Sharing my very heavy usage experience:
Job:
Field technician (driving a car from customer to customer all day, and working while there),
Climate:
Mediterranean (hot and humid, always, everywhere),
Always on:
4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, Truecaller, Pango (parking app), sync to personal Google account, sync to exchange work account, Google photos cloud backup,
While driving from one customer to another:
GPS navigation, full brightness, Bluetooth, Spotify, phone calls.
While at customers:
Phone calls, WhatsApp, camera, Pango (parking app)
Results:
Leaving home in the morning with 100% (after charging overnight)
Returning late in the evening with 5-15% (depends mostly on navigation usage).
...all without charging at all during the day!
I love this device...
(Came from Sony Xperia Z5 Compact - which was awful in every way except it's size...)
Sent from my LGL722DL using XDA Labs
Not that much of a heavy user, but mostly browsing on Social Media and Reddit (2-3h bc of lab work and lots of spare time in between)
listening about 6h music daily (BT always on)
Navigation 1h in total with max brightness
sometimes watching YT (30 mins max)
After almost 2 years of this kind of usage my battery life dropped to roughly 75% if not less (according to AccuBattery) and have to charge it 2-3 times a day. In the beginning I could get as much as 6-8h DOT easily, now I struggle to get more than 3 hours.
Right now I'm looking for a authentic Mi8 battery, but I heard it's way too hard to find one. (at this point: Please, if somebody has a link to a supplier in Europe or Asia, post it here or PM me <3)
I love the phone and the performance is still superb, would be great to keep it for another year or two, since Im not ready with spending 600€ or more for a decent successor, if the Mi8 is still doing great beside the battery life.

Well, without an heavy usage, this device's battery life could go down at something like 20% @ day with my light usage (But i do a jump on XDA often if i can )
my kinda usage is like playing coc (minimum 10 attacks) , playing music, atleast while im travelling, (i do travel 3 hours daily to my work/college) minimum od 30 minutes of calls, and a few temple runs , and a bit of subway surfing, quite a bit of yutube , and a lot of playstore,
today i lasted about 5h30m sot with 24% remaining..
i call that an excellent battery performance
Do you guys take money or gift from Huawei? In all this real life threads there are the same guys talking about how great is this phone. That is not so great.
With light browsing, occasional reddit and xda, WhatsApp, downloading and light CoC + a couple other games I get 6.30 houesbof SoT
And on days that I rarely use the phone except tor the occasional calls and WhatsApp + reddit i get around 8 hours SoT . ( I will upload proof in about 12 hours)

They don't have to if the phone is already superb. From my experience the phone can last 2 days easily with light usage.I usually get 6+ hours SOT .
Casual use like texting and chatting can reach 7 hrs or more.
Perform well. On light usage gives upto 10 hrs SOT on regular usage gives around 7-8
It perform well.
Best phone in this budget for light user
I gets one j half day and sometimes manages to 2 days without need to charger having wifi and 4g enabled all the time
Oh yes. At light use, I don't have to worry about charging.
9 hrs on light usage for me.
Endured 2 days without charging.
You can easily reach two days of life with light usage.

How is battery consumption for 1 or 2 or several hours of music listening (in percent) ?
I guess that counts as "light" usage
I personally get excellent battery life. I average 2 days and on occasion will get a 3rd out of it. Im not a heavy user, but I use Tidal on Master audio settings with My cans when I listen to audio for periods at a time and see low drain, im happy. I bought the phone within a month of its official launch on US carriers.

Thank you
Anyone else can share their experience with (local) Music Playback and battery consumption ?
e.g. 3 hours = 5-15 % or so ?
I'm trying to get an experience/knowledge how much battery this consumes with vendor optimized ROMs (such as LG's) on Snapdragon 835
i travel ~1.5 to work each day by train, i listen to music (bluetooth headphones) in this time and check Google maps once or twice. when i arrive at work, my battery is usually still above 95%
A full day's light use consumes only about 15-30% with this V30S.
That's with display adjusted to lowest moderate brightness per given ambient lighting, and turned off whenever not actually being viewed.
However, a mechanical 2.5" USB hard drive running on OTG power drains the battery down much faster. Maybe 20-25% drained in about 10 minutes of hard drive use including file transfers.
This implies that the battery runtime performance of the V30S is largely a result of more efficient SD835 and display, maybe SW optimizations too.
I've been unplugged for 33h and I'm at 50%
battery with 2 short phone calls, 12h Spotify via Bluetooth, 2h news reading (nyt app), handful of photos and videos and 50 WhatsApp messages.
I don't really care about sot because I am a light user, but it seems I can easily get 2-3 days out of the 30+, not sure if others get out more but I'm pretty happy about it.

the battery life with this thing is amazing, I am highly surprised how much longer it lasts Vs note 3.
I had literally been watching Netflix through WiFi on my phone for at least 12 hours and at that point it still had about 12% battery.
9.5/10
This is my measurement from todays usage.
100% at 7:25 AM
Constant music for one hour with browsing on 4G. 4G remained all the time
Every 15 min, unlock to check browser/FB
80% at 11 AM
Constantly using on 4G to use FB Messenger
66% at 1:50 PM
Some calls and browsing/FB
50% at 4:27 PM
Music for one hour at full brightness
37% at 6 25 PM
All the time 4G was on nad brightness meter at around 70-75%.
Not a bad performance for a 6" display
I think it's good, too. While playing Pokemon GO at very high brightness I can still manage 4 hrs. When playing other games like Super Hexagon it's at least 5.5 hrs. I think it would be very hard to get this phone empty in less than 4 hrs.
Losing 5-10% an hour with data and mobile hotspot on. Decent, but could be better. Also facebook might be draining the battery, so I'll also test without facebook.

Average at its best. No matter how long a screen on time is, say, 9h, it still won't last a day, without charging almost everyday.
The heavy usage experience in this device is not pleasant for me. Especially multitasking is not that great when you a couple of tabs open on chrome an several other apps in the background, which use internet connection. But that's just for me; I am a heavy heavy user. For general heavy usage this device is decent.
I use the 3/32 version of this device.
3Ram32Rom Device
MIUI installed (XEU with stock chinese kernel)
I'm travelling often and almost all day screen on, G; maps, earth, chrome netflix, youtube, music play, all day, playing PUBG and watching movies 2 hours or more ;
I fully charged the battery yesterday morning 9 till now it's 02 tomorrow night, it's still 13 percent left,
I've installed magisk, and with smartpack kernel manager I set the low memory killer to very light for multitasking, and ondemand governor at 1900 mhz cpu,
well, I think up on my use daily, MIUI is better than stock, battery and smooth. Thx for the thread
Stock ROM definitely does not provide the best experience. Most I got was about 7.5 hours of screen on time with mostly on Wi-Fi but some Mobile Data and auto brightness. 4000 mAh does perform better with custom ROMs.

Update: So I followed a couple others' advice and did a factory reset and did not restore from backup.
It has made a huge difference. Phone battery life is way better now and it seems to charge quicker--both wired and wirelessly.
So, if you're having poor battery performance, and you restored your phone from backup, try doing a factory reset and not using your back up (re-import Contacts from Outlook, for example).
04.14.2020 So I've spent the past two days getting my V60 set up and things transfered from my old V30. It sucks, by the way. After more than two decades, moving to another phone still works very imperfectly.
Anyways, I've been downloading files non-stop via wifi and mobile. Also lots of SD card access. I've been browsing, listening to music, and also watched some YouTube here and there.
I started around 8am and I had to plug my phone in at 7:50pm.
That's way longer than my V30 but its battery has been going downhill for some time. I think I was expecting more use out of this heavy brick of a phone. It's great, but seems low. I don't know if that is something that will improve with use. (is that a thing? Like breaking in headphones?)
I get maybe 11 to 12 hours of SOT with heavy usage. that's with the dual screen case although I don't use the dual screen too much it definitely isn't left alone lol
I get about 9-10 hours of SOT. YMMV, of course, but for me the battery life on the V60 is significantly better than the S10+ (6-7 hours), particularly the standby drain rate.
So, the battery life has been great, although I've only had the device for about 36hrs. But I have a question, is it normal for the "estimated time remaining, screen to just always say " analyzing? It never changes. I've circled it in the screen below

I'm on Verizon. Mine doesn't show anything there except the percent circle.
