I bought cracked essential phone on ebay and replace screen today(aliexpess part is wondeful!!!)
But realize this phone is bad esn & locked by FRP.
Actually bad esn is not important for me cuz I am staying outside of US, but FRP lock is serious problem
I read the thread about essential phone bypass but It is not possible to use that method cuz my phone is not bootloader unlocked.
I also try to bypass by refering* google pixel method one, but not possible as well(bypass app is 'corrupted'. Can install but cant launch)
I search on google for more than 5days and now exhasted T T.
Is there anyone did bypass FRP on same situation with me?
1. Now I can access to Setting and apex launcher main page. But cant activate USB debugging.
2. can use OTG.
3. Version is 7.1.1

Hello I bought my verizon galaxy s5 yesterday on craigslist knowing verizon phones now come factory unlocked and intended to use it with my T-mobile sim. When I tested the phone everything worked fine but later on when I got home I decided to factory reset it to clean it up and now I am stuck with a "reactivation locked" window asking me for the owners samsung id, I then tried contacting the seller and now he wont respond so I am stuck with it. I have now made research and know that its a security new method on verizon phones. Is there a way to fix/disable this? any input will be greatly appreciated, thanks.
verizon phones now come factory unlocked??
This is news to me.
Kies or Odin might allow you to install a new image.

This has been the case with 4G phones. It is sim unlocked, as in you can use other carrier's sim cards, not with an unlocked bootloader in case that is what you were thinking.

You will have to get it from the seller.
It likely wasn't done maliciously nor may they remember even setting it.
IIRC when setting up the phone it is an option that you can enable. Chances are it may be a password they use for many things and my not want to divulge it?
Unfortunately you will have to get ahold of them as only they know the password.
The only other thing I can think of is flashing the ODIN tar. Not sure that this will reset it anyways as when you enable this option there is a message saying that Reactivation lock must be disabled before sending your phone in for service.
9/10 guy probly screwed u for a claim because that feature would have to been activated it wont activate on a reset as it would have asked for password prior to reset and the fact that its asking for the Samsung id is evidence to the fact

I found a way to access the devices of my sm-g900v with the build OE1 with this problem. So the bug i found is not complete but, i know that someone could do something with this info. All you need is blue-tooth headset mines are the lg HBS750. First you have to call 911. turn the bluettooth on and Quickly disconnect the call... you should be on the searching for devices.. At this point you connect you headsets and connect to wifi.. and press the speak/call button on the headset. S-voice should pop-up and ask you to connect to wifi (if you didnt follow my directions) if you did, you should be able to open settings are any stock app... i tired to disable from the settings but, it keep re-checking itself. Maybe someone could find out use this access to disable the reactivation lock.
have you find any solution to the reactivation lock?

if you find anything that WORKS, plz can you post it here, i have the same problem, I bought a G900V, later upgrade to PD1 android 6.0.1 and find the surprise
I've got some phones with a reactivation lock as well. I'll look into above. Any chance you could bring up adb? If so I can give you the adb input commands to force a hard reset via a bug, it may work and bypass reactivation lock as it is a full wipe, but no promises. Otherwise I have a theory for disabling it via a script that can be pushed via adb and executed. I need to see if I have time, cause it needs to be done
Thanks for getting me that far!!!

I have an s5 on bok3 firmware right now with a samsung reactivation lock lockout without root or unlocked bootloader and no custom recovery
i first went back to bok3 firmware then used the otg usb/cable bug to access the file manager i've also gotten into play store settings phone and couple other things but also i force closed a bunch of apps and then backed into the setup wizard and got phone activating as if it was a new device but alas it failed as i had disabled and/or forced close activation agent. I haven't been able to recreate since. ps you can access lock screen by going to android device manager on the web and using the lock feature to change the lockscreen password. I also discovered samsung account is the issue app for reactivation lock as when i force closed and disabled it setting menu crashes instead of does nothing when you try to do a factory reset in setting or add a samsung account to your device.
perhaps we can install a custom version of the s5 samsung account app to our device i dont have the skills to change it but you might. Just a thought
Reactivtion lock is off!!!!!!!!!!
I booted NCG on PB1 Bootloader
is a new thread on s5 verizon general on xda
im testing it to see if reactivation lock can be circumvented this way will tell you either way as soon as i can
IT IS CONFIRMED WORKING AND REACTIVATION LOCK IS OFF

I bought a used zenfone 5Q off of ebay and it had a screen lock password protection on it. I used fastboot and I think what I did was try to rewrite the recovery image. I now have the dreaded FRP lock problem (sign in with previous google account). I cannot figure out how to fix or bypass the FRP lock. The only thing I've come up with is try to use TWRP to backup from a 2nd good 5Q phone I have and restore it to the bad bricked phone but since I cannot access the settings I cannot even enable USB debugging to try to unlock the bootloader. I've been trying for days to figure out how to fix this FRP lock, can anyone please help me?

With frp enabled, your not going to be able to use fastboot or recovery. Contact the seller of the device. I'm sure there's a frp bypass method, but I doubt you will find one posted.
Where did you find twrp for this device?

no the seller posted that it has a password lock and it's for parts. well I thought doing a hard reset would fix that but turned out it was harder than I thought, recovery mode didn't even work. I actually did send command to it using usb to update the firmware and I think what I did was rewrote the recovery image, but I'm not sure. I was able to get teh phone to the let's get started part but than it asks for the previous google account. there is not 1 single frp bypass for this phone yet and every method of trying to get out of the lets get started page is useless. there's tons of 5q twrp tutorials out there, it wont let me post the link but the best one i saw was from getdroidtips

If I had a spare device I would try to assist you with the frp bypass, but my 5q is my only phone. I'm going to lean towards the phone was stolen if the seller doesn't know the Google account info. If you have an otg maybe give that a try. Many of the old frp bypass methods have been patched, so most of my old methods probably won't work. There are eBay services that attempt to do it for a fee, but I personally would not trust them.

the only ebay frp services I saw were for samsung, I don't think I saw many asus frp services. yeah like you said I have only seen tutorials for up to the zenfone 3 or 4. and none seemed to work, everything seems patched. when I google 5q frp, the first hit is this thread, lol. hopefully in the future someone can find a way. I have a fully working 5Q, I was just thinking hey wow a 5Q for $120, I could fix it, but no

yes you can. I was able to update the firmware with adb to the locked 5q, but instead what that did was remove the pin lock screen however the "welcome please set up phone " came up and then it said log in with previous google account. this is an frp lock, don't think adb can do anything, that I know of

doesn't custom rom require usb debugging enabled? How can I enable it if I cannot access settings? I think I did try to reboot bootloader, I could be wrong, but I don't think that worked. frp lock isn't a joke, it is a b$tch to bypass unless someone else has fixed it
just an update: found asus support online and they said it's under warranty (through imei number lookup) through sometime in 2019, gave me an rma and an address to send it back. Just sent it. included ebay receipts, not sure if that helps at all or just confuses them. so best bet to get this fixed is either 1) do not buy any phones that have FRP lock on them or any kind of a pin number lock. return back to ebay if you were mislead or just don't be tempted because of the low price like me thinking it will be easy to fix by resetting it, doesn't work. or 2) asus support and they will lookup your warranty coverage. fingers crossed. I asked them if they'll just give me a refurb, the rep said no they'll fix it so there is a chance they can't do anything, but they did make the phone, hopefully they have software that can truly reset those phones and wipe off the FRP. everyone including best buy cell reps and even asus customer support have no clue what I'm talking about when I mention factory reset protection lock, they can't even repeat back what I just called it. will update if this works. if your phone is out of warranty ask if you can pay to have it fixed, assuming mine returns back actually fixed, will update again hopefully
SOLVED! after I did a chat with asus phone support they gave me the RMA number. I had to pay shipping, used usps priority (they give you 30 days I think for the RMA). anyways they spent literally 2 days after they got my zenfone 5Q and fixed it!. the papers for the work says "problem /symptom : OS hang up" "action: reinstall HDI image (PC) / FOTA (phone/pad) to solve the problem. you do not send in the charger or anything, just the phone, do not send any case or protectors with it. In my case it was still under warranty since this is a new phone. talk to asus support under the section phones (not computers, laptops, etc) tell them the problem (google factory reset protection, cannot set up phone because it asks for a email and password which you do not have and that you purchased it like that, cannot set up phone to use it, etc). they will ask imei and check your warranty. if your phone is out of warranty beg them if you can PAY to have it fixed, THEY KNOW HOW TO FIX IT!!! my phone is working RIGHT NOW!!! it is 7.1.1 android and everything seems to be working!! next time NEVER buy a phone with a pin lock or any lock on it. make sure the seller unlocks it and removes their google account!! I never tried contacting google if they can remove, maybe they can but their FAQ on frp lock says if you cannot remember the info than you are out of luck!, good luck!, never buy a phone with a password lock on it! no matter how cheap it was to buy it
Coming from GNote 3, totally new to LG devices.
Locked Verizon G6 V988T has Google FRP lock, trying to remove it.
After going through frp unlock process and getting to file manager, bringing up settings I am getting a reduced version of settings. Options are wifi and data only; and if you click more there's only bluetooth and hotspot. And that's it. So I have no way of enabling install from unknown sources, so that I can install slide.
When I use the other method where in chrome you search for a business number, hit call and it brings up the dial pad so that you can dial service menu, there's no response. Even dialing imei does not bring the imei ID number. Seems this is disabled too.
I have no idea what software version is installed currently but it seems those two options/routes have been disabled/blocked. So my thinking is to downgrade to 7.0, follow the FRP unlocking procedure. Then install TWRP, root it.
I cannot properly ID the correct older kdz file for this phone.
1-Can you guys confirm if my steps are the way to go in order to be able to unlock frp, and,
2-a link to the correct kdz version for this phone?
Took a while/couple of tries but mission accomplished.
Hey guys
Im in a bit of a trouble.
Sitting in front of my dads phone trying to unlock it.
Cant ask my dad anymore. He died few days ago. To get access to his password safe i really need to unlock the phone. He stored all of his onlinebanking accounts, insurance data and stuff there. Need to pays all his debts but i have no clue about what to pay and what is paid.
Already found his secret note about the master password of keepass but not the unlock pattern.
Factory reset is of course not an option.
Any chance that i can skip the pattern and unlock it with the PIN?
Its also still connected to his google account if this would help.
Bootloader locked, no root, no twrp.
Found a thread from 2013 that says i can boot to twrp without flashing to delete the pin data but im not sure if it works on this one.
Can you access your dad Google account from a computer? if so, you can use Google Device Manager to remove the PIN/password of the device, but I'm not sure if doing this will erase the data. Also, you should contact Google for a solution, considering that isn't unauthorized access, and have a good reason behind. There is a form to contact them. Sorry for your loss.
Hi,
Thank you for your condolences.
I tried to lock the phone but it wont let me change the password.
There is a message. You already have a screenlock on the phone so it wont be changed.
The link you gave me also only let me get access to the account but not the phone.
Any other ideas how to get access?
Okay, so i'm out of the XDA world for a couple years, technology probably changed a lot, so no blaming for being noob etc.
So, i lost my phone on 25.12.2020, FindMyDevice and FindMyMobile are completely useless, all their functions are unusable for some reason.
I started panicking really, so i checked on some videos online if people can bypass the password and use the phone somehow. Surprise, it is easy AS FVCK! All they did was go in recovery and just factory reset it. On top, 3rd day i changed my Google password (which i will never regret in my life), so probably the phone is out of my Google account as well.
So my last hope is that i remember i was trying to root my phone and i couldn't. It was from Verizon. Unrootable. It was some bootloader v4 or some ****. Not really sure.
TLDR, Unrootable S10+ with unlockable bootloader, is it able to factory reset? Wipe it out and bypass the password?
It is always possible to boot to recovery mode and erase the device there. However, deleting the entire storage does not mean that the device is usable after that. When a device is not 'officially' wiped; it is mandatory to log in with the last google account that was on the device. It does not matter that you have changed your Google password. This securityfeature is called frp lock. Unfortunately, frp can also be circumvented when a device is rooted. But in order to be able to root, the bootloader must be unlocked and that is only possible if the device is unlocked. Your device cannot be used by others. But as you mentioned before, FindMyDevice did not work on your device so this lock is of no use to you. The only thing you can do is register the imei number as stolen and then wait for the device to be sold and checked.

Sorry for my bad English.
Mate thanks a lot for your answer, you really helped a lot! Im glad those busters wont be able to use my phone now!
