S8 SM-G950F - Unkown cause, possibly bricked! - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hi guys,
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S8 SM-G950F
I was given this phone by a friend of mine who attempted to install factory binary or something or rather.
He can not recall exactly what he attempted to do, however.... This is the condition it is in now..
I have no clue where to even begin with it.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Drew.

Blind bet is that freund is finished with this phone if doesn't go to download mode.

Your are need to download official firmware from Sammobile and flash it through odin .

First thing is to see if odin detects it in download mode.
Ive managed to get an almost bricked s8 at least alive and kicking a few days ago by reflashing *only* the AP file (stock 8.0 XSA from Sammobile) which at the very least got me around the locked bootloader issue. Its just killed the IMEI in it.
In a couple of days ill get another shot at restoring it to full funtionality but ive already replaced it anyway so its most likely only going to be used for DeX now.
Ive had no responses to my post so meh.

Which exact one did you use Funkymonkey..?
Thanks in advance.

[Help] OMG! Did i Brick my new note 3!? :(

Hey guys. Ive had a note 3 before in the past and have used the Root DelaVega to root successfully. This was early in the year. I sold my old note 3 for an HTC One. Well today i traded my HTC One back for a note 3 as i missed the Note 3. As soon as i came home i attempted to use the Root DelaVega method to foot (just like i did before) and immediately it failed.
I have been stuck on a screen saying "firmware update encountered an issue - select recovery in Kies" so i tried Kies 3.2 however it says my device is not compatible. Come to find out after doing research (talking to the original owner i traded my HTC One for) the Note 3 i have is on the latest version of KitKat 4.4.2 that is not compatible with the Root DelaVega method or any root method - so i screwed that up. I can successfully boot in and out of download mode. Ive tried to flash N900XXUDNA6 4.4.2 in Odin several times, it begins then fails almost immediately and the bar on the phone itself (in download mode) begins then freezes shortly after beginning. Ive also tried to flash N900XXUDNC1 JellyBean thru odin and get the same results - almost immediately fail and the blue status bar on the phone freezes when it barley begins. What else can i do??? am i totally screwed? Ive been researching and trying to fix this for 6 straight hours now! My gf is about to kill me for being online so long Is there anything i can do at this point? Am i stuck.
Do you know what Region the phone was originally? I had a similar issue and I had to get the Hong Kong (in my case) version of a stock ROM and flash that to get things working again. Not all partitions are the same - you might need a PIT file to match your original region and then flash the ROM.
What info do you get in DL mode?

Yes the phone is for AT&T so it's US. When I go into DL mode Knox counter is still 0x0. Is there a certain firmware I need then to match with the AT&T model? Or a pit?

Go to Sammobile and see if you can find the version you had, sounds like an older JB if kingo app didn't trip Knox. Reflash that using ODIN.
I don't know if there was a problem with American bootloader, see if there's an AT&T Note 3 forum. Might find answers there...

Hi mate,
if you are stuck, maybe you can try this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2701062
it's a way to unbrick your software.
and if the older owner of your N3 said it's on the latest firmware of kitkat.
maybe your problem is the firmware in the sammobile were before the firmware you have install on your device via OTA update.
Yours firmware came throw out via OTA update and with some reason you can't see any latest firmware USA N900A in sammobile.
try the method in the link and reply if you have been successful.
cumps
Ik Knox is 0×0,then u can try samsung service centre ?

Did I make jewellery out of my s7 edge? :S

I have the S7 Edge SM-G935F, which is the exynos version I believe.
It starting with unrooting, which boot looped my device. I have tried samsung kies firmware recovery but the download always stopped at a certain percentage saying an error was found in the dowloaded file. I tried to fix it by flashing what I believed was the stock bootloader with odin but that made my problem worse.
It turns on and shows a red coloured screen, and the voice assistant kicks in to babble but seems to not respond to touch at all. I think I can go into download mode, because I've seen a shop assistant get into it when I took it to see if they can fix it. Unfortunately It would cost 230 euros, which I cannot afford. And in case you are wondering, no I didn't buy the phone. I got it as a birthday gift, as I never owned a smartphone before that.
I loved trying out apps and tweaking the phone with root, but unfortunately I wasn't careful enough.
Is there any hope for me? Thanks in advance if anyone could help me out.
EDIT: Thank you to both replies! I did as you said and I downloaded the correct firmware. It seems the one I flashed before was actually incompatible. Everything works now thought, I lost all data but better than having no phone.

Go to sammobile.com, create an account & download the latest firmware for SM-G935F. Install Samsung Drivers on pc. Boot device into download mode. Extract the downloaded firmware and use odin to flash it.
In case you don't know there are 2 S7 phones, S7(930F) and S7 Edge(935F) and their firmware files are not exactly interchangeable.
I think you might flash s7 firmware on your s7e since red screen is the same symptoms when you flash S7flat kernel on S7 Edge. The fix is easy, just reflash again with the correct file.

Bricked AT&T GALAXY S6 EDGE PLUS

I was trying to root my at&t s6 edge+ using Odin. As soon as the process completed, my phone froze on Samsung screen. Then I tried wiping cache and data but nothing worked. I downloaded few stock ROM for Odin but flashing keeps on failing. I read in some thread that new Samsung devices do not support downgrading. I went and checked my current build number and found that to be G928AUCS4CPK1. However, the firmware I was trying to flash were older version.
Has anyone experienced similar issue before? The main problem here is I cannot find the exact build number anywhere. I spent a lot of time searching and finally decided to post here.
Your valuable suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
hey man, you flashed an older version of the firmware? even if it wasnt bricked, your phone is essentially useless now. the efs is gone, meaning you cant make phonecalls or connect to wifi at all. sorry; your phone is bricked. perm.
download mode dosen`t work ?if so the only thing you can try is to use samsung kies to restore your phone but don`t know if that works
I done something similar to my standard S6 Edge the only difference was i was able to start it up ok and i thought everything was ok until i realised i had no reception. I so happened to notice my imei number was gone. I had no back ups of the partition that saved this info so i totally bricked my phone.
I did however find a website that would be able to do a work around ( for a fee of course) for it however it does question your morals as its essentially illegal in alot of countries. I dont want to post anything on here so if you want any info send me a PM.
Exact same thing happened to me... went to AT&T repair center but they didn't have the 'K1' firmware..
anyhow managed to find the latest firmware (gsm-firmware.com)... cost me $4, but the phone is up and running... I only flashed the AP file.. also used Odin 3.12.5..

Galaxy S8 bootloop fix (ODIN, Smart Switch not working)

Hello everyone,
I know this is a topic that had already been widely discussed but none of the suggested fixes were able to solve my issue. I also was not able to post this into the recoveries forum thread as I have just made a new account and I do not have the permission to do so.
My galaxy s8 is now stuck in a bootloop on the Glalaxy S8 screen and it does not progress from there. I can access the download mode but that is about it. I am not sure how this happened as it was fine one night and then i put it in my pocket, and when I pulled it out the next morning, it was stuck in this bootloop.
I am overseas currently, and so unfortunately I am not covered by the local Samsung warranty, else I would have gone through them.
I have tried flashing the firmware which I downloaded from Sammobile, including the BL, AP, CP & CSC which has not worked. I tried using Smart Switch which does download and re-flash the software, but in both situations, my phone still remains bootlooped.
I am not sure if I am doing anything wrong in these steps. Please let me know if there are any other solutions I can try to get my phone working again.
Much appreciated!!!

O2U Note 4.... Broken?

So this is a bit of an odd situation my friend is having. He bought his Note 4 off eBay over a year ago, and it was (and still is) a rooted mess. And I mean a big mess. Now I'm trying to help him fix it, because he can't update his phone at all whatsoever from 5.1.1. So I send him 6.0.1 firmware for O2U and have him go into Download mode, odin, all that fun stuff. Download mode says SM-N910T. Settings says SM-N910F. Anyway, he tries flashing the firmware via odin, fails, I have him try multiple things (I'm pretty tech savvy when it comes to this type of stuff) but it always failed. Also, "Current Binary" and "System Status" are both custom, and the KNOX counter is 0x1.
So what I'm asking is, how to fix this problem for him? What steps should he take (or should I help him take)? Is this actually a T-Mobile phone from the USA, but rooted to work with O2 sim cards? The hell is going on here?
Thanks for any replies, and all suggestions will be taken seriously and addressed.
Install the Phone INFO Samsung APK by vndnguyen and see what it's written there.
Get the serial number - example: mine is a 910C with serial RF8H70D.... and so on (obviously I can't write it all here)
With this serial number try with Samsung Smart Switch on the PC and see what info you get. Also you have the possibility to get the latest original firmware installed on the phone.
Good luck.

Looks like its an refurbished note 4 original motherboard is N910T and faked with N910F software cuz N910F has more value in Market.
So the bottom line is you have N910T Tmobile note 4 and you have to flash N910T firmware but after flash firmware from odin you have to immediately boot into stock recovery by pressing 3 button combo and do factory reset to get clean fresh opreating system otherwise it will get stuck in a bootloop at samsung logo.
First boot after flash and factory reset can take upto 10 minutes.
You can get firmware from www.sammobiles.com/firmwares
Or from link below for faster download.

Remember once you flash this latest marshmalow firmware there is no way you can ever downgrade to 5.1.1 again.
Good luck

Thanks so much! Everything is flashing on his phone right now like it should be. Appreciate it a bunch!
I also used samsung-firmware.org. I would use sammobile but I only had enough on my card for a 48 hour upgrade.
