I'm planning to buy a new phone. I was considering Zenfone Max Pro M1 among others due to good specs for the price. I wanted to know if it has carrier aggregation which can work with Reliance Jio in 2CA (B3+B5, B5+B40, B3+B40) or 3CA (B3+B5+B40 (tdd+fdd)) mode.
The chip present inside it SD636, does have 3CA mentioned in modem spec sheet, however I can't see that in phone specs?
indian ver not have 4G+
Russia, Thailand, Taiwan and Indonesia. ver enebled 3CA
Italian variant doesn't support 4g+. Is only lte cat. 4

Hello, I found on Aliexpress some seller that claim that installing a custom firmware is possible to unlock all the LTE bands supported by Redmi Note 2, does anyone has experience about that?
Buying a Redmi Note 2 TDD which firmware should I install to unlock 4G LTE 1800mhz 2100mhz and 2600mhz bands ?
You can install without problems a Xiaomi.eu weekly. The base is from FDD firmware so you won't have problems

I'd like to know if this is possible myself. I bought the Redmi Note 2 from gearbest. I live in the US. Even though the info says it's for worldwide use, it's not. I can only get 2G on this phone through all US carriers. This phone has LTE bands 1, 3, 7, 38, 39, 40, 41, enabled and that's it. I guess it's good for everywhere else besides the US for 3G and 4G.
I ask as I am considering importing one.
I am now using ZE520KL (Taiwan model) of Zenfone 3, it has 1.6MP back camera, fingerprint module, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of ROM, 5.2" screen, 1080p, dual SIM slots and micro-SD slot (you can only choose between SIM2 and micro-SD card).
You may use the information I provided above to compare with the information on ASUS UK website. I hope this helps you.
do zenfone 3 really not sopport quick charging?
Yes, it does not support quick charge.
Since you're from taiwan, you may differentiate one thing for us. Does ZE552KL has two variant 32GB/3GB and 64GB/4GB.
After checking Asus Taiwan Store, there is NO 3GB variant for ZE552KL but I am not sure if there is one in other countries.
Usually, the difference, if any, is in supported 2G/3G/4G network bands only. I think the Taiwan version should support all popular Asian/European bands.
The countries differ from the rest of the world in term of network bands are US, Korea and Japan. But nowadays, even smartphones for those markets do support "international" bands for Asia/Europe
So there is a version of the Redmi 3s and 3s prime that is sold in Mexico that supports 4g lte (called only 4g in here)...
I was wondering, does it have different hardware? Or were the antennas for mexican 4g already there and activated via software?
I'm really confused on the subject and can't find any info as to why some xiaomi phones work with mexican 4g(Which uses some bands that are also used in the us).
I'm considering buying this or the 4 prime and was wondering if there could be a way to activate global lte on the 4 primer later on.
I was also wondering if I NEED to buy the phone in here to be able to use the 4g or if I might be able to pick up a phone from aliexpress and have 4g too.
Hope someone can help me with this info
The hardware is different but you can also get the LTE (4G) version for Mexico on Ali Express.
In Mexico you use LTE band 2 (Movistar: 1900 MHz) and 4 (AT&T,TelCel: 1700 MHz). So when you want to buy a Redmi 3S on Ali, make sure you buy the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Special Edition. It supports the LTE bands needed in your country.
!!
Thanks! =)
I was reading on sites that list the specs of the device but couldn't find anywhere that said that it supported lte bands 2 and 4 so I was quite confused. Thanks a lot.
I have ZB601KL device - 6GB I wold like to know that is the device support LTE 2CA ?
I do not get the 4G+ symbol, only 4G so I assume that carrier aggregation is not being supported in my present scenario. However, CA depends on the carrier, band and SoC (modem). SD636 with X12 LTE modem is CA capable and you can manually enable CA if you are BL unlocked+rooted.
Presently in Indian region I think Jio has deployed CA in Band 3+5 / 5+40 / 3+40 & also 3CA whereas Airtel has deployed CA in B3+B40 but it's 4G network is patchy and only available in some areas. Rest operators I don't know
I got 4G+ on my Nokia 7 Plus when using Airtel at the same time its doesn't on Max Pro
It has to be implemented by Asus like it has done on the ZB602KL variant.
Can any of the devs advice if the modem firmware of ZB602KL be flashed onto ZB601KL variant?
Hey guys which OnePlus 8 pro phone has the most 5G compatibility with T-Mobile 2/4/66/5/12/46/48/71/N41/N71? I found this on redditt a little bit confusing for me looking to upgrade to one8pluspro Any help would be appreciated
Thx in advance
In T-Mobile USA network you should buy US-model of OnePlus so don't buy IN2023 (Europe), IN2020 (China) or IN2021 (India). You should buy US-version IN2025-version of OnePlus, this support n71 and n41 bands.
I have listed bands, carrier aggregation and dual connectivity combinations here: https://cacombos.com/device?model=IN2025
