In magisk you can hide apps(magisk hide) also there's a safetynet fix module for magisk.

doesnt work. The app called PushTAN it of a german bank. It sends to you a confirmation message that you need to enter when you want to make any sort of bank transfer or something like that. When I push the app it automatically closed.

Please: You should mention the app and your device setup if you want further detailed assistance. People with similar problems on that app may help but without the exact app name it's not possible.
"Doesnt work" seems to me that you already tested both methods on magisk(which version?)?
guessing it's that app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.starfinanz.mobile.android.pushtan it's the silliest banking app I know.

Have you tried "Hide Magisk Manager" in Settings of the Manager App?
Maybe the App checks for Package Names.
The TAN App of DKB (another german bank) does this, but you can use it with this trick.

Probably you misunderstood them, because "Magisk Hide" (where you select apps to hide from root) is something else than "Hide Magisk Manager" (which repackages the Magisk app to a different package name).

Yeah that's the problem with the translation as you can see in my Screenshot. Magisk hide isn't the same as magisk hide mentioned before:silly:
some apps doesn't work if the kernel is permissive even if you hide them in magisk.
You need to make kernel enforcing to run the apps.

I have the MicroG apps, as well as tingle on my Moto G4 Play.
For apps that require Google Play Services (Protonmail, Nextdoor, etc), the "missing Google Play Services" errors are gone, but I still don't receive push notifications. Nextdoor app simply crashes with the error "Nextdoor has stopped - Open app again or Mute until device restarts"
This thread regarding Unifiedlp is similar to what I see occurring in Microg: https://github.com/ale5000-git/tingle/issues/23
The dev states, "This usually happen when you install the app as user app, on Android 7+ it should be installed as system app" - can any one point me to info on how to do that?
This is my first time installing a new OS to a phone.

I already installed microg & tingle on my device; I can uninstall the microg apps to use this, but how do I uninstall tingle (I don;t see any presence for it)?
Will this installer simply overwrite/ignore anything that already exists?
I think there may simply be a setting I'm overlooking, perhaps.. like, unifiedlp is all unticked in the self-check, but the app shows under settings, so it exists and is installed.
Not sure what else to check

Tingle isn't a thing that can be installed, it simply patch a file on the device.
It is needed for microG so if you use it, I suggest to NOT undo the patch.

Yes, the installer will simply overwrite anything that already exists (except if you have already installed microG on the /system with custom filenames but it is unlikely).
Thanks to the Signal messaging app, I clued in on what I was doing wrong.
If anyone else researching this issue stumbles across this, here's what fixed it:
1) Update the affected app, if updates are available
2) microG Settings -> Google Cloud Messaging: Enable, not sure if I needed Google device registration, but I enabled it, too; as well as Google SafetyNet
Today I received my first notification from one of the apps I was struggling with. Nothing for Protonmail yet, though.

SafetyNet isn't needed for most apps.
If you use Push notifications you must enable Google device registration and Google Cloud Messaging.
Reinstall all the apps installed before microG (it is needed to get the permissions); also in case an app don't have working push notification you must also delete its app data.

It is in the Android settings inside Apps, but if you uninstall it will also clear data.
TV streaming app blocks my device because it is rooted (for content protection reasons)
Is there a way to hide the root or at least turn it off quickly ?

Did you hide Google framework and Google playstore prior to installing the app?? If not, uninstall the app and try it once.
2 years later, 2 android versions ahead and i have the same damn issue, with another streaming app. Have you found any solution?

Have you cleared the cache or data for the affected apps? I've noticed apps seem to remember if they have detected root and clearing cache will usually make clear it up.
Ive cleared cache, rename any magisk word in files, i even unroot my phone.
After unroot8ng and clearing cache app is working.
After root, selec5 app to hide root and run the app, it detected as rooted device.
Easy fix
Install
Magiskhide props config
From magisk modules
Working perfectly for me
Not working at all. Installed module. Unable to run the app.

Before you do all that work, you should try Canary version 18.2 Magisk. No need for renaming files, installing a module config. Flash the 18.2 Magisk Canary and that's it.
Actually, for me it is working partly. After disable and enabling magisk hide it works for a few hours.
Will try to update to v19, maybe that fixes it.
But glad to hear not to be the only one having issues.
Edit: V19 fixed it for me.
Damn. I still havr nothing
Try going into the settings of magisk and select hide magisk manager and repackage with different name. That works for me.
I am a grab driver and i just wonder how dev can fix root detection by grab driver application. What i have done hide magisk, repackage, hide anything about google but it stills detect.

Seems there is an xposed module for hiding an app from another, if you care to test:

Hi friends,
I noted that Grab app itself also asks for superuser permission at the start.
Does anyone have a clue why the app needs it and how I can check which commands it runs?

It's asking for root to fool you. Easiest way for an app to detect a device is rooted is for it to try and gain root rights itself.
I have rooted 7T Pro 5G successfully, but after installing AdAway, it does not work due to not being able to access the host file location. Probably due to the different system structure here - but has anyone gotten it to work?
You have to root to use this app, and without it, the others don't really do much - especially with Google crap.
You need to enable systemless hosts module
