[Fonts][Oreo] S7 Edge won't apply any fonts.. - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

As title suggests. I had saved some fonts apks that worked on my s7 edge when I was on nougat. Now, I just checked today after transferring them from my pc that after upgrading to oreo those previously working fonts are also giving the error that fonts are not supported, contact developer/supplier etc etc.
What is this samsung really? You are taking the basic right to customize our device for which we paid quite $$$. Samsung is making a basic free thing like a font like a paid subscription. This is the dumbest idea ever that could be from samsung.
So I request any expert member to guide if there's anyway (even a paid one) to install new fonts on oreo btu release ? Any way like substratum / wings etc?
I am not in any way requesting a paid thing ( which samsung is continually changing everything from free to paid ), I am just asking a way to install fonts. I guess if water is sold in these times then paid fonts is a little thing. I fear in future we had to pay for even taking pics from camera or using bluetooth file transfers ...

Just a suggestion. Provide some additional information in your OP. The more information the more likely someone is to chime in.

Thanks for suggestion bro, I am sorry if I had done something against the rules, but I didn't meant that way.
Anyways I found a solution myself, if anyone wants to get fonts, they need to follow this guide :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/themes/fonts-wings-samsung-fonts-1200-root-t3710688
Install fonts apk, then enable that package overlay using adb commands written in that thread. The only downside is after reboot you can't choose fonts anymore and had to delete font package and then reboot, install package again, reboot, use adb and then you can choose fonts again until reboot..

Yes, the manually installed fonts don't work after the Oreo update. I wish there was a minimal font pack with less than 100 clean fonts like the one you mentioned. 1200 fonts are an overkill and most of them are large and/or look weird. I ended up uninstalling the package.

There is no method currently working for installing and applying only desired fonts on unrooted S7 edge on oreo as far my knowledge.. the only other method apart from which I posted above is by theme galaxy app.. search in playstore for "theme galaxy".. you can search your favorite fonts in that app and make font package and then include it in your theme when compiling it.. and you can apply the fonts.. but this feature is only for the paid users ..

You would need to use Fontchanger, but why would you want to get rid of Roboto? It's so clean and cool. It defines what Android is.

tekken179:- Can you tell me which font is best suited for Nexus 4??
And how can I get it?

in my mediafirefolder is a flashable zip ...
You can either use an app or goto system/fonts, just make sure you keep the file names the same
Personally nothing looks better for me more than the Roboto Slab font from Google Now
Opifico looks good too.

it´s a flashable zip for recovery
you need a custom recovery like CWM or Twrp to install it
try the options mentioned here...

Make sure to take Nand before doing anything.... to avoid boot loop....

check the playstore and there should be apps to be able to change fonts without rooting
read this as well
http://www.androidauthority.com/how-to-change-the-fonts-on-your-android-phone-32078/
safest way to change the fonts is using some 3rd party launcher.....
if u don't want to root and don't want to use 3rd party launcher... and try to use any app to change the font other than launcher,...
u may get into boot loop...so be very careful before doing this....
if you got into boot loop with out rooting... u may brick ur phone.....

Cracking the monotype font restriction on MM/N

( bump of an older Post I made )
So, I got an S7 edge a while ago and I decided I wanted to install some custom fonts on my phone. So i went to google play and downloaded a few flipfonts. I went to settings>fonts and selected a font to use as the default and hit done. Unsupported font error! I was browsing XDA and saw another thread with a reply that said something along the lines of the font needs to be signed by monotype, something like that. Another reply to that same thread said that editing the samsung sans apk and replacing the samsung sans TTF file with your desired font and resigning it makes a valid font apk. How do you do resign the apk? I can add in the font that i want but it gives the unsupported error again. Thanks in advance!

How to change system font? (Can't find the option under Display settings)

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone could please tell me how to change the system font style on my phone. I've tried to search, but everything I've found says to go under Display settings and select the Font option, but I couldn't find any option to actually change the font style, there's only one for dimensions
If this is not possible, my main complain is how bad WhatsApp looks to me with this font: maybe there's some workaround to only change WhatsApp font?
Thanks for your attention
You need root access to do so for now. OnePlus font not yet added but is coming soon on the OTA. Till then if you have root access you can install any font you want.

As I said without root access you can't just wait for OP to add the OnePlus font from the beta.
If you decide to unlock I have a guide on the guides section

Already out, should have by now, if not the maybe try a VPN to get it to push. Alternatively download the update and run manually through the updater.
The new slate font looks similar to the cyanogen os system font from the OnePlus One to me.
Hi everybody,
it seems that slate new font is available only on phone with English language set. I'm on 4.5.7 but font option is not present.
If you want change font on 4.5.7 just search font in settings.

Wiping Cache, wiping system cache, did not help. I donot have the Font settings under the display settings on one plus 5, or via search in the display settings. This just goes to Font size.

The Team Wings fonts vanish once you change themes via the Samsung Themes app and there is no way to bring them back short of reinstalling the whole thing. Are there any solutions that persist across changing themes?

Seems to be working for me. I downloaded the app and restarted. Opened the display options and under fonts I looked for GoogleSans. Applied the don't and it worked. I also have the wings font pack installed as well. Don't know if that has anything to do with why it worked for me.
Before you can see the new fonts, you will need to enable overlay layers for the APK, either through ADB or Substratum, if you are using the app.
The full instructions are on this thread: I don't use substratum, so I installed them using option 2.
I didn't do anything either... No substratum or adb method. Just installed, rebooted and the fonts are listed.
Thanks for uploading the fonts.

Fonts for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9

Hello Everyone!!
I have found a way (I think) to create useable installable fonts in APK stand alone installer package. Please try this font and see if it installs and works straight away on your device without any other loaders, external apps, or hacks. I am using a bone stock ATT Galaxy Note 9 512gb model and using the "MyFiles" app built in to install these packages. It worked on my Note 9 100%. Send me feedback. Please no flaming. I am trying to help us all. If my font is successful I will create more upon request from my library of thousands of fonts (assuming I have the font you request). :good:
Sorry I forgot to include a screenshot of the working font.
Is working fine, if you can add more fonts would be nice..
