[ROM] [7.0] [EKQ1] TrueStockN Custom ROM - Galaxy Note5 General

TrueStockN is a ROM I originally developed for T-Mobile's s6 edge+. I opened it to the international s6 edge+ as compatibility was possible since ROMs for F can be used on T, and my theory proved right. Next came T-Mobile's Note 5. This was a bit tricky, as issues came from installation on these devices. However, thanks to @keith2012, it was determined that all issues could be solved by installing a new kernel. So far only Poseidon Kernel has been reported to work wonders with this ROM for Note users, but other kernels have not yet been tested. If you would like to test this ROM or have questions, feel free to PM me or check out the main thread: TrueStockN

what's the point to post this in NOTE 5 development forum @Rehvix

Just letting Note 5 users know that if they want, they can install this ROM

Moved to General/Discussion as this is not an actual Dev Post.

One source for finding all the latest Galaxy Note custom ROMS

Alright everyone, Angelos from www.roms-db.com contacted me.
And i'm happy to let you know that after high demand, he's in the final
stages of adding Galaxy Note roms to his database of custom roms http://galaxynote.roms-db.com.
He would greatly appreciate it if everyone could check out his site and give some feedback if any information is wrong or missing. Also when there are any updates not mentioned (for example the android version (4.0.3
...))
The site for the Galaxy Note roms is http://galaxynote.roms-db.com
Thanks Angelos!
I would appreciate it if a moderator could make this a sticky since it's going to be a great help to the forum and the members/cooks!
Cheers!
excuse my curiosity, but what would be the benefits of that site compared to sammobile and dr ketan's thread?

If you check his site and see for yourself you'll understand. It's nothing like ketan's thread which only lists the official Samsung roms. I'm talking about custom roms updated daily. If you try searching for updated roms you'll find them in just a sec. It's easier for us it's easier for the cooks and it's a great way to find all the roms meant for your specification's (Touchwiz, CM9, MIUI, GB, ICS, JB, etc...) since his site is being updated daily and has the most complete package on all the roms available for HTC HD2, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S II, HTC Sensation and HTC EVO 4G. Why not Galaxy Note? Anyway, he told me he might do it if more people would like this new feature, why would anyone say no?
Nice site and very well organized

very neat and easy to find and use...please guys head over there and see for yourself.
Everyone please press the contact me button and tell him if you are interested in a Galaxy Note page. http://www.roms-db.com/
Thanks Everyone

[Q] Lost when it comes to "unified"

Hey all,
I am looking around this forum and I see a ton of ROMs. I am a little confused about what Unified means. Does that mean any ROM should work on any Note 3? Or do I have to make sure it says hlte somewhere in the description? (I have the Sprint variant). So many ROMs to try, just want to avoid problems. Thanks!

CyanogenMod has de-unified their builds. Branching into hlte - hltespr and hltevzw. I don't know if this is also the case with TW-based ROMS. Better read carefully the instructions or better yet just browse through Galaxy Note 3 Sprint section of xda dev. You should find everything that's compatible with your device there.

Originally CyanogenMod had seperate builds of Note 3 CM ROMs, but then they decided to merge all model specific CM's together to make "hlte". This is their so-called "unified build".
"hlte" is the Note 3, however there's no such thing as "hlte", as models are classified as "hltexx" (N9005), "hltespr" (N900V), "hltevzw" (N900S), "hltecan" (N900W8), "hltetmo" (N900T), "hlteatt" (N900A). As they all have the abbreviation "hlte", CM took those four letters out and created a build that works for all variants (if applicable on the device).
When the de-unified their builds, they created an "hlte" build but for the specific device that fits it's drivers and set up. I believe they did this in order to stabilize their builds. When they unified them all, I read somewhere that the video drivers caused issues leading to random reboots - even if this isn't so, unification and sharing of common drivers isn't always the best, you would want model specific drivers to take full advantage of your device, and to eliminate common problems that appear on different models of the device.

Only for CM and not TW.

Alliance Rom Tester Needed

Hi everyone,
As the title says I need some experience members to Beta test Alliance Rom for the Snapdragon Note 4 (5.0 Lollipop TW Base). If possible, I need you to be experienced in your phone, I know its new =), grabbing logs, able to report any fc's that may arise or be able to run a ROM that may not be fully functional (meaning some of the custom features added) I know this is a long shot but also if you are eastern US time that would be GREAT!
Please pm me for further instructions or you can contact me on Telegram @lacoursiere18. Thanks!
Brian
PS here are some links to the S5 Rom that was recently released just in case you are not familiar to our work..

Best custom rom / unified development/ Samsung Gal S5 G901F (dutch)

HI,
I tried a view different roms but all with bugs. With my current rom I lost bluetooth (is not working).
I am looking for a good stable rom for my device galaxy S5 G901F (Dutch).
Important: good batt.life and fast response.
Another question, the unified rom section, are the roms there suitable for all devices (what can I find is this section?).
Thanks for your response...

Hi Joey99
Stability and Battery Life are almost relative to each user. My profile usage is certainly different from yours and as so my results.
At the Galaxy S 5 Android Development forum you will find ROMs based on the Samsungs original releases. For your device I could find 4 active developments:
[ROM] 6.0.1 [CPE1] Material7 V1.3 / Material7 Full V1.0 - 26/05/2016 - [G901F]
[ROM][STABLE][TW][6.0.1][CPE1][10.05.16][SM-G901F] StockRom V2.0
[ROM][G906/G901][OFFICAL][NIGHTLY]Mokee Marshmallow for S5 LTE-A and Plus
[STABLE][ROM][5.1.1][G901][G906]Kyubi Note 5 Port Ultimate for S5 LTE-A and Plus
Samsung Galaxy S 5 Unified Development forum hosts the "raw" Android releases (not related to Samsung) and, as so, more susceptible of glitches regarding the hardware communication. In fact, I'm not sure if your device is supported there. This you will have to learn by yourself.
Anyway, you should restrict yourself to the ROMs built for your model and you should know that not even Stock Samsung firmware is free of bugs so ....
Be welcome at XDA.
Nice regards and have fun.

Resurrection Remix for kernel

I need a kernel for Resurrection Remix 5.8.3, but I can not find the proper kernel and the synergy kernel did not work either
...
I'm also looking for the Kernel following upgrading to the latest version. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Confused which kernel ??
Kernels usually come with the rom or a linked in the roms thread >> found via search thread tab.
Or as a thread in development for individual kernels.
Your post lacks information as this thread relates to sept 2017 not today ,so a guess.

Hmm...I have a distinct feeling that this post is relating to the fact that the OP's phone is unable to boot the later Resurrection Remix OS's, due to the fact that they are one of the 'unlucky ones' with kernel issues on their Note 3, like myself. @JJEgan knows what I am talking about. I suggest that the OP reads the last fifteen or so pages of this thread - https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...rp-3-2-1-1-t3746760/post77193256#post77193256
I may be wrong, and you might not have this problem with your phone. It's just a hunch. If I am right though, I will say to you that at this moment in time, the case remains UNSOLVED, as nobody currently seems to know what the issue is.
I have made developers on here aware of it, such as @ashyx , @bigbiff and @ripee
