Device.

Have a great day!
I think he means Rom's that work versus those with too many bugs as opposed to DE vs RE rom's.
For this to be fully useful I would suggest links to the forum post for each Rom and listing out the different CM12 variants (AICP, PAC, etc.). Thanks
What I meant was, "I tried ROM xyz from the tmo forum using ABC kernel". I apologize if it wasn't clear enough. Some folks have successfully ported Roms that were for a different carrier.

My suggestion is that you edit the title also the other user has a great idea to post links for each one so you can actually have a help thread or index.

So....how did you get Firekat to work, then?
I'll update the page with links, etc. today. The Dev, Mega, makes a Verizon Dev edition specific version of Firekat. 11x is the most recent and it is listed under the T-Mobile Note 4 section but labeled as vzw.
I need a kernel for Resurrection Remix 5.8.3, but I can not find the proper kernel and the synergy kernel did not work either
...
I'm also looking for the Kernel following upgrading to the latest version. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Confused which kernel ??
Kernels usually come with the rom or a linked in the roms thread >> found via search thread tab.
Or as a thread in development for individual kernels.
Your post lacks information as this thread relates to sept 2017 not today ,so a guess.

Hello Goodnight
they will know if Synergy 14.1
Will it be compatible with N900v?
since it does not detect the sim if I install Synergy 19 .. / Synergy RC19 Unified 06012018
Thank you
ASk in Verizon forum .
Verizon Note 3 forum is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-note-3
Hmm...I have a distinct feeling that this post is relating to the fact that the OP's phone is unable to boot the later Resurrection Remix OS's, due to the fact that they are one of the 'unlucky ones' with kernel issues on their Note 3, like myself. @JJEgan knows what I am talking about. I suggest that the OP reads the last fifteen or so pages of this thread - https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...rp-3-2-1-1-t3746760/post77193256#post77193256
I may be wrong, and you might not have this problem with your phone. It's just a hunch. If I am right though, I will say to you that at this moment in time, the case remains UNSOLVED, as nobody currently seems to know what the issue is.
I have made developers on here aware of it, such as @ashyx , @bigbiff and @ripee
Chris
Hello,
As stated above, I wanted to root my Samsung Note 3 after installing the above as I noticed my battery is draining faster after installing a new OS with Odin.
The reason for rooting the phone is that I wanted to try out battery saving options using custom kernel (as mentioned in other forum post) in order to lower battery consumption. Can someone point me to the right way to do so (e.g. relevant forum post etc). I have seen some forum post which mentions about bootloader etc or using Odin but they are from 2013 and they involve stock OS so I am not sure if it applies to my situation. Thank you in advance.

Thank you so much, I am not too familiar with the search function i.e limiting searching for root within samsung note 3 forums. Your link helps so much.
