Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Glass Screen Only Replacement - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

To fix this headache Samsung Galaxy S7 edge glass replacement, it is very difficult even for repair stores. Refer to iFixit guide, Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Repairability Score is 3 out of 10 (10 is easiest to repair). Because the S7 edge phone and screen use tons of adhesive to attach the screen, glass lens and the frame, meaning when anyone breaks one of them all three need to be replaced. Replacing the glass only is a big challenge even for professionals.

Make sure the display and touch functions both work well on the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge glass-cracked screen.
Frame Separating
Firstly, we need to remove the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge screen from the middle frame of the phone. Use Pry Piece, 530 cleaner, and Heat Platform to separate the LCD and frame preliminarily, then separate it completely with Frame Separator.
OLED Separating
Samsung Super AMOLED screen separating is different from iPhone screen repair, here we use Frozen Separator to disable the glue and a plastic Pry Piece to help.
Put screen into Frozen Separator, freezing 30s, then separate the OLED from the glass.
Glue Removing
With the help of 8333 removers and N-hexane, clean the glue residue on the OLED.
OCA Laminating
s7-edge-glass-only-repair-guide-and-repair-training-5
Use a Manual OCA Film Laminating Roller to laminate OCA sheet onto OLED.
Bubble Removing
Put it into Bubble Removing Machine for 15 minutes. Make sure the OCA is bubble free on OLED.
Glass Laminating
Align the front glass with OLED, then laminate the glass and OLED with help of Vacuum Glass Laminating Machine.
Bubble Removing
Put it into Bubble Removing Machine again for 15 minutes. Make it bubble free after glass laminated.
Repaired Screen Testing
Make a complete test of the repaired screen display performance, touch functions, all testings are good.

Almost every new phone does that because they want no gap. I bought the psvita when it came out and the glass got scratched a lot. You have to buy the whole screen +lcd + speakers ...insane. but i guess thats the cost for edgy tech

Yes, i9020a to be specific. As far as I know there is no difference between the screen size of a SLCD and AMOLED. The length and width are the same. If you go to ZAGG, Skinomi, Bestskinsever or any other brand there is only one screen protector for the Nexus S and it's not specific to any one variant (i9020, i9023, etc).
i bought a zagg as soon as my phone came. I also bought a TPU case on ebay but the case leaves micro scratched on the back of the phone

Z3 compact drop test. Get a Case guys!!!

I found this video on youtube. Be careful with the device. Here is the link

Seen this video. It's a re-upload of this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIFgcCoWEZs
Luckily I've also read (on here, I think) about someone who's z3c fell from a microwave oven onto the counter and then immediately onto a hard floor and it didn't have a scratch, so it's not like the glass is guaranteed to break.
But I will probably get me one of those crystal-clear hard cases when I buy a z3c
Mine suffered its first drop today, from about pocket height onto tile. Not a scratch. I can't even tell where it hit. I plan on going caseless, but buying a Worth Ave Group insurance policy for it.
this can happen to almost any device. A bad landing and it's gone. Others get dropped again and again without problems.
I always thought that the people moaning about the shatter-proof film were idiots. I have never had a problem with the shatter-proof film on my Z1 Compact and have dropped it several times. (I also installed the screen protector over the shatter proof film).
An even better solution I think is a phone design like the old Motorola RAZRm / RAZRi -- I think it is the best design style of any phone out there (and much better than the more recent Google-influenced Motorola designs). This phone has a metal rim at the edge which protruded slightly above the screen, giving it that extra bit of protection as well as preventing accidental touches to the screen. It also has a kevlar back so strong and grippy (not crappy glass that shatters and is slippy), and I've dropped the RAZRi more times than I can remember any only came away with scratches. It also has a nice ergonomic wedge design -- just such a pity that Motorola abandoned this design.

Question is. How many manufacturers have made cases for our Z3 Compact mobiles?
According to this, the Z3C has front and rear Gorilla Glass as well
http://www.wired.co.uk/reviews/mobile-phones/2014-09/sony-xperia-z3-compact
Not shatter proof, but good to know they haven't cheaped out

I wonder where they got that information though?
No idea, but Wired is reputable. Many of the other reviews also mention Gorilla Glass, though they don't specify if it's rear as well.
I guess Corning's marketing just works out so well that "Gorilla Glass" is widely used as a synonym for tempered glass. Anyway, I sent them a mail, maybe they'll back up that claim with a source.
Somebody on another thread mentioned Dragontrail glass which is similar I believe

Xperia Z1 Compact Screen disassembly

Hi everyone
ones, i had a problem with my Z1C, it was water damaged
i replaced some brocken parts
after that my phone started working great
but i notticed that the battery was draning too fast
i replaced it twice!!
but it still drans fast!!!
so i supossed that due to the watter damage there would be a problem with the mother bord that is eating all the battery
so i used a cleaning product for electronic parts
but since i didn't remove the screen and as you may know, the mother bord is attached to the screen
the product did infeltrate bitween the screen and the digitizer
and now the screen is all foggy
do any one have a solution please!!! :'( :'(
( and also the battery draining fast problem is still there!! :'( )

I would buy a new display on ebay. It costs almost nothing and it is ridiculously easy to change it yourself if you follow a video guide on youtube.

there is no ebay shipping here!!!
I recently replaced my screen. It is very easy. Just follow the following guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bz02qEIP3vU, and you can't go wrong.
Just be very careful to position the screen correctly before pushing down on the adhesive. I unfortunately cracked my first screen because I didn't align the screen correctly and it cracked when I was pushing down - the screen can be very delicate. The second screen I applied flawlessly but also with a tempered glass screen protector as I didn't want to risk cracking it again.
I purchased this one: www.ebay.com.au/itm/171772963783. Only $30 US. The tempered glassed screen protector is only like $1.

White border under glass. (S7 Edge Black Pearl)

Has anyone (especially those who own Black Pearl colour) exprenced this (first picture).
At first I thought it's just some dust but when I washed my phone and looked closely, it's actually something under the glass which looks like a cheap temepered glass's border (second picture).
The difference is only some parts of them are in white, the rest are beautiful in black (or transparent?).
It doesn't affect waterproof or anything but still triggers me a lot. Is this normal ?

This looks totally normal, it looks like dust build up in the slight gap between the tempered glass and screen itself or the space between the screen and body in some chase.. this is usually noticeable on black phones.
So U are saying that upon close inspection it looks like it's under the glass?
If so, I can confirm that it may be possible, because I'm having that issue. I have a silver titanium model, and on the upper side, it seems that the silver paint doesn't go all the way to the edge on the front glass, so I am able to see the glue that holds the glass.

I'm pretty sure it's not the dust because I even sink the phone in water.

it is just dust and dirt build up, I don't find it alarming, you can still show it to a repairer to be sure..

Can I use loka on a broken screen? Tempered Glass

Hi, I own a s9+ which I bought on ebay. I bought it for 201 dollars with a broken screen, i think it worth the price for me. I want to buy a product like the one in the image, which includes the loka glue. Can I use loka on a broken screen, affect the AMOLED screen or cause some damage?
What do you think, is it convenient to use it?

My s9+
I've read if people having much success using uv glue screen protectors with cracked glass screens. I think you're problem will be that the "full coverage" uv glue protectors may not concert the area of your screen that's cracked.
Can't hurt to try.

I think thats a great purchase for 201 dollars. And I am 90% sure that if you fill the hole with the glue and then cure it with the UV light, that will fix a decent amount of it.
So if you first fill the cracks, then dry them with UV for a few minutes. Then install the glass on now mostly repaired screen.
And if you do so, please provide photos of the process and after..
Damn I bought that same screen protecror for just $1 and still using it as of now.
It might work to apply a tempered glass screen protector with full glue loca (liquid optically clear adhesive) over a broken screen. The potential problem may be getting the loca to disperse properly. This relies on capillary action to disperse the loca. A crack in the phones screen could potentially disrupt this process.
You can buy tempered glass screen protector kits (screen protector, loca, & uv light) for about $6-$13 on Ali Express. That's cheap enough that I would give it a try. Her's a link to the screen protector that I have used and recommend highly: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32858887498.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.76d54c4dcEJg2A
You may have the best luck if you can get a single drop/line of loca to completely cover the crack before applying the screen protector. It would need to be a single oval shaped line of loca or you will likely end up with bubbles.
