I keep receiving vibrations for incoming email notifications with Nine email. From the information i've gathered, if the phone is in vibrate mode then all notifications cause a vibration as well.
Vibration is disabled in the app and i know its not the apps fault because it works fine on my Pixel XL.
How do you guys get around this? I dont want all notifications causing a vibration when in vibrate mode especially if its set to not vibrate in the app settings.

I have tried to set my notification on my K-Jam to vibrate only for emails and alarms, however when in standby mode it won't vibrate. If I enable sound, the sound plays when I receive an email but no vibration.
Vibrate works in standby mode when the phone rings.
Anybody have the same problem and a solution?
Thanks
Resurrecting from the dead...Same issue here
I'm having the same symptoms. The light flashes and the notification is there on screen when I turn it on, but the vibrate never happens. If the phone isn't in vibrate only mode, the sound occurs, but still no vibrate and I am SURE vibrate is set to on for ALL alerts...Ideas?
More testing...
I've done some more testing and found out that it is ONLY new emails that do not set off the vibrate feature when the device is in standby. Text messages, alarms, mms and phonecalls all vibrate just fine when in standby. Does anybody know what the problem could be?
if i dont have any notifications with vibrate enabled, is there anyway that i can set the phone to global vibrate and have all my sms's and emails etc vibrate as well? my notifications dont do anything if they arent set to vibrate already.
does anyone understand what im saying?
let me try and lay this out:
for all situations: sms, gmail, email, phone: vibrate is all unchecked.
situation A
volume rocker is set to ring @ medium volume
when calls come in, or when sms's arrive, all i get is a sound and lights, no vibrate.
situation B (reality)
volume rocker is set to vibrate
sms's arrive, only lights flash, no sounds or vibrate
situation C (ideal)
volume rocker is set to vibrate
sms's arrive, lights flash, and phone vibrates.
i figured it out. the app called sound manager does this, but doesnt advertise it very well.
all the notifications that you want to vibrate need to be checked. and in the menu of sound manager there is a vibrate setting, check it to vibrate when silent only.
ah, i can go relax now.
Just got a brand new Note3. Loving it save for the way it handles notifications with vibration mode.
It seems to default to the long "Basic Call" vibrate tone no matter what I configure in the settings. I find this tone to be quite harsh if I'm lying in bed, for example, and get a message. This is true for both SMS and gmail, so far. Further, I tried disabling vibrate notifications in some apps and they persist regardless and always with the same long vibrate tone.
Is this a known issue that others are experiencing? If not, do you have any ideas how I can properly configure vibrate mode to work properly?
Thanks.
In my Android Sounds & Vibration Settings I have "Vibrate when ringing" set on, and a default ringtone. I'm using a Canadian VOIP dialer called Fongo.
With my Axon in Vibrate mode, when I call my Fongo number the Axon will only vibrate once, like a message notification. The call will continue to ring but the Axon is silent/motionless.
In the Fongo app Settings, I can turn on a separate "Vibrate When Ringing" toggle. This fixes the ringing issue, and will continuously vibrate when a call is ringing. However this breaks Silent mode function, so if the Axon is in Silent mode, it will actually vibrate rather than be silent.
Anyone know how I could fix this issue? At work I need it to be 100% silent in Silent mode, and need it to vibrate continuously when receiving a call in Vibrate mode. The vibrate setting is audiably loud in my quiet workplace (film set) so you can understand how this is an issue.
When notification of sms, whats up or other app is coming I feel vibration in Ring mode. When I turn off vibration In Settings/Ring & Vibrate notifications it stops working even in Vibrate mode.
How to setup vibration to feel it only in Vibrate mode when notification is coming. Not in Ring mode where I wanna hear sound only without vibration.
has anyone an answer for this? accessibility shouldn't be an option since it doesn't do the job we want and since we have a slider for this. Until some time it was working normally, I don't know how it got messed up!!
I want vibration in vibration mode and only sound in normal mode..
