What kernel are avalible to install in android 8.1, are the same of nougat ROMs?
Thanks
Try looking around in the threads yourself. For 64 bit we have frostbite, waver, looney, etc. For 33 bit also we have quite a few. Kindly do search yourself before posting as it keeps the place clean.

Gents,
I need your help about "kernel", as I know when installing Android I need the folder named Android and the data.img.
But the kernel what is that?
Thanks for reading and more for helping.
The kernel is the core of the Android OS. Windows too runs on a kernel. Every build already includes one, and usually the most up-to-date or stable version, so you shouldn't have to worry about it, unless you want to update your kernel some time in the future.
I've been running Android for several months now and I've not updated the kernel once.
Still there is somthing to say
First I want to thank you for giving me some of your time.
The answer is clear, but why there is update always (now is 8.6)?
and what the kernel is including, is it the same of Android folder?
I hope I will find some more time.
Check out here for a bunch of explanations of terms that are commonly used around here

The reason that the kernels are updated alot is that the people who build the kernels find flaws in them through testing them, and through the feedback they recieve here on XDA.
Then they work to try and find ways to fix those flaws. Sometimes in fixing one flaw, a new one emerges. Generally it is a good idea to use the latest version of whatever kernel came with the build.
Right now I have a stock TP260, with a locked bootloader. Thanks to GooglePlay's x64 move, at the end of the month pretty much every mobile game I play is switching over to 64-bit , and a quick call to T-Mobile has me told that they're pretty much done updating the TP260... So I have to look elsewhere, or get a new phone if I want to keep playing my games.
So right now I'm looking for a good x64 OS for the TP260, as well as an up-to-date guide for going from stock to having said OS installed.
Thank you for your help.
Have you taken a gander at the K20 ROMS, Kernels, and Recoveries sub? There are a couple 64bit Roms you can choose from that are compatible with the TP260. Lineageos 15.1 is my current and most stable setup, though I'm on the MP260, the build fingerprint is for the TP260 so you'll be good to go.
After some digging around, trying to find a working ROM to use as a daily driver for a family member, I found a lot of links no longer work. I was able to find a CyanogenMod 12 ROM and other versions by doing a search for expressatt.zip on Google. Searching for expressatt.img might get you some other files as well. I tried several ROMs and am using cm-12-20150424-UNOFFICIAL-expressatt.zip and it seems to work ok. I was looking for an Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM or higher so I could install Trebuchet 8.1.0.16 from apkmirror. This is the launcher that used in LineageOS 15.1 Oreo and it makes this old phone feel more modern. Hope this helps you keep finding ROM files for this phone.
mother doesnt want a new phone as her p 10 lite fits for her demands still.
having a look inside no more security patches since early 2019, so getting unsafer from time to time.
some lineage thread is closed here, so i ask around in the community...would there be any ROM better for daily use to flash safe?
thx

The only stable and up to date rom i know about.
I tried 10.0 roms but they were just not stable.
Hey togehter,
I don't get it what happended to XDA in speaking of it's new design. I can't even find the simpelst Custom ROM thread for my device sind everything is so chaoticly organized.
So my side question is where can I switch back to the OLD STYLE of XDA? I totaly dislike the new ones, tbh.
SInce I can't find any Custom Rom's for my Phone on the WWW nor on XDA has anybody an idea where to find one? I am asking because my 8 Pro recived the Android 13 OxygenOS Update
which results in a bootloop bug when it runs out of battery (and continiues even after charging). Not sure why OP hasn't checkd out for this but I don't wanna loos my Data because of there
stupitidy and now I search for an activly maintained ROM mainly on AOSP Base. If not available then on LineageOS Base, thanks.
Cheers and have nice Holidays and X-Mas

https://lineageos.org/ supports OP8PRO officially and gets updated weekly. Curranty I am on AICP A12 that gets updated about every 2 weeks and you can get it here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-12-1-official-aicp-17-1-oos12-instantnoodlep.4464973/ . More roms are here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/f/oneplus-8-pro-roms-kernels-recoveries-other.10371/ but I can't tell if any of them get updated at all.
Best place for ROMS/development is on telegram...
For ROMs, u should be thinking if u want customisation or not and long term updates.
Right now, most ROMs are still based on OOS 12 (u need to be on OOS 12/ updated/ installed OOS 12 twice)
There's also OrangeFox recovery: https://t.me/OrangeFox8
For customisable ROMs, there's Evo X, CrDroid, Cherish/Spark/RiceDroid
Evo X: https://t.me/EvolutionXOnePlus8
CrDroid (Updates are random/ unreliable btw): https://t.me/crdroidop8
Cherish/Spark/RiceDroid: https://t.me/CherishOS8P
DerpFest (Updates are unreliable): https://t.me/DerpFest12
There's nameless which is good for support, but doesn't have all the customisations...
Nameless: https://t.me/nameless_ophub
Here's the updates channel that uploads all the ROMs/Kernels/development that is updated atm
OnePlus 8/8 Pro | Updates: https://t.me/OnePlus8Updates
The ROM right now that's based on OOS 13 (U need OOS 13 installed twice) is FlamingoOS: https://t.me/Flamingo8T

No idea what you mean, there are plenty of roms listed in the Roms/Kernels/Recoveries subforum here without any searching. Just look for the [ROM] tag in each thread title - some titles even say when they were last updated, others just have 11, 12 or 13 in the title.
And no, you can't switch back to the old style XDA - but this one isn't so bad when you get used to it
