it seems that the vertical scroll of a lot of apps, including spotify and deezer, is very "sticky", it's not a smooth, continuous scroll like when in gv's settings or app screen... is this a common, well known issue with a lot of apps, or a lot of apps that run on gv, or do i have some settings configured wrong? any help would be appreciated!

After some hassles, finally I have a rooted NST, and figured out how to add apps using adb wireless. All works well, but I have two minor problems:
The first is I have much difficulty scrolling through my apps. When I try to scroll, usually the screen blurs and stays with showing the same apps. Sometimes when this happens, a duplicate image of an app on the app page appears on the you tube page.
Why is scrolling through apps so difficult - sometimes it's ok but usually it is not? What is the best method for scrolling right or left on the app page?
The second problem is that of duplicates of apps on my you tube screen after trying to scroll - I'd like to delete them from this screen and leave a pristine you tube page, or at least replace a few with selected apps - right now I have several duplicates of the market app on this page. How to do this?
You have to flick faster to change launcher screens. Flicking slightly only scrolls the screen to the right or the left.
Hold down the app icon and then select remove, or drag to move it to other launcher screens.
tehriddler,
Thanks. I'll use these techniques to work faster with the Nook.
Several apps periodically do s.th. in the background. I'm fine with that. But why are some apps not listed in the background tasks list under preferences - applications (or the advanced page)??
For example on my setup Facebook is missing there, although it does give me notifications and updates the live tile. Other background apps are not listed there as well.
I'd like to find out which apps are really working in the background sometimes. How can I?
Hi,
I'd like to limit number of apps displayed in "Recent Apps" menu. Why? There is a small lag while invoking recent apps menu with lots of apps there. There is even visible stutter in displaying recent apps glowing backrground animation. I don't think it's multitasking performance issue becasue phone is working fine besides this, e.g. when I was using alternative app switchers. The lag is probably connected to renderning all those thumbnails. At the moment I just remove apps from there manually but it's kind of annoying. Is there a way to limit recent apps list?
PS. I know that removing apps from recent apps list is not killing processes and I don't want to. I just want to limit of apps displayed there to avoid lag.
Wait for 4.4 (the real one, not the current fanmade versions) as this will have updated drivers that will enable multitexturing in the UI, that'll get rid of the occasional choppiness.
I don't think it's possible to limit the number of apps in the taskswitcher.
Is there some way to improve (enable?) better swipe scrolling in apps like BBC News (1.3.4) and the News/Weather app (Google?) that comes with rooting via NookManager?
I've tried both apps, in both portrait and landscape, and have one heck of a time getting anything like a scroll swipe to work. If I do manage to get almost one screen up (after removing many layers of screen molecules) then the next swipe often sends me back to the top of the page instead of further down!
If only scrolling could be ported to the hardware buttons as a general rule instead of only in a few isolated apps
So, has anyone found a solution for these two? I'm ready to ditch them.
[SOLVED] Whoa! So in playing around with these again I discovered that they have a counter-intuitive (to me) scroll behavior. The BBC app seems to require at least one upward swipe to move the page a little and then a tiny bar appears on the right edge of the screen which is like the vertical scroll bar on a desktop. This you must swipe DOWN over to continue moving the page up. The Google news/weather app is similar but there is no bar and you just go right to the upside down scroll swipe to get the page to scroll up. Who knew?
Hello forum,
Just got my s10 plus and it's been amazing. However, I can't ignore a problem I encountered with two apps I use daily. When I opened google photo and wechat, when they were NOT first opened, but by resuming from background, I noticed a quick screen brightness flickering, to a slightly dimmer brightness level. I'm not sure how to better describe this, but maybe it's like when opening the camera app, the screen turns brighter, but this time it goes a little bit dimmer when opening google photo and wechat.
So far, I've tested by using high performance mode and battery optimized mode (with google photo and wechat not optimized), I've tried with multiple launchers, including samsung's own one UI and nova launcher prime. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the apps, factory reset three times, played with screen brightness settings (different brightness levels), changed different themes, including samsung's default theme, default theme with dark mode, and the downloaded high contrast theme 1 & 2. None of them worked.
I've only experiencing this issue with those two specific apps, again, google photo and wechat. I haven't noticed this with other apps, like chrome, firefox. messenger, dialer, google drive, doc, extra. Please help! Thank you!
Edit: forgot to say, it's the canadian version with snapdragon qualcomm 855.
