Can I re-lock my bootloader after installing magisk? - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

Benefits/downsides of doing that?
Thanks

I think you can't. Magisk overwrites your boot.img and that's the issue. Guess your phone won't boot afterwards.

Indeed. I tried it and it just got to the mi logo and rebooted itself over and over.

You can lock bootloader by restoring previous boot image in Magisk manager, then you should be okay.

You can't or it will show something like "Your device is destroyed"

You cannot lock bootloader after *any* system mod. Plain and simple.

Hi, please I have a question about this.
So, How do you use banking or paying apps like Google Pay if it checks for unlocked bootloader?
I would like to use Magisk + Google Pay and I dont see the way.
Thanks!

With unlocked bootloader, you must install Magisk to pass SafetyNet. If you don't have Magisk installed and you have an unlocked bootloader, you will fail SafetyNet with ctsProfile being false, rendering you unable to install and run apps requiring you to pass SafetyNet. As long as you pass SafetyNet, you can run banking apps and Google Pay with no problems.

why so many people afraid to keep bootloader unlocked? ok is a security risk, but if high unlikely to have issue if you dont install/run bad stuff on your phone... or i mistake?

Fail safetynet even after complete wipe!!

So my safetynet checker says I failed even though I completely wiped all data! Even the sdcard data! I did a complete fastboot flash of all the system image files including the userdata file. I did not root the phone yet and I don't plan to either, I just want Android Pay.
CTS Profile Match = fail
That's what I get from the safetnet checker...My only other idea is to relock and unlock the bootloader again.
It seems you're not alone. I saw a few posts on reddit describing the same thing. The consensus is that Google may possibly be requiring locked bootloaders as well now for Safetynet.
Granted, I live in Canada and we don't have Android Pay yet. But I just won't even bother if this is the case.
It appears you are right mattkroeder...I relocked my bootloader and it passed, I unlocked it again and it failed....
Damn! I could not figure out why my Pay didn't work today. I'm stock, unlocked, custom ROM, no root. I just tried safetynet and its red. That seems like a bigger hurdle then not allowing rooted phones no pay.
It has been said all along that it was a losing battle....I just hoped that they would eventually block any and all root access at worst. Blocking the bootloader unlock I think puts a nail in the coffin of that little game. You will only be able to have Android Pay with a completely stock phone....
Looks like it is the case now. Now I'm gonna waste 2-3 hours of my precious life, reverting everything back to stock and locked.

Lock bootloader after root and ROM custom

Hello, guys.
Recently, i wanted to install the fulmics ROM (which is awesome) on my LG G6 H870.
So, i've done it, the bootloader has been unlocked, it's rooted right now, and i've got the Fulmics ROM which works perfectly.
But, i still have a question. When i boot up my phone, i've got this message :
"Your device software cannot be checked for corruption. Lock the bootloader. etc..."
This isn't a problem, because i can boot up my phone.
But i just wanted to know if i can remove this message, and how ?
Thank you all for your answers and your help.
This is normal and cannot remove that message. Just ignore it, how many times do you actually reboot for it to be an issue? If you ever need send phone off for repair just flash stock and lock bootloader again.
normal bro don't worry

dude I've got a question: if you wanted to get your bank's app working again in a custom rom/recovery is it possible to relock the bootloader in order to get older compatibility (mario kart, spotify options, bancoestado) but in a system like PA Quartz 3 or PixelExperience ? Or bootloader wont boot locked another system than LG?
I seriously need those apps but also need Android 10

Magisk manager and use the magisk hide feature.

Lock bootloader, keep root?

Lots of apps are beginning to block me from being able to use (Prime Video, ADT are a couple) with bootloader unlocked. It's not the root, because I have Magisk Hide. Is it possible to relock the bootloader and keep root and twrp? This is the H918 running 10s debloated.
No. Unlocking the bootloader is what stops it from checking the integrity of boot and recovery. If you lock your bootloader, it will bootloop.
This is where all other models have an advantage. The debug bootloader reports that it is locked even though it isn't.

I am able to play prime video content on my h918. I do not know about adt, but I am able to use bank apps with magisk. I suspect Google Play thinks your device is "uncertified". Go to the Play Store then settings and check the very bottom for device certification. I find a lot of apps use this check to disable app/content.

Before I did the update to 10s,it did say uncertified. Now it says certified, so it's not that. Directv now wouldn't work until I hid root, but both those apps still said my system was modified even hiding root from them. Oh I should also mention Netflix works fine. Those 2 apps tho, they will not.

SafetyNet Pass?

Hello!
I am using a T-Mobile device converted to the newest Open Beta. Before, I converted it using the method which does not require a bootloader unlock; however, my device wouldn't pass Safetynet and I couldn't use Google Pay or download Netflix from the Play Store. Now, I've unlocked the bootloader, rooted my device, tried to use Magisk Hide and my device still doesn't pass Safetynet. It says "cts profile : false". Can anybody help me? What apps do I need to hide Magisk from? Are there any modules that can help with this? I would really like to be able to use Google Pay and be on Android Q, but I don't want to be stuck waiting on T-Mobile to roll it out.
Use magisk module called props to pass safety net

Stock Oneplus 8Pro cannot pass Safetynet

Hi
Long story short, I had to restore my device using MSM (11.0.4.4AA). However, after I restore using MSM, I cant pass safetynet. basicIntegrity ANd ctsProfile are both failing. Bootloader is still locked (MSM relocks it), and Im not rooted. I tried unlocking bootloader and rooting with Magisk, enabling Magiskhide, and even tried some pass safetynet modules but still not passing. Tried updating software to 11.0.5.5AA (OxygenUpdater and OS update methods) and tried installing OS using fastboot (flash-all.bat method. Still cant pass safetynet... Any other suggestions? Im pretty lost right now... On top of that, Rogers network in Canada has been down all day so I cant get SMS to verify my accounts and especially my lifeline Whatsapp, but thats for another rant... TIA
