Can anyone provide an unlock.bin from a H870? - LG G6 Questions and Answers

I unsuccessfully tried to unlock the bootloader of my H870DS by trying to follow the steps from the recent V30 bootloader exploit.
I flashed the H870 Nougat KDZ, went ok but couldn't do anything on the phone after logging in.
After that I flashed the H870 Oreo KDZ, this surprisingly let me move around the phone normally, everything seemed to work except for cellular network.
Flashed the same unlock.bin file from the thread, no luck. Tried with the DIY unlock.bin (txt file saved as .bin) and no luck again.
I'm hoping that MAYBE with an unlock.bin from a H870 it will work.
Thanks!

The unlock.bin file is created to every device based in the IMEI. You cannot use a different one in the H870, as it will not work as expected.
The only thing that will give is Headaches...

Yeah I knew that already but it worked for the V30, I'm just hoping the exploit works on the G6 too.

ROOT LG G6 posts everywhere, real or fake?

I keep seeing post all over the internet saying the same thing. Enable Developer Mode (clicking about multiple times, as always) then fastboot reboot bootloader, then install TWRP and then SuperSU from that.
Is this real or nonsense that is just being spread like wildfire?
I have two LG-G6 I just bought, but dont want to risk a fake root which make hinder getting a true Root later on, nor a more complete root becoming available after installing 400 apps.
If its not on XDA its fake and not to be trusted. Good rule of thumb. Also there is no way of recovering a bricked device this early.
I couldn't agree more with @bamfsig45 there's fake news ESPECIALLY when it comes to phones everywhere. Wait for something to come off XDA.
Yeah, I figured that too. It's just seeing it so much and people swearing by it had me a bit curious. I'll definitely be waiting to see it here first before actually implementing the root though.
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/lg-g6-root-twrp-recovery/ this is the site to look for when the phone launches tomorrow just as good as XDA

I can't vouch for this one on the G6, but kingroot also said this bs with the g5 when it wasn't rooted yet either. They don't have much credibility imo
Kingo root did not work, Kingroot did not work, and a couple of others. I used an AT&T G6.
Greg
From what I have read, they are polishing it up and making it work for the general public for the T-Mobile model only. The T-Mobile model allows boot-loader unlock, out of the box.
KingRoot 3.5 doesn't work for me
Kingroot has zero credibility.

LG G6 H870 European model had indeed got root via SuperSU 2.82 and TWRP (unofficially and slightly buggey).

US997 Model bootloader unlock some supported & some "NOT">>> WHAT GIVES??

US997 Model bootloader unlock some supported & some "NOT">>> WHAT GIVES??
So this is some what of an SOS in the form of a discussion..
I recently puchased the LG G6 US997 unlocked version.. At first I wasnt jumping on the root bandwagon immediately due to slow development.
As of lately things are starting to pick up so I gave it a whirl only to find out per the LG development site that my version (US997 "Z" is what LG called it) was not supported.. After multiple attempts and being advised form the LG site that I woul be locked out after 9 try's I bailed after 4..
Has anyone esle ran into this wall? If so whats the "work around"? (IF ANY)
Ive searched google for days and the dedicated thread by @autoprime and unless im missing something I keep coming up empty handed.
Any insight on this matter is extremley appreciated.. Thanks in advance:good:

No use, that version (US997z) is not supported!! Only the US global market variant US997 (without the z) is, and the Global Euro variant (H870)... Everyone else can't get root or bootloader unlocked...
Unfortunately, that's how LG rolls.

Didnt know that when i did mine it listed us997 no different variants thanks for the info
The exact thing happened to me. I thought I was buying the US unlocked phone. Nowhere in the software or on the box does it list the phone as US977Z. '
Turns out it's the US Cellular variant of the phone. If you'd like, commit to the bounty thread for this phone. It's our only hope.
Looks like I have the same problem with the US997U. I thought that extra U on the end just meant Unlocked, but that tiny difference is preventing me from unlocking my phone. Lame.

LGv20 US996 Root, Trying Dirty Santa, Now I am stuck at trying to configure LGUP

I've spent the past 3 days trying to root my LGv20 US996. Apparently I purchased one that isn't capable of being rooted by the official LG website. When going through the dirty santa hack, I just discovered that my phone has been patched and the hack no longer works. I've read that I can flash 12a using LGUP to then apply the hack.
Goodness this is complicated.
I can't seem to figure out how to configure LGUP or find the 12a firmware. Can anyone help? I am reading the guides for LGUP and when I load the program it asks for passwords, countries of origin, all sorts of stuff. Also I can't even seem to find the appropriate 12a firmware.

Lgus996
The us996 is unlocked and suportted but there's another version of this device from a company called brightpoint and lg does not support bootloader unlock

Noob Question Please please reply....

Hi,im using a couple phone,ip8 and an LG G4 LS991,i love lg but things that i hate is this g4 is the bootloader cant be unlock coz my device antirollback was v4 and i cant root or modifying the phone.
Looking for a month but many thread say the v4 cant be bootloader unlocked.
So...
I want buy a brand new LG V20 or a Refurbish one,but thing that i want to know,is there a version of the V20 that the bootloader cant be unlock and have a antirollback version like the LG G4 LS991???
Please answer me,your ans very helpful, after solved ill delete the thread.
Huge Thanks.
Whatever you do, don't EVER buy a phone from Sprint. You really should stay away from ALL carriers, but if you must buy a carrier branded phone -- T-Mobile is the only choice.
For now, the LS997 (Sprint V20) is the only model that can't be rooted.

If you are unlocked and running a global rom, you can try but take the stock kernel boot.img backup just in case it loops. Its best to rewrite all partitions on the T mobile device if you are unlocked which can be done by using the unbrick tool once :good:
Edit: You should follow this thread for a detailed discussion :good:
U may have to change the device check for any op6 kernel...they all boot. I tested every kernel. Flash rules.. And we can't use the tool to rewrite the critical partitions, we don't have access to them..can u please see why we cannot access them even with fastboot oem unlock_critical? We are all totally unlocked

T-Mobile users currently cannot use the unbrick tool to overwrite critical partitions due to a hardware/software check that mismatches.

All these files are possessed by the support staff who generally share those during a remote session and there on those are further uploaded. So someone with t-mobile variant can contact support and try getting the tool.
