IMEI Unknown after flashing ROM S8 SM-G950F - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

So after flashing the Renovate ICE r135 my IMEI and baseband show up as Unknown in settings, which means that I have no service. I have looked online and seen the use of combination files, although I don't see any for the Oreo update (only 7.0 files). Are there any combination files for 8.0 or alternative solutions to restore my IMEI number?

Last time I checked, if you lost your EFS file (IMEI no.) thats it your done.

You shouldve backed up your EFS. If you lose your IMEI you need to restore your EFS otherwise your phone is finished.

@hs102
befor you flash Renovate ICE r135 da you make one backup with TWRP of your "old" Rom?

Yes, I flashed the stock firmware with ODIN but EFS is lost and now no baseband or IMEI. Wifi and Bluetooth are working.
Any Chance?

Look for correct firmware. Using csc code and build number. Happend to me. Solved it

It happened to me few weeks back. I tried flashing indian firmware on my uk region s8. I lost imei and baseband. Then i looked for csc code in download mode. And searched on sammobile. Search using csc code. Then you'll find few firmwares. March your build number and download the correct firmware. Use latest odin and dont use home csc file. Use the other one. This will solve your problem.

Not registered on the network

Hello. I just bought note 2 N7100 from friend and when I'm trying to call it says "Not registered on the network" and imei is 004999010640000 how to fix this? I find lot of ways on interned but i'm noob and I dont understand. My android is 4.3
It happened after I did factory reset
Can anyone help me? :/
try patch from dr.ketan and make sure it is not locked by gsm operator - when someone lost phone, operator can lock the IMEI, so you will have useless toy...
Your imei number is generic, you need to restore the backup of your efs partition.

I had an issue recently where my efs was corrupted (my IMEI said unknown). I did not have a backup but a flash of the stock ROM from Samsung using Odin solved my issue. If that didn't work I was going to try a tool called EFS professional that might help you also.

Did try the stock ones from the Samsung website? Not one that has been changed by the community at all. I also flashed a bunch of custom ROMs to no avail but the (latest) stock one worked.

because im scared. because some people says that if i flash to stock firmware there is possibility that the baseband again will corrupt (sorry for bad english)
That is a very rare chance. Just make sure you have good downloads and when using ODIN, do not touch the phone until it is complete.

Just keep your MODEM / BASEBAND version in mind. Write it down before updating.
If baseband unknown happens, just flash your previous modem version, not whole rom. It will be fine then

i flashed NG1 firmware and now my phone status is official and not rooted. thanks a lot sir!

Need help, Baseband version unknown

I have a n9005 with knox set. It's running omega rom version 21. I haven't updated modem for a long time and the modem version was XXUENA2. So I thought oh it's about time to upgrade that. Then all hell broke lose.
I flashed to the latest DXUGNH1 and it was ok, but after rebooting the phone, I lost mobile data while voice was still ok. So I flashed again to XXUFNG2. This time the baseband version and IMEI number became unknown.
I then tried to flash to some other version and flash back to the old na2 version but nothing worked. I even tried "Fix Soft Brick Loop_ EFS partition" script thinking it might be an EFS problem but that didn't help either.
Now I'm sitting here trying to download a stock samsung rom to flash. Will that help, I don't know...
If anybody has any idea, please let me know. I'm desperate to get it fixed.

Thanks for the tip guys. Just before I go and download it, I just want to know whether there is a particular reason for flashing that version? Because I flashed NE3 official just now and the baseband is still unknown. If that's the case, will NG1 work instead? Hell, I'll just do it anyway and see I guess. Thanks again.
Your bootloader is new, and old modems not working on a new bootloader
sorry for bad english
I have the same problem, did you make any progress? ty.

MOTO E IMEI backup

IMEI is the machine serial number.
It may happen that due to various rom exchanges, wipes and resets, the IMEI will be lost, if this happens and there is no backup, the only solution is to send the device to assistance for repair and pay a new motherboard.
Having the backup can save some money.
Prerequisite:
Root
Stock Rom
In sdcard create a directory named IMEI
In the ADB mode with root:
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/pds of=/storage/sdcard1/IMEI/pds.img
Keep pds.img file in a secure place.
to restore
In the ADB mode with root:
dd if=/storage/sdcard1/IMEI/pds.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/pds
reboot.

NeeD HELP efs corrupt ....

Hey All ... i am having galaxy s4 i9505 ... i downgraded my s4 from 5.0.1 to 4.4.2 and efs is curropt now ... i again flashed lollipop stock firmware but still imei is null and baseband version is unknown ... i tried many methods but always failed .. i dont have any efs backup and i mistakenly cleared my efs using a tool ... plz help me out what should i do ....
First, backup your efs folder to as many places as you can. Also backup efs partition with philz recovery.
Then flash cm12.1. Now delete efs folder from your new cm12.1 ROM. Copy and paste the backed up efs folder to the same place where you deleted the old one. You will get network and imei in a few seconds.
Once you get network you can now flash back stock 5.0.2 via Odin or stay happy on cm12.1
