I've been looking for an android head unit for my 2015 Forester (and from what I've seen there isn't alot of support for that ). However what I did find is this:
Smarty - Trend (sorry I can't link)
But I can't find anything about this company, reviews or any mention of their existence outside of their own website. So far my email to them on some questions has gone unanswered (its been just under a day), but was wondering if anybody had heard of them before and or had information about them or their products (are they rebadged Chinese units?)
Did you hear anything or pull the trigger on this? I'm interested as well.
never heard of them, good looking website though. I want this for my Jeep
http://smarty-trend.com/jeep-wrangl...-car-stereo-navigation-in-dash-head-unit.html
However it only has 1GB of RAM, can't go back to that after the 2GB Joying I have
That site does look pretty good. If you buy it, please post a review of your unit as I'd be interested!

We can be reasonably sure that this is a reseller or dropshipper of chinese MTCB/MTCD. Note lack of policies or business information. Suggest avoiding for reputable reseller.
This seem weird to me...
I just found this SmartyTrend website and they had a head unit for my Peugeot 208 which seems very nice compared to what ebay offers. SmartyTrend claims that they'll pay the VAT and that there is a 12months garanty on the product which really stands out from what ebay has to offer. although i've never heard of this website and i've been searching for a head unit quite a while now, so i did some digging.
Turns out that SmartyTrend states on their website that they're delivering from United Kingdom, Germany or Netherlands. This might just be some partner ship stock facility that they have but what i find interesting is that when you see their youtube videos, you also find the exact same videos from another site called AutoPC their language is primarily on russian, so i contacted their live chat to ask them about SmartyTrend ( on english ofc) their reply was
Простите, но в данный момент мы не можем ответить Вам. Пожалуйста, напишите Ваш вопрос здесь и мы ответим на эл. почту как можно скорее!

Sorry, but at the moment we can not answer you. Please write your question here and we will respond to email. Mail as soon as possible!

Although the live chat is online... (could be a quencident)
If you head over to their partner site which seems to be AutoPC Partners you'll notice that on this website, they have stores spread out in Ukraine but no reviews can be found on google just like SmartyTrend.
I find it strange that there isn't a single review on this SmartyTrend and AutoPC on the internet, and that the 2 websites are completely different to each other. I can't tell if one of them is fake due to the videos on youtube.
Look at this youtube video and notice her nail color, ring and watch:
Now look at this video and notice her nails, ring and watch:
Also do notice the names of the youtuber, they're not the same company.
I don't know if this makes any sense at all. i mean, they could just be 2 different companies or they could be working together without mentioning it. Somehow i just sense something fake about it. Maybe its due to no reviews at all.
Hope some of you can find something more about it to prove me wrong.
I pulled the trigger and bought a head unit for my Mercedes. I did speak with someone on their chat for 30mins asking questions first, so felt confident enough to go for it... Crossing my fingers and I'll keep you guys posted! The main reason I had the balls to do it is because it was through PayPal so I know I can get my money back if it's a ripoff...
Seems like they have updated their website and the Jeep head unit I linked earlier in this thread is now 2GB of RAM.
And they have a link to download their "interface"

I was this close to buying a 10inch joking unit for 200 less and similar specs, but Smarty-Trend's had the custom Mercedes kit with it and had Marshmallow on it ready to go whereas the Joying one would have needed the update, even though it's not hard I've seen users posting about having issues after updating.

Joying works fine, they just don't make the cool custom look.
I have had Joying for over a year, but I wanted a 10 inch Jeep specific so I tried Seicane and Dasaita.
Interested to see how this Smarty Trend turns out

Here is the Seicane
Here is the Dasaita
If you decide on Seicane you can get 5% a discount on anything at https://www.seicane.com/ by using Coupon Code: 5after12
That Seicane didn't have "Auto Sleep" so I got the Dasaita, which does have it. But the Dasaita doesn't recognize USB after sleep, which defeats the purpose.
So now I am getting a Seicane 7.1 unit, which should have Auto Sleep
about Smarty Trend
I just check it the Smarty Trend, they start from 2016. And big screen android head unit for 2015 Forester is the most popular right now. And I found that Espony-cargo has it, most item are tesla style, I found this item 2GB. I think the storage is enough.

Yes, I do. It was easy to connect it. It looks stylish, the sound is better than before. I also installed the rearview camera, the image is clear - it is a useful option for me. And navigation - my everyday application. I satisfied. All the function are working properly. I am thinking about tpms sensors, but not decided yet.
Hi,
I took the plunge and ordered the android headunit for my 2017 forester fxt sjg from what I believe is same seller in Russian to Smarty Trend in Europe with office registered in Germany from the same exact looking 5.1 processor offered by both.
Optical cable works fine to my Helix dsp pro processor but needed to down sample to 48khz with much older alpine H900.
Great now that typical wince part for radio etc. works fine from Headunit volume control as they had intercept on I2S level to have internal switch between this wince section and android optical section for truely integrated digital solution for those audiophile but yet wants full android car solutions instead of half bake android from big brand mfgrs.
Very pleased with provided solution compared to previously Newsmy carpad in my wife's Nissan Qashqai that requires Helix dsp pro with assigned priority to digital but BT call from Wince need to manually switch to Android to hear any sound.
Hope this helps as solution was scarce when I embarked on this 3 yrs ago ... just order one for qashqai to change out the Newsmy.
Cheers.

Hi yishiro-san,
Not sure if you got your answer but I can tell you that all these full android headunits are indeed rebadged from some Chinese mfgrs either by OEM companies in Russia or directly by themselves.
I know of at least one seller from russia where they work closely with these Chinese mfgrs.
I now have 2 of these latest units with optical outputs that I waited for more than 2 yrs which are great for SQ with external processors and they are all clearly with chinese labellings ... I do not recommend Seicane without optical output.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.

Hi All,
Ive been trying to read up as much as I can on all things Android head unit and have somehow got lost along the way - I've been reading up for about 3 weeks and now have more questions than when I started!
I want to fit a stereo for my wife which has Radio, GPS, CDs and phone connectivity (mainly for Calls but music etc would be nice). Ive already got a double din facia for her car so any universal double din would work. I dont yet know if her car has CANBUS - its a Toyota Urban Cruiser and has steering wheel controls but I cannot find an adapter for it so assuming it will be standard ISO connector.
Originally I was looking at non Android based units but felt the Android Auto would give her the best shot at sat nav with traffic updates etc and also mean things like sat nav wouldn't be instantly out of date. Whilst I have bought items from China before, I think somewhere like Amazon for me would be better as I can then return the unit if it doesnt work out. RDS and RDS-AF would be something that I know the missus would miss from a stereo so was trying to see how best to get that, either via ROM or a device that is known to do it. Spec wise, I wanted a unit that booted quickly and thought 2GB ram would be a worthwhile addition.
Here are two I've seen on Amazon. Originally I thought PX5 would be the way to go but it looks like ROM support for PX3 is quicker and better established. Ideally I would prefer something that just worked, but figured this may be unrealistic so something with good XDA support may be more realistic.

Any thoughts or pointers welcome

It is really hard to say something about a unit if you don't own or have owned that unit, and the units you mention are really "rare" units. What you read about here are the well-known units like Joying, Dasaita, Ownice, A-Sure, Witson and a number of others.
Your units are so rare (I personally have never heard of them) that I assume nobody knows them and therefore doesn't want to give a best-guess answer.
One thing though: I would advice not to buy a PX3. It is an older unit and quite slow. Yes, it is very well supported but the new PX5 is only here for a few months but really moving forward.
Or buy a Joying.
And remember: the quality is less than the premium brands, but you also pay 3-6x times the price for such a unit.
Ok. Thanks
Can you get a Joying with a dvd drive built in? Are there many PX5 versions with built in dvd?
Do you guys get yours direct from china? Is there any that have euro resellers?
Thanks again

The Joying Sofias have no DVD/CD player. I looked at some of the major Chinese brand PX5 models, but the ones I checked out didn't have a DVD player either. It is "old technology" (And yes, my wife also still prefers a booklet with CDs instead of selecting a playlist from a multi-playlist collection in a music player).
Joying has warehouses in Germany, Australia and the USA. Maybe the others have as well. Some of the bigger brands also sell via Amazon.

My signture states I'm using a joying, which is DVD-less.
I would never buy a PX3 anymore.
I just bought a head unit for the first time in years.. A Pioneer C5500NEX.
Only AFTER do I discover android units..
Anyway, I have been looking at them for weeks and cannot make up my mind.
I recently came across this brand. It looks good but you know.. the whole looks and deceiving thing...
Amazon.com
- I am not familiar with these terms like FYT. But I would like one that I can root relatively easy.
-4+gb of ram (6gb ram would be ideal)
-Decent audio quality and would prefer an optical output.
-A VOLUME KNOB isn't a requirement but would be nice. (Or any suggestions for wired remote controls)
-NOT vehicle specific. 9-11 inch floating IPS display.
-Any other recommendations are appreciated..
I've been looking at
-Joying:

-Dasaita.. also this is my first time seeing the "scout" models

As in read the forum articles that deal with that, you need to put some work in.

What is an Anything PX6, as there are different vendors.
Also, I think you mean modded factory ROM. It largely attempts to address bugs to make things work properly, like Things that just work in the latest FYT UIS7862 unit. My advice, look for an FYT UIS 7862 such as mekede. The MTCD/E/P/H units remain buggy and slow in comparison.
You probably don't know what is being discussed here because item #1.
It's not easy indeed, especially when manufacturers don't tell you things you want to know.

Okay as much as I like Dasaita, it's probably not the right choice for you. You are looking to make a considerable investment and seem to have a good understanding of features you're looking for.
Here's our latest article that will help you greatly making the right choice of head unit. It reveals many secrets manufacturers don't tell you.
https://extrememod.co.uk/blog/f/android-head-unit-vs-android-auto-vs-bluetooth-stereo
Once you've read it, reach out to us on our Facebook page and we'll help you through FB Messenger to find the perfect head unit for you and pick a trusted seller on AliExpress to save you money.
I bought one of these and I think they use Junsun firmware. I'm still digging into mine but the model of mine is FF_866X which xda has a thread for. What did you end up getting?
Hey there
I'm looking for a good Android head unit with really good specs (for e.g. QLED at least HD, best would he FullHD and a good chipset with a good amp, things like toslink and a fan to cool the unit would he nice) for a BMW pre facelift E46 - also for a MB CL203 pre facelift....
I'm just really confused by how many chipsets there are and which hardware specs are to look out for ..
I also don't know what Bluetooth codecs are used, you know, I also want to have good music without latency and with good quality - obviously we all want this
Maybe someone could help me out and tell me some things about all those head unit manufacturers like Dasaita, Junsun, Skyshadow and so on - I just don't know where start to filter the bad from the good units, I know one thing or two about android, but never bought an Android head unit before - now is the day
For example:. I found something like this here - BT6 or TT6 here on AliExpress (seems nice to me)
Is this overkill? : The 2k model on AliExpress which I found
Is it any good? For what should I look out for? Maybe there are some threads here on xda which are good to read to get some Infos, maybe someone could provide me those?
Also, I don't know anything about the specs of MTCD, MTCB and FYT, I don't have any Infos about them - but there are sperate xda developer forums for them...
Thank you very much in advance
Start by having a read through forums, get a feel for the unit you want - more importantly want to avoid, then ask a few more pointed questions.
Honestly, there are few on xda that want to view links because you are unsure.
There are few and far between 'experts', which is not the best use of their time to answer repetitive posts from new users, a regular few members who dont respond, through to those that join to get free advice, disappearing once advice is received.
You probably want a FYT based UIS7862. Nothing better at this time.
Suggest what ever you decide - and you might have seen my posts with the same advice for the same question - get seller to send you images of full Android system information, including MCU version. This will signal the seller that you know what you want and be less likely to send you a lower spec unit, or completely different unit. If they try to scam you, you can then file a dispute/refund.

Right, I agree with written and just to add...
In preorder, before buying, specify to seller what kind of device you want and they will configure it for you (specially for Chinese merchants) or find a different solution.

Thank you very much, you just confirmed my thoughts, that this chipset would be the best of all those out there for Head Units - but I have also seen a Qualcomm Version, but have never compared them.
You see, I still don't know what FYT means and I just vaguely know, that MCU Version is the base system on which a head unit is based on?
I am not asking for full service, I'm just looking for example for tutorials - I would to write some tutorials if I gain more and more knowledge, would help other newbies like me. Also it could be just about that someone else is buying or bought a head unit for those cars I've mentioned - sometimes it just happens by chance...
But thank you anyway, you gave me the right Infos and tips for what I have to look for.

So they basically search for a head unit for me to my liking?
I think that I have to write with some of those sellers to have a selection from which I could chose.
Are there some amplifiers, which should be avoided or which are good and recommended? Are there any details for which I should look out, which could be a good trap for newbies like me?
Where I can get MCU Version information? (I know, you can look it up in the 'about' screen on Android, but I'm still not quite sure what it represents) so basically if someone has a for e.g. Dasaita and someone else have a Skyshadow, they could use the same software, if MCU Version would he the same?
Thank you very much

Not by liking must choose what your car tells you, choose what is compatible with car and most up to date device
Start by searching for units compatible with your car. Then narrow the selection by CPU (8 core), RAM (6 or 8 GB) and screen.
When you are down to a handful, look at seller reputation and number of units sold for your config.
Also, check shipping terms and always ask if they ship from regional warehouse.
so, I still don"t understand what FYT or the other things stand for - I have no idea, I thought, that maybe the chipset like UIS7862 defines what is DYT or MCPD or what ever - also what is MCU-version?

FYT is the manufacturer of most of these UIS7862-based units, no matter what the Chinese reseller calls them. Navifly, Mekede, Joying, etc.
MTCB to MTCE are really old units from a different manuacturer.
MCU is basically the "mind" of the unit, taking care of low level functionality.
Now, for the bad news. This is all pretty much useless information.
Look for a good screen - best I have seen in these units is 2000x1200 QLED, 8-core and as much RAM and ROM as you can find - 6 to8BG RAM and 128 GB storage is max I have seen.
Android 10 (almost all Android 11 and 12 units are fake and actually are Android 10)
Don't count on updates and get a headunit designed for your car to avoid frustration.

Thank you very much - you're the only one, who provided me some answers to my questions in the first place.
You also confirmed my view on the Android head unit market - would also look for the same things you wrote to look after buying a new head unit.
Do you know, if there is a double DIN unit which has one knob for the volume? The only one I've found has only "High definition" resolution, there is no option for a 2k display - it's this one: Head unit with fake android 11 because of false API but looks nice and has some features - especially the BT6 and TT6 models...
I would love to have a BT6 with a 2k display, but I think that this only a dream. There just simply none available with a volume knob and a 2k display, otherwise it would be just perfect.
Hi there, sorry to jump in your thread, but i am also searching for a unit for my E46. I went through a lot of pages from the 144 pages of the main FYT thread available, but still, i am a bit lost to find out the unit that would fit the best my wishes. Did you choose one finally ? Overall from my side, i am currently stock navigation system with Harman Kardon amp and speakers. Over it i installed a raspberry with an interface named "Pibus" which allows a piece of software running on Kodi to get a lot of interaction with the car (BMWRaspcontrol). Overall i love the system, it has a lot of benefit, but the downside of it is Kodi, so no Android auto, no carplay nothing like that.

If this wil help you choose...
I have bought recently TS18 unit (topway branded) and installed it in car. First of all, I'm so happy I got this, for 200€ I got Qualcomm processor (much faster and better than Chinese c....p Mediatek) , bunch of new apps that you can choose to install rather than have all mixed in single process, updating of unit is online, so you must have internet connection (5g is activated and running the whole time and + got wifi connection).
Unit has also online update for any of canbus boxes installed (so you won't have to choose or re-set all wheel controls), theme app for various themes and boot animation app for setting custom boot animations.
Unit has root access so it means you can do with your device anything you want!
And all that for only 200€ (bought 2GBx64GB) and with no customs taxes.
For other units like this one you are considering, this is jackpot.

Thanks for your recommendation, I took a quick and first look on those units and they are very similar to the other ones, regarding the screen, ram+rom, sources/outputs and also the resulting price - but I can't find any information which SOC is installed - which Qualcomm SOC do you have? There were some of those units, last time I searched - something like snapdragon 662?
I prefer to have a high amount of ram and ROM, also it should have a QLED Display + one knob for volume regulation....

Hi there,
thanks for all the suggestion, indeed a Qualcomm processor if available is a huge plus compare to anything else. I will check out what's available and will report what i found. Is the one for the Peugeot you showed from the seller you got good support as you mentioned ?
Edit : Found out that the official store doesn't have any E46 model available, so started to look around, and found this unit, but the price for the Qualcomm 8 core version is a bit high

Edit2 :
I found this one, looks really great with volume knobs as you requested @Ubuntu_Man , however the plastic looks a bit cheap, but maybe it is an impression :

Price is ok , trust me, custom tax is in price so probably ,dependable on your country, customs will not be charged. I have not payed customs for import.
And probably is with free shiping. Ali Express is cheapest, AMazon and E-bay are expensive.

Sure that's also to be considered, you are right. Have a look to the second unit i showed, i haven't seen your answers, so i edited a second time my post. It is not Ainavi, but it is with Qualcomm processor

First option looks like better option, but you should know better what to fit in your car. Compatibility with car is crucial.

Compatibility about what? The function in the head-unit or the physical fit ? The physical fit, on E46 there was no difference from the first to the second phase, all unit that are made for E46 should go in the head-unit location without any issue. I remember the first generation, the units were longer and sometimes it was tricky to get all the rear cables sorted correctly so the unit would enter the dashboard correctly, but now i see that the units are shorter so it shouldn't be an issue. About the software, i hope with the canbus that all the functions are decoded correctly form the bus, unless there is some bugs. And last but not least, about the OEM installation in place, this is up to us to check, mine have the OEM navigation with the BM54 in the trunk, so i know that i have to take the long cable to connect the unit in the one in the trunk, and that is some work to be done Unless i am missing something ?
the only one that worries me a bit is the screen resolution. I am wondering if such big screen with 1280x720 is enough ?
Hi,
im very new to android radios and i was already reading a lot.. not just to make a decision which one i should by also to learn about problems, tricks and so on. And im sure, i will have some questions in the future I never had an android radio before and I had a conflict with my wife.. I like a big screen, 10 inch for example which always is a out of dash display but she dont like them. The biggest in dash i could have is a 9 inch unit. I did not found a lot vendors, only dasaita and joying. The radio is for our mercedes 906 sprinter van.
Dasaita: HA2152-Vivid10-CP-HD
https://www.dasaita.com/products/da...o-px6-4g-64g-android10-1280-720-dsp-ahd-radio
Joying: JY-UQ139N4G-H
https://www.joyingauto.eu/android-10-double-din-car-stereo-replacement-4g-lte-radio.html
What i need:
- good sound, it is basically a radio (min. 4x50 W output)
- DSP
- 2 Din (i was reading about over heating problems at 1 din units)
- wireless car play
- good FM receiver chip
As far as I know, the Joying is using the UIS7862, Dasaita PX6. After all i was reading here in the forum, I would prefer the Dasaita because of the PX6. The only problem: there are almost no information about the radio on their website. Which one would you buy and why? Is there anybody with experience of the Dasaita headunit? Are there better alternatives?
Best regards

Hi, prior to buying it I would ask sellers of this device to give you specs of device. And ask them in a way in which them must be clear that you are serious buyer not some naive buyer.
You will be much pleased with your answers.
Hi anton,
yes I was already asking yesterday for some more information but I expect that this unit is not completely different to the PX6 devices, which are more described in detail. Im still waiting for an answer.
I am also looking for a hu for a sprinter van and am looking at these. These seem very expensive compared to some of the other models out there. Is it only because that are made for Mercedes?

Difference is in chipset and prices ...
Mediatek devices are cheaper but full of bugs and much slower units
Qualcomm / Snapdragon units are now top stuff, much faster even with 2x32 GB of memory, everything is connected online , updating , helpdesk etc.
Mediatek devices - Chinese modified - has been reported that they are using some illegal softwares (pirated)
There is a third option , it is "do it yourself" type of device , you order specific device for model of a car, and unit is perfectly adjusted to any of the car model you want (with Qualcomm or older Mediatek chipsets), but it is much expensive rather than standard aftermarket units.
There is a link if you want to configure unit by your needs :
Check this site ... https://www.made-in-china.com
You contact them and they configure your device and order, price is told on end and + shipping.
Ie. like this order - for older cars below 2011 and with dahboard lcd control unit... https://witson.en.made-in-china.com...-Peugeot-407-Silver-Frame-1080P-HD-Video.html
or for Benz
https://witson.en.made-in-china.com...o-Output-to-Sub-Monitor-Like-Mirror-Link.html
Have you looked at the Teyes? https://teyes.com.au/collections/cc...d-10-no-2din-2-din-dvd?variant=38046855495876
Hi,
i was ordering the Dasaita. Had some contact but still not very much information about the device. The unit comes with PX6 and i guess there are not very much differences compared to the well described devices on their page. Lets see when it arrives (guess 4 weeks). They will also send me a unit with vivid11 which is not yet offered in the store. They confirmed that this device will fit into my 2015 sprinter even if the description is only labeled up to 2012. Im not surprised. Im wondering if the can will work but that is not much important to me.

When arrives ,put toghether and test, test , test everything... And results errors etc. report to your seller...
If has online updates, seller will give bug reports to technicians and they will update system or release updates with fixes for your device.
