I took a quick glance at that thread. I hope that the Bluetooth works better than originally stated. I'm also hoping that volte works on it.

Not sure on the Bluetooth issue, but if you use the mk2000 kernel you'll probably be good, shouldn't have any issues with Volte as long as you run a 918 rom and have a tmobile sim

Could you please explain to me what 'FWUL natively from USB' is exactly? Sorry if it seems like a dumb question. I am not new to rooting phones but, this way of rooting is very new to me..Also I read in the Laf thread that you need to use a program called Rufus? What does all this mean in simple terms?

Hey guys, I just received the devices in the mail just now. Can anyone confirm that the post created by Kish9046 is still the only accurate way to gain root? Both devices are H9180P. Also, I'm looking for a stable rom that has volte and, stock camera. I am aware that some roms do affect the camera quality. Any ideas, knowledge, or opinions are greatly appreciated.

Could I use an Type C adapter on my standard USB cable with a 3..0 quick charger head on the other end of the USB cable to get quick charge on this device? The cheap after market charger that came with this refurbished phone gets very hot and, I want to replace it.
I'm hearing that Tmobile is finally pushing out the oreo update for the H918, I don't have it yet. Does anyone know of how long it will take for everyone to get it?

Hello everyone, I first want to say thanks and sorry if I posted this in the incorrect section or if it's been discussed before. I want to learn how to make my own custom Rom for my Verizon Samsung Galaxy s7 edge snapdragon ( G935vvrs2apf2). I already have Tickle my android on my windows 10 laptop. If anyone could be nice enough to tell me how to get a stock rom (G935vvrs2apf2) so I can deoxde it and how to you extract it to star modification. Also what else do I need like software, tools, and a guide or how to would be nice. Also since my bootloader is locked how can I back up my rom so I can reflash it incase I mess something up. Thanks to all. I know it's not going to be easy but I rather try and fail than fail because I didn't try at all.

@orgulloso4202, FYI unless you are actively developing a ROM, kernel or recovery, you should not be posting in the development section. Please note the rules for posting in the development section stickied there. I've moved this to the Help section.
Cheers!
This is the best and advice I can give you. 1st you will need a linux machine with a build environment set up and SuperR's Kitchen. 2nd go to this section for any questions and info, there are quite a few helpful people there. I built a few ROMs but it's been a while and I'm not too good at giving directions. I only had partial success with the S7 and pretty much gave up. So there you have it go to the links, read and ask in there. It's your beset bet. I have firmware here you can download and build from. Good luck and have fun.

Hello,
my aim here is to sort out things easily for beginner's, hence I made a detailed video on How To Root and Unlock Bootloader using TWRP and Magisk with the help of ADB drivers and Magisk.
which is,
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot flash recovery xxx.img
flash the TWRP and Magisk, you have a rooted device.
I have made a detailed Video, check it out,
Links are provided in the description and I will be updating it.
TWRP Credits to @eng.stk
Magisk Credits to @topjohnwu
while updating your ROM,
Flash the FULL ROM ZIP
Wipe Dalvik Cache and Cache
Flash Masgik
to be on the safer side, reboot.
backup stock kernel
flash the custom kernel
you will continue to get the OTAs but in FULL ZIPs, not in Incremental Updates.
ROMs are updated here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...-5t-mirrors-official-oxygen-os-t3708099/page5

yes, I have already updated, although I wouldn't suggest to flash now.
it has issues with Data Restore, stay on Unofficial for now.
Uh, ADB and Fastboot are tools. I'm betting more than 3/4 of first time flashers have most of their problems with drivers for ADB and Fastboot.
Just sayin.....

Nice video. Perhaps the phone portions could zoom in a little more, but you mention in the video links but I didn't see them. It would be helpful in your first post to have the links to adb/fb, recommended twrp, and magisk. That will save N00b from hunting around for the drivers and packages. Also when I make videos I tend to stay away from version numbers because they are always changing, that is why it's easier to update in the post, unless you expect to keep updating the video. HTH

If you are unlocked and running a global rom, you can try but take the stock kernel boot.img backup just in case it loops. Its best to rewrite all partitions on the T mobile device if you are unlocked which can be done by using the unbrick tool once :good:
Edit: You should follow this thread for a detailed discussion :good:
U may have to change the device check for any op6 kernel...they all boot. I tested every kernel. Flash rules.. And we can't use the tool to rewrite the critical partitions, we don't have access to them..can u please see why we cannot access them even with fastboot oem unlock_critical? We are all totally unlocked

T-Mobile users currently cannot use the unbrick tool to overwrite critical partitions due to a hardware/software check that mismatches.

All these files are possessed by the support staff who generally share those during a remote session and there on those are further uploaded. So someone with t-mobile variant can contact support and try getting the tool.

Sorry if its too much of a 'newb' question, but I've been reading up on this for days, and I'm still not sure, if there is an exploit for the h81220x (Marshmallow, Fido/Rogers(?)) variation of the LG G4. I've seen messages from 2017 that say "not yet, for this one anyway", so it's all quite confusing. I only want to install a ROM with as late a version of Android as possible (beyond MM). I know the bootloader is hard as nails to crack, and there are alternatives, like "USU", and one wrong move and this thing goes into a permanent bootloop. So is it now doable for a Fido-branded G4 with the H81220X firmware installed, and if so, which would be the best / safest method to go with? Thanks!
