So guys, ive got a huawei p10 plus. It has been working great for me. At first i had no snapchat shutter sound, but suddenly it just appeared. There is no way, that i know, to remove it. Not with the mute option of the camera, with nothing. It just annoys me and i have to remove it but i dont know how. And i want to do it without root because i cant get the codes to unlock the bootloader from huawei. Can someone help me please?

You can install a "if\then" app and have it turn off the sound when camera is on and then back after.

Does anyone know if there's a way to disable the camera shutter sound? I was unable to find it in the camera app settings (thank god, since that means it wouldn't save anyway...), and I didn't see it by going through Settings>Camera. Anyone have any luck trying to turn this sound off?
I don't think it's possible right now and may never be officially since there are laws in many countries that mandate audible clicks while taking pictures. Once hacked, there may be a possibility.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who's looking for a solution. It's very loud and disruptive when I'm trying to catch my dogs playing or sneak a pic of my wife doing something silly. I really hope somebody finds a solution for this soon.
Hello, i just bought my focus yesterday and just found out if you lower the volume all the way to zero it doesnt have a shutter sound. Hope that helps, its not a good solution but something.

OK so i was intrigued that people got to do it but i couldn't........so i restarted the phone and I was able to do it dont know why sometimes it makes the sound and why some times it dosent.........microsoft has problems with sound for a wile....so maybe they will fix this soon.....I will keep testing to see what program makes it go erratic
this worked for me
Hey everybody, I've been trying to get around the issue for a while myself and found this: karnicki.eu/?p=10 for the omnia7. It did the trick for me and whenever I set the phone to silent the shutter stays in STFU mode! I fiddled with the sound settings before but it might be something magical about the 1000/-1000 combo. Please test and confirm.
Pause song, turn volume all the way down
Simple "Fix" is to start a song in zune, then to pause said song and to also turn down the volume to zero (0). This keeps the shutter from playing but only as long as you have a paused song in zune.
once there is a file manager hack for the phone, you should be able to just delete the sound file for that one specific sound. Thats what i did on my iphone along w/ the stupid SMS sent sound.
Put the volume all the way down to Zero, turn it off, turn it on, then it should be gone. It worked for me
So I just got the Venue Pro and have loved it so far. The NoDo update went without a hitch and everything on this phone is great so far. The only thing bugging me is the shutter sound on the camera. Has anyone been able to remove that or turn it off? I'm sure that I can make a patch for it when I get home and have sometime, I was just hoping to get it done sooner than that.
Yeah, I find it a bit annoying also...
There is a setting in the registry, I do not remember it offhand, that allows you to change the path/remove the path to the shutter sound.
However, since we can not write to the registry there is nothing we can do for now.

Flash stock firmware. Remember you can't change stock sounds without setting correct permissions using the root browser.
Here is my fix for the mic problem I had till a few hours ago (mic not working while changing to speaker mode in a call), maybe I'm the only G5 owner that had this problem, but still somebody could have it too, the fix is shown in the screenshot.

But where is this file present?
/system/etc/mixer_paths_tasha.xml
Sorry if this sounds silly, but given that I'm simply a Googler that happens to have the same problem, I'd like to better understand what this fix is exactly. Is this something that developers have to do or can a normal non-tech person apply the fix that you have provided? How do I access what it is that you have shared.

If you have a rooted phone, then you just need to install a file manager that can access root folder (the best for this is in my opinion is root explorer because it has an built in text editor), and then you simply navigate to system/etc and you open up mixer_paths with the text editor option in root explorer and just simply find the lines of code in the pics I provided and change the numbers, save it, restart your phone and it should work after that.
Hope this will help to fix your problem, if yes than hit the thanks button if you want

You must have a rooted phone to get access to system files, sorry mate :/
You can try, but I dont want to be responsible if you break your phone :/
Try this https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600575

I'm having a related issue that maybe you can help me with (maybe not).
My stock camera doesn't record sound, and when making Hangouts Dialer calls I don't hear anything, nor does any mic work (headset or chin mic).
However, when I hooked up a USB OTG hub to the phone, then plugged in a USB headset through the hub, everything worked fine.
Also, regular calls (and Google Voice) work fine. I'm now using Open Camera to shoot video, and that app has full functionality.
So I'm thinking this is some kind of oddball firmware issue. Any ideas?
Hi, I have the same problem. Can you please tell me where I can find that xml on android 8?
I had the same problem. It turned out to be a "hardware" thing. There are two microphones, one at the bottom of the phone which works when on earpiece, and the second one on the top of the phone (above earpiece) which works when on speaker mode. I cleaned the first one several times without noticing there is a second one on the top. It turned out that the second microphone was blocked by some dirt. I cleaned it and now it works like a harm when on speaker mode.
Anyway to turn of the sound, after updating to pie I can't find anything to disable it.
I will really appreciate it, if anyone tell me how to by any method? And my device is rooted.
