So instead of merging this thread with this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-a-series-2017/themes/mod-enable-trusted-mod-a520f-t3726824
iv decided to make a new one.
First if you rooted your phone with MAGISK i strongly recomend to download and install the face unlock module through MAGISK. Being a long time Supersu user i just recently switch to magisk and it made many things so much easier to install and deinstall. And it has a lot of usefull modules...
Anyway...
Iv unpacked the magisk module zip and repack it into non magisk flashable zip just to see and test will it work. Iv unrooted magisk and flashed it on hades rom and it worked.
I dunno does it work on stock rooted i didnt test it but i thing it should.
I didnt ask the permission of the module makers to use their files, so if they want me i will take the zip down.
But you all know by now how to do it yourself
One warning, if you remove/uninstall faceunlock from your system while your pattern or pin unlock is on, you wont be able to unlock your phone because your pin r pattern will be unrecognised an you will need to restore backup or find anotherway to ulock your phone.

To my phone nothing happend but i still need to say that you are
Flashing it at your own Risk!
I won't be held accountable if something happens to your phone if you lost your data so Dont forget to backup your phone before flashing!!!
Instalation:
1. FIRST ALWAYS MAKE BACKUP OF YOUR SYSTEM AND DATA BEFORE FLASHING THE ZIP!!
2. Download the zip, restart in recovery and flash the zip, wipe dalvik/cache and restart.
You will have to wait few minutes for android to upgrade.
I tried it on stock 8.0 Rom on my A3 and sadly it crashes when you click Next to actually register your face The thing that I noticed is that the Magisk module is for Android 8.1 and the zip you uploaded contains Trusted Face 8.0 so they are not the same

It didn't work because an a3 is 32 bit. The a5 and a7 are 64 bit.

all the zip you found on internet will not give you face unlock for SAMSUNG OREO with 32bit proc.
on nougat, yes it working.
but with OREO 8.0 with 32bit architecture = ONLY 1 files that can give the face unlock back to our device.
download Nano8.0Gappps from official website.
flash it using twrp. and the face unlock is back!
i just flashed it yesterday, since all the files i found on internet give no result (force close everytime the option trying to open front camera to recognize face). but with nano gapps 8.0 , problem is gone FOREVER.
why we need nano8.0gapps? we need the libs file, i mean COMPLETE LIB FILES for 8.0
this is the only solver.
i hope my answer will bring back smile to your face

Weird. Mine did that too on a different model. Reflashed it and it was fixed.
The face unlock zip is taken from gapps so people wouldn't have to flash everything.

I have face unlock on my samsung galaxy a7 2017. But evry time after face unlock i need to swipe up to open. I tried AutoInput. It worked for some time. Again if it is not running in backgroud, the swipe to open appears. Also AutoInput is not free forever. I am on hadesrom pie. Please tell me other app or way to disable swipe and go directly to home screen after face unlock. Waiting for reply?

No. Its working fine for me after several reboots. I am with Magisk root and hadesrom pie and twrp 3.0. I haven't flashed nano Gapps as u said. Because i recently shifted from stock to pie. So first tried face unlock without nano Gapps. And it worked. Even face unlock is pretty fast and o any crashing. Please if u know how to bypass swipe after face lock, let me know sir?.

I managed to use giefroot root my D6603 (US version) on firmware 23.0.1.A.5.77 by downgrading to 23.0.A.2.93 without wiping the whole /data.
This is what I did: (Try at your own risk!)
1 Backup the contacts first. The contacts data will be cleared.
2 Use Flashtool to flash D6603_23.0.A.2.93_Generic_20GLOBAL.ftf. Uncheck wipe DATA.
3 Restart the device. There will be lots of annoying force close popups. For me, only two packages were reported closing: android.process.acore and android.process.media. USB debugging doesn’t work either.
4. Just close the popups and go to Settings – Apps – All. Find “Media Storage” and press “clear data” to get rid of FCs of android.process.media. USB debugging should work now.
5. Find “Contacts Storage” and press “clear data”. No more FCs of android.process.acore.
After this, no more FC popups for me. It looked normal on fw 2.93 and I tried many times to use giefroot v2 but failed. It seems like that the system exploit app CVE-2014-7911 will crash android.
6. I tried clearing data of more apps. After clearing ApplicationSettings and ConfigUpdater, giefroot v2 worked! I don’t know which one is the key. Can anyone confirm?
Hope it's helpful for you.
Thanks again! @zxz0O0
I followed your steps and after a few tries i got root. The only thing i did diferrent was that i enabled "Allow mock locations" and it worked.

Yes, you are right. After my steps, one still needs to follow the instructions of giefroot by zxz0O0:
How to use
Download the tool (latest version) and extract it
Start your device and plug it to your computer
Put your device in air plane mode
Run install.bat and follow the instructions on screen
Congratulations! You should now be rooted. If you get an error "Device not rooted", try running the tool a second time.

thanks for this useful tip. Step 6 was not needed with D6603_23.0.A.2.98_Customized_20DE.ftf and giefroot v2.

There's already a pre-rooted version which you can flash in recovery
Thanks for this guide!
The only problem I'm having is, once rooted and with the dual-recovery installed, I can't decrypt my device in TWRP. It asks for my password, but tells me it's wrong and just asks for the password again. If I choose 'cancel' it continues but won't load anything off my sd card/internal. So I can't flash the update to .77
Anyone know why this might be?

I seem to have gotten around this for now by using adb push to copy the file to the /tmp folder of my device. I still can't access internal storage, which is a pain, but at least I can finish the steps to get back to .77 (and hopefully Lollipop soon!).

Sorry that I know nothing about the decryption. After a quick search, it seems to me probably a bug of TWRP (github.com/TeamWin/Team-Win-Recovery-Project/issues/247).

Friends have achieved to root my phone, it also improves the latest system version and everything is great I put the dual recovery 2.8.2 and of there add Xposed. But after a day in the early morning the phone started to constantly reboot, try to get into recovery mode and freezes with the logo of Sony. turn off and turn on in normal mode, install the recovery again and I wipe cache and dalvik, every normal by day and in the early morning again restarts. PLEASE any solution

You guys should report all bugs to the cyanogenOS forum here -> http://community.cyngn.com/c/devices/z1
If they don´t know about the bugs, they can´t fix it.
And while you are at it raise your voice here (because we need inbuild root ) -> http://community.cyngn.com/t/reques...ring-and-inbuilt-superuser-access/97/4?u=othe

I dont think resetting will help. I'm just waiting till the next update, or the big update to 6.0 Marshmallow early next year. Really weird that they haven't fixed it yet, shouldnt be that difficult..
They dummied it out on the fingerprint_client and kernel binary... I've been tracking this issue down all day already. Theoretically, swapping the zImage for an older one, along with an older fingerprint_client binary should fix the issue.
Edit: Got it running on the latest COS again after a few patches here and there... will post a flashable boot.img soon.
Edit2: Here you go, all patched up and ready to go. Just flash it via fastboot and you will get your back-button functionality back. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24269982087008212

they have removed it... im still waiting for an update. pretty frustrated they removed it so early when i just bought it a week ago! Arghhh!
Just use the boot image I've posted to temporarily restore it.
The OnePlus 2 kernel sources contain a patched fingerprint driver that is compatible with the Z1 that contains the capacitive navigation that got stripped.
It's already being picked up / ported for the Chroma kernel so don't worry guys, on the long run we will get this feature back permanently (no matter what Cyanogen wants).

I can't answer on the official thread as I don't have more than 10 posts, anyway, thanks for the feature, I tested it on CM12.1-Nightly and it works like a charm! Unfornately i noticed that after flashing the zip, on "buttons" settings, the "enable on screen nav bar" option has disappeared, and I can't go turn them off. Also the functionality is not the same as when i bought it, in fact if I touched the button, it would use the back feature instead of going on the home screen.
Anyway, thanks again!
You can adjust the actions that occur by editing the Generic.kl file included with the installer zip file. Adjust them as needed / wanted.

Hi,
1- plug your usb cable to your pc.
2- download the file "YOG4PAS3OH_backbuttonenabled_boot.img" which uploaded by MrColdbird.
3- copy the file to zuk z1s internal store.
4- open flashify. choose "recovery image", choose file manager, find and choose the "YOG4PAS3OH_backbuttonenabled_boot.img"
5-program asks you flash recovery? and choose YUP.
6- after rebooting your touch backbutton will work with permission of God.
But I offer another upload of Mrcoldbird. Because extra properties come by it.

Anyone can upload a Rom here? because the Flyme sites, it's so slowly..
The ROM is working just fine on Oreo firmware. Haven't faced any issues yet, so I guess you don't have to downgrade
I got this ROM 1st boot but when I passed 6 pages welcome screen.
There is a blank black screen I can only long press Shutdown/Restart.
:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Can someone provide a alternative link to One plus phone 5T Toolbox _2.0.0.exe i am unable to create an account on that website to download the file.

You don't really need the tool box; it is only for rooting and getting a working recovery. You can Google how to root OnePlus 5T.

First of all, techmesto is a website not a key ..
If you want to buy search it on Google you be redirected to the website itself.
And now we come to the point is that if you want to unlock your bootloader
Take a backup of your device and download December security ota package
Go to recovery - apply update from sd card and select that zip you have downloaded before (keep in mind , copy that zip file into your sd card not in internel storage and apply update through sd card .
It will start unpacking the zip and will give you error or abort sign and will take you to the 7.1.2 nougat recovery then go to apply update through adb sideload ..
Then flash that key , congrats in advance

No. I just want to take a look inside the unlock.key file. Please give me. I am researching it
I've heard that the phone's IMEI number shouldn't be disclosed to anyone as that may lead to privacy violations. What about this? Is it risky?
@Elvaa
where the file is located?
Hi buddy, can i know from where i can download the december security ota update. I have installed the lateast security update right now.
Hey, I didn't get anything. Kindly someone help me in understanding it.
It's my number. You can WhatsApp. I'm tired of trying third party application to root ta 1021.

Kindly help me please
* I'm not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed (like it did for me...).
* YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, tough luck.
* Your warranty will be void if you tamper with any part of your device / software.
*This is will permanently trip knox and there is no way to back
This is of course for exynos only.
Had to figure out this process myself so please come with some input if you can streamline the process
1. unlock the bootloader (oem unlock in dev settings, boot into download mode by pressing both vol up+ down at the same time inserting a usb cable into the phone, press long up to unlock the bootloader)
2. setup the phone by skipping the wizard.
2. download and install latest magisk manager canary.
3. download the same firmware that's running on your phone ( https://www.samfw.com/firmware/SM-G986B)
4. extract the AP file from the zip file.
5. open the AP file with 7zip, extract the boot.img.lz4 file
6. tar up the file in 7zip (right click, 7zip, add to archive, change the archive format to tar)
7. transfer the file to your phone.
8. in magisk manager, press install ->next ->"select and patch a file" -> find the file you transferred to you phone ->next and let's go -> after done exit out of magisk manager and transfer the file back to your computer.
9. reboot to download mode and flash the file in odin ( i used the AP slot)
10. boot the phone to recovery (vol up when booting, if your to late shutdown the phone , vol down and power and try again)
11. factory reset the phone.
12. do the wizard normally after boot up and make sure to install magisk canary manager to get root prompts.
13. Enjoy!
Steps to update your rooted phone
1. download the new firmware
2. extract the boot.img.lz4 from the ap file, tar it up and transfer to your phone, patch in magisk and transfer back.
3. boot you phone to download mode and populate all the slots, just make sure that in the csc slot you pick the HOME_CSC_*.tar.md5, not CSC_*.tar.md5
4. when done and phone is booting, make sure it boots in download mode, if you miss the timing, reboot the phone by pressing vol down + power and try again.
5. flash the patched boot file.
6. profit!
Thanks so much this worked like a charm!
I miss the days of apps that could unlock the bootloader and root your phone. My appetite for wiping after I just got everything all perfect, is not big.

But just to clarify in case the temptation becomes too great--is this for Qualcomm as well, or just Exynos?

Hey, I just came over from a Sony phone and wanted to ask a few questions.
Are there any drawbacks of unlocking the bootloader and rooting a Samsung phone (in other words does it break anything, because this process breaks a lot of stuff on Sony phones)?

on the motherboard there is a e-fuse that get's blown when you root, and when blown certain things stops working, like Samsung pay and secure folders.
But the camera works fine with no degradation (on sony phone the camera looses it's algoritms when rooted)
there is no way to go back efter root with the e-fuse, only way is to change the motherboard
Hello,
For those who successful rooted their S20 phones, please confirm if e-sim still works. thanks.
Can you please add the link of the latest magisk canary manager.
Tried this but can't do step 8.
Magisk get stuck on "Flashing - Device platform : arm64-8a"
Stuck
Mine is also stuck when flashing the tar with magisk, it says failed and then the file won't flash from odin it gets stuck at file analysis

I just tried on my Galaxy S20 (SM-G981B) but no luck using Canary Magisk Manager (72f6770d) (278)
Boot loop after flashing and factory reset.
I previously tried to patch the complete AP file, but same thing if I start my phone whith recovery key combination (without it, boot OK but no root)
I've done this before on my S10, but seems I'll have to wait a little more

I've retried from scratch, with a clean Rom before starting the procedure.
Still no luck : boot loop when rebooting after factory reset.
I followed exactly the steps, only patching the boot image
What options should I choose when patching on magisk manager (dm-vertiry...) ?
