Hi.
My phone is not bricked, but I stuck with a "test build" rom on my phone, I have no idea how to install anything else now.
First of all, I have to tell: I previously always used telephones with stock android interface, so this is why I wanted to mess with my phone, and try some other rom (for example: carbon), emui wasn't so friendly for me...
I had fully stock P10 lite dual sim version with 3gb ram WAS-LX1C432B206 (or maybe an ota update newer) when I opened up the bootloader.
Installed twrp_p10_lite_0.4.img from fastboot, and installed supersu on the phone. With the stock rom and root was everything working well.
The only thing, I noticed, the TWRP did not see normall the data partition, if i wanted to browse, i just saw directories with strange caracters in their names.
One week later i wanted to try Carbon rom. The next problem came up here, I wanted to back up my system and data from twrp, Of course the data partition always was failed. I tried different twrp versions what I have find here on XDA
- EliteTWRP-3.2.1-0_2018-01-19.img
- Huawei P10 Lite-RecoveryTwrp EMUI 8.0.0.zip
- Twrp P10 Lite Nougat By KingOfMezi.zip
...and different versions of these twrp recoveries..
Elite and KingOfMezi twrp version was working the best for me, however also not good with the data partition. Because of this i made no backup from my data partition. (honestly nothing important on my phone yet) These recoveries allowed me to Format data, then wipe dalvik, cache, data etc..
So on this way i was able to install another rom, with no any error messagesm but with no any luck...
Any Rom I tried with no emui, was failing to boot, even not starting the boot sequence..
After this I flashed Elite_Rom_v7.7_for_P9-Lite_Honor_5C_6X_8-Lite_10-Lite_by_HassanMirza01
which was booting up, but my simcard was not working in the phone..
I fixed this problem by flashing and Huawei P10 Lite-OemInfoC432DualSim.zip and using 3 button method with dload folder on an empty sdcard with update_WAS-L21_hw_eu.app and update.app (Warsaw-L21_C432B182_EU_SERVICE_androidhost.ru)
After this, Android boots up, everything works fine, simcards too, imei numbers are okay. but the build version is NRD90M test-keys (and a year old version of emui rom)
It also closes back the bootloader, which i can open up any time, and flash twrp again, almost any version i want, some of them gives me error messagesm like not enough space on the pertition(sorry i dont remember exactly for the massage) espacially when i want to flash recovery ramdisk, always fails... With the flashable twrps the old problem still presistant with the data partition: i can't read/mount. Or after a restart, i can mount, and format, but no matters what i try to flash on the phone, nothing boots up.
If i use the 3 button method, and the sd card, the phone sets back itself to this test build rom, and works just fine, But i even can't install supersu on this system because it makes fail to boot...
I thought i'm technical enough to root a phone and install some different roms just like before in the previous few years, but i screwed up something very much, and honestly i already don't understand the whole methods, i dont see thel logic behind the procedures, I lost the clue...
In my opinion the main problem must be around the data partition because its not visible from the twrp recoveries...
If anyone have any Idea how to fix my issue, i appreciate, and thanks in advance.
Greets, NSX
if the rom number version is test keys you did the step oeminfo bad, copied more or insufficient files than you need and boom the restore made incorrectly.
Obviously make a copy to the important data qnd enable oem unlock.
1- you need a sdcard, ds orr ss oeminfo and b182 or 183 depending on your system
2- insert sdcard on the phone slot and boot in twrp backup only oeminfo(copy to safe place before nothing) then replace oeminfo, restore and dont make anything more.
3- Copy b182 or b183 service rom files inside of dload folder to dload created in sdcard. 182 for ds, 183 for ss.
4- finished copy seitch the phone disconnect the microusb from phone and just do the dload method.
Hey! I have a P10 Lite WAS-LX3 dual sim. I was trying to flash a custom ROM with android Pie, I have a lot of experience doing it with a lot of cellphones, but this time I don't know what is not working, I did a complete clean installation like you did in the first part of you tread, the problem is that the Custom ROMs don't boot I tried a lot of them also tried lineageOS 15.1 just like it happened to you, the only one that works is stock ROM, When I flash the Custom ROM without errors then I reboot to system, but, I cannot pass the screen of: You device is booting now. I really want use customs ROM in my cellphone, to give to it another year. Thank you.

So, yesterday i tried to install Euphoria OS on my phone, but in all of a sudden, the /cache partition corrupted, i was dumb enough and deleted it via TWRP, making my phone fall into the QPST status.
After fixing it, i proceeded and reflashed KitKat, but the phone only shows 8GB instead of 16GB, so i tried to fix this by flashing TWRP, everything went well, until i upgraded to Lollipop again.
It always bootloops no matter what i do, i really need my phone with my 16GB of storage back, it isn't a Hardware failure since the QPST diagnosis didn't say anything about mobo failures.
I can mount all the partitions, i can wipe it all, i can boot into bootloader and recovery, i can do basically everything but booting the system.
Any light on this? it either happens after i flash TWRP or after i try to root it.
Im running Android 5.1.1 stock.

Don't you dare tell me to reflash the ROM again, this is the first thing i have done, i did this 20 times already and it never worked. It isn't a ROM problem. It is a partition problem somewhere.
Fixed, had to use LGNPST to reflash JB 4.4.2, then upgraded to a ZIP version of the Lollipop ROM, then flashed the stock one.
I'm having the same problem with my Nexus 4. I read also about LGNPST, but I remember something about flashing the Optimus G cache partition I believe, then manipulating one of the prop files afterwards in order to get your 16gigs back. The problem is that all of the files needed to do this flash are attached to a stupid downloader site and so its full of pop up windows and adware from what I've seen. I can't get mine to boot into system, or bootloader, or recovery, etc. The device will not finish looping for debugging to be enabled, and even trying to boot into download mode is not happening. I've tried all I know to do, especially considering fastboot and adb both utilizeusb debugging. I really am baffled. Any root kits I've tried also don't work so far. Help please.
So I got my 6GB/64GB x720 yesterday. It had Google Play Store already installed (ordered it from HonorBuy) and asked me to install a 7MB OTA, so it seems it had a recent version of EUI on it. My idea was to put LineageOS 14.1 on it or if it wasn't stable enough for me, at least a debloated and rooted stock. So searched XDA and followed this HowTo. No Errors, flashboot oem device-info said, bootloader unlocked, perfekt. Installed TWRP, downloaded recent LineageOS and followed the guides to flash (wipe, ...). Unfortunately flashing never finished, I always had a full progress-bar and it stayed there without doing anything (ok, the device got hot). Thinking of a broken download, I redownloaded the ROM but same problem. So I started downloading other ROMs from XDA: Resurection Remix and OmniROM. Flashing-process went thru, but couldn't flash gapps and ROMs didn't boot at all. I was always only getting to the LeEco-Bootlogo with the chinese writings. So next thought was, maybe for some reason I can't install Lineage-based ROMs, let's figure out later and get a debloated stock ROM. So I downloaded MAURO V2.2_Free and gave it another try. Looked more promising, as the bootlogo was a little different, no more chinese writing but english. Unfortunately this was all I could see of MAURO as I only got a bootloop... so again reflashed MAURO and this time a single line in TWRP-output came to my eye "boot.img could not be written". I checked flashboot oem device-info after every flash and it always told me, bootloader is unlocked, but there seems to be something else that I'm missing that obviously still keeps the bootloader locked. I wiped the phone several times, even sdcard... nothing helped. The only method that worked for me to get a working rom running was by this guide, manualy flashing every bit of stock ROM with flashboot. With MAURO-ROM, I also tried to flash boot.img manually with flashboot, but that didn't work, either.
Anyone of you experienced the same? What am I missing? Or is this some new protection implemented by LeEco for the most recent devices? Any help really appreciated!

I have the same phone from Honorbuy, I flashed twrp using the tool by Mauronofrio and from the twrp wiped all and flashed the custom rom, all went ok, no errors at all! Glad to see you have solved anyway!
Thanks for the answer... no, it's not solved for me... still a lot of bloat on the phone I can't get rid of. Do you have a link for the tool you mentioned? Could be worth a try...
Hi! I've used this tool installing it on a Windows 7 64 system:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/development/tool-tool-one-mauronofrio-t3580611
Then turned ON the (original LeEco stock rom) usb debug option by the rom's developer options, then downloaded the LineageOS 14.1 by Team Superluminal in the phone's internal SD (the only SD it have!) + Arm64 nano Gapps, then with the tool gave a reboot in sideload mode. Then flashed the twrp recovery by the tool, restarted in recovery mode then executed a backup of ALL the "backupable" stuff (all the original rom and data and efs), then in wipe/advanced options I wiped dalvik, system, cache, data. Then in Advanced/file manager I wiped all the SD files with a dot ( . ) at the beginning of their names, then flashed the custom rom + gapps, reboot system, wait some minutes, done!
No luck with this tool, it doesn't even find my device. Any other ideas? I've read something for the x727, where they had to flash a 19s bootloader first, but I don't want to fiddle with flashing files that are not 100% meant for the x720...

Solved! As I could install TWRP I just went the next step and installed SuperSU (rooted the phone) in order to at least debloat stock rom. During the installation of SuperSU I saw, that SuperSU obviously patches somehow the bootloader. After checking that SuperSU worked in the ROM, I was curious if this could be the missing part I was searching for. I tried to install a LineageOS-based ROM and BINGO! it just went straight through! From my previous phones I was used to just install TWRP, wipe anything and flash desired ROM. This seems to be different on this device... so the proper procedure to be able to flash any ROMs is: Install TWRP, root stock ROM, reboot so SuperSU is fully functional, then go back into TWRP, wipe, flash what you want.
CDFS
I hate to say it, but it's still not solved. After testing Resurrection Remix, I wanted to test turbos ROMs, so went to TWRP, wiped and flashed... and got the same behaviour as before, ROM not booting. Also installing SuperSU via TWRP again didn't help, so brought back the phone to stock 023S manualy with the guide by Presterin, installed TWRP again and also SuperSU. No Errors, but flashing a different ROM didn't worked. So for now I'm back to stock, rooted it and tried to debloat it by myself. The only difference between the successful flashing and the failed was the stock version: I had the 026S-update when I rooted the phone and successfuly could flash another ROM. My guess would be that LeEco changed something in the bootloader, but I have no chance to verify this. Anyone from the devs maybe who could look into this? If you need dumos, logs or anything like that, I would be happy to help.
CDFS
This seems unrelated to bootloader.
Anyway:
1. Make sure you got the latest firmware, if not sure:
1.1. Download latest OFFICIAL ROM
1.2. Rename the rom to a 'update.zip' and place it on phone's root directory.
1.3. Reboot to fastboot and flash STOCK RECOVERY
1.4. Reboot to recovery and flash, also check wipe data.
DO NOT FLASH STOCK ROM WITH TWRP! THIS WILL NOT WORK!
That's it, you should have the latest firmware now.
After booting to stock rom, reboot a few times is recommended.
2. Download latest OFFICIAL TWRP
2.1. Flash TWRP with fastboot.
2.2. Reboot to TWRP.
2.3. Download any custom rom of your choice.
2.4. Wipe.
2.5 Flash.
Done.
You can try to flash a stock, old rom using the "Qfil/FlashOne" way as suggested by Tryzex (read his thread and other related threads), then once you have got a stable, full working phone, you can (hopefully!) wait for a LeEco OTA automatic update that can "repair" the file system/partition structure (also bootloader I hope!).
Btw, to debloat it isn't necessary to root the phone, you can keep the phone unrooted & debloated using the file manager embedded in twrp recovery to delete/replace any file/app you want. I'm sorry I can't help you better, cheers and... good luck!
PS
I see now the post from Voron00, it's a good hint!
@voron00 thx for the steps described. I'm using the most recent, official TWRP (3.1.1). Latest Official Stock seems to be 023S on their site, even though there is a 026S update. However, I did this 026S-update and rooted again, but was to cusious if flashing would work now... so I tried flashing turbos MIUI... guess what? It worked. So for whatever reason I seem to have trouble when flashing from a 023S, but no problems when flashing from 026S. I don't quite understand why you think that my problem is not related to the bootloader? As mentioned in the OP, I could see in the logs that while flashing, some roms had thrown errors regarding writing the bootpartition.
CDFS
Seems as I found the culprit, somehow. At least I could flash two other ROMs without any problems. Obviously I mixed and partly missinterpreted some steps found in different threads and howtos. I had "rm -rf for formating" ticked all the time in TWRP. My flashing procedure is now as follows:
1. in TWRP settings check that "rm -rf instead of format" is NOT ticked
2. wipe Cache, System and Data
3. repair filesystem for Cache, System and Data and check that no errors occur
4. in TWRP settings tick "rm -rf instead of format"
5. flash ROM
6. wipe Dalvik
CDFS
"rm -rf" clears all the files and directories without formatting the partition. If your partition is damaged you need a real format to obtain a reliable partition (if the "disk" isn't faulty). Perhaps in your case a real format was required to solve the problem! I always used the real format and assumed other users even so. I see you finally solved the problem!
Hi friends! I really feel frustrated with this phone.
I began by using fastboot to flash TWRP (twrp-3.1.1-1-s2), used it to flash Lineageos 13.0, but IR BLASTER doesn't work, then I flashed 14.1 and IR blaster, Sim detection, flashlight and camera don't work correctly, I tried Resurrection remix and MIUI8 too but I gave up, neither of those Custom Roms works as I wanted them to.
So I went back to EUI and all was well until I wanted to update OTA, it gave me an error every time, tried to do it with update.zip but nothing, using stock recovery and nothing. I used TWRP and wipe everything again, now this thing won't start it just bootloops, I tried everything for two days and every time I use a stock ROM (5.8.020s) it gives me an error, or tells me it can't be read. When I factory reset and format everything it tells me I dont have an OS installed, so I'm completely lost I don't know what else to do and I can't return the phone because I'm overseas right now.
I really need to have it as when I got it the first time because at least it was functional but I just can't get it to work
I could really use some help right now :crying: thanks in advance guys!

So I managed to fix the problem. When you root this phone or in fact just flash a custom recovery like TWRP, it changes the model of the phone, If you unroot the phone you won't be able to receive OTAs anymore even if you are on stock ROM, you'll always get an error at the end of the update even if you do it manually, if you are dumb like me and didn't make a backup of your stock system, you won't find any help on the internet more than to install a custom ROM and learn to live with the errors and bugs. I did not want that so to be able to get the phone to its factory state, what I did was this:
1. Download: stock recovery image for Le s3 x522 (official, you can find it anywhere), LeEco_X522_5.8.019S_OTA.zip, bootloader-20S-s2.zip, twrp_s3.img (the chinese TWRP recovery) and S2_X522-NA-OP-IFXNAOP5802102141S-5.8.021S.zip
2. Save those zips to the root of the phone, obviously the .img files you are going to flash them through your PC
3. Put the phone in bootloader mode. command: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (the official recovery)
4. fastboot boot twrp (the chinese one)
5. From this step what I did was pure luck
6. wipe cache and dalvik and install LeEco_X522_5.8.019S_OTA.zip
7. wipe cache and dalvik and install bootloader-20S-s2.zip
8. wipe cache and dalvik and install S2_X522-NA-OP-IFXNAOP5802102141S-5.8.021S.zip
9. Reboot
How and Why did this worked I don't know, I am a noob but please try if you find yourself in the same situation as I was, you don't lose anything with trying, if this doesn't work don't blame me, this worked for my phone.
Greetings friends!
Thanks for putting this guide together, I am in a similar situation in that I reverted to stock everything (1. Installed YDSS chinese twrp, 2. Installed S2_X522-NA-OP-IFXNAOP5802012141S-5.8.020S.zip. This flash was supposed to have installed the stock recovery and overriden the ydss twrp, but didn't, I had to manually flash that after. Everything came back smooth but my updates also failed at recovery.
I am wondering where you got the LeEco_X522_5.8.019S_OTA.zip, bootloader-20S-s2.zip & twrp_s3.img from?
Nice to hear you finally got it to work ! Aren't the X520 and the X522 the same phone ? Why official ROMs are not compatible ?
Hi,
I'm sure someone else will have had my problem but I can't seem to find a straight forward solution.
I am wanting to upgrade my Samsung S7 Edge, SM-G935F Exynos, to the latest Lineage OS with Android 10 as Samsung are no longer supporting my phone. The phone is unlocked as supplied from Samsung.
I downloaded Odin v3.14 and successfully flashed TWRP 3.4.0.0 hero.2lte.img.tar. I activated Developer Options and OEM unlock before flashing.
I can enter TWRP but am unsure what I do regarding the Unmodified System Partition options on the 1st TWRP screen so I hit 'Keep Read Only' and then 'Reboot' only to find that the phone attempts to restart, I see the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge splash screen which then goes off and restarts again repeatedly, so I can't check if all my data etc. is ok on the phone. I did back up Whatsapp and made s Smart Switch backup too but forgot to do Samsung & Google account backups before the flashing.
I'm assuming I've missed something out in the flashing procedure but am not sure of exactly what. I have previously flashed and upgraded Galaxy S3, S3 Mini & a Tab2 10.1 using earlier TWRP versions so it's not that I'm a total beginner. I also tried to do a rom backup via TWRP but that failed and also a wipe Dalvik cache but that also failed.
Please advise:
1. what I've done wrong if anything?
2. Best way to restore the phone without losing existing data if possible perhaps with stock rom flashing? I could try the Smart Switch Emergency Software recovery & Initialisation but I understand that resets the phone to Factory settings loosing all data.
3. Procedure to flash Lineage rom that's 'idiot proofed'?
Thanks in advance.

1] You didn't formatted /data and/or flashed magisk or supersu after booting into twrp first time.
Note that you need to format /data under wipe in twrp and type yes and then again reboot in twrp. This is necessary step to disable encryption. And after that flash magisk without any reboot or flash your required rom by following your respective rom thread.
Please note that keeping system read only will cause you to flash in systemless root mode like magisk or super su in systemless mode. There is no difference between normal root mode and systemless root mode except that you will need to allow system modifications in twrp in normal root which will in turn trigger dm verity check and you will need to flash no verity zip to make phone bootable when system modification method (normal root) is selected. Plus system modification will cause certain apps to detect root easily plus increasing complications like I said above. So just keep read only and flash magisk and you will get root in systemless mode without any cons !
Here, you said you're getting a verification screen after rebooting twrp..
This can be caused either by.
1. Not formatting /data after booting twrp for first time
2. Not flashing magisk after formatting /data
3. Enabling system modifications and not flashing no verity zips/magisk
4. Oem unlock is not enabled..
2] You cannot restore data if you didn't back it up before messing with it, or you made a titanium backup/twrp backup.
Smart switch cannot flash phone anymore ..
Yes, flashing stock firmware using home_csc in odin, will not delete data and may restore your phone, but no guarantee that it will work, you can try though. Thats why its strictly advised to do backup before messing your phone in anyway..
3. Pls refer or ask in your respective rom thread.

Thanks for your reply Shah though I'm still a bit confused by it.
UnIock OEM was enabled as was USB debugging.
Fortunately, I was able to reflash the stock rom and phone is working again but what sort of backup are you indicating in part 2. above), NAND, Smartswitch or just back up to google, Samsung & Whatsapp accounts?
In 1). of your reply you say 'You didn't formatted /data and/or flashed magisk or supersu after booting into twrp first time.

I thought that if I do format /data my data would be lost and I want to make a NAND backup of the existing rom and data before flashing/modifying but if that doesn't loose the data, I assume then the steps are as follows:
1. Flash TWRP with Odin
2. Boot into Recovery-TWRP
3. Tap on the Read Only button on the 1st TWRP screen
4. Format /data under wipe in TWRP and tap yes and then reboot in TWRP. - Do you mean reboot the phone into TWRP of just go back into the TWRP main menu & when do I make the NAND backup?
5. Flash magisk or supersu from SD card no reboot
6. Flash Lineage OS rom from SD card.
7. Reboot.
Please correct any errors above as I've now tried 3 times since my original post without success but always managed to reflash the stock rom to get me going again.

Thats why you read forums again and again and unless you are sure and know what you're doing, don't proceed with these things and read again.

Upto you which backup you prefer, saving data on separate storage is the main goal as rooting and flashing custom rom would erase all your data from phone.

What you mean exactly ? What doesn't loose the data ? Flashing custom rom first time/rooting always erases your data and yes you need to backup before flashing/modifying.

When do you make nand backup?? Lol, at this point your phone would have nothing to backup, you should have made a backup the first time you tried modifying your phone. Because flashing stock rom like you said you did many times, already formats the phone.
If you mean you want to backup your phone again, then you can't backup in twrp in this stage. Backup before flashing twrp through any means.
Step 5 is correct, I don't know about step 6. I never flashed lineage and have no experience about it. Pls refer lineage's respective rom thread for exact steps. Good luck

Thanks again Shah for your reply/help.
I followed the instructions and got the lineage rom installed and Gapps but I don't think Gapps installed properly as I wasn't able to restore any of the saved data from my google account and it wouldn't allow me to add any other accounts except email so for now I've restored the stock rom and my data.
Is there another Android 10 rom you can recommend besides lineage that will have a similar appearance to Samsung?

I don't recommend any rom except a stock rooted debloated one.. (like Alexndr's devbase)
Reason : because full custom roms have a high chance to mess up your phone's efs and permanent soft brick issues.
But, I'm in love with infinity wallpapers, dark mode and android 10 in general like all others these days.. so if you really want samsung android 10 for S7 edge, then Floyd V4 is your best bet.. see on rom and software developer section of s7 edge to find floyd v4. Its a s9 android 10 one ui 2 port...
Personally, I'm using latest alexndr's devbase rom. Because I'm still paranoid about fully custom or ported roms
Alexndr's devbase is a full stock oreo - debloated rom. Which has option to root during flashing in twrp too. Its perfect for my needs.
But maybe soon, I will change to Floyd v4 to experience the future.. who knows

Shah,
Many thanks for the recommendation of the FloydQ rom.
I installed it yesterday after making all backups inc. Smartswitch.
Very easy to install both from flashing and Aroma installation viewpoints. Ran 1st time without a glitch and phone now thinks its an S9+ running Android 10 a la Samsung. I even managed to transfer my Smartswitch backup to my wife's old S7 Edge and then used Smartswitch to transfer from that phone to the 'S9+'.
Only glitch was logging into my Samsung account but sorted that as well so all in all very happy so far.:good:

I wanted to upload a new rom to my phone (pine, 16GB), but it will never boot. Always after rebooting, TWRP will be loaded again. I'm tried multiple ROMs (LineageOS, DotOS, MokeeOS ), but the problem occurs for all rom. TWRP says, flash succed for every one system, but not booting after reboot.
I'm used twrp-3.5.0_9-20210101-pine-arm64 version. Only I can do flash a stock rom using MiFlash, but no custom rom via TWRP.
Mi device is correctly unlocked via Official Unlock Tool app.
Can you tell me why?
Thanks
Maybe try another twrp version or another completely like OrangeFox can't really tell you why i don't have as much knowledge in why or how it works but i have tried a lot on mine so this should be ur first troubleshooting step from my point of view also have you flashed the ROMs with their instructions some say the sequence you should format or wipe ur data etc...
Working for now,
The problem was that I didn't choose to Format data
