Bootloader unlocked, Rom istalled but no root - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

Ok, I've unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP, flashed modem, Universal Bootloader and flashedf a ROM.Only the I remembered that I didn't have Root!
So I flashed UPDATE-SUPERSU-V2.79-20161211114519 from here, but Roorchecker still says no root.
Then I first flashed "no-verity-opt-encrypt-5.1" and then SuperSU 2.79 from here still no root!!!
Don't know what to do! TWRP doesn't give any error message, though it says "Unable to mount storage". I also can't access my internal storage in TWRP. What to do?
EDIT: Ok, so I've solves the Mount problem, by Format Data, but I still can't root!!

I would download SuperSu from here: https://download.chainfire.eu/696/supersu
And if you want Magisk, which I prefer, get it from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445/amp/

That SU doesn't work unfortunately. TWRP gets stuck during install when mounting root.
EDIT: It worked with Magisk, thank you!

Installing Xposed - Stuck at installing TWRP

Hello. I am trying to install TWRP on my S7 Edge, because I want the Xposed Framework. I have the Exynos version.
I am trying to follow this short guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66277202&postcount=28
I am rooted, I have all the zip files, and I have TWRP Manager installed. However, when I go to try and install it, it says:
"Something is wrong
Flashing recovery was unsuccessful. Either you already have this recovery installed or another error has occurred. Would you like to attempt rebooting to recovery now?"
If I select OK, I get into the TWRP Recovery, but I am unable to mount /data so I can take a backup.
Is this because of Android 6, that the device is encrypted and it won't mount /data?
I have read places that I need to flash a new kernel and format my user data, but if I have to take it that far, I don't really want to do it.
Please let me know your thoughts on this.
Thanks!

Accidentally wiped data, need to RE-Root?

Hi. So, I had TWRP on stock rom and my phone was rooted. was messing around trying to install viper4android and i think i clicked wipe data, etc in recovery mode. Phone rebooted and im un-rooted now with SuperSU installed but it says "there is no binary SU installed and superSU cannot install it. This is a problem! "
What do I do now? I can still boot into recovery.
If I have to flash to a stock firmware, is that easy to do? Thanks in advance

1. Flash Rom You Want To use in your Device .
2.Download Supersu Binary Zip File from Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053
3.Flash it through TWRP recovery
4.Now reboot your cell phone and install SuperSU.

S-Off, unlocked, TWRP installed, unable to mount system [solved]

I've tried to find this answer everywhere I could, but I have just unlocked the bootloader, S-off'd, and installed TWRP from Captain_Throwback. I also upgraded the firmware to the latest in OMJ's thread and upon booting into TWRP (I'm using 3.1.1-0), I'm unable to mount /system. Therefore I am running stock with SuperSU flashed on top, so I'm wondering if there was a specific TWRP version that I should be using and if so, which one? Also, everytime I enter TWRP, it asks for the decryption key, so I enter my code and then /data is mounted.
I guess coming from the M9 to the HTC 10, I figured it would be just as easy as the M9 was to unlock and root, boy was I wrong haha.
I thought I read that I should just RUU and return to 100% stock and then do the entire process again, which I don't mind doing, I am just unsure if I did the wrong order of operations, in regards to unlocking bootloader and S-off.
I looked at the thread for recovery by Captain_throwback and I saw that he stated I could mount /system R-W through the ROM mount command, but I'd like to not do this temporary fix.
I appreciate any and all help!
UPDATE: So I guess the correct order to flash LeeDroid's for me was: (I'm assuming this is more or less the correct order)
Flash firmware (sd card)
Flash modified firmware
flash twrp-unofficial
Boot into stock
Update Profile & PRL
Reboot into Recovery - CANCEL Encryption
Wipe-Format Data- "yes"
Install ROM

Stuck in recovery

So i probably did something stupid.
I wanted to root my oneplus 5, so i updated it to last oxygenos 5.0.1 and copied all necessary stuff to pc.
After that unlocked the bootloader, got the phone to fastboot and flashed twrp 3.2.1-0.
Somewhy i couldn't access internal storage from twrp, it said its 0 mb and sdcard folder was empty, however i put magisk 15.3 there before, so i googled for a while and found that it probably couldn't mount storage. so this is where i probably did stupid thing by formating and fully wiping the phone. after that i could mount the storage, but the files were gone so i just put them there again. After that installed magisk and booted to system only to find myself in recovery again. So i though that i completely wiped the phone with the rom, so i downloaded the latest oxygenos and put it on the phone to install from twrp but it just doesnt install. returns error 7, which is, as google says, has somehting to do with asserts, it suggested to remove them form updater-script file, but opening it doesnt show any asserts in it. So here i am with phone with twrp and no rom at all. What do i do? Please help
tl;dr: I have OnePlus 5 with twrp 3.2.1-0 after complete wipe, and it cant install oxygenos because of error 7
Edit: only after posting noticed that there's a help thread, sorry for that. problem is not fixed though
Try a different TWRP.
update
thanks for suggesting different recovery. first tried older versions of twrp with no success, then tried twrp blu spark and it got a different error, something to do with unlocked bootloader. so i edited updater-script file and it installed normally. so i now have a clean oneplus 5 with oxygenos 5.0.1
will try to install magisk again, hopefully wont wipe everything again
update
yeah, everything worked. installed magisk and got root. but it always says 'install' inside magisk manager, is this normal?
saw that it should say 're-instal' in yt videos
It's normal.
Magisk updates regularly, those YouTube videos don't get updated.
I bumped into the same problem as mentioned by hyro28..
Please explain how to "update updater-script file " -- where is the file found, how to update it? I am new to this, would appreciate detailed instructions -- links, written instructions, videos, etc Thanks!

Rooting failed

Hey, after 3 hours of trying on my own I definitly need help now:
I followed Funk Wizards guide to unlock Bootloader and install recovery and root. My guess is that something went wrong during the twrp installation.
As I wanted to do a backup of nandroid there've been some errors (digest). So I followed some other guides. In the end nothing worked, after installtion of su my device was not rooted (terminal did not work, root checker notified me). Also my TWRP installation seems to be corrupted, as there's always the question at the beginning "Keep System Read only?", althought I ticked never show again.
- I tried to uninstall su (with "unSU-signed") and install it again
- Magisk throws an error (error 1) at installation and does not install at all
- after restarting phone twrp also shows the internal storage as 0mb (I changed the datasystem from ext4 to 3 and back again to gain access again)
- Working on win10, installed su-v2.82, twrp 3.1.1-1, coming from stock
Hope someone can help. May I can redo everything I did, reinstall twrp and root again.
Cheers
