to install
1) create folder dload on external sdcard
2) extract UPDATE.APP from zip file and place in dload folder.
3) Turn phone off
4) Hold down both volume buttons while pressing the power button

This is not the beta one right? (nfc and bl is working)?
This method is for locked bootloader, means flash without twrp

This is the beta, NFC is working for me as I was able to transfer pictures this way. BL ? bootloader?

I think he meant bluetooth. Is nfc and bluetooth working in the beta?

Sorry Bud I pulled that link right from the phone as it downloaded

Just an FYI for anyone trying to install this, on FRD-L04C567B162 I get an error "Software install failed! Incompatibility with current version".

NFC is working for me. Just made a purchase with Android Pay.

So is the update live for all beta testers? I sent my IMEI information over for the beta but never got a response back. (I had asked if we would be notified.)

i guess we need to upgrade to previous version than the updater can upgrade to latest software..in this case the firmware must be on FRD-L04C567B316 ver.. If we look into this there are 2 more upgrade able version for our device..but these are only my thought because when i had this device for 1st time its upgrade twice to FRD-L04C567B162 version..
So the upgrade process required previous ver. of software...
edit:nah, still failed...lol

Notification Icons
Is anyone else not able to show notification icons anymore in the Status Bar? All I see in settings is the option to show a number or show nothing at all...

I'm noticing on the beta that the camera now crashes 100% of the time, as does the Downloads app. Anyone else seeing this?

Camera app works fine for me. Downloads also opens without an issue. I took the OTA, and did a factory reset, though. I honestly haven't had any issues with it. Though I don't like the numbers notification thing. But other than that. everything else seems good on my end.

I'll be honest I wouldn't have minded the number if it wasn't on every single notification. Would have been perfectly fine if it showed the number cause you had more than 3 or 4 notifications.

No luck here. I'm getting the error "Software install failed! Incompatibility with current version".
I'm curious if this is because of the different SOC.
I can see on CPU-Z that my unit is Kirin 955. Perhaps this is the reason.

Flashed through twrp and lost bt and NFC....read it, tested it anyways, and broke it.....

It's been found that if you are on B162 you will get a "Software install failed! Incompatibility with current version" error. So, what firmware do you need to be on before going to the beta N 7.0? I am on B162, and have not unlocked bootloader, flashed twrp, or rooted yet.

I hope theres a fix for it. I read the the problem is with twrp that "it patches the files first then twrp removes it when it flashes the new system.img so therefor it's removed."

I didn't know there was an update to Android 7 - I'm still hoping (probably in vain) for this tablet to be rooted.

Changes are those in the changelog. I haven't noticed any issues so far but multi user support isnt't there and I was hoping yes.

Odd .. haven't gotten it .. and I check every couple of days ..

No, it's worldwide.
The official website have the link of the update, and you can apply it manually.

Hello, pls can anybody help? I bough z300m from second hand, turn on it (not try log in to google) and on startup screen (language select) system ask me for update to nougat, i click OK, system updated, tablet restarted and i cant log into tablet (FRP).
I search for bypass z300m on nougat, but cant find it.
This procedure dont work for me (android 7.0)
So i need flash from fastboot, but i cant find flashtool for z300m (p00c), firmware i downloaded from official page.
Any solutions?

Bad news I'm afraid. You need the original login details used to setup the device when it was originally purchased other than that it's a long winded battle with ASUS to prove you didn't steal the device.

After update the system reboots all the time when WiFi is ON.
If I turn OFF wifi - it works fine. No other solution...

There is a thread right after this listing when search for Z300M on XDA that claims TWRP and asus bootloader unlock tool (not necessary 2 get twrp) and was the reason I purchased this tablet. So far errors in everything in the OP with no responses and I hate to be paranoid but once I know, if not twice I have actuall run into "FAKE" threads on XDA in the 2-3 years being on here claiming root/twrp for a device with a small amount of chit chat, responses.... that was pure BS!
Anyhow, if you ever get root here is the fix for your multi-user issue, with es file explorer, or root explorer and editing the boot. file:
Enable Multi Window and Multi User Modes
If you have a rooted Marshmallow ROM (or Nougat), you can enable the 2 features above by editing the build.prop file found in /system/
For multi-window mode, change this entry in build.prop
ro.build.type=user
to -
ro.build.type=userdebug
To enable multi-user mode, add these 2 lines to the build.prop (anywhere, it doesn't matter)
fw.max_users=3
fw.show_multiuserui=1
Once you've made these changes, reboot the tablet.
To use multi-window mode, go to Settings, Developer options, and there will be a new menu item to switch this on or off.
To use multi-user, there will be a new option under Settings called Users.
If anyone seeing this has accomplished root on the Z300M 16GB wi-fi tablet, please let me know.....

ps of course, make sure you make a copy of the boot file to ext sd card or somewhere b4 just in case.... in the 15 times I have used this on 6.0, 7.0 lenovo & LG devices & 1 HTC... never had an issue BUT...

Actually all of the updates for the Z300M taking it to 7.0 are for the WW SKU (world wide) tablets, as well one for Japan and 1 other.........
any sign of root?
Asking around since purchasing this tablet due to thread on here claiming twrp but its falling on its face and no response as of yet.....

Thank you coolbeans2016, that's right the reason I am too desperately looking for a way to root: to apply that fix.
Btw, I really do not see the reason for Asus to disable a native function (multi-user) that is - to me - obvious for a tablet. (Maybe it eats resources? i.e. storage space)

Problem is the instructions for getting TWRP flashed or even just booted up on TWRP threaded for installation of SuperSU or Magisk is failing. I've been told I'm wrong and am just not reading or following the instructions correctly but on a VERY popular device there is NO ONE claiming $$PROFIT$$ on the thread! Even the ones claiming understanding of the thread are having complications but only have an average of 6 posts as jr users with no thanks feedback.... yet they have no questions regarding using the SP Flash Tool?!!!!! Strange to me!
I'm contacting the dev on the thread AGAIN to see if I can get a detailed set of instructions in JUST getting TWRP onto this tablet, or its useless to me......
He really thought I was calling his thread a false listing but straightened it out with him about the fact he references another such thread along the same lines for the Verizon Asus A380M, which EVERYONE knows has never been, probably never will be able to get a custome recovery, let alone root of any kind!!!!!!!!
Any info you come across, or if you have tried the thread I'm mentioning please let me know your errors encountered, any ideas how WE may be not taking the instructions correctly.

I used usb ethernet dongle on android 6 and it worked , it showed ethernet icon instead wifi. But when on android 7 the dongle does not work, seems usb host function is disabled, I dont want to root my tabled is there any way to enable usb host support ?

Hidden Csc Features on A520F[N] (FloatingMessages,RecordCalls,AppLock,SClean,etc.)

Ok, this is my first thread so i will try to make sens. First of all iam not a developer and i dont know anything about developing.
This is just enabling some features that were allready there in the phone throu some csc lines in feature.xml file that iv made
and some lines implemented in the stock floating_feature.xml file.
If you want go back to stock just delete the feature.xml file and the apps, then restart the phone.
And the floating features file is stock rom file and it only has few lines extra implemented. Never delete floating_features file from your phones etc folder and dont forget to give the right permissions, or your phone wont boot up.
Iv tested only on stock A520FXXU2BQIENougat which was only rooted and nothing else was modified.
With feature.xml you shoud get:

4.Data Usage View in QuickPanel
5.Data Usage Notification
6.Ultra Data Saving Mod (data compression works only with Opera Max)
7.Camera Shutter sound on/of in camera options.

13.Touch Sensitivity and UHQ Upscaler quick pannel toggels
14.S Bike Mod
15.Places option on keypad
16.Advanced WiFi Menu

18.VoLte quick pannel toggel (i dont think it works, you need more lines and files to work, and depends of your provider)

If you want keypad changed to ATT style and data indicator also ATT style just enter on the end of the feature.xml file this lines:

Download Samsung video from Galaxy apps.
3.Performance mod- check in Settings/Device manager
You can see all of this options in screenshots in attachment.
Extra feature in Build.Prop--MultiUser option--

This you will need to add manually if you want it or need it.
Add this lines in your Build.Prop
# Multiuser
fw.max_users=30
fw.show_multiuserui=1
fw.show_hidden_users=1
fw.power_user_switcher=1
INSTRUCTIONS:
1.You have to be rooted offcourse and have a file manager like RootExplorer or simillar.
2. Download the zip in the attachment(its not flashable) and open it.
Inside the zip you will see a csc,etc and priv-app folder.
3. Inside the csc is a feature file, just copy it in your csc folder on the phone, and give 0644 permission.
Do the same for the floating_feature, copy and overwrite the one in the etc folder and give 0644 permission.
Back up the original before you do that, just in case.
4.Restart the phone
5. Now copy all apps that are inside the priv-app folder to your priv-app folder in the phone. Give perrmission for folder 0755 and 0644 for files.
If you already have AppLock and UltraDataSaving in your
phones priv-app ( i did), then dont copy them.
6.Restart the phone
7. Install Opera Max from google play because Data compresson option in UltraDataSavingMod and Secure WiFi
will only work with Opera max on. (grant usage data access to opera max throu the app)
Thats it. You should see all the feauters unlocked!
(Just please dont forget to give exact perrmissions for every file that you copy on your phone.
Especially for feature.xml and floating.xml, because a lot of options wont appear then)
Optional step:

After you do all of the above there is still a chance that only UltraDataSavingMod wont be still appearing in connections/data usage.
If that happens you will need to delete UltraDataSavingMod folder from your priv-app folder in the phone, restart in recovery, wipe dalvik/cache, restart in system. Then you need to copy the UltraDataSavingMod folder back in priv-app again,and give the necessary permissions again. For folders 0755 and files 0644, then restart normaly and go check did the option appear in setting/connections/data usage.
I hope it works for you like it did for me.
And if it does work ,anybody can feel free to make a flashable zip, because i dont know how to, and il will
update the post and and put the link.

I dont own A7, but the procedure should be the same.
Like described in the post. The only thing i dont know is the
floating_message.xml in A7 the same like in A5.
Other people who tryed on A7 can comfirm it to you does it work.

Volte not working.

S Pen not in menu (a7 may be different)
Everything else works. Good features.

About volte you should search some threads
for other samsung phones, maybe you will find something that will help you.
Performance mode apears on A5 with floating_feature.
Like you said maybe some things are difrent in A5 and A7.
S pen in settings was allready inside when i bought the phone.

Do yiu own a A520F?
If you do, afrer you put floating_feature.xml and give permissions and restart you should see performnace mod in
device manager. Does samsung music edges blink after you play music in samsung music?
For UltraDataSavings follow the Optional step in OP.

You probably didnt gave permsions for floating_feature.
If thats the case, you can change permissions thro TWRP, so you dont need to restore or install new rom.

It happens.
I cant remmember how many times i had to install new rom because i did mistakes
From now on if you forget permissions you can allways change it thro TWRP.
Just follow the instructions in the OP s you should be OK.

Hi! I'm hoping someone could help me out with a few questions.
I have a OnePlus 3 (A3003) running FreedomOS-CE-2.17 on Android 7.1.1 and I would like to install this ROM but I'm not sure how to proceed. I see people talking about firmwares and whatnot and I'm not exactly sure what I'd be doing. Could someone hold my hand and walk me through it?
Also, does Magisk cloak work? I really need Android Pay and Snapchat to work. I'd rather not have root and have those apps work than have root and be without them.

No one can hold your hand man, in android/TWRP world you go and try things, as corny as it sounds. Thinking of a perfect scenario, and hoping nothing ever get's lost and everything always works means not trying anything new ever. Was this a lession on flashing roms, or life in general... not sure I've lost track lol.

I did that and it caused a few issues so I wouldn't recommend it. I had issues with a white horrible shadow on all the icons and also it lagged a bit in games.

I have a few issues with this build.
I take it there is no Dash Charge?
It lags a little but not really noticeable to cause an annoyance.
Google Pay wont pass the Safety Net check with Magisk 16.0.
Rounded corners no longer work where as they did before on the old build.
Scanner app does not work with loading the camera.
Yes I did a clean flash.
This is a great ROM but just needs a few things fixing.

For me ( OP3t) was all allright after a normal flash with TWRP. (blu_spark 6.8.1) I didn´t make a clean flash...

Anyone get AdAway to work? Installs but just doesn't load up.

Sir, I've downloaded this ROM. When I'm trying to install its getting error. I'm from LOS 15.1 ROM. Can i know the process how to install, which TWRP should I use and also need the link of Nougat firmware. Please some one help me sir.

Fair enough. Still don't know if I have to reflash firmware or what steps to take. Somewhere to point me in the right direction and I'll be fine. Just trying to do my due dillegence before making a stupid mistake for no good reason.

Other than SafetyNet being broken, ROM is pretty solid. The ROM is a little less fluid than Oreo ROMS but I am going to give this a shot for a while. Great work and looking forward to the next update.

Instructions :
First, backup your data to PC or laptop
Second, you HAVE TO wipe data,system,cache AND INTERNAL STORAGE (some reported that it didnt boot if no wipe internal storage)
Third, flash the ROM and No verity zip (In my case, I use v3, but it seems with no problem)
Now you can boot up your device, it'll boot up TWO TIMES, and this is normal
CAUTION !!!
Version1 already include Gapps,Magisk (16.7), firmware, gcam and Redflare kernel (1.13 build)
So it is unnecessary to flash other zips
But in Version2, it didn't have firmware, but with Magisk (17.1) and Redflare kernel (1.16 build)

First boot took about 1 min max. You have to be decrypted, flash rom, flash noverity (I flashed v3) - and you should be good.

Also, don't know if it matters, but I've searched for "swipe" in settings, and got in "Swipe fingerprints for notifications" menu, which is (weirldy) not available in "Gestures", there was no toggle there, tho, just instructions video. Maybe just entering that menu enabled that, try it out.

@Sabissimo did you update your firmware to 5.1.5 ? and have you installed vendor partition data ?

I was on OB15, so whatever firmware it uses - I have it And had vendor of OB15, but I don't think that vendor matters, since this is not treble rom, and doesn't use /vendor, it uses /system/vendor

Well... the dev said that the ROM doesnt have that function, but how can you enable ? I also follow your steps and give them permission then reboot again, but nothing happen.

Step-by-step of what I did:
1. Wiped everything except internal storage
2. Flashed ROM
3. Flashed no-verity v3
4. Rebooted, it rebooted twice, then started booting up with google animation
5. Noticed that fingerprint is working as cursor, went to settings, searched for "swipe", entered that menu, there's no toggle there
6. Pasted gf_input.kl in /system/usr/keylayout, gave it 755 permissions
7. Rebooted and everything is working!
Try doing it in the same sequence (First try to to enter swipe menu before pasting gf_input.kl, then paste it), maybe that did the trick.

Confirm this was the exact process I followed and works like a charm. Just need a couple of days with it to test battery life.

just have one thing to say thankyou so much and this rom is just smooth

For anyone that wants to flash this ROM, don't worry about your firmware. This ROM's .zip file contains a firmware ALREADY so it will flash the necessary firmware itself!

where is this gf_input.kl?? why should i do this for the pill gestures?
