Converting SM-N900V to International model - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm helping a friend of mine converting a Verizon Note 3 to an international version like n9005.
Since he uses the phone everyday I barely have any time with the phone to test things.
So far I managed to unlock the bootloader, but flashing other firmwares with odin end on a secure check fail (aboot).
Is there a right way to do this? Is it even possible?

There is no way to fully convert the Verizon Note 3 to the n9005. Odin will allow flashing a non-Verizon stock ROM to the Verizon note 3.

Thanks for the answer. I'm just looking to flash with Odin a non-verizon stock rom.
Just to get rid of the VZN stuff (and maybe flashing a ROM later).
So technically it's possible to flash a non-verizon stock rom to this phone?
I've tried and got the "Secure check fail: aboot" stuff.
Is there a way to bypass that error and safely flash a non VZN stock?
Thanks again!

Sorry, I meant it say Odin will not allow you to flash non-verizon stock ROM to the verizon note 3.
I recommend rooting the stock ROM and use Titanium backup to freeze or remove apps.

quastion about international ROM's and G 1337

Dear all
i'm not expert in AT&T stuff because i'm using the international version of the galaxy s4 , but my friend asked me to Flash the international
ROM his his G 1337 , i thought this will not possible and wouldn't try until i ask the experts here
he wants the international because its with out all the stuff that AT&t put into the phone "all software bloatware"
so what is the best scenario :
1. flashing international ROM
2. flashing custom ROM, " AT&t stuff free"
3. rooting the device and uninstall or Freeze the AT&t software "that he dose not even use any"
Thank you all

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2616221 -- has a huge list of ROMs (including international) that can be flashed on I337.
depending on his build will dictate exactly how to proceed
if mdl he doesn't need safestrap, but may need to flash his carriers kernel and the loki exploit
if higher than mdl there are different scenarios on how to proceed depending on the build. it is still all there in the link. but determine build first.
and if above mdl get familiar with hashcodes safestrap in dev section :good:

No, you can't flash a N900A rom on a N900P! You'll brick your phone.

It's a Frankenstein. An AT&T I337 with the IMEI of an I9505. Someone changed the IMEI before selling it, likely because the original IMEI was blacklisted.
its basically a korean convert your phone might be i337 but the best way is to go to download mode and check it there. model number on download mode is always real.

I checked in dwld mode its sgh i337....can I install back stock firmware ...see this sitehttp://www.att.com/esupport/softwareUpdateArticle.jsp?sid=KB419415&cv=820
If it's an AT&T device then you can install an AT&T ROM on it. However, doing so nets you a locked bootloader for your trouble. Install a custom ROM if you can, and don't look back.

of course you can install official sgh i337 firmware. just find official firmware from sam mobile or samsung updates and download them to your phone via odin. it will fresh start your phone on atnt official firmware but i suggest you to do some research over it before attempting any thing. in your case i see that your phone came with pre rooted firmware to change build.prop to make it look like 9505. i am in pakistan and this is very common here i was fooled for 9500 but it was sph l720 sprint model. best of luck with your update

you mean that I should keep using custom roms and no matter whether baseband is of i337 ....If I want to download a 5.0.1 then I will download any rom and flash through odin using pda file just....it will not chnge my baseband..
Finally I got it....its i337...I checked imei on imei.info it says it is i337 and also checked for blacklist its all clean....and I opened back cover and see it and its written "MADE BY SAMAUNG" ...spelling of samsung is wrong ...it means sticker and software are of 9505 and hardware are i337 at & t usa carrier....I think its changed in korea...phone is converted....now planning to download stock firmware of i337 lollipop and install through odin....
if anyone have link to i337 lolipop plz share
If you install a stock ROM via Odin, the bootloader will be changed, but as long as it's not an AT&T or Verizon ROM you won't suffer any ill effects. If you install an AT&T ROM there's no going back. Unlike every other country on the planet, here in the US AT&T and Verizon encrypt the device's bootloader, because they don't want you rooting the device and bypassing their bloatware and their restrictions. So, since you happen to be in a position where you have an AT&T S4 that doesn't have a locked bootloader, you want to install a custom ROM.
If you have ignored my advice and installed a stock AT&T ROM, you'll need to head over to http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att and use the information there to root. Honestly, now that you know your S4 is an AT&T model, you should head over there anyway.

..i installed stock 4.4.4 ATT software but i want to install back i9505 software becoz att is not running well in my country...it lags in sending msgs and making calls and also hotspot nd other probs....can u guide me to get back 9505 software
I tried warning you but you plowed ahead anyway. The stock ROM you put on the phone is basically untouchable, because of the locked bootloader, so you now have two options: use the phone as is, or use the information in the AT&T S4 forums to install SafeStrap recovery and from there flash a custom ROM.

Hmm yeah but i think it will work fine ...only problem is of signal network....can you guide me how to flash 9505 modem on i337 ?
No, because it won't work. I tried flashing an AT&T modem to my I9505 when trying to add LTE frequencies to my device. The phone rejected the modem, but it didn't harm my I9505 either.

But previously i am running baseband of 9505 on i337
It could be because I didn't use Odin when trying to flash in that instance. Under ordinary circumstances you shouldn't be able to flash I9505 firmware on an I337. Regardless, you can try to flash the I9505 modem using Odin, but the results at best will be unpredictable. It certainly won't change the LTE bands on the phone as those can apparently only be changed with tools we don't have.

Install Stock T-Mob firmware on SM-G900V

I was given a branded Verizon Samsung Galaxy S-5 running Android 6.0.1
The Config Version is J13SAMSMG900V.1
Build Number is MMB29M.G900VVRU2DPF4
Kernal Version is 3.4.0 [email protected] #1
Baseband Version is G900VVRU2DPF4
I want to replace the Verizon build with a T-Mob, with all the functionality. Is this possible?
Will T-Mob look at it as a T-Mob branded phone (receiving updates and such)?
Will the Play Store work properly with the updates?
Will Android Pay work (or other NFC oriented pay apps)?
I am new to trying this, so the simpler the better.
Thanks.
It is possible to have a t-mobile system Img installed all this does is allow you to flash a g900t aosp based rom onto your device doing this is extremely buggy no data calling or texting is the common result of doing this
as for an Ota update it would more than likely hardbrick your device if you had a g900t system Img installed on a g900v
but to answer your question no it is not possible bootloaders are g900v still so you cant get g900t firmwares installed and if you try to change your bootloaders you will hardbrick permanently with no way to recover
It is not worth it a few people claim to have changed a g900v into a g900t but they don't provide a guide or files so they are lying
Don't believe them
I tried changing a g900v into a g900t and made a rookie mistake I was partially sucessfull one or 2 boot loaders changed but not all 3 trying to unlock a g900t bootloader with a g900v method and got a hardbrick waiting for a debrick img to be made
If I get it debricked I will try a g900f conversion instead of a g900t conversion
Sent from my iPhone 4s using Tapatalk I also own a g900v
I have the same hardware he does.

Identical to jrhack. I already had a T-Mobile account, and don't want a Vz, but I overlooked learning that it was a Vz phone when I agreed to buy it. At this time it still has the Vz firmware, software, apps. I would like to debloat it and root it.
So far, on the T-Mobile network, it works fine, except at times sending an MMS will fail, but not always.
I would appreciate your recommendations. There is no warranty or service provider involved here. Just me and the phone.
Thanks in advance.
To get root downgrade to lolipop ok3 or pb1 firmwares and use Jr Kruse ok3 root method on xda under s5 Verizon section and then debloat stock firmware and a good close to stock rooted debloated rom is jrkruses PB1 deodexed rooted deknoxed debloated rom

I have a verizon s5 with a cid15 so i can unlock the bootloader.. My thing is. Is there any possibilities of changing the baseband to any other baseband and ultimately getting that over to the tmobile baseband? Kindof like on the S7 edge where you can flash the U firmware and change the baseband.. Would we have any luck on anything with this phone ultimately being able to change that phone over completely? Just wishful thinking on my part.. hah

Is my Note 4 SM-n910v or n910f

Hello. I recently bought the Note 4 device from a phone store. I made all necessary checks and discovered it's a real Note 4, however, on getting home I decided to do further checks and downloaded the Samsung info app.
Then I noticed some inconsistencies. Whilst in about phone, it is written that the phone is the n910f model, the Samsung info app states that it is n910v and even the refurbishment check says it is a refurbished phone.
I want to upgrade this phone to marshmallow and possibly install custom rooms, I am however confused on whether to download the n910f marshmallow room or n910v. Please help

Yes there are dozens of roms available but you have to unlock bootloader+Twrp recovery+root to have in order to flash any roms.
If you have patience and knowledge in samsung phones you can do it otherwise i suggest use the way you bought or just flash stock N910V marshmallow firmware via odin
You can download stock from www.sammobiles.com/firmwares.
Or if you succeed to unlocking bootloader you can go for custom roms

I had a question.
Do I have to flash TWRP for the Verizon version or the other? Cause my Bootloader says it's SM-N910V.
Thanks!
