Hello
I have Us996 and looking for a rom with the best battery life. If some of you tried many roms, which one you may suggest?

If I'm not mistaken, the kernel is going to have more of an impact on on battery than the ROM specifically. I use only stock kernel and I get pretty much the same on stock ROM,WETA and MEGArom.
NSS (sp?) kernel is one to start with and there is another one in that same thread
Double check though because I'm not sure if it'll work with the us996

Hey Guys, just rooted my epic and am really enjoying being able to use the root only apps. I was thinking of putting a custom kernel and rom on it maybe. Are there any good instructions for n00bs and also which one would give me better battery life, stability and maybe a speed boost. stable and battery is more important though.
Thanks

There are at least 3 different kernels you can choose from, I personally use MixUp because it is stock and overclocked (speed boost) and seems to work very smooth. I haven't had any noticeable additional battery drain, and quite possibly maybe have seen slightly better battery life.
This is the link for MixUp, as well as follow the OP original directions for flashing the kernel.

You will also want to bring in ClockWork Recovery -- This is what'll you'll need in order to begin flashing custom roms. Here is the link, and again follow the OP's guidelines for installing.

This version is a one click method, so it's relatively fool proof. Good-Luck.
I tried Oreo and Nougat roms and one problem is the screen on time and when the device is asleep or Is there a way to improve battery life on customs roms or is it just better just to go with stock?
Any Help?
¿s5 version? I have g900h, I tried some roms for battery life but the best results are from rom based on stock. i mean light roms based on stock.

Do you know any light roms compatible for the SM-G900T?
Has anyone solution for official Lineage 15?
I have very short battery life. Tried boeffla kernel, but no change.
I checked with stock, and battery life seemed short as well... but i don't know, i have new battery, so it should be at least 1 day, with some SOT, not as now only 1-2 hrs SOT...
A worn factory battery is at me, but it can work for 1 day with stock ROM :S
Hi guys. I'm using Liquid Remix 9.0. (latest version, projectk r23 kernel and nova launcher)
Can you tell me about the ROM and kernel that is very stable and the battery is very good? Or should I go on?
thank you to everyone who answered my question
U may disagree with me, but honestly, stock rom is one of the best ones i've used, in terms of stability and battery. Not many other custom os managed to achieve similar battery life as stock. Hope this helps!

I agree and im still using stock since i bought my phone
The less customisation you have the less bug you have.
Stock is the most stable, battery friendly without tweak
You can still put magisk / xposed and a custom kernel to win some battery % if you know what to do
I agree with them, after installing most custom roms out there i always came back to stock. Maybe pie could have a better battery usage, but i experienced lots of bugs even in so called 'stable' firmwares.
What kernel is the best with stock rom?
I'm hesitant on flashing a kernel on my phone thinking a minuscule flaw will shatter my SOT and the RAM management.
I'm on Pie so my only two options are Extended Kernel and Optimus Drunk. Really want to try because I've been looking and saw people saying they get tons of SOT thanks to installing Extended Kernel tests.
Any idea?

If you don't like the kernels, just dirty flash rom and it's back to the default kernel

So i should just try some kernels and see what suits best, in any case I reflash the ROM and it is "fixed" if I "break" something

If you are not concern with your battery life, you can try DOT OS or HAVOC and also, you can try flashing a custom kernels like Darkonah, PHB or Azure, both have overclocked feature for squeezing more power. but for me, better stick with stock rom for better battery and decent performance. :good::good:
Thanks for the advice bro. Im currently using MIUI and this iscthe first time i use custom rom on X00TD and i actually amazed by the battery life and performance of this rom. Im just wondering how other roms performs

You can try other custom roms (if you have a lot of time :silly: :laugh and see it for yourself. Also don't forget to report any bugs to help the devs :good::good:

Ok, man. The rom which has best gaming performance, least memory usage in this forum is LineageOS but it doesn't have many customization. Look for a Balanced ROM? Try DotOS.

Havoc is a heavy customized ROM and will not give good performance. I tried it and don't have good game performance.

HAVOC is no good imho (bad gps lock and random phone shutdowns)
i tried a LOT of roms over the last year and i just reverted back to latest stockrom since each and every rom seems to have its drawbacks
what works in one rom doesnt work in the other and vice versa
what i would like is a fully debloated stock rom with a battery saving kernel but i have been able to find a rom that has that
I just want to update this thread. Its been almost 5months since i made this thread. Now i have the samw question. Who among you guys know the best rom for gaming? Thanks kn sdvanced.
