I've tried the ROM and it's almost perfect. The only problem I've faced is not being able to login to Google. I tried the latest version of Open Gapps pico and when I go to login through Play Store it will freeze and then show a black screen. Has anyone else faced this issue? Are there any functional Gapps? If so, I would like a link to download. Thanks in advance.

If u didn't try, Try Google Installer from Mi app store or u can google it.
Trying to install right now and it's on the MI boot logo for almost 30 mins now...how long the installation takes? I did a factory wipe before that...

Best ROM for RN4? LOL. You must be new there. MIUI is overbloated garbage, and this whole MIUI 10 is nothing new but few interface changes to look like iOS even more.
This crap has more bloatware, useless services and spying than HTC, Samsung, and LG combined.

I want to play Injustice 2 & I have tried every custom rom available which claims to be stable and bug less. But in every custom rom Injustice 2 force closes. It is only playable in miui. But I hate miui because all bloatwares and unwanted gapps. I want a custom rom in which I can play injustice 2.
PS: Injustice 2 is not directly available on Play Store on Redmi 3S/Prime for which I even contacted WB Support and they said they will fix it in new update but they haven't either. If we open play store in chrome and from there go to play store page of injustice 2 it says your device is not compatible with this version. But if we download it from other site we can play it on stock miui rom.
Any help is appreciated.

There are lot of MIUI based custom roms. Perhaps you can try them. They like other roms don't have any gapps or bloatwares.

I have tried LOS and RR from Hriday, fedosis, charansai etc.
The only miui based rom i found was Rexmi by dabi01 but it is still in beta version and doesn't have gapps & we can't flash opengapps in that rom and i only want google contact sync and google play games only...

Since you unlocked the bootloader, your phone isn't considered secure anymore.
If you want it to pass safetynet test, you should install Magisk Manager and install Xiaomi SafetyNet Fix module.

Then it's not CTPS SafetyNet related problem. Should be another incompability with Redmi 3S.

You can't flash open gapps in either of MIUI based custom roms. You need to take backup of gapps required and manually install in those ROMs.

I can assure you that it's an incompatibility issue as my 4 year old Android One (sprout4) can download the game from Play Store without any incompatibility message in the store

The screen just froze. I even left it as it was for around 15 minutes
After that I tried xiaomi.eu and it works very good

I got this. Try downloading TWRP cafface from fedosis's drive. It will work.

Yep, with Oreo doesn't work (Tryed on LineageOS 15.1 A5 2017).

I did but its even worse...or i didnt downloaded the right app or i dont kno to make the settings. It 's lagging..when i move the phone and it's very dark...the exposure ...comparative to the stock camera.

Hey, are you on LOS 15.1 Unofficial? I tried the ROM around 2 weeks ago. I cant make any calls as the dialer freezes, requiring a reboot. Also randomly the system UI restarts. How is your experience with the ROM? Thank you.

It works really good for me, i have installed the full gapps 8.1 zip from the official site. I don't use it bcs bluetooth doesn't work and I have to use it to connect my phone with my car.

I flashed both mindthegapps and Gapps pico...but I had reboot and unable to call issues. So does it mean I have to flash full Gapps? Did u have any call issues, freezing or any major or minor bugs apart from BT?

This is not my build. I took it from Telegram. Backup your internal memory first and use treble enabled recovery.
Note: Password For Zip File : 1008611 (if this port file ask for password at the time of extracting then use if not asking then not use.
Flashing instruction:
1-Extract it to recovery (twrp) folder
2- then going to recovery
3-wipe dalvik &cache , system , data,vendor and cache
4-And then go to restore option and restore miui 10 Mi max 3 pie port.
Note: Install google services via attached file.
Instructions took from "Mido oreo & pie based miui 10" telegram group.
Note: Not need extra file like vendor , boot already included in pie mi max 3 port
How to get the Google contact sync work on miui 10 mi max 3 port
1) Grant all the permissions to Google play services and Google contact sync
2) Download Google contacts app from play store and open and start sync
3) Go to miui dialer settings and select configure contact lists
4) Select Google
Bugs list in mi max 3 pie port for mido:
1- hotspot not working
2- torch not working but flashing light on camera working fine
3- Button backlit not working
But is not a big bugs for initial build it will be fix.

If you want to login your account you should flash mi globe or epic rom lile stock rom and turn on find device feature.
Rom is not multilanguage. Boot time is fast.
You can flash Franco kernel or other kernels top of it. I tried it worked.

I'm surprised why people aren't using this ROM. I recently came across this on 4pda and I'm pleasantly surprised with it's stability and feature set. So here's what you need to know before flashing.
Instructions:
Use twrp 3.2.1
Flash ROM. Magisk 17.2 is included. You can flash 19.2 over it.
No need of gapps.
Wait 3-5 mins.
If u want nav bar open build.prop and search "mainkeys". Default is 1. Set it as 0 for nav bar. But I suggest you use fluid navigation gestures.
Stuff to know:
It's based upon nougat(redmi note 4 port). But brings a lot of stuff from Oreo like stopping notifications directly from the notification shade, settings button in notification, etc.
MIUI gestures don't work. I just use fluid navigation gestures.
Most of the MIUI features like app lock, dual apps, themes, mi account, etc are working perfectly.
Sustratum theme is working. Just download Dec 2018 apk of it and you can use pitchblack for a great AMOLED experience.
Battery life is pretty good. 8-9 moderate. 6-7 heavy. If you just binge 10+ easily possible. No deep sleep issues of any sort.
Banking apps like phone pe and gpay are working with magisk hide. Also disable telephone permission from Google play services.
Bugs:
No 24W fast charging. It takes 2 hrs to go from 0-80. 2.5 for a full charge.
Again, this ROM doesn't belong to me. As a past xiaomi user I just loved the idea of getting to use MIUI again.
This ROM deserves more love.

Don't think Gcam works but FP works.
No gcam but it comes with xiaomi's camera and footej camera can be used for video. Fp gestures work just fine. Compared MIUI 9, I feel they're very similar but the animations on this one are slick. They have snooze notifications from pie, also able to silent or put in dnd for a time limit. Nifty features have been included.

I don't use Netflix but banking apps just work fine. Just disable phone permission on Google Play services. Then hide them using magisk

If you guys wanna try this rom, open gapps mini package works fine. I don't use Google pay, but play store, sync works good.

Installed it, nice!
I did it the not official way, installed the zip via local update.
Some apps not working, most of them do though.
Should I install gapps mini as recommended?
And uninstall play store? The official play store works fine.
What is the official way to install it? Via recovery I guess?

What do u mean? U need to install gapps too? Don't they come pre loaded?
No, no play store, I went to recovery after my dirty upgrade, it was all in Chinese, I clicked on something, I guess it was wipe and clear cache, every thing was gone, continued and had a clean install.
Deleted all the Chinese apps.
Downloaded play store apk, and now busy installing my apps.

This is H2OS which is China's version of OOS. It does not have gapps because Google isn't allowed in China. You'll have to sideload google services or as the other user said opengapps mini works.

I really don't know. I know someone else who tried opengapps earlier today on this build, I don't know which package, and they didn't work. So it might be really picky.

I just did a search for play store apk, and found on the apk site I know the play store apk. That worked.

H2Os already has every Google apk, minus Play store. Just download Play store apk and use it notmally

Can you share the link to open gapps mini package and the steps you flashed? I've tried using micro/nano open gapps but the first boot after flashing takes very long time and no google stuff shows in the phone. I can just install google play apk but also want to have the sync feature.

No crashes, updating apps works good.

Yeah but you have to wipe internal storage too. I tried without but it didn't work for me i was on Android 10 custom rom.
