So I was playing with P beta and found out that G Pay doesn't work. I decided to roll back to stable build. So I went to essential webpage and downloaded the latest fastboot build.
Flashed it with flash all and G pay still doesn't work.
The only thing which I have on mind is unlocked bootlader. Did they start to check it?
P.S. PayPal works per example
Thanks

This should be changed to say Android P; but unless you use Magisk with an unlocked BL; G-Pay does not work.
It's been this way for years.
Unlocked bootloader has ALWAYS prevented Android Pay from working. This isn't new. If you've had Magisk installed, Magisk hide also hides the unlocked bootloader, letting this work. -- I JUST paid with Android Pay yesterday at my train station after work with Android P Beta 1 and it worked, but I have Magisk installed.

So, I have a 32gb Amazon-variant XT1625 on MPJ24.139-48 with an unlocked bootloader and root. I want to update to Nougat, but it's looking like setting up to take the Amazon update is going to be a fair amount of effort; I'm wondering if it's possible to just flash the retail version of Nougat since it's looking like I'm going to have to go to a fair sum of effort anyway.
I've also heard that Moto G4 Plus ROMs will work on the G4, but I don't know the specifics on that.
i dont see why not as long as you already unlocked the bootloader prior to Moto(Lenovo) disallowed unlocking of amazon varients of the g4. heres a link to the stock nougat firmware

I flashed -64 retus software on mine and it immediately had two nougat updates afterwards. Still waiting for one that fixes the aboot sector vulnerability too but never know when that may come

then you was able to flash retail version in a amazon prime phone? I have one and it dont boot if i instal a retail version.
di anybody actually get this working? I had the same issue as @iurd2007 I was able to unlock the bootloader just fine. The flash appeared to have taken successfully. But it just gets caught in a boot loop when trying to reboot the system after the flash. I followed the instructions here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138
okay, so i've tried various roms both official and unofficial, as well as even the stock Nougat and Oreo flashable roms found here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/development/rom-oreo-8-1-0-soak-test-t3873367
So far, the only ROM i've been able to get installed is omni rom 9, but it keeps crashing several apps over and over on the setup wizard. I've read somewhere that using a different version of TWRP recovery image might help. I've tried the official TWRP recovery from twrp.me, the patched arm64 version found here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/tw...3-r1-athene-arm64_rajatgupta1998.img/download , also the latest version patched for efs backup/restore here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=29106#downloads. So far the the one that seems to work the best is the third version of TWRP. It would be nice if all these custom patches made it back into an official release, but it's probably asking a lot of a phone that is almost 4 years old at this point. and a budget friendly phone at that.
VERIZON UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER ONLY.
Yes you can unlock these things as long as they have never hit the network on Verizon )... EVER... (with a different CARRIER sim) I watched guy at Best Buy do it with a PIXEL and Pixel I guess the true issue is, you never know how or when they would be started especially on a refurb --- etc... Good Luck on that one...
First thread ever but the support scarce for VZW users (Specifically)and ROMs are scarce in generally. WE ARE SCARED TO DEATH to get the bootloader relocked... I've been flashing since the originally G1 and usually just keep my mouth shut stay humble and learn from every thread. I can't really find a lot of info on the VZW version and really the fear of locking the bootloader after trying so hard to get an nde64x ver on 7.1.0 to unlock was quite the endeavor in itself. I just wanted to pass along some info. Ask questions. If your an expert I'm sure this is pointless, but I just answered all of this for a friend that just switched to the Evil Red.
1. YOU CAN Flash the google updates (Not the ota but full system img using the flash all.bat)
DOWNLOAD THE FACTORY IMAGE NOT THE OTA (Google --- Factory IMG, Marlin)
- Download which ever from 7.1.0 to 8.1.0 unzip (I use 7zip but your windows programs can do the same
- Install your Fastboot/Adb and drop the EXTRACTED in your platform tools folder ... NOT the whole folder... but the items within the folder, into Platform tools (Should be 6 items including the flash all.bat) IT WILL NOT RELOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER BUT WILL WIPE YOUR DEVICE UNLESS YOU GO IN TO MOVE THE -W SCRIPT
2. 7.1.2 roms aren't working well with the A B Slot issues recovery... I was losing my mind trying to get things to flash and finally come to the conclusion... TWRP-3.1.1-0-fastboot-marling.img and .zip are the only recovery I can install to get roms to flash... If I Fastboot or flash the -1 img (twrp 3.1.1-1) or the 3.2.1-0-marlin.img I have to flash back to stock to get roms flasheable again.
- Working TWRP Nougat twrp-3.1.1-0
Flash Away At that point... If you get stuck like me and install 3.1.1-1 or the Other 3.2.1-0 I had to return to stock because of the A-B partition issues and get back to 3.1.1.0 to flash roms and Kernels.
3. Oreo 8.1.0 works with the flash-all bat (Google FACTORY image). The Oreo version will NOT relock your bootloader!!!
- TWRP works on 3.2.1-0.
- Magisk 14.5 and 14.6 work on Oreo...
- Super Su SR5 works with SU Hide 1.09
- Sound mods are eluding me on Oreo but Weta 9 Pixel is working with MANUAL MOVES--- Use at your own risk...
Right now I am on a VZW device running Carbon (LOS Based) with a Modded Google Cam (GCMOD cam )Viper4Andriod working, Franco Kernel --- ((A Lot harder than I thought on LOS to get some of the normal things working))
Ask questions if you want I'll answer what I can. Or I'll ask question of someone else to try to get an answer... Happy flashing...

Most likely, if you didn't unlock the bootloader with depixel8, back on 7.1
Sunshine team has no plans to work on unlocking newer versions, although, jcase said if someone could get temp root, he would provide an unlock...
So we're screwed. ?

No you can't, because you can't flash until after you are unlocked.
I returned mine to Google and sweet talked my way into the one I have now. Still Verizon, but it was rolled back to 7.1.0.... Well and blue (my original was black). I'm not sure I could've kept the phone without actually being able to flash roms/kernels/themes. No matter who you are or what you do, the developers around android building are just remarkable at finding and fixing those little stutters and issues that drive us all nuts as well as adding those little goodies that make them fun and unique.
This was actually an argument I was having with the gentleman at Best Buy telling me the phones are all the same with the Pixel 2 a month or so ago. After a bit of discussion he also said I could immediately unlock these devices even on Verizon. I called him out and he proved it, but HAD to use an AT&T sim as the start up. Once VZW is booted past the 7.1.0 version, that it is unlockable... its over... unless someone else can find another unlocking method to downgrade without OEM unlock or a bootloader unlock method I don't know what to say. Personally I would've rolled back to the 6p or gone to the 2 and had the guy at Best Buy help me out with a sim.

Come on man... Gotta help the cause... Everyone wants options and themes... Thats why we dont have IPhones.
Verizon users dont stand a chance at catching up or learning assuming they ever had a Pixel xl on NDE63P If they want to unlock, they need to start backing up to the 6P.... which is actually still a comparable device to newer phones at a couple years old.... and then they cant even go to the store to set it up... LOL. Sooooooo many posts from Verizon Users asking about whether they can update stock or via Google images and noone answers, well, mostly because their in the wrong thread.
And yes I realize I answered the last question asked, in the original post. I still have a little patience in my old age...
NO you can not flash down to 7.1.0 because you cant run the Google img through Fastboot, without being unlocked and there is NOWAY currently to unlock, past the original build version... I believe the last unlockable was NDE63X (dont quote me on that) Sorry guys. You CAN HOWEVER flashall.bat if you are ALREADY unlocked and you will stay bootloader unlocked.

Hi. I've never really liked the Android version in my Lenovo but I am now facing an annoying issue with Play Store downloads getting stuck and delayed and going to have to reinstall.
At this point I am ready for a root and changing the ROM but I am rather lost in what android distribution are working and tested at the moment as after reading for a while there are some which are only for the Win version. I also see some references to X90L on threads about rooting and installing twrp but I am assumming these would work the same on my F version.
So the question is, what updated current ROMs are working fine and are worth (better than the official one) after root and TWRP on the Android version?
Also, once unlocked and changed bootloader, where can you get the official ones again?
Thanks for any help.
"Also, once unlocked and changed bootloader, where can you get the official ones again?"
You don't need it if you flash YB via Intel Flash Tool with oryginal rom.

These are definitely the zips of stock ROM. But these are designed to take you forward and not backward (unless a specially designed package is pushed by the company). So, your only means to downgrade is via Nokia Care channels or paid downgrade services available online.

It is the same for all WW variants of the device. So, you can flash any WW firmware if your bootloader is unlocked. Otherwise it is not possible to flash on your own.

Hi mate, PM me if your bootloader is unlocked and I can go though the steps to downgrade to 8.1
I've been shown how to do it and its tried and tested & working well.
If your bootloader is locked, then search for the paid service to unlock it. He will also downgrade it at the same time.
Nokia X6 with Custom Oreo ROM - How to load stock Android Pie 6.1 plus image
Hi,
I bought a Nokia X6 in September 2018 (6GB/64GB) and would like to install the Stock Nokia 6.1 Plus Android 9 image.
I see my phone is rooted and it shows the message "Your device has loaded a different operating system." everytime I start it and I have to use Magisk to hide several banking applications.
The phone works great and I knew it was going to be relased in Europe eventually, but I am scared to brick it by loading the Android 9 Image.
I already tried attempting the update through OTA but the zip file is ignored. Nothing happens.
I am new to this forum so I don't know if my question has been asked by someone else.
Can you please help me?
Thank you!
- - - Since I am reading that Pie is not that good, I would be happy to stay with Oreo as long as I can use stock and unroot. Have you got any tips for it? ---

It won't need root to install a different official ROM. The flash tools for internal usage don't need root.
You can check the device's bootloader status using Fastboot commands. Make sure fastboot drivers are installed. Then put your Nokia in Download mode. After that use the following command:
fastboot oem device-info

I downloaded ADB and fastboot, along with the latest Nokia X6 USB Drivers.
I am following the guide here : https://www.getdroidtips.com/nokia-6-1-plus-stock-firmware/#The_Advantage_ofStock_Firmware and I would like to avoid having the original X6 firmware (chinese) and use the 6.1 plus instead, but not sure which one.
Also, what is in your opinion the best XDA post I can follow for the upgrade? Is the one above ok? I just need to unroot my device and install the stock 6.1 Plus Oreo (or Pie if is getting better) making sure it will work with my Vodafone and Three UK Sim Card (which are working fine for now).

Actually, it depends on what condition your device is in right now. If the bootloader is unlocked (fastboot oem device-info), then you will be able to install the global firmware.
On the other hand if the device has a locked bootloader, then a tutorial alone won't help. You'll need to buy a remote flashing service to flash the global ROM onto the device. The flash tool needs to gain the flash permission from FIH servers to gain a temporary elevation to flash files to a locked bootloader.

Hi,
I followed this guide to go into fastboot mode: https://www.hardreset.info/devices/nokia/nokia-x6-2018/fastboot-mode/
When I do, I can only see "Download mode" on the top left and the big logo "powered by Android", that's it.
Is that correct or?
I allowed my bootloader to be unlocked, for the developer options, but I don't seem to find a way to boot in fastboot mode. I will try volume up + powerbutton shortly.

The download mode = fastboot mode. So, you reached the right place.
The developer option setting has no use on a Nokia phone. It just does nothing. But since you're seeing that option, your bootloader is most likely still locked. If you are on July or an older Android Security patch, then you can unlock the bootloader by buyng an unlock key. After that you can unlock it and then flash the global firmware.

Hi, yes I think so at this point. I am on May security patch and it does not show any new updates when I check. I am thinking to unroot it at this point and keep it with Android 8.1 unrooted, but I am not sure I will get the updates from Nokia.

Downgrade from Android 9 to Android 8
Hello!

from this forum: http: // forum.gsmdevelopers.com/nokia-android-phones/72857-nokia-6-1-plus-ta-1083-exclusive-tasted-firmware-ch_sameer.html
and apparently it's possible to downgrade from Android 9 to Android 8. The file contains the OST LA program and the stock ROM for TA-1083 (DRG-237B-0-00WW-B05) in .nb0 format. The program asks for user and password, but I read somewhere that it's possible to patch it or edit it with Notepad++. I'm new to this and I don't know how to use the program.
Can someone more experienced test this method and report back, please?

You cannot crack/patch OST LA. The patched version will work on bootloader unlocked devices only. For the others, there's no way to flash without having the login to server with account.

This update just came out today. Patch notes state April security patch and "general" improvements. I installed it and surprise surprise, STILL no Always-On Display (AOD) 6 months after unlocked version got it. Lesson learned, never buying a carrier branded device again.
No issues with the update otherwise I take it?
This is why I finally did a bootloader unlock and flashed the international software. Now I'm on the beta have a more up to date security update and all the features.

It's as stable as any of the other Android 11 updates. Rarely it loses bluetooth connection to my car but it's been like that for me since the first Android 11 update. Launcher still stops responding for 15 seconds if I try to lock the screen right after disabling work profile. That's been a problem since the first Android 11 update too though.
