Model differences - Nokia 6 Questions & Answers

I am looking at the different models available from the online store. They all seem to be TA 1045, however there are different manufacturers numbers.
I assume B/W stands for color.
- 11PL2B11A07
- 11PL2B11A02
- 11PL2W11A01
Any ideas?

I would also like to know the differences in these model numbers, specifically the 11PL2B11A07 and 11PL2B11A02.
It is the black version of the phone and both models are listed at a retailer's website. However, looking at the specs it shows no difference. For US T-Mobile users, the inclusion of LTE band 12 is important.

07 seems to be tunned for Northamerican networks, 02 for Latinamerican ones

[Q] Does the correct regional version matter?

Due to the ridiculously high price of the note 4, I have had to turn to ebay and imported versions on the note. Versions from the US and Asia have shown to have the same frequencies as we have in the UK. I am curious to know if it is okay to go ahead and buy the US or other version if it appears to share the same frequencies as my network has in the uk? I would also like to know if another regions version will have any other adverse affect e.g delayed software updates?
Sam
Personally i think you'd be better sticking with the correct model to be sure everything will work as inteneded

International version supporting phone calls and band 1 eliminated?

The Nvidia FAQ no longer lists the international version which supports LTE band 1 and phone calls. It still says there are three LTE versions of the Shield tablet but lists only 2. This may mean that Nvidia has eliminated the model. Unfortunately, that is the version I am interested in buying. I need support for band 1 and I want to be able to make phone calls.
Does anyone have any info on this?
http://shield.nvidia.com/tablet-faq/
WHAT CELLULAR NETWORKS DOES THE SHIELD TABLET LTE SUPPORT?
There are three versions of SHIELD tablet LTE. There is a North American version that works on AT&T, T-Mobile and Rogers on LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 7, and 17 and HSPA bands 1, 2, 4, 5.
There is a second International version that works on popular European and Asian networks. It supports LTE bands 3, 7, 20 and HSPA+ bands 1, 2, 5, 8.
Check with your favorite carrier to verify coverage in your area.

PS If they actually produce the third LTE version, I would like to purchase it in the USA.
PPS The description below no longer appears in the FAQ.
The third version also works on popular International carriers, in addition to including voice support on compatible networks. It supports LTE bands 1, 3, 7, 20 and HSPA+ bands 1, 2, 5, 8.

Well spotted.
The UK site confirms all three but perhaps that is just slow to update
http://shield.nvidia.co.uk/tablet-faq/
Could you work around this by flashing the radio from the recovery image of the LTE variant that suited you? Or is it a bit more complex than that?
The UK FAQs page has been updated. The statement "There are three versions of SHIELD tablet LTE" remains but only two versions are listed.
Typical Nvidia debacle. At least edit the statement to read 'two versions'.
is there a way to enable the Band 1? im here at the Philippines and im only getting 3G connection whilst using my Phone with same Simcard i can get LTE signals
You can still text and phone from shield; as long as you're connected..
I know this might not be the info youre looking for specifically, but...
I believe it can help some people, like it helped me
I couldnt sleep without having a chance of a phone options on this tablet until i found the solution the day 3 since owning the Shield. There is an app for this purpose on playstore, and its totally free. To some extent, still worth the try.
Look for editor choice app, after typing in "textplus" you should have it burning into your eyes upon confirming that search. textPlus Free Text + Calls
Now, i havent tried phone calls yet, you get free 5 minutes and the rest can be added free by watching 15 second videos, completing surveys, sharing on social sites etc. (Videos work decent easy , if you got time and patience you could get 100 minutes a day, if not more than that )
You register an account with them, email, simple, pick your area phone and get a number from them. Text works like a charm. Although i did not try to install any other sms app on it, only using the very app itself for messaging and it does serve its purpose well.
I hope i helped to some of you guys. No rooting, common sense simple, free. Exactly what i was looking for.

Carrier Aggregation combination

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out if there's any way to see what carrier aggregation bands are compatible with the Galaxy S8 in particular the Unlocked US Snapdragon device.
In Latin America carriers are starting to use CA for bands 4 (AWS) and 28 (700MHz) and based on the research I've done, it's supported since LTE Release 13, yet I want to be sure before I purchase it and get stuck with no CA during my travels. I know some devices allows an engineer screen to show what CA's are allowed, yet I can't figure out the code for the S8.
Thanks for your help!

I believe that's based on your carrier as to which bands they provide for CA. But while in an area with multiple bands, start a speed test or a download of a larger file and enter the dial pad code *#0011# and it will bring up the menu. A little over halfway down it will say "CA - NOT CONFIG 0 0" when you aren't utilizing CA. When you are utilizing it(during a download, speed test, etc) it will show "CA ADD ###"
I've attached 2 Screenshots of each scenario
Thanks for your answer. The issue is I want to know before traveling if this phone will support CA on that configuration. I know the phone supports both bands 4 and 28 based on the specifications on Samsung website, yet it won't show the allowed CA configurations. This depend on both firmware as well as 3GPP release.
I know on the LG G6 there is a code to check this, yet, I have yet to find a comparable code for the Galaxy S8.
Is there any way to confirm this? It should be supported as 3GPP Release 13 includes it and the S8 is a Release 16, but I can't find any confirmation the firmware supports this.
Thanks again for your help!

Found this website, which shows all possible CA configurations, their 3gpp release, how much bandwidth they can utilize, and pretty much everything under the sun that you could want.
http://niviuk.free.fr/lte_ca_band.php
I'm still partially confused now after reading up on Qualcomm's site because I they contradict themselves in this part
"Not only that, but it also supports 4x4 MIMO on two aggregated LTE carriers.
The result is that the Snapdragon X16 LTE can receive 10 spatial streams of data simultaneously, divided across three LTE carriers."
So is it capable of 3xCA or 2xCA.... I'm pretty sure the s8 can utilize 3... But they worded that oddly
Correct. That's the website I saw that states a Release 13 needed for CA between bands 4 and 28.
The only issue is that at firmware level this also needs to be implemented, they can easily avoid enabling this combination for whatever (logical or not) reason. That's why I wonder if there's any way to check this. Worst part is that I can't test this in the USA since we do not have band 28.
can you try code *#27663368378#?
note this process is for the S7 SM-G930U (unlocked model) and maybe it works for you
see attached screenshots
**EDIT**
screenshot number 6 choose number 8 LTE BAND & CA COMBINATION
maybe numbers may be different for yours too
I am also trying CA here in Asia using a local SIM with my g955u. It is not working. The frequencies are supported. But it seems the firmware is not allowing it at all. Again some carrier limits imposed on customers. I am using g955u unlocked but it is on tmobile. I put a local SIM here in the Philippines. No CA. TMobile is crippling the phone. I plan to change the firmware to the unbranded one.
Also the service mode.
Only *#0011# and *#2263# works
The UE Setting I am still digging which code will open it. BUT I think TMobile disabled the code also
You can check the carrier's network here https://www.frequencycheck.com/
And then you must verify your phone's bands to see if they are compatible.
It is safe to say Carrier Aggregation or LTE-Advance is crippled and is only for use in your original mobile service provider network... outside your telco network and roaming around the world you will not get LTE-A even if the LTE bands are listed in the specs... Waste of Qualcomm modem... I think Apple still has the best implementation of lte modem... the carriers can not dictate on apple... Samsung is more than willing to please carriers... big difference...
We Surely got a crippled LTE phone when outside the original network... unless you root the phone...

lol Apple buys their modems from Qualcomm
Yup Apple buys from Qualcomm but their LTE-A works in any carrier. That is why they have only 3 iPhone models a year. Not including the Chinese variant which have a different lte standard.
I'm also trying to find out which CA combination works for my G950U1. I tried a secret menu and I have there 3 items:
- 2DL CA Combination (under this item is nothing)
- 3DL CA Combination (under this item is nothing)
- 4DL CA Combination - there is 2A-4A-7A-12A which means this:
But I'm using this phone in Europe and I have a problem with CA. I'm sure this phone has no problem in the USA. I did my little research (work for the operator so I ask a colleague for track) find out which UE Capabilities are supported in the operator network.
First of all here are supported bands which is okay for me because we have B1, B3, B7, and B20:
The next important thing is CA combinations. Here is my problem. In my country, we have 2CA to 4CA. On the place where I work is 2CA. And that's the first thing I noticed at G950U1. The mobile couldn't do the CA and I found the reason. In the first picture, you can see the phone supports 6 combinations, but every combination has only 1 band. And that's strange.
Based on this Wireshark log, my phone in my country and in my mobile network doesn't support CA. The question is - what will happen if I manually change / edit CA combination through QxDM program.

Does the S10+ Snapdragon version works in Europe?

Hi there, I really want to get the SD instead of Exynos... I see clear advantages to it.
So the 2 main questions are,
How do you get a SD if you live in Europe?
Will the phone signal work?
Thank you!
As long as the phone is unlocked and has the necessary bands for your carrier then it will work
So far I was able to find the SD version only on EBAY. Sellers look very reputable with more than 10k positive reviews and they ship from China apparently. I just ordered one so will let you know my experience (512 GB version, black).
The majority, if not all, of the EMEA has full GSM coverage.
So, depending on your region, you'll certainly have connectivity but it all depends on what bands your carrier offers.
From my experience, 2G/3G/3.5 (UMTS) bands are plentiful.
On 4G, some carriers only have one compatible band whereas others have 5 or more.

Couple of questions regarding S975(F) model

Greetings.
The international model of the S10+ is (S975)F but the 975F is shown to be for different countries. For example: in B&H they have the Latin America version and (they used to, don't carry it any more) the "International" version. Both carried SM-975F mode.
Does anyone know what is the difference between the Latin America and International models? 3G and 4G LTE bands are identical in both models and both come with the Exynos 9820, so why is one "Latin version" and another International?
Also, in various places, the weight of the S10+ is 198 grams; in the Samsung web site it is 175 grams with an asterisk next to it but without further explanation. In gsmarena.com it is 175/198 gram, again without any explanation.
Does anyone know what is the actual weight?
Thanks.

Are you sure the model number is exactly the same for the Latin American and international models?
If that's actually correct then those two varients probably run slightly different firmware.

They are both S975F, could be slight variation after the 'F' (as oppose to N. America version which is 975U for example).

It looks like you are comparing the same phone in different colors.
I had a Latin American Mix 3 and the only difference between it and the international version was that the packaging was in Spanish instead of English. Otherwise it was exactly the same phone with the same model number and specs.
If you see a Latin American S10+ with the same model number as the international version then it's the same phone--with the Latin American model the packaging might be in Spanish and it might come with a different wall adapter for charging than the international.

I've been a MintSim/Mint Mobile customer for 5 years. I read that they were going to start offering phones but forgot all about it.
It's interesting that they are offering the Exynos model. It's cheaper but they are probably dealing with an international distributor rather than directly with Samsung because Samsung can't sell the Exynos model in the United States.
Unless that's a different Mint Mobile outside the US.

Indeed the two phones in the comparison chart are different colors simply because they don't show same color of both Latin and International (they sold the International version up until last Friday but for some reason discontinued; "no longer able to source it" is the official response from the store), but other than the 4-letter color in the model #, it looks like the same exact phone:
This is the Latin model - MFR # SM-G975FDSBLK
and this is the International model - MFR # SM-G975FDGBLU
Both dual sim, 128GB S10+ phones and as you could see in the specs they are identical.
The Mint Mobile is a 3-months 8gb free sim card that is included with the phone.

The last 3 digits are the colors (black & blue) and the digit before that must be the region the set was intended for sale in (South America & Global).
They are the exact same phone packaged differently for different regions. It's also possible the setup screen for the South American version defaults to Spanish before you choose English as your preferred language.
For your purposes there should be no difference whichever one you buy.
