At the club, at the bar, or just in your mom's basement, nighttime is when you come out to play. Rate this thread to express how the LG G7 ThinQ's camera performs when no or low light is present. A higher rating indicates that the camera sensor "sees" lots of light in dim conditions, and that the resulting photos have minimal noise. A higher rating also indicates that when the flash fires, the resulting photo is evenly-lit without any bright spots.

some pictures taken by the stock camera, except the first and second taken by the google camera.
5/10 for low light performance.
LG G7 has 1 micron sensors both wide and main. The sensor is not suitable for low light as it introduces lot of noise. But LG have a trick up it's sleeve "Super bright camera" which combines 4 megapixels into one giving 4 megapixel image. This produces bright but very soft image with details lacking. This approach is inferior to the likes of Google/Huawei night mode as they keep shutter open for longer time.
But it has some pros when shooting a scene with moving objects.
It struggles in low light. Very low quality pictures are coming out.

Daylight pictures are fine but lowlight/indoor pictures are full of noise and very little detail. Practically unusable.
I also found Slowmo to work much better with Gcam. Gcam improves lowlight camera performance a lot as well.
On a positive note, video recording is acceptable and Expert Mode lets you take brighter pictures than your eyes can see at night.

With the back facing camera, you can use the standard mode or the wide angle mode. When shooting in wide shot, you'll use an 8MP camera sensor which is absolutely awful. Shoot with the main sensor and you'll get pretty good low light performance.

Can get a little grainy but blows most phones out the water in low light.
*1 main cam night mode
*2 wide cam night mode
Main camera regular photo. Even while drunk, it takes pretty good pictures.
I am really happy with my op 7t pro camera I have just one complain with it the wide angle camera can record only 1080- 30fps .
some info 4k 60fps equals more or less 1 GB per minute not a concern just info

I'd say it's not bad considering the price, but it surely suffers badly in these situations. Gcam helps it somewhat though.
I capture beautiful photos with Gcam, but the stock camera application does not take beautiful photos in the evening
i have captured stars, even the comet Neowise with the stock camera in pro mode. i am satisfied with the results.
Camera is not really usable in low light, unless taking portrait shots with flash. But then again, you can't expect anything at this price.

Rather Poor Low Light Photos
I've been using this phone for a few days. My previous daily is the Pocophone F1.
In comparison with the F1, I'm disappointed. Using both default and GCAM camera apps, the low light photo is horrible.
In the GCAM night mode, the photos would not be focused and super low res. It looks like it was taken in a 2-5 megapixel camera and upscaled. You can see whats happening in the scene, but no fine details at all. In the Pocophone F1, I could still see some details doesnt look that upscaled.
In the default camera app, the picture would be darker, again no fine details and looks upscaled.
