Hi, I've been a user of my Honor 8 lite since Christmas last year, and, being the techsavvy type, I wanted to root it. So, I went into my device details and searched for the device model, coming up with the string PRA-LX1. I searched on Google for a rooting method, using this string I found, and it came up with rooting methods for the Huawei P8 lite, rather than the Honor 8 lite. I do know that they are literally the same phone, just with different brandings, however, I'm VERY sure that all other Honor 8 lites online haven't had the same model string as my phone has. I'd like an explanation for this, and also I'd like to know which rooting tutorials I should use, and so on.

Alright, thanks, but in that case, is it fine to just use any methods referring to my model, or ones referring to my device name? Don't wanna go bricking my device so early in its life cycle.

If there's method for your device name ,then go for it. But it don't think there s difference between methods

Just remember NOT TO CHANGE REGION AND FLASH PRA-AL00/PRA-TL10 firmware to your PRA-LX1 phone, in some cases it will bricked.
There is no free solution for reviving Honor device from bricked, yet.
Just be careful and make sure to use firmware for your device own model only.

Hello,
I just bought a HUAWEI G9 Youth - VNS-AL00, which is the chinese version of the P9 Lite because it was cheaper, I installed the phone choosing english language but there is still some configurations in chinese, more over some chineses applications are installed by default and I can't delete them..
So my question is ; do you know if there is a version of the firmware in European or US ?
I searched on consumer.huawei.com but in European countries we just have access to the P9 lite categories...
Also the best would be on EMUI 5.0 with android 7.0 but I think I am dreaming
Thanks and Best regards,
Max

To my understanding, P9 Lite is using Kirin 650 while G9 Youth VNS-AL00 is using SD 617....I doubt if you can flash any P9 Lite ROM on your G9 Youth.
By the way, EMUI 5 with Android 7 could still be a dream comes true....stay positive

Hello @ykkhern thank you for your feedback, I agree with you I don't think I can flash it using a p9 lite rom because of the diffrent CPU
What if I have the same exact CPU as the P9 VNS-L23
What if I have the same exact CPU as the P9 VNS-L23. In fact all my specs are identical, though only two differences are that my G9 does not have a removal battery and it has gyroscope whilst L23 can remove battery and has no gyroscope. So how would I go about changing the software? I tried firmware finder. No luck, and the other thing is it wont read SD cards. Whilst the same SD card can be read in a samsung and my P9 L23...
I bought the Dl00 for my wife, actually I bought another L23, but this chopstick sent me the G9 instead.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,

Good morning,
I have a Huawei p10 lite (WAS-LX1A) bought in Portugal. It is locked to my carrier (Vodafone).
My current model number is WAS-LX1AC02B139, and i know that the model number of this phone when unlocked is WAS-LX1AC432B...
I saw some videos in youtube and i noticed that there is android 8.0 beta version for this phone. But when i install Huawei beta app and i search for new projects, the app says that there are no project available. I tried to install firmware finder and I added the version WAS-LX1AC432 and it says that the software is not approved to my phone.
I am thinking that if i unlock my phone from my carrier, the software will be aproved and i will be able to install android 8.0.
Is my idea correct? Should i unlock my phone to be able to have WAS-LX1AC432B... and then install android 8.0.
If i am correct how do i do that? Should i just put the ''normal'' version of huawei p10 lite and it will work or should i do something else?
if my ideia is incorrect please tell me a solution.
Thank you
You must rebrand your phone to C432

Hi guys,
A colleague asked me to help me setup his new phone and I noticed that he has the Mainmang 6. As far as I know is the chinese version of P10 lite.
I don't have time to search every topic in this forum, so I ask for your help.
Is it possible to flash a global rom on this phone and where should I start?
I just need google services and play store.
On the screenshot you can see the model and the rom installed on phone right now. There is also an update to oreo but I will wait for your replies before install the update.
Thnaks

First of all I am almost sure that MAIMANG 6 is the equivalent to mate 10 lite and not Huawei p10 lite. (Because Huawei mate 10 lite have the model number RNE-....) And the Huawei p10 lite have WAS-...)
Also you are write that is a Chinese version because it says AL00 so it's Chinese.
Maybe you should be in the forum of Huawei mate 10 lite and not Huawei p10 lite.
But the basics are:
Unlock bootloader. Install TWRP. Change region.
------or-----
Unlock bootloader. Install TWRP and then custom ROM
Don't know if that matters to you but you can't install an Google play apk from your current browser. Then you can install all your applications.
If you only want Google play this might help.
Hope I helped you.
That's why I didn't find anything about RNE, I am on the wrong sub forum.
Thanks I take a look there...
Hi all, sorry for making a new thread here about p9 lite 2017,but i don't know where to make. If someone can help me with a Stock Firmware and Recovery like in the title for a P9 Lite 2017. Also, if i need to flash the p8 lite 2017 firmware, how do i rebrand it for the right version. Thank you very much and sorry for making the thread here.
Hi, I think this stock recovery might help you out. Took me a few random YouTube videos to find over today, although it fixed my phone.
I found that the recovery was perfect and downloaded the correct firmware for my device itself without changing anything, it just did it over my WiFi.
Find it here
Don't blame me for damages since I don't know the most about all this, but for reference my model is PRA-LX1C432B202.
It's dual SIM and Kirin 655. Not sure if any of that matters, but it all worked okay for me. Good luck

Hey, my device is too PRA-LX1C432B203 i think, but when i flashed the P8 Lite 2017 firmware (because i couldn't find anything for P9 Lite 2017 on XDA),it shows me that i got the NRDM Test Keys and it thinks that i have a P8 lite 2017 than a P9 Lite 2017. I just need the correct info to display because i have a problem with display and i need to send it to guarantee.
