Hi,
I just got a new LG G6 and right after first boot it reported an Android 8.0 sw upgrade available.
I have upgraded the phone, and everything is OK, but one thing seems to be not working.
In the settings I can see the option to display weather animations on the lockscreen. Today it was raining and weather widget was clearly showing the rain. But no animation on the lockscreen.
Does anyone maybe have any experience with it ?
Are you using the built in launcher? Weather info on lockscreen will only work when using built in launcher if i remember correctly.

Yes, absolutely. It's plain, stock, untouched, unrooted, just-updated-to-oreo, shining new G6
Is it working for you ?
And you have the weather widget on one of your homescreens right?

Sure. So I knew that the phone knows that it's raining
Yesterday I've tried another factory reset, cache clearing a.s.o. - and it was raining in the afternoon, but only outside - not in my phone lockscreen (but the widget was showing the rain, of course).
I think that it might be some system bug.
Its working for me.
Even when its not raining but just clouds buildup.. The rain animation is showing on my lock screen. Not accurate though ?.
That option is not available in Oreo....

The actual option IS there in the lockscreen settings, but seems to have no effect.
Well, maybe it will be fixed with some update.

it is, and it's working, I'm using nova launcher btw...
I've never had this work right for me. For the longest time, nothing. A month or so ago it showed me rain every day for a couple weeks. Now it's back to nothing.
I tried it yesterday, it works.

Upgraded to ICS yesterday, so far ok.. nothing amazing. But glad to have it. Is it not possible to make folders by dropping one App on top of another like on the Nexus??
thanks, and sorry if this was asked.. I checked, didn't see.
That's why touchwiz sucks

Oddly enough, I just tried Apex... but every widget I try adding, I get a message at the bottom saying "there's no more room on this homepage".. even when theres nothing else there! Any suggestions?
Maybe the widgets are too big for the screen you are not running any dpi change on it right? Also you can't add widgets ala ics way unless you are rooted

Thanks.. did that. That helped get some widgets on the screen, but there's still so many, like the digital clock, or power saving widget, for example that just won't fit on the screen.. can't seem to figure out how to get them to fit!! any other suggestions?? thanks!
Happened to me too when I upgraded my Note to ICS yesterday. I didn't touch any of the TW screens but installed and used Apex immediately. When I tried to add e.g. shortcuts to my XDA favorites it came up with the same error. I then checked with TW and there were the shortcuts, on screen 7 (where was some space). I cleaned up TW, i.e. removed all the widgets, and now it works on both launchers. Very strange indeed...
Gesendet von meinem GT-I9100 mit Tapatalk 2
Yeah it wont for me either. Although the widget would resize once in the 5 column but it still hovers above as if it is default 4...so a launchrr issue if it defaulted to 5 for the note it would be fine.

How do you remove the digital clock on the lockscreen? It keeps returning after I delete it. Also, can you add other widgets besides the four shown?
I was able to use uccw on the lock screen
Try to replace it with another widget. Then go back later and delete that one.

Tried that. The clock came back.
Is there at least a way to make it look decent, without the stupid bold hour digit? I wouldn't mind having the clock on the lock screen if it didn't look so bad.

Download Fixed Clock from the Market/Play Store and use that widget in place of the stock one.

good question, anyone?
Anyone else disappointed HTC didn't include these in 4.2.2?

Yes I am very disappointed. I've been wanting to use dashclock on my lock screen for ages!
I don't get why HTC chose to leave off a headline feature of 4.2.2.

Big time disappointment for me aswell, this is my first android phone, and when testing others phones, the majority had it working...... can not understand why they would'nt include it.

I was on pac but it's just not stable enough yet. I had them on my note 2 as well and I loved my dashclock widget

The only one I ever use is Dashclock. Thanks to the 4.2.2 Sense update and Widget Locker, I can still use it. I'm annoyed by HTC's decision but it wasn't a problem
Disable HTCLockscreen.apk and you will get stock lockscreen with lock screen widgets.
Apparently worked for someone in the ARHD thread but doesn't work for me, stock lockscreen shows but no lock screen widgets.

Only works if you dirty flash from 4.1.1 rom to a 4.2.2 rom. Most people couldn't get the phone to boot though.

Yep this worked for me, but I did dirty flash, I don't confirm if that's the reason it worked though.
The novelty of dash clock had worn off for me though useful as it is.
Not sure if you mean you're disappointed that HTC didn't include stock widgets, but you could try out Widget Locker and put other widgets on the lockscreen.
I'm a bit confused. Once I get the 4.2 update I will be able to use widgets like Dash Clock, right? Changing lock screen is no big issue for me as long as it works.

You won't be able to add widgets to your lockscreen. That's just how HTC did it. Even if you remove their lockscreen. Only way to get widgets will be if you use widgetlocker.

The widgets don't work. Only if you dirty flashed over a 4.1.1 Rom. Unless a newer version was released that some how included it, you have to use widgetlocker.

Even more confused now I don't know the difference between regular lock screen widgets and Dash Clock, but as long as I can use Dash Clock I'm happy.

Ahh Ok, yeah I did a dirty flash. But I switched back to the sense lock screen because I noticed if you had a pattern lock and got a call, you would have to unlock with your pattern before answering the call with the AOSP lockscreen

I have personally had problems using Widget Locker both on my S3 and now the One...find it to be laggy and at times not work consistently with notifications.
Can someone please explaine how it works?
Hi!
I've just flashed the new 4.2.2 and when i looked at the promissing lockscreen widget i was and i am confused.
I can see 7digital and a bunch of my Fancywidget widgets and Google, where are ALL my other widgets? Why so few?
I can live with that i can't scroll to the left and right for more pages (seems very strange to me anyway) but hey, i though ALL widgets could be put on my lockscreen...
Wait so the new lockscreen style "Widget" doesn't allow for Dash Clock to be placed on it? That's so bunk =/
Get weather up and running again
Is everyone sad that they cannot have the weather app working because xposed makes it crash???
Heres a workaround.
Weather apps Extracted from the LGG4 thanks to @LastStandingDroid
Download
Weather Apps (Courtesy of @LastStandingDroid)
Instructions
If you froze the weather apps you should unfreeze/defrost first.
-Extract the package to reveal 1.LGWeather 2.LGWeatherService 3. LGWeatherTheme
-Make backup of your old folders if you wan't to revert later!
-Copy and paste corresponding folders to System/App with Root Browser
-Set Folder Permissions to rwxr-xr-x and app to rw-r–r–
-Reboot.
You will now have the G4 Weather app and widget.
I am still getting "unfortunately weather has stopped" on my f460k
Thanks works fine on my D855 Bumped 20P

Yes that might be the reason it is not working.
Defrost anything weather related and it should work.
Make sure to Defrost the weather services if you did after installing Xposed.
What about the smart notice widget.. If you install the g4 ported weather app the smart notice will FC

Smart notice, Weather and quick circle all broken with Xposed.
At the moment i am only providing instructions on how to get weather back.
Awesome work! So that I am clear, I defrost the weather related apps, then copy and paste the new ones? Do I delete the old ones, or just leave them there?

2 options.
1. Delete them and replace with new ones.
2. Copy them to your SD for backup.
They cannot both be in the system/app folder

Would Love to know the answer to this as well
Has anyone tried using the smart cover from the G4? Maybe with smart notice, weather, and smart cover from G4 will stop the Fc with xposed all together?? If someone can extract the files for me.. I'll test it out..
Thank you for this, it seems to be working fine, except for lockscreen animations. In settings/ lockscreen/ show weather... It asks me to "set a location or primary city in Weather" which I have already done. Any one have any idea what else I should try?
