Is this the real community ??
Why does not XDA talk about this? Maybe not to ruin the sponsorship?
https://github.com/github/dmca/blob/master/2018/2018-06-14-SenseTime-2.md

You might want to provide a proper write up of what this is because there's really no context provided by you here.

The real XDA (xda-developers) does in fact link to the forums (forum.xda-developers) every one in a while in a post. So idk where you premise is.
If this site was not legit, they wouldn't link to it, would they?

Craigslist add

I found this add on craigslist
he is charging $25 to just install android on HD2, I dont know if its right or not???
He's basically scamming you of something you can do for free.
You're already on XDA, how easy is it to use the search function and learn to do it yourself? Also, you have a variety of rom's to pick from ... and I don't think 25 dollars is right. What would developers think when they find out their work is being sold for profit.
My advice, don't.
Thats my point exactly, how would developers feel when their hard work is being sold without even informing them????
About me I already had tried android on my HD2 and right now happily using WP7 rom on my HD2.
My main point was can't we do anything to stop people like this making money from others hardwork
How many of these threads do there have to be?
He's not selling android, he's not selling the dev's work, read what it says, he's selling a service of putting it on to someone's phone. You'd be surprised how many people are still wary to touch their device in-case something goes wrong, so paying someone else who knows how it's done is no issue at all, people buy and sell services to each other every damn second of the day, this is no different.

FYI I am not flaming XDA with junk, I just wanted to make sure that XDA members are okay with this kind of services.
I owe a lot to XDA and because of XDA I am in love with my gadgets.
If everyone is okay with these kind of services, then I dont have any problem.
Well do a search and you would of seen dozens of threads just like this

If you're not advertising for the guy, how about removing the link to the advertisement?
As it stands, it seems like you're advertising for him.

I am not advertising for anyone, and I believe that whoever has clicked on that link is a XDA member, and I dont think that any XDA member would give someone $25 to install android on their HD2, instead they will do it on their own as lots of information is available on XDA forums.
I kept the link so that if someone from XDA need to take action against that guy, they can go through that link. But as everyone is okay with this type of services I am removing the link.
I would also like MOD's to delete this thread as it is of no use now.
Sorry once again to everyone if I have made any mistake by creating this new thread
Thank you for drawing my attention to that.

MOds...just close this thread.....useless piece of info and discussion...we dont care what craigslist sell....
Seriously backlashsid, calm down. The OP was simply stateing his aggravation over people selling developers hard work, we at XDA are all aggravated by this, but it cannot be stopped. The OP did nothing wrong.

why not? at least he not hiding an affiliate link behind a url shortener. im glad hes being upfront and honest that he is a reseller and if he can provide phones at a significant discount, who cares if he makes a commision. it is his job after all to sell phones and contracts.
i see no issue here.

I never said that I was a moderator, simply giving the op some friendly advice. Not sure why you feel a need for sarcasm over showing someone new the XDA rules. I didn't make the rules ... it's really not necessary to flame the messenger.

Id hardly say that this is showing the op the rules. You sarcasticly opined "not gonna work around here"
You didn't cite a rule or even a reason until I prompted you.
How does that help the op to just tell him not to post this, but give no reason why? I honestly thought you were implying that the users wouldn't like it beccause its an affiliate link. You never mentioned a single rule in your first post to him.

Galaxy Nexus Boot, Recovery, and System dump (NEW!!)

Idk if you read the post that you linked. It specifically asks not rehost the files. While we are in no obligation to follow requests from other forums its common courtesy to support other developers when they do so much for the community as a whole. Something to keep in mind...
Otherwise thanks for the link!

i just thought the original host was horrible since you gotta wait 15 minutes between downloads unless you have an account. but alright, i wont rehost.

It means that porting ics to other devices should devices should be a lot easier. The more pieces we have the better a chance of it happening.

(I'm assuming u don't know who your talking)
If u consider xda a mall, then yes I am lol. Still as I said, its a matter of courtesy. We are under no obligation to follow any request from other forums(that I'm aware of at least). I said something because paul is a huge figure as Android community goes and he deserves respect as does everyone. Android community is built on the backs of people liked him.
In comparison your post is pointless & if it want explicitly directed at me I would be removing it as it is unconstructive and is a direct attack (for lack of a better weird) on another user which is not tolerated. as it its I'll let it slide, but don't try and push it, I doubt another mod will do the same.

You know that you're repeating common knowledge, right? Everybody knows what we need! This thread is assuming that the devs are just sitting around, doing nothing. They're doing all they can, dammit!

Good one for a first post. Welcome my friend on the forum that has the worst pertinent debate per thread ratio. We achieved it since no driver's found for the device and NOBODY's giving a single (Let's pretend we can replace the F-word by fornication) fornication. Motorola cancelled the update, Nvidia's too much closed to their end-user customers so everybody's talking about making impossible things that would be possible if ONE impossible thing (Like someont at Nvidia/Moto heard us... But both companies just concentrate on making money).
Welcome again my friend.

We do not accept device requests

If you have and you want support for it, find a developer with the same device and ask for a port to it. We will not officially support any device outside of oppo/Nexus/OnePlus and begging on here for device support is a futile effort. We will not be accepting or acknowledging any more device requests.
Enough with the posts begging for device support.

People should see if the paranoid android legacy team has support for their device. No idea if they accept device requests though.

WTF does a custom kernel have to do with this thread or forum section?
Thank you for being so helpful twt! Should have known with a name like pirateghost it was going to be a non starter. You could have at least made a suggestion! Not everyone has the luxury of sitting on their arses all day trawling through f#£%&& forums for the right #£%%&- answer! I can just tell from your answer that your between the age of 25 and 28 full of self inflated arrogance, what's that you said?? Oh I couldn't hear that, perhaps if you climbed down from your high horse! If you read my post I was very civil, was no need for you to spout ****e! I suppose it was naive of me to expect any help? crawl back out your own arse next time and be civil asswipe!

I'm not the moron that posted a question about a kernel that has NOTHING to do with Paranoid Android, in a thread discussing NO DEVICE REQUESTS.
My response was perfectly sane and not rude. Yours proves you have issues regarding basic comprehension and common sense.
Perhaps you should learn how to use forums and stop lashing out at people asking about your inability to understand basic concepts of human interaction.
It's kind of funny that you seem to think you know me. You don't. My son is more mature than you are.
Oh and I'm locking this thread. If you want to continue to discuss how stupid you appear at this time, we can do so in a PM. Or we can just get a mod involved and have you removed from this forum.
You could have been kinder to begin with if you didn't want the response I gave you. A bit of patience and understanding im a very reasonable man, a point in the right direction would have been the kind thing to do. Clearly you are incapable of that and your response also clearly indicates getting on the defence means you must feel a little guilty about your response. I'm going to do the right thing and apologise to you for getting on my high horse. If you have any back bone you will do the same. And please don't threaten me in the future. There are thousands of forums with very helpful people, just decided to use XDA because the app is actually quite good and convenient. I am sorry for posting in the wrong forum, trust me I will never do it again if crap if what I have to deal with, a complete waste of everyone's time and energy, wouldn't you agree?
There was literally nothing wrong with my first response. There was nothing malicious or rude in it at all. Period. You are the one that got all butthurt about being asked why you were posting a completely unrelated question, in this forum section, within this topic.
Clear ... unfortunately no PA for me ...

Thanks
