I am currently trying to root my ZenFone 3 MAX ZC520TL by following the tutorial from XDA Forums.
But I have a problem. When I try to unlock the bootloader with the application provided by ASUS I have this error during the installation :

-I downloaded and tested the 9.1.0 version who is the latest version version of the ASUS Unlock Tool on ASUS Support website.
-I am using the ROM : WW-14.10.1803.101, ROM released on 16/03/2018
-I made a hard reset but it did not work.

Hello, I have the same zenfone and software, you may use App Cloner wich can be downloaded from google play however even though that, you install the unlock tool it will state that this model is not supported when you try to use the unlock tool, there are many arguments about this error starting from downgrading to very sofisticated programs to solve this problem. In which none of them actually solve the problems unless the people whe are sharing the source saying so. This is actually a very simple problem with certificates that can easily be solve by the company. If you search on the internet the only time that the clients getting this problem solved is MOSTLY through update. So yeah we gotta wait over months and just hope that Asus fix this bug in future update/ updates, and just as an advice don't waste your time by asking the Asus support team for help, they just get your serial number and tell you "our tech team already check it through asus server and your cellphone is unlocked" or something almost similar, even though your cellphone is not and there mutiple clients tell them is not but they just trust a simple server through internet connection. By the way I'll appreciate it if anyone found a manual solution. Keep me posted please.

Hi dude and all the people who have this problem,
I wanted to tell you that ASUS has released a new version of the UnlockTool on 28/06/2018 and can be installed without problems and you can find it on the ASUS official website :

New firmware will be posted on November 10 (for 3G) and November 12th (for standard TF101)
It will fix App Backup

where do you have downloaded the file feom Asus site?

What was wrong with backup? I'd thank them if they give us the ability to chose default search engine specifically (specifically means something else than just "google" for instance). And a reboot function!
I can't find the 8.6.6.19 firmware update anywhere !
Is someone having a download link for this firmware ?

I've just updated my TF101G B80 with 8.6.6.19 and new modem firmware.
All seems to be ok.

I've a friend bought K910 after my advice.
I was trying to update his software. I used TWRP batch file to install it. It rebooted the phone and bat command screen shows it's waiting for device. Now the phone is stucked on lenovo logo I cann't open system or recovery mode.
I need advices!!!!!!

You should report that on the correct thread
Either way, you should enter in download mode and use qpst to get it done. You're PC should recognize it as 9006 so you're able to go from 9th step forward witch is quite simple

Nah I've had enough of Meizu's arseholery. Unless it can be fully unlocked and gets enough custom dev support I ain't falling for their crap again. My PRO 5 could be such an amazing phone in the custom scene but we're only just now getting TWRP and there is still a long way to go.
The PRO 5 will be my 1st and probably last Meizu phone.

I interested in it because I'm tryed to find any way to change ID of device to global, but SP Flash Tool don't allow to flashing without .auth file.

Sorry but is useless, if you brick an Meizu device only customer service can reflash it and repair it.

you can flash with flash firen not matter it*s Chinese or global rom

Apparently this guy got a mail from the ASUS Tech Support. It's says the VOTLE for ZE551ML is in the works as opposed to being considered.

As the emails are received personally and no ASUS rep posted the same on the forums, the authenticity cannot be verified, but one could sure hope.
Hope so.
Lets hope that this information is genuine and official as when the beta testing of ZenFone 2 was going on, the moderator denied that R&D team has no such plans on this feature. Also other moderators also said so.
Lets see what will happen. Right now they haven't gave any update to ZE551ML since more than a month and we expecting VoLTE update. God knows what will happen. But anyway i love my ZenFone 2.
Still waiting. ASUS software support needs improvement.

according to above website zenfone 2 ze551ml is not listed to get the volte update. ze551ml used to be asus's flagship device and no update for it, really shameful ASUS.

if i am asking here is because i supposed to found expert people or at least someone with my doubts ..
anyway despite question appearing stupid , for who want help i put more details:
i have ZC520TL (ASUS_X008D) with WW_Phone-13.1.0.51-20170309 , as i can read should be a new version available, but automatic update is not working - so looking everywhere and especially in asus site, i have found some firmwares (compatible looking instructions)
i have tried to install (manually) following versions (in brackets result)
WW14.10.1708.58 (dead man android with red triangle)
UL-ASUS_X008_1-WW-13.1.0.56-user.zip (unknown error (3))
UL-ASUS_X008_1-WW-14.10.1707.46-user.zip (unknown error (3))
maybe someone else had same problem? or someone having already nougat 7 can share his-her firmware version number with me so i can try to install it?

for someone could be interested, i left this info before leave this forum
on 29/12 was released last version WW-14.10.1711.92 (i am using it now )
i made upgrade i had 13.1.0.51 , then manually ->WW-13.1.0.56 , then manually WW-14.10.1711.92 (nougat) and finally WW-14.10.1711.92 (last one was automatic)
if you have still a fw with marshmallow you can try to upgrade directly to WW-14.10.1711.92 , if will be an error ,don't worry, installation will be interrupted and phone rebooted without consequence - in that case you can update to WW-13.1.0.56 and then to WW-14.10.1711.92
