Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the Vivo Nex, all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the Vivo Nex is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Had it a day but not really had a lot of time to play with it that much. Have managed to get a Vivo account to unlock some of the restricted features (don't ask how as I don't want the guy who helped me swamped with requests - sorry).
Overall, and coming from an iPhone, I quite like it. Not a huge fan of Android overall but so bored with phones at the moment I couldn't resist something that actually bushed the boundaries a bit and wanted to innovate.
Couple of things that do annoy me (maybe just Android and not this phone though) - no real autofill for 1Password or Dashlane - the options are there but it doesn't work - think an issue with the fingerprint process.
The in screen fingerprint reader is OK, quite hit and miss. Had loads of misses with a screen protector on (factory one) but when took this off it was much better.
Sadly no NFC - does anyone know if I could use an Android Wear watch for payments if it has NFC but the phone doesn't ???
No split screen action - again option seems to be there but always says "app does not support this feature"
Overall phone seems snappy, screen is amazing, camera is good - need to spend some more time with it.
So far I've been able to install pretty much anything so no complaints there.
Quite like the look of the interface but then I am coming from the restrictions of iOS !!

Hey. Before considering this device; I was surfing on the Nex threads to see if BL unlocking and root is available etc. Seen your post and wanted to input, no idea if this option is available on your device. The one under Settings » Developer options(Might be in different menu) » Force activities to be resizable. Using this option to get split screen support for all apps on Miui and Aosp based roms. Hopefully you've got it there too.

After two days I can write. The best hardware I have ever had and the worst software I have ever seen.
Lol. Straight to the case
which Network are you all running this phone?
My 2 cents (Black 256G):
Hardware : Good overall, 845, UFS, lots of RAM, nice 1080p screen that's quite readable under sunlight ( I think my S9+ is slightly better), good camera (although the selfies look like I had plastic surgery and loads of makeup in the default setting). Sound output is actually quite good with the DAC activated - I think its comparable to an old $150 Fiio external DAC that I had. Under screen finger print sensor is good. I think its about 80% for me. Signal strength is good, WiFi range is good (about 95% of the S9+ in terms of throughput). The in screen earpiece is OK in terms of loudness and clarity, but sometimes people voices sounded a bit funny. Its a shame that a top of the line model does not have NFC, wireless charge nor SD card support. It isn't waterproof but there is rubber seal on the SIM tray so I think water resistance would be reasonably good.
Software : Its .... well, it takes some time for me to adjust. I think you'll feel more at home if you had switched from an iPhone. (OK, I admit it, software is dreadful. It'll be better after you install your favorite launcher, change the navigation bars back to navigation keys, uninstall useless apps, etc) At least installing Google apps is easy. You can actually just add an Gmail account and it will install the necessary GAPPs.
Despite all these bad things I still love my Nex - just the selfie cam and under glass finger print scanner will make of for all its shortcomings..
Super smartphone sauf le launcher
Goodbye Vivo Nex S, have sold and moved on. exactly 2 years since january 2019 i had now.
Things i regret and think:
Shouldn't have removed the screen protector from back and front, back was broken because glass and replace before selling, and a tiny scratch in front screen that look like a scorpion xD.
Battery was at 3200mah of the 4000mah estimate according to an app i installed but good standby and screen time.
Had to disable alot of apps that vivo runs in background through adb.
Was hopping for root since the beginning for some kind of stereo speaker mod using the call speaker, only manage to get it working with only either one or the other producing sound.
Still very fast, played Genshin impact very nicely.
no issues whatsoever with the pop camera, even pressed down around 10 times in 2 years with finger to show friends that it work as a fail safe.
Still no full black dark mode, only grey.
Very good main camera, no complains for what was expected back then, the second camera barelly used with the depth sensor
Lack of L1 Certification for Netflix.
The Amoled screen is very good but if its very sunny i can't read anything.
Not going back to Vivo again due to lack of information and community for software, everything in china basically.
And i think thats all i remember.
Have a nice life vivo users

I know there has been a lot of these but maybe I can help with someone's decision, so here we go.
The OPO has served me great for the past couple months and it's almost a perfect phone. :fingers-crossed:
Background:
One of the things I liked most about this phone was the unboxing experience. It was just simply amazing, amazing quality. As soon as I unboxed it, I installed adb drivers and unlocked the bootloader. I flashed twrp and rooted. Then I installed some of my favorite root apps such as greenify, AdBlockPlus, xposed framework (Boot-manager, App Settings, YouTube AdAway etc.), Avast (Firewall Features), Orbot (For using the TOR network), and SuperSU, and ADBD Insecure. I also made a custom boot animation and changed it, as well as the boot logo. I made a few changes to the file system and installed a few binaries.
My device has about 6 pages of apps from over the months. I use a lot of them and some of them I just have because "it might be helpful". One more thing to mention, I also installed the Amazon App store so I can get some apps from there. Now lets talk about themes: I have about 6 different themes each applied to a certain part of the ui and honestly it looks amazing. I'm spending too much time at the intro so lets cut to the chase...
Performance:
The snapdragon 801 makes everything liquid smooth and I have had no issues with performance what so ever. One thing I should mention is that my AnTuTu benchmark score dropped from when I first got it to now, this was expected as I am running a couple heavy apps in the background (ex. Xposed, Avast, Greenify, 5 messaging apps, Sync, Smart news etc.). The performance dropped a little over the months but the UI is still liquid smooth.

Battery:
The battery performance is very, very good and I have had no issues with it. I usually get about 2-3 days on a single charge with medium to heavy use. That being said, I turn off my phone at night... which probably has a major impact on screen-on time. Charging takes about 1-2 hours for me using the stock cable and power brick which is pretty average for any smartphone. The device battery is good and it is enough to power the beast inside.
Display and Touch:
The OPO display is good but nowhere as amazing as OLED. The 401 PPI makes everything look really sharp and I have had no issues with clarity. Also to mention, my device does not have the yellow tint problem although the colors look a bit warm. This is expected of course as it is an IPS LCD screen. The viewing angles are amazing and the ability to change between software and hardware keys is great. The touch is probably one of the most disappointing parts of this phone. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. The screen is over sensitive and it leaves ghost touches behind making it very hard to type fast. But the auto-correct works like a charm and balances out the effects. Hopefully in CM12 this will be improved.
Software:
Just the plain ol' cyanogenmod experience which is one of the main reasons I bought this phone. I'm just hoping I can get the CM12 ota before the partnership completely fades away. :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Camera:
It sucks. Just really really bad. Now that said, I believe it is a software fault rather than a hardware one. The Color OS camera app is much much better and that might solve the issues for some of you. Granted I have been able to get some amazing shots when I applied medium-heavy post processing they turned out just like one from a DSLR. (Will be uploading examples soon)
Design:
The design is nice especially the sandstone textured back, It provides a lot of grip as well as "looks". The metal ring around the display gives it a more premium feel, but I would not have minded paying more for an all metal phone. The bamboo back cover looks promising and I am looking into getting one.
Will be adding more in the near future... Ran out of ideas
I have been using it for a month now. Its an amazing phone considering the price. No lags or anything. Additionally the camera is quite good and very fast. The build quality is also very good. One thing I particularly like - how short the charging time is (less than 2 hours from empty to full).
The only thing that I am worried about the future of official software support. I certainly hope that the OxygenOS from OnePlus will be a clean iteration (like AOSP), not something like FlymeOS or MIUI; and that OnePlus will continue to provide essential updates till the end of 2015 (assuming that CM will stop supporting it after CM12s).
I agree!
i just ordered one 64gb for my wife, her Galaxy S2 just died (almost died, i must find her efs backup, then repair it), can't wait to receive and play with it
i hope the +1 will be too big for her little hands, so i can give her my Nexus 5
many thanks for the review
well after a month and a z5p change (camera fault) this i my experiece
battery:for me i very good. my z5p is paired with a pebble time steel and a fitbit hr and when i'm in car with my garmin by smatphonelink. i power up at 8.00 am and the battery have 10/15 % at 2.00 am.considering i'm coming from a note edge that
i had to charge in the afternoon with the same usage and non wearable connect i'm realy happy.
screen: excellent , apart the the angle view, but not a great problem
camera:i expect more from the camera, i't a good camera but not great
look and fell: for me the most beatifull device in his catergory, and materials are great
now the bad:
heat: omg it's a fire...
sd: i've got sd problem ,like some photos become unusable some i can see only in album but i cannot share or copy on pc, and some kind of flaac are unredable, but dunno if it's realy the phone or the sd
last some consideration about two sony accessories
the original cover with window: the worst cover i've ever seen.... no magneti clip on the front so if the phone fall down the screen is full expose, the window is a magnet for fingerprint
original craddle: not bad the materials are not great but it works good
Grazie Luca!
Idc if its hot XDDDD its winter here so u know good to have em hands warm!!
you should replace and buy a new 1sd card. i use 64gig sd card and no issues for me, didnt try the flaac though. but for the pictures no problem at all.
I also came from a note edge and I so far am missing:
Download booster, that thing came in handy.
Lack of decent cases and stands there is nothing for it really and even tho I had a z2 with no issues I am worried about all the glass
for a very good case look here http://www.tetded.com/home/en/339-xperia-z5-premium-e6853-z5-premium-dual-e6833-e6883 no magnetic flip but excellente materials and great look i bought the Dijon II (Venus: Black Croc/Toffee ) version and with my gold z5p is a pleasure to see.
for stand and charge i've bought the original sony dock and it works well.
for glass i never use a protection don't like nothing over the screen but some kind of glass protection sure come
The Sony dock is portrait tho, I need landscape shame the magnetic charger was left off
After One Month Z5P
MY Battery Performance on my Old Z2 is b better than Z5 Premium.

Do you get random disconnects with your Pebble Time Steel? I've been getting them inconsistently but enough to throw me off cause sometimes it will disconnect and stay that way, and sometimes it just stays connected. Other times it will disconnect and reconnect. Also, have you ever faced the Android OS battery drain? I used to have it. Not sure if it's gone but it's getting less and less now.
yes i've got random disconect but i think it's a bluettoh problem cause i've got random issue with other bluetooth device.
And yes sometimes, luckly only few time, i've got some strange battery drain and phone become hot as hell.
hope with 6.0 sony correct the problem
Here mine after a month:
- camera is not better compared with my previous phone - sg note 4. I compared and still comparing (with another stock 5.1.1 note 4 in my family). Sony just is far behind with focus speed and accuracy, photos sharpness, lack of burst with just clicking on the shoot buton.. I am disappointed from Sony and dxomark.
- generic screen backlight is again far behind sami.. I feel like my old days with nexus 4.
- loud speaker/s are not loud enough. Yes they are two in stereo mod which is great but..
- fingerprint scaner/sensor is not accurate enough even after registering multiple slots with the same finger using different angles/positions. Around 10-15% I need to unlock with code. Yes I like it but this is not a finished product. IPhones handle this much better.
Now the good things:
I am fokin love this phone! It is perfectly looking (well a centimeter smaller boarders on top and bottom will be 100% satisfaction but ..)
This almost pure Android is a beast! Can't even compare it with Samsung tw (even on their last flagships where it is still unpolished and woody). Perfect memory management, simplicity with some Sony's features. I managed to remove 99% of the bloatware, and the rest 3 apps which are protected I just disabled.
4k vids are so detailed and beautiful that I started to think someone upgraded my eyes! Stunning!
Buttons (vol rockers, cam, power) are perfectly positioned by my opinion (well cam start speed must be improved for sure)
I managed to overheat the SOC only with wot blitz and hd recording, but still the heating pipes are perfectly set. Excellent work from Sony!
Battery performing much better compared with note 4.. It is so durable!
At the end, I can say - the perfect phone for me. I totally love it.
I received it today, so happy!
I will come back here after a few days of use (even if the discussion says "after a month"
First disappointment: if you register your fingerprint it forces you to to unlock the device only that way. I just want to register my fingerprint for security purposes, for example paying on google play store or logging in apps like paypal.
If you want a simple double tap to unlock your device with no passwords, fingerprints, patterns ecc. you have to DELETE your fingerprints. Yes, you have to DELETE them. But why?? It's really stupid.
And, by the way, this is another really stupid thing:

Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the Moto G7 Power, all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the Moto G7 Power is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
I've only had my G7 Power for a couple of days now but I'm pretty happy with it so far. I'm coming from a Note 4 -> OnePlus 5 ->Note 4 (OP5 screen died). The lack of screen resolution hasn't bothered me much yet. I'm really a fan of the screen size, though. I miss the larger phablet form factor. I really needed the longer battery life because of my job(s). I bought a thick, tough-ish case for it already.
The only other phone that I've been considering since my OP5 died is whatever they come out with for the OP7 since I really like the idea of the under-screen fingerprint sensor since there are very few front-facing sensors these days. I don't really dig the location of the sensor on this phone. But overall, this is a great phone for what would probably be half the cost of what the OP7 will most likely cost.
I enjoy having the latest Android version on it. The fluidity from having a near stock Android experience is unparalleled.
The only feature that it's really missing is the NFC sensor. But I'm not majorly bothered by it because I almost never used Android Pay.
Given how budget friendly this phone is but having some common modern smartphone features, I rate it 7.5/10. It's not for everybody, though. It's really only for people that value battery life over most other phone features
I'm coming from an LG V30. I bought the G7 Power for two reasons:. Superior battery and LTE band 71.
I am pleasantly surprised how nice the display is. Reading reviews you'd think it has a blurry and grainy screen. Honestly though, the screen is perfectly fine. Brightness is phenomenal and clarity is solid.
Battery life is the best you will find and having dual SIM capability and and an sdcard compensates for only 32GB of internal storage.
The size and shape of the phone makes for easy usage and the phone never seems excessively large.
The OS runs smoothly, no stuttering or lag is noticeable.
It's just a really solid phone, that combined with it's price makes it an unbelievable bargain.
The only people that should not consider this phone are hardcore gamers.

How's the camera? I have a Moto E5 Plus, considering switching to Metro for the G7 Power. Only thing I really don't like about my E5 Plus is the camera and it seems like it's the same one in the G7 Power. It's not terrible, you just have to have a ton of light and be close up to something.
Three pics, three separate camera apps:
GC - GCamera
SC - Stock Camera
OC - Open Camera
Overcast skies, no direct sun, early am.
I'd break it down better, but I'm turkey hunting right now.

Hi Everybody
This will be my final thoughts review of the OPPO Find X5 Pro in Ceramic White that I received from OPPO as being part of their ambassador program. This phone has become my daily driver since getting it. The Phone I received comes with 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM.
Build Quality and Design:
After I unboxed the phoned you are greeted with a device that looks like it was moulded around the hardware on the inside due to the way the Ceramic on the back of the phone has been seamlessly made to incorporate the camera bump/cut out. When holding the phone at first, I thought the back would be a finger print magnet but no matter how hard I tried its very hard to even notice them. Coming from the beautiful curved Ceramic White back you swope round to the equally curved 6.7-inch LTPO2 AMOLED screen which is protected by the masters at Corning with their Gorilla Glass Victus and also has a peak refresh rate of 120Hz and HDR10+. The screen on the Find X5 pro also incorporates the front facing camera in the top left corner however this very hard to see with day-to-day usage the only time I see it is when I use the pinch to zoom feature of YouTube only in that use case do you see it on the screen. The phone also comes with stereo speakers which are located in the main earpiece and also on the bottom of the phone. Speaking of the bottom you will find more stunning curves that lead to the dual sim tray and the usb type-c port which can charge up to 80 watts fast charging.
Performance and Gaming
Inside this beast of a phone, you have the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 to give this some real performance gains plus it being able to better manage the battery you don’t need to sacrifice a whole lot of battery just to have a we gaming session. I have been playing games on my phone using not only installed gaming from the play store but also via Goggles Stadia platform and even when the phone feels warm to the touch the games that I have played from my naked eye can’t see any stuttering or dropped frames. The phone just keeps powering on and even if you do play games until you kill the battery having it charge up to 50% in around 12 minutes will have you gaming again. As a daily phone without gaming, I am impressed with how much the battery lasts. I work 12-hour shifts and with phones I have owned over the years I struggled to get full day’s work out of them without enabling battery saver modes. With the Find X5 Pro to this day I have not needed to enable such modes and even when I get home from work, I still have plenty of battery left to see me through until I go to bed.

Camera
Since getting this phone I have been trying to push the limits of its camera array consisting of three cameras 50MP Main Camera, 50MP Ultra-Wide-Angle Camera and a 13MP Telephoto Camera. No matter what I tried the images always came out clear with the exception of images that are taken at 20x zoom which will always look grainy to some extent. This phone also has the added benefit of having 5-Axis Optical Image stabilisation so when shooting photos are videos they will come out as if taken using a tripod as it does a fantastic job of keeping what’s in your viewfinder stable. I even decided to give the phone to my nephew to see how shaky he could make a video as he only 2 years old so runs about a lot yes there was some shaking in the resulting video however, I am still impressed as I know if given a phone without the Image stabilisation on the camera lens the video would have been awful to view. Having the ability to enable 10-bit colour as well really helps when taking photos at night time as it makes the colours pop as if a light was there. For avid photographer’s you can also enable the camera to output in RAW format for editing directly on the phone or exported to computer-based image editing software. On the front of the phone there is a 32MP camera which I have plenty of fun with as the nephew loves taking photos of himself so I have been using it as an excuse to build photo memories of him before he all grown up and doesn’t want photos taken with his uncle anymore☹. The camera system also has some secret sauce in the way of its MariSilicon X in house developed chip which allows you to shoot videos in near pitch black without losing details that you would on a normal phone camera. OPPO has even went a step more and joined with Hasselblad to tune colours to be more natural when taking photos and give it the feel of using a DSLR camera.
Notable Features:
Since OPPO have added their own style to android they have also added some tools which I think make it stand out more than the competition in the settings menu you will see an option for privacy in there you will find perfect tools to keep your phone safe for others to use if you forget to lock your phone. You have the ability to Lock apps, hide apps, private safe for all sorts of content to don’t was prying eyes seeing and a system cloner. The privacy menu also has options for notifying you when the camera or microphones are being used useful if sideloading apps that may have been modified to steal personal data or listen in on conversions. It also goes as far as to alert you if an app reads your clipboard data. When it comes to features the OPPO development team have also added a battery booster system that gives you an eta of how long the battery will last it also gives you optimisation tips to extent the battery even more or you can enable high performance mode to make your phone fly at the cost of battery draining quicker.

Conclusion
In conclusion this phone is an absolute beast every now and then I notice we small things that confirms to you that this is a flagship smartphone. Beaty and the beast comes to mind when describing this phone all beauty on the outside beast on the inside. Having the 80W SuperVOOC charger is perfect for the times I need some extra battery for going on long walks with my partner or on my own with earphones in. Having a smartphone that packs so much tech into it is amazing it true does feel like OPPO went back to the drawing board and reimagined what a flagship phone should have and to me they just went give it all the things and more. Also I would like to thank the @OPPO Ambassador Team once again for bring me along in this ride as an ambassador

Screen: 5/5
The LTPO2 AMOLED with its 1 Billion colours is really sick, I literally was cross-watching 4K YT videos on Find X5 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro and S22 Ultra, they’re all sleek but OPPO somehow makes the videos dramatically deep and sharp, allowing to see very precise details. The upgrade from Find X3 Pro I see on the specs side is in the screen refresh rate, the 120Hz are now dynamically, it feels that the dynamic range helps to save battery as well. The curved glass looks amazing, shaping the phone to a more premium appearance, sometimes I fat finger a bit with my thumb when holding it and have to get used to holding it on the frame. The range from 500 nits up to 1300 nits together with the HDR video mode on video play is most likely the reason that the experience of watching videos is very life-like.
Battery: 5/5
A 5,000mAh battery capacity, which supports 80W fast charging, and takes you 35 mins. to charge from zero to 100… and wait, the charger is included. What better flex could you make?
This 5000 mah battery is awesome, most likely the very best duration I ever experienced. Haven’t tried the 50W wireless charging yet.
Camera: 4/5
Every user of Asian smartphones was feeling weird at first when using the cam and experiencing these massively face changing filters, and that turning them off wasn’t always possible.. So yes, these times are over!
Here with the Find X5 Pro it feels like another massive step made forward by OPPO’s devs. The colours are bringing the greatest real-life experience so far with true colours, it might be the impact of the collab with Hasselblad. The Ultra Night Video shows its highest strengths in completely dark environments, with zero to low light impact, night shots in the streets are showing great colouring and sharpness too.
There are two downsides I personally see: The Find X3 Pro had a macro mode, it was pretty awesome to explore although you never really post these pics. Second point for me is the zoom. The 13MP 2x telephoto camera is working fine but feels miles behind other phones that come with 5x or 10x zoom.
Generally the picture and video quality is stunning, but that is to be expected for a flagship phone I guess. Oh and the stabilisation system (OIS) with its 5-axis makes it impossible to mess up shots.
Software: 4/5
ColorOS is a heavily customised version of Android 12, I think that’s separating two types of people in general.
It turned out that the OPPO UI continues to be my favourite so far, making the balance between stock Android and manufacturer customization. I personally feel safe to use it, especially with the latest focus on user security features. The downpoint as for most Android phones: The availability of updates.. I should have been able to upgrade but was travelling and couldn’t get it first hand.. Quick message to support solved it. The interface itself is pretty easy and efficient to use, it seems it also solved battery heating issues, mastering it now (so far) on a great level.
Backside: 5/5
I was surprised to see how a Ceramic phone feels in everyday usage, and it turned out to be pretty awesome. Usually however you try to protect your phone, you will get some tiny scratches.. I’m feeling safe using the Find X5 Pro without cover after the first week, btw. I’m using the black version, it’s basically like Chrome, mirroring, and even here, no way to get any scratch on it. That’s just crazy if you think about it!
A noteworthy point that can be highlighted as a huge plus is that it also allows wireless charging, I used a 30W charger in my car. Some may find the unique design appealing as a highlight, and wearing your phone in your pockets lets you understand how amazing it is to have no edges in the camera area, it’s literally clean all the time.
The hardest point for me to judge was the camera. The built-in tech is working smoothly and brings the OPPO on some areas at top levels, but the missing zoom options do hurt a bit.
Pros
Flagship-grade performance, high process stability
Very bright AMOLED with 120Hz and 1 billion colours
Outstanding battery performance, 80W Fast charging in 35 minutes
Amazing photo and night video quality, especially with low light
Unique design, lightweight model
Ceramic backside material
80W charger/cable and cover/protection included
Cons
Tele Camera would need more zoom options
Availability in EU
Pricey (partly with goodies)
Thanks. I like mine a lot, good battery life, super camera but the ceramic back is still slippy. I have the white one as I can't abide shiny mirror like finishes....
Disappointed by lack of font options (no bold font for example) and the two stock fonts are too similar. It's very smooth through the IU though, no stuttering (unlike the s22+ I had recently).
