Thinking about getting rid of this and going with OnePlus 3 again..
Am I the only one who doesn't have good battery life ? I'm on like day 2 or 3 and doesn't seem good at all. Also the cameras don't seem as good especially slomo..it looks so noisy and low res..any ideas?

Battery life is great for most of us. Not sure if you got a lemon. Both phones have similar battery life. Camera wise, the one plus 3 wins. The axon 7s camera doesn't impress at all. If camera is important, your options are the one plus 3 or the honor 8.

Maybe I'll just wait to see if there is any improving software updates or maybe see how cm13 is
I have the Axon 7, OnePlus 3 and Honor 8, and I get about the same battery life on all 3. About 5-6 hours of SOT with 16-18 hours of all day usage. I also agree that the camera is better on the honor 8 and OnePlus 3, but I'm hoping a software update makes the camera a bit better on the Axon.
Audio both headphones and speakers are incredible, amoled 1440 also impressive, oneplus 3 screen hurts eyrs looking at. Screen is crap and audio is no better. I got one and felt relief gettin rid of it.
Camera and software are better, also dev community.
So if you are more on dev and photo side choose 1+3, if multimedia fan stay with axon 7.
About honor 8, don't forget GPU is much worse, and glass body is fragile and fingerprints nagnet.

Screen looked sharp on op3 to me lol axon 7 doesn't impress me..maybe the included screen protector I have on it degrades it ?
The LG V20 that was just shown recently looks like my next phone. It's got everything this phone has and more including backcover and removeable battery. LG does get decent custom rom support and factory updates are better imo than Samsung. The only issue I have in the past is LG tends to get hotter because of LCD. LG did mention V20 has ES9218 DAC from ESS.
My beef with the Axon 7 is the antennas are weak and GPS signals are problematic. I've had the G4 and the signals and GPS are strong.

Have your vision checked.,seriously. The OP3 is 1080p and pentile, meaning the actual ppi is around 330, which is low and visible. Unless you mash your face right up to the axon 7 (uses the s6's amoled) you wont see the pixels.

lol I'm 17 I have perfect vision. It looks nice and vibrant to me but yeah I do know that you can see the pixels easier on op3 vs axon 7 but from normal distance the axon 7 didn't "wow" me maybe this screen protector doesn't do much justice for it, especially since it's a finger print smudge magnet

The Axon 7’s 5-inch 2560 x 1440 pixel display is bright and clear, faring well in open sunlight. This is another instance in which it outdoes the OnePlus 3, which is also 5.5-inches, but only 1920 x 1080 pixels when it comes to resolution.
The main issue with the One Plus 3’s (OP3) display is the accuracy of its color rendition, an issue that blew up the company’s online forums until it released an update to giving users access to sRGB developer options, though this, reported many, was not entirely successful.
While I’m no colour accuracy expert, the Axon 7’s display colours appear correct, and the display looks noticeably richer than the OP3’s screen.

Are you using the screen protector that came inside the box (the one you have to apply yourself) os the plastic that come on the phone from the factory ?
If it's the latter, take it off as that isn't a screen protector. Apply the one that came inside the box yourself, or go naked.
It makes a huge difference as the one already on is just there for packaging purposes.
So due to some problems with the quality (bootloop, severe ghosting, etc.) I got refunded,
now the thing is I really loved this phone, the camera was amazing, the screen was crisp and the device looked and felt premium.
What I am most worried about is I don't seem to see a phablet that definitely is an upgrade in terms of camera quality.
The Note 7 first scratches and then explodes, the iPhone 7 Plus 128gb costs 1009 Euro in Europe and besides those two I don't really know any 5,5 inch or bigger that definitely beat the G4 in cam quality
Any suggestions? Anyone upgraded from the G4? If yes, to what? How does the cam compare?

G5 seems to tick all the boxes on your check list.
-Great Camera
-Great Screen
-Metallic,slim and premium
Though a number of short coming too. Actually I read that LG were pretty disappointed with the sales they have so far registered.
Personally would go for Nexus 6p or wait for LG V20
I'd recommend Oneplus 3. Had it for a day now and don't think I'll use my G4 anymore.
Bought my 1+3 it at the same time as I sent my G4 to warranty repair, it was rooted and bootloader unlocked etc.
Still got it repaired for free. (replaced motherboard) But no G4 for me anymore, guess I'll keep it as a spare.

Haven't had the time to try too much, but the few shots I have taken on auto settings, look great. It has a manual mode too, but it hasn't got so many settings as the G4.
I will try to switch to sammy, after doing the g2/g3/g4. Sever ghosting and poor battery....S7 edge has it all, great battery, great camera, beautiful design, water and dust proof....
What about the Axon 7?
Get the samsung galaxy note 4 i know its old but has qhd and removable battery and sd card and has a lot of roms
Note 7 has a nice overall size... Overpriced iphone territory , but with the rep it is currently getting, a price drop will be right around the corner since fire hazard doesn't scream flagship lol
I d prefer S6 EDGE.
xiaomi 3s 4000mah battery and im ok...
I think the V20 would be a very good replacement for the G4.
Very good hardware and specs for the price you have to pay.
Thanks for the suggestions guys, V20 is not available in my country yet and I don't know if it will be but it is interesting. Note 7 seems to not be liked at airlines so I would avoid that. I am thinking about the Oneplus 3.
What worries me the most is that I wouldnt really like a downgrade in the camera department. G4 made great shots even when it was a bit dark!

One plus three takes good shots overall. In my opinion the camera was the weakest point of the 1+3. Software and XDA support is amazing. And the price point is almost unbeatable for the specs you receive.

I had G4 H815. Than the radio died and I've sent it for repair. It took them about two months to repair it. In the meantime I was looking for a replacement. The OnePlus 3 was the first thought, but the camera shots are nowhere near G4 in my opinion. It had AMOLED screen which bleeds my eyes with saturation . Samsung also uses their AMOLED screens which I don't like at all, but the camera is comparable. Nexus 6P is also amazing phone, maybe the best replacement for G4 regarding camera and premium feel. Also other Huawei flagship phones.
I ended up returning to my beloved G4 as nothing compares to leather, 5.5" IPS screen and great camera.
I'm waiting for a Pixel, but I'm a bit concerned that it would be with AMOLED screen also

Well I did switch to s7 edge. Build quality is from another world (tho I bought spigen case, just as for all the lg series I owned) screen is something you need to experience yourself. And it's the first phone I dont feel the need to root! Yesterday with 3hrs20min Sot I still had battery left 40%! You can't beat that, actually you can't beat any of the sammy features! G4 photos still look better but the autofocus of s7 is a unbelievable fast! I feelt in love with lg2 back then after owning s4 and they ruined it! Such a shame

Exactly, in good light the +3 camera is competitive with the best out there but once light starts to get low, the +3 won't compete with the G4.The 6P is better than the +3 camera. But i still give the edge to the G4 over the 6P.
This isn't surprising when its built to such a tight budget. +3 is for people that are not too serious about camera. About price, performance. 3rd party support.
Oh and there is no microsd on the +3 either.

6P is the closest you can get. But you can't take too many shots one after the other. If you can consider the 6P then i don't see why the s7e or s7 cannot be an options .better cameras than the 6P. Te downside is because they use 12MP 4:3 sensor for some strange reason, if you want 16:9 aspect your resolution drops to 9MP. That will lose in some cases to native 16:9 16MP on the LG's.
The edge variant has the option for clip on lenses. The advantage here is you get wide angle or 2x zoom AND retain OIS with the f1.7 aperture. Something neither LG nor apple can do with their secondary cameras but then you don't have to carry extra lenses.
If i was in your shoes and maybe i will be one day, my options are another G4 for less than i paid the first time (such a unique phone in so many ways) or the G6. There will never be another phone like the G4, tapering edges, slight curve, good feel in the hand, leather etc.
The G6 i expect will get the sensor upgrade. G4, V10, G5, V20, g flex 3? all use the same sensor. The software has improved but the sensor remains the same. This is how LG does things. It was the same with G2 up to G flex 2.
Going from being a Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 6, & Nexus 5x user, this is my feeling of what Google had to do to knock it out of the park....At this point I won't buy it unless the price drops a lot. For now I'm sticking with my Nexus 6. If it dies, I'll probably buy a Nexus 6P and load some XDA roms.
Attached is an image I photoshopped of how I wish the bezels looked and a possible option for a qi charger that would have had a panel to allow for Qi, because I think the aluminum cases interfere with Qi? But just an idea and venting...

IMO ugly sorry. Pixels official design wins who cares if it looks like an iphone remotely. Haters got 2 hate then dont get 1
I would hate the OPs design. I already think the bottom bezel is too small on my 6P to comfortably touch the navigation buttons (I have big hands, long fingers).
Your design would be even worse in that regard.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
That looks like possibly a better fit for many....
You can't have the top speaker and camera in the same spot unless you want a massive bump on the back.
Front looks cool but the back looks terrible imho. Also what is the huge obsession with Qi charging? I used it with my nexus 4 and it was slow/gimmick at best. I got over it fairly quickly. The new rapid charging standard seems way better. I know google might be embellishing on the claim of 7 hours of battery in 15 mins but even if its close to this in real life I'm with it.
Insanely ugly

You also have to design it with the insides in mind. you can't cram 200+ features into a phone and expect it to have a low profile.
Try this out. Notification on rear glass only active when face down. Slightly slimmer bezels (OP was too aggressive). And of course the pixel light bar.
Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
I like your idea of a Pixel light bar like the Pixel C has. It does somewhat waste battery, but it gives it a unique identity like a glowing Apple logo.
I will play too. Nothing too drastic, though. I like the phone as is.
1. I added a second speaker grille. I pushed both of them to the edge (similar to the old M9 prototype that never came to be).
2. I put the pixel light bar in the top speaker grille.
3. Shortened the chin.
4. Shortened the glass on the back. Gave it a bit more character.

Would have been awesome to have a smaller, shorter version of that light bar on the center of the bottom bezel and have it blend into the bezel to be unseen when not lit up like the the Nexus 4 notification light. Then have each color light up sequentially when you get notification and have it move to the Google Assistant voice, Knight Rider style.
Hello guys.
My parents gifted me a brand new Moto G5 Plus (2GB RAM/Dual sim) bought from Chile.
My only two android phones had software issues (I got them for free so no complaints) so therebefore I never care so much about them. Both were small and resistants (S3 Mini and Moto G LTE - xt1040).
The S3 Mini ended with the camera blurred because got stripped with the use. My Moto G works like a charm, many strips on the screen but nothing important, the phone fallen a lot times but never broke .
Now this is a new level for me, giant screen. It scares me, any care you recommend me? I don't want to use with screen protectors or anything, I really hate them.
Also, I read that the screen has gorilla glass, whats about the back camera? Flash and the whole circle has any protection or should I take so much care?
Anyway the phone is amazing but I really want lineage os, I hope we get it soon!.
EDIT:
Which launcher comes with the phone? I saw on internet that has pixel launcher but its a lot different to the pixel launcher that comes with google pixel phone (I have the same on my Moto G and it isn't transparent when you search all apps)
EDIT2:
Is there anything to change about camera settings? My photos doesn't look good, colors are darkness and the definition looks very bad, even doing focus. I didn't tried outside so maybe is the light inside my home.
The only thing I changed is the aspect ratio. I am using 4:3 because of 12 MP, not sure if I should use it or change again to 16:9 (9.1MP).
I attached a photo.

Take Care of camera bump as it get lot of scratches without bumper case
Sure this is pure speculation but according to the leaks, the core design is same as S8 with even more screen to body ratio. They haven't cracked the fingerprint under display so it's on the back below the camera. And it may have Samsung's new 512GB storage.
With this, would you still consider upgrading your S8 to S9?
Nope. S8+ has been perfect for me as a phone (barring a screen issue) so I'll keep it until it dies.
Same here. Nothing in the Note 8 or the S9 that looks like a worthy upgrade from the S8+.
Absolutely not. Hate edges, back glass, and these stupid top and bottom black bezels which with 18.5:9 screen looks horrible.
Plus lag. I am going for the pure android ie oneplus 6, and Sony Edge or mate 11
Nah, this device does everything so well. It will take a much larger leap forward.
S9 will run on oreo, meaning treble is built in, meaning aosp android has to boot.... aosp android has to boot! Wubba lubba dub dub *****es!
I see no reason to go to Samung. Current S8+ is completely satisfied with performance, etc.
In the S9 I did not notice any breakthrough technologies to consider the transition to it. Dual camera??? Best processor??? it's all evolution, I'm waiting for something revolutionary ))))
The s8+ is probably the last Samsung device i will own, but, credit is due where its due. The S8+, hands down has been and pretty sure will be hard to beat for maybe a year maybe 2. This phone, although a bunch of headacjes, has been the best phone ive ever owned and ive went tbrough a lot of phones. The speed on this is perfect, though, the touchscreen pisses me off. Cant text any words correctly. But as far as upgrading to the S9, there is no reason to unless you are an like an apple junkie that chases the newest things out for no apparent reason. The S8/S8+ handsdown best on the market. Stamped with approval by me haha.
I normally keep my phones for years, I ran my Note 3 right up until I received my S8+, but I am eagerly searching for a new phone. I will never again buy a phone with any sort of curved edge to it. You just cannot find a tempered glass screen protector that actually functions correctly with it. I guess I really should have looked into it before pre-ordering 3 of these things for my kids and myself. It's extremely heartbreaking, because I love the Galaxy and Note line of phones. But, for the love of God Almighty, give me a flat screen! I also concur completely with prfraczek on the bezels and back glass. Straight up disappointing.

No way, the S8+ is perfect and most of us have a 2 year contract. Most reviews I've read about about S8+ v Note 8 says there's no comparison or the S8+ wins.
Honestly I was expecting a giant leap with iPhone X like bezel less design without a notch and a finger print scanner beneath the glass. Vivo even demonstrated it few months ago and I dunno why Samsung is reluctant to use it. Maybe they are holding onto these stuffs for galaxy 10 or something.

The only logical placement for the front camera and ambient/proximity sensor is on a notch like iPhone X or in the 'eye' like in the essential phone.
I've never know Samsung devices to have an IR blaster, at least after the Galaxy S6 era
As for the fingerprint sensor, don't you know that FP sensors are in the sides beneath the power button like in Xperia Z series and even the new Razer phone.
Meizu has a device in the works that has separate power button and FP sensor in the side bezel. Gotta see what type of convince it offers.

I love the Galaxy S8+, but I'm going to need an Exynos device clearly next year, I would have loved to see pure AOSP because I think Samsung should just stick to hardware and let Google manage software. Snapdragon variants battle people that hold this view.
