need help - Mi 3 Android Development

Hello guys, i m facing very serious issue with my device. My volume up button not working at all and when i take my phone to service centre they said they dont have cheap( i didnt know what they said) and they refuse to repair to my phone. Now problem is i m also custom rom lover and try many roms time to time but if i accidenlty mess with my phone and it get brick than how i can go into recovery mode at that situation ?? Please help me if any one know how to go into recovery mode pc using commands. Thank u

I do not understand clearly. Do you have now a working custom ROM? Or now you are on brick/bootloop?
If you have working system:
If ADB -like minimal ADB and fastboot- (and all windowsdriver) is installed on your PC. And USB debugging enabled. And you have a working TWRP.img on your computer for example to minimal ad and fastboot folder. Then.
Connect your phone to PC with USB
Open a command prompt or run "minimal ADB and fastboot" prompt on your PC.
Type on PC prompt: adb devices (+enter)
If every driver installed correctly, then your PC will display the ID ot your Phone.
If displays then type: adb reboot bootloader (+enter)
The your phone will reboot in fastboot mode.
If you have fastboot mode:
Type on PC prompt: fastboot devices (+enter)
If every driver installed correctly, then your PC will display the ID ot your Phone.
If displays then type: fastboot boot TWRP.img (if your img file is not TWRP.img then rename it before) (+enter)
If everything is all right, your phone will reboot to recovery.

My developer friend said: you need to go a private service, and ask him to full button replace. He think, it will be solve your problem.
I found a description http://en.miui.com/thread-84580-1-1.html
bit I am not sure, that is yours.
Maybe...

Thanks for reply ....by the way i have already installed twrp recovery...and the method u said using command is work when my phone in bootloader mode ? Because i cant go into recovery mode at that situation because my volume up button not work

Yes.
Install to your PC minimal adb and fastboot.
https://www.mediafire.com/file/rz87kfzmljiwne4/minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.4.2.exe/file
As I said, if you have fastboot (bootloader) [little green droid with fastboot word] mode:
Type on PC prompt: fastboot devices (+enter)
If every driver installed correctly, then your PC will display the ID ot your Phone.
If displays then type: fastboot boot TWRP.img (if your img file is not TWRP.img then rename it before) (+enter)
If everything is all right, your phone will reboot to recovery.

I softbricked my LS980 and cannot escape fastboot. Assistance Requested.

Had a problem with audio playback (volume always high no matter what). Decide to flash. PAC for my Sprint LS980. I see this:
Seems to be a lot of confusion so I'll clear things up..
ZV7->ZV8->ZVA is how the ota history goes, with ZVB on the way.
If you're on stock ZVA, your aboot (bootloader) may not be downgraded, in that case, use FreeGee from Play Store to install a recovery, it will automatically downgrade your aboot.
if you have the ZVA Radio, just flash furnace or dr87's kernel after you flash an AOSP ROM, all done.

Sorce: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2669074
Seeing the last sentance, I think that if I flash ZVA Radio, SlimKat ROM (the one that causes me problems) and then dr87's kernel I could try a ZVA experience. I flashed SlimKat again becuase I was going to change anyway, I wanted to try it with ZVA.
Tell myself why not, I do it.
Fails but I didnt pay much attention. I reboot.
Stuck in fastboot mode and cant escape. Recovery is a no-go.
Tried flashing both ZV7aboot.img and twrp2.6.3.0.img into their appropriate partitions (boot and recovery).
Still having problems, but now I cant do any button combination (except DownloadMode. Cant turn off) after ZV7aboot.img flash.
I dont want to erase my memory (~26GB of valuable data). Is there a way to flash a ZV8Radio.zip from fastboot? I think thats my problem, but Im not too sure. Just access to recovery would allow my to fix my problems.
Thanks anyone for any help! I think I really screwed myself over this time. Thanks everyone!
Edit: Anyone know where to get a boot.img and system.img for the Sprint LS980?
zv7_aboot.img isn't a boot.img, it's the bootloader. Use FreeGee to install twrp, it will handle the aboot for you. Then you can take advantage of the last sentence.

I am stuck in fastboot. No recovery. Download mode is also accessable.
Which of the following would help:
* System.img and Boot.img (where to find em?)
* A kernel .img (Do they exist?)
* Flashing the ZV7 or 8 aboot.img oncemore with twrp.img again?
Thanks for coming to help! It means a lot.

If you can boot into a rom, use FreeGee to install twrp. If you can't boot into rom and recovery, you need to flashtool.

Flashtools is asking for login and password. ?
Does this mean I have to wipe all user data in order to use it?
Edit: Do you know where System.img and Boot.img could be downloaded? I think its my only hope.

Thanks for the link! That was extremely helpful.
What I did to gain access to twrp again was:
Download boot.img from the link.
Download aboot.img from link.
Download twrp.img (but this isnt necessary, file is already available on phone. No need.)
* Enter command 'fastboot flash boot boot.img'
* (If you hold power it starts showing LG Logo.)
* Go back to Fastboot. Enter command 'fastboot flash aboot aboot.img'
* Now TWRP access is regained! Phone doesnt boot normally, must flash ROM and stuff again.
Thanks a lot! This was an okay first fastboot experience.
Soft Bricked Sprint LS980?
Hello, I'm having a similar problem. I haven't had a phone for a couple years since tinkering with my Evo and thought I still knew what I was doing with my new G2. That proved to be incorrect.
I had it semi rooted. (I followed the instructions using Ioroot and Kingo) I wasn't able to change APN and use GSM for Metro PCS
After reading up about the spark patch I followed a tutorial (not very well obviously) and managed to get the phone will it will no longer boot.
I can get it into bootloader, and a frozen in download mode. otherwise it just hangs at the LG logo.
Is there a way to recover from bootloader?
I copied twrp-2.6.3.2-g2spr.img and zv7-aboot.img to the phone and did the following.
Here are the commands I used with the guide. I looks like I was using 2 different guides at once..... :/

get http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...oot-installer/has good quick adb install it
copy the downloaded openrecovery for sprint onto the phone directly into the "root" folder (root folder being like when you look at yoru C: drive in windows explorer that is the root folder under linux), when you plug into the pc, make sure in mtp mode
with phone still plugged in run kingo and root it
it will reboot
with phone plugged in run "adb usb" from command prompt on pc (from the link for adb that it installed, it will open a command prompt for you in the proper folder when you click it)
approve adb connection on phone
then run "adb shell" from command prompt on pc
type su, approve it on phone
paste this next line exactly at the prompt
********** this is the line I used from a different guide ***** dd if=/sdcard/zv7-aboot.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/aboot
dd if=/sdcard/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.2-g2spr.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
let it flash
it will say bytes copied and you will be good
type reboot inside the shell
the phone will reboot
I use goo manager from play store to boot into recovery, I dont even know the key combo for it yet.

Alright, sorry to comment on something 3 months old, but I just had this problem and managed to solve it.
When in the mode described above, you are still able to use Fastboot. Get a linux computer and install fastboot.
Then, go here: http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/LS980/Stock_Firmware/zvc_partitions
Download the images for laf, aboot, boot, and recovery.
type the following commands in fastboot:
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase aboot
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase laf
fastboot flash boot 6-boot.img
fastboot flash aboot 4-aboot.img
fastboot flash recovery 10-recovery.img
fastboot flash laf 11-laf.img
fastboot reboot
This fixed the problem for me. Good luck!

Sorry for not replying, but I see you managed to fix your problem. All you needed to do was download .img files, then enter commands through fastboot. Although it is slightly more complicated than that, its the rough outline of what needs to be done to fix it. Nice work fixing your problem. I came back to this thread to remind myself of the commands that need to be entered (My comments help myself).
I think I am just going to copy-paste the quoted box above if anyone needs instructions how to do this. Thanks for the quick guide I can use to help others!
bricked , simple fix?

this process (which i got from a different thread originally)
bricked my phone Lg G2 (Ls 980 sprint 32 gb)
i was on remote connection with my friend attempting all kinds of flashes (mostly custom roms and recoveries)
what he did
he FIRST flashboot erase aboot
and then erased all the other files
foolishly he then used fastboot reboot BEFORE reflashing the necessary images
this leaves me with a device that is practically 100% empty all hardware no software
i have no response no life not even a backlight EXCEPT
i can plug into windows and see Qdloader9008 is connected comport 3
and i can communicate with the device on ubuntu terminal although im not too farmiliar with terminal syntax so im not having much luck
im convinced it is as simple as reflashing at least a working recovery or download mode from which i can install everything else i nee
between QPST, Terminal, and or some other method
sorry for Noob ish ness
any help would be appreciated even if just help with a better understanding of what to do next
payment is possible

Sorry, I barely understood what to do originally. What you have to do next is to reflash the aboot/boot/ whatever partitions but getting to that position might be difficult. Maybe some sort of command would allow you to connect to it oncemore?
Sorry, try to look into it more and see if a dev could help. Try posting something in /r/lgg2 but then again I cant be certain anything would happen. Good luck!
Easy guide
Since the problem keeps happening to people heres a quick tutorial I made.
Download and install this (PC only?)
Now go here. (D802) (D800) (LS980) (VS980) (D803) (Device tree/others)Download the images for laf, aboot, boot, and recovery.
Place the 4 .img files in the same folder. Control right click in that folded and open terminal. If this isn't how you open terminal in a folder search"how to open terminal in a folder".
(NOTE: Commands below will differ from the file names. Change the values in the parenthesis to match the files, HOWEVER, do not type the parenthesis into the terminal prompt! It will not work if you do.)
type the following commands in fastboot:
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase aboot
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase laf
fastboot flash boot (6-boot.img)
fastboot flash aboot (4-aboot.img)
fastboot flash recovery (10-recovery.img)
fastboot flash laf (11-laf.img)
fastboot reboot
You should be fine now!
Unbrick Ls980 formatting partitions
Do this: (only for LS980)
1. Download the adb.zip file
2. Unzip in you computer the adb.zip file
3. Connect your phone LS980 to your computer
4. Run "particiones lg g2.bat"
5. Enter in download mode and flash the phone
6. enjoy your phone

How to downgrade to OS 1.5 on Remix Ultra tablet?

My Remix Ultratablet current running 2.0.305 keep random restart everyday.
So I wish to downgrade to OS 1.5
I ask for help form office Jide support , they told me I need to
Q1) Problem # stuck on step #1 already , When I ask where is the Remix Ultratablet driver when I install adb and fastboot ? Offical jide support told me I don't need a driver? How so ?
I can't get the tablet connect ??
Note: 1, I connect the tablet with USB to PC
Note: 2, I turn the USB debugging option on Tablet already.
Note: 3, I Test it on pc adb folder by trying "fastboot devices" only get "Waiting for Device" error
Q2) I also try other method (Power key + Volume up) on tablet which show
"Continue
Fastboot Protocol
Recovery Kernel
Reboot
Poweroff
Forced Recovery"
But when i press"Fastboot Protocol" , doesn't do anything ?
For your references:
Steps of instruction I receive from Jide offical support so far....
1) have ADB and Fastboot running, I download the Minimal ADB and Fastboot[/URL])
2)Download Remix OS 1.5 ROM[/URL]
3) Unzip the downloaded zip file ( SK1WG.zip ) and go to the folder
4. Connect the Remix to the computer via USB.
Make sure the fastboot binary is in your PATH ) or that you place the recovery image in the same directory as fastboot.
6. Open a terminal on your PC and reboot the device into fastboot mode by typing adb reboot bootloader or by using the hardware key combination for your device while it is powered off.
7. Once the device is in fastboot mode, verify your PC sees the device by typing fastboot devices
-If you don't see your device serial number, and instead see "", fastboot is not configured properly on your machine. See fastboot documentation for more info.
-If you see "no permissions fastboot", make sure your UDEV rules are setup correctly.
8. Clean the existing data by entering the following command: fastboot -w
9. Flash images onto your device by entering the following three commands:
-fastboot flash system system.img
-fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
-fastboot flash boot boot.img
10. Once the flash completes successfully, run the following command to reboot the device into recovery to verify the installation.
-fastboot reboot

That makes no sense what so ever.
Maybe it would be better to ask what platform he is using to flash his device with, as the instructions he has copy and pasted refer to Linux (udev rules)
it makes sense to me cause you have download the correct Android SDK to work on certain Android platforms.
https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platforms.html
To compile your application against a particular version of Android, you must use the SDK Manager to download and install the SDK Platform for that release.

then I go to the tablet : turn off, then I try other method (Power key + Volume up) on tablet which show

-Fastboot Protocol
-Recovery Kernel
-Reboot
-Poweroff
-Forced Recovery"
Nothing Happen ??
Note: I'm a first time ADB/ Fastboot user, but not totally a newbie. thanks

Thanks, I will try the install "15 seconds ADB Installer v1.4.3" tonight when back home.
on side question: anyone know WHEN to use the (Power key + Volume up) on tablet which show
-Continue
-Fastboot Protocol
-Recovery Kernel
-Reboot
-Poweroff
-Forced Recovery"
The reason I ask because when I press "Fastboot Protocol" , it doesn't do anything. !!??
Also , the whole purpose for me to do the ADB/fastboot is to download back to OS 1.5, because my OS 2.0.305 keep random reboot ! So if anyone can tell me how to fix the OS 2.0.305 random reboot ? I might not have to do all this ADB/fastboot things ?
Thanks

when you turn it on,it seems you do not have the minimum knowledge required to flash a device... you should stay away from downgrading it or study adb and fastboot videos and tutorials on google and youtube before doing anything.if you do anything wrong and brick your device, the warranty will not work, any bad flash could void your device warranty.

Now when i type

Hi friends, i have followed instructions as per youtube video (official oneplus),struck on rebooting ..now i am able to fastboot, twrp recovery menu, have backed up using twrp backup. But not able to reboot to system. The boot logo after one plus symbol kept on rotating infinitely. Please help me.
Do a factory reset
Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk
My phone is not getting power on,though i have done factory reset from twrp 3.000 recovery.Still no go struck in boot menu with rotating logo after 1+ symbol..
Hello . Firstly try get your phone into fastboot mode. Once you have get up adb. (if you don't have adb, or find it really confusing to install, get wugfreshs root tool kit has built in adb terminal)
Open up your terminal plug in your phone and type
Code:
fastboot devices
Something should come up .
Once you done that grab the latest twrp for your device. Then FLASH! AAHHHHHHH, PROTECTOR OF THE UNIVERSE. In fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Once that's done type
Code:
fastboot boot recovery twrp.img
The it should boot into recovery from. Here your computer should recognize your device . You should be able to easily drag and drop a new rom and gaps on to your device

Also factory reset only works on a rom level. So if roms wrong. It won't do anything
So, I had the same problem and here is my fix for it.
I am not sure, but I think you will lost all your data on this way :/
You can Skip the first 2 lines, because when you installed TWRP you already done this
1. Go to a Computer and install Adb
2. Download Minimal Adb and Fastboot
3. Download the offical Rom on the OP2 Site and copy the .zip file into the Fastboot folder
4. Rename the .zip into rom.zip
5.Connect your phone to the Computer
6. Start into Twrp, go to advanced, click on adb Sideload
6. Now go to your computer, into the Fastboot Folder and start the command line and type: adb sideload /path/to/rom.zip
7. It should now take some minutes to install the Rom, you will see how many percentages on the Screen (It will only show until 50%, don't worry about that)
8. Voila, your Phone should now work again
To root it again, there are some modified UpdateSu-Files specially for your current Rom.Version. When you are on 3.5.6 you can use the attached file

[Solved] Stuck in Fastboot, USB does not connect

Hi.
I need help. I already checked any relating topics on this and other boards, but I couldn't find any help.
I tried to flash TWRP Recovery with the "All-In-One-Tool", but as soon as the phone entered fastboot-mode it couldn't be recognized by the system anymore.
Error Code 43. (USB\DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR_FAILURE)
I am running a Windows 10 Machine.
Solutions I already tried:
- using different drivers (lenovo v1.1.16, zuk v1.0.8, latest google usb drivers from sdk)
- with deactivated driver-signing-check (or what it is called)
- different adb, fastboot tools (mini adb, etc.)
- running live cd of FWUI (forget windows use linux)
- using different usb ports on my pc
Additional to that, my power-button isn't working anymore (since a few weeks now) and I have no idea how to reboot my phone.
I would really appreciate your help.
Follow these steps to install twrp in easy manner:
1.Firstly install lenovo usb drivers.( look download one at bottom of this post for files)
2.Then Go to the adb driver folder and do install necessary set ups according to your system(64 bit or 32 bit).
3.Now go back and move to AndroidSDKSlim\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools folder (put on your phone into bootloader mode and connect usb).
4.Type fastboot -i 0x2b4c devices in cmd and see if there is a reply. If you got reply It means that your drivers are properly installed otherwise not.
5.Once you get reply type fastboot -i 0x2b4c flash recovery twrp_recovery.img
6.After flashing done Disconnect USB then go to the recovery mode and that's it you will see twrp installed as successfully.
(To boot your Device into recovery mode, just turn your device off and then press and hold volume down and power keys at the same time)
Note: It worked for me in windows 10(64 bit).Don't disconnect Usb from your PC while flashing Twrp.
Download:Because xda won't allowing me to put download links up to 10 posts as i'm new So give your email in reply i will send files to that email.
thank you.

Problem solved. I don't know the exact solution.
I waited until the battery was empty and recharged it, phone was booting normal. I installed another set of lenovo driver on my pc and gave it a shot. This time the device got recognized by windows and i was able to unlock the bootloader and flash the recovery.

Hi...
I too face the same problem, I tried fastboot adb and YU yureka drivers reinstalling and connected device to PC it gets charger when connection in on, when connected in fastboot mode on device it shows fastboot but when check in PC for device info, it dosen't show any connected device. I followed many tutorials for this to install TWRP but its impossible to install without establishing a proper connection. I also tried to install TWRP without PC, for this i need to root my device and flash TWRP img, so I started trying root I had used kingroot, kingoroot, towelroot and some more but failed to root, I am still trying to install TWRP can anyone help me in either of the process to install TWRP.

Getting your device connected is a very important stage, whether it is system, recovery or fastboot. From what I read , you can connsct through fasatboot, since you flashed cyanogen. Just flash TWRP 3.2.1 or so which is the latest, through fastboot:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.3.2.1 .img ( Remember the spaces, the name twrp.xxx.img should be same as you downloaded. If flash is successful, you can see twrp when you boot to recovery. Then flash supersu file and/or whichever rom you want.
Sorry for late answers.
I was lil busy and sorry for wrong address also.
You could get it from firmwarefile.com
I can't post link here but select yu yureka plus variant and download oldest CBP
