No vibrations at all since Oreo update - help! - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

Hello,
I updated my Vz GS7 edge last night. Now no matter what I toggle or how much I reboot, I have NO vibrations. No haptic keyboard (or whatever it's called in oreo) nothing.
I was hoping not to do a full wipe.
Are there some buried settings in this ridiculous OS?
So far I hate Oreo! it's no improvement at all.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks!

Did you fine a solution for the problem?
I have the same problem.
Also in the Samsung test menue (type *#0*# on the dial pad) the phone doesn't vibrate.
I send a message to samsung support and they told me that I have to send my phone to them

vibrate doesnt work after 2.2 update via kies :(

Hi Everyone
After doing some testing from my other thread about the sleep mode ive relise the vibration in my phone doesnt work at all. For msgs or txts.
I have set the intensity level up to the highest and wnt into diag mode *#0*#
but wont vibrate at all.
Anyways have any idea how to fix it ? It used to work with 2.1 (only got the phone a few days ago) and used kies to update to 2.2
thanks again everyone
Had the same problem. You need to turn up the vibration intensity, even if you don't use haptic feedback.
Back up your data and try a factory reset .
jje
Thanks for that guys
Tried both suggestions both nothing seemed to fix.
Rebooted the phone a few times and seems to be working now for some reason..
Rebooted a few more times and still woking so am happy.
Just need to work out how to get sms software to tell me how many characters im using (and i'll be happy).
Few other minor bugs like sometimes a random screen will pop up, and the touch screen seems verrry sensitive. like when im sms'ing if my finger is a few mm away from the key it will be pressed, but probs just me. All in all seems like a nice phone
thanks again for the assistance.

Weaker button vibrate?

I got my Focus Friday and have been using it a lot since. This morning, it seems like the capacitive button feedback is much weaker; it's barely noticable when I press the button.
Notification vibrate seems fine as far as I can tell, and I don't care much about the buttons. I'm just curious about
A) Has anyone else experienced this, and
B) Could this lead to other vibration problems?
Thanks.
I seem to have the same problem. In fact, all vibration has gotten weaker. I am guessing it has something to do with dust? perhaps dust is jamming the vibration motor.
Yes!
I have this problem as well and from what I can tell, it's definitely not dust-related. My guess is it's some kind of firmware issue. I've done a hard reset of the phone (AT&T's stupid suggestion) and that didn't help at all. They tried to tell me it was because "I have so many apps installed and they can affect the functionality of the phone"...BS.
If you go into the Diagnosis App, the button presses are MUCH stronger like they should be. Enter ##634# in dialer and then call. Then enter *#0842# to go to the Vibration Test. I did this a selected "Vibrator On" then exited. This fixed my problem for about a day, then it came back. I've talked to AT&T 3 times about this and finally got to an Escalation Officer. I have to go to the store now so they can "verify" and probably tell me it's fine. The people on the phone said it's still vibrating so "technically it works," which is ridiculous.
I would try this troubleshooting stuff first if I were you to see if it helps but it was a temporary fix for me. I miss a ton of messages and calls when my phone is on silent because of this. The phone isn't working properly so this is a warranty fixable problem in my opinion. Good luck.
This happened to my focus in winter night, when it became cold the vibration didn't work properly. But after some time (and several restart) it's worked as normal

[Q] Vibrator is not working at all

Suddenly vibrator functionality of my yureka is not working. It was working properly since I purchased it. First of all I thought it could be due to some sort of settings related to vibrations but I have checked/unchecked all the options available in setting. But still not figure out the problem.
Please help me. thanks in advance.

Wow! My Samsung S6 Edge + reboots when i receive phone calls. Only from certain numbe

Hi!
I have this strange issue where my S6 Edge+ semi-reboots when someone calls me. (right after the notification of being called appears) Not from all numbers, only one (probably from others too, couldn't test further). I've tried to wipe the cache, delete cache from "phone" application, "contact app" etc, but to no avail.
After a few more tries, i tried to put the mobile on "silent" and "mute" and guess what: I could receive the phone calls from that particular number. Well, when i activate the sound and proceed to call the S6 Edge+ again, it reboots every time.
The most interesting thing is that when i tried to call my S6 Edge+ from other phones i had no problems. I've tried to call from a landline and from another S6 Edge+ and it worked without issues. The reboot of my S6 Edge+ only happens when i have the "sound" enabled and i call it from a "Galaxy A5". When i switch to "silent" or "mute", i can receive calls from that Galaxy A5.
This is very odd. Also, after some of the reboots that happened during being called, my screen started to display some skewed colors. Something similar to 8bit colors. It usually fixes itself when i shut down and power-on the display via the "power" button
Is there a fix for this ? A factory reset seems like such a bad idea, considering that i have a lot of data in my phone.
Thank you!

Random vibrating?

Is anyone else having their phone do a random vibrate like a notification came in, but you don't see anything showing up as coming in to have it do that?
Advanced Features->Smart Alert is causing it. It will vibrate upon pickup detection if you have a missed call or unread message.
I've been experiencing the same problem on my S8+ and it's driving me crazy. Notification reminder, smart alert and all these other features are off. Really don't know what to do, I'm guess it's a hardware issue.

Do you have Bixby disabled? It was happening to me when I hit the Bixby button with Hello Bixby disabled.

Hmm, ok. I just turned it Off. It was happening while the phone was already in my hand and I'd be doing other stuff. No calls or msgs were coming in when it happened though. Will see if this stops it.
Settings -> Accessibility -> Notification Reminder -> Turn Off
Hope that works. If not I remember back in my S6 days there was a menu in accessibility also for one of the categories where it had heptic feedback for sounds and everytime there was movement or sound it would vibrate. I cant find it though

Same here, I doubt that it's related to notification reminder. I had it turned off since I bought the phone.
If there is nothing happening (messages coming etc.) I think the vibration might come from the false haptic feedback in home button. Mine does it quite regularly and it is starting to drive me crazy. I hope it is software issue as the DOA isn't available anymore and I don't want to give it for the repair just yet.
My Phone also vibrates when my finger is near the fingerprint sensor and cant read it

Is your bluetooth connected to anything? Once your phone's bluetooth disconnects from the other device, the phone vibrates
I have the same issue. It makes me crazy ! Samsung - any ideas?
Same here. I'm going nuts if nobody knows a solution.
That's since S4 days, people.
Mine does it too while I'm holding it. No notification on the status bar. It will just vibrate by itself.
My S4 never did that and that doesn't mean we should be fine with it.
It happens to me with the home button, the vibration isnt reliable and it sometimes vibrated 3 times.

So I uninstalled an app called Samsung Pay, then my phone just stopped getting the random vibrating.

It is the Edge Panel. I had to turn off the Edge Panel to stop the vibration. Or you can go to settings and turn off the vibration for activating the Edge Panel. What happens is when you hold your phone, your palms sometimes activate the edge panel.
Since we are at it , while am driving and having the phone between my legs it turns on by itself. no vibration or anything. Anyone with similar issues?
P.S No notifications whatsoever. System or Internet based.
