Android Customization Suite 1.0
This is a program to complement your ROM. It is able to produce a CWM flashable zip with apps your ROM might be missing (T-Mob ones, launchers, utilities, etc). It also has other tools available for you. It can produce an empty flashable zip for you (read more about it here). And now, it has "repositories." Developers can upkeep their own repos with whatever files they wish. Roms, themes, mods, etc.
need Captivate Devs to talk to me to get their work added on here!
in the mean time, you guys can mess with the Utilities in the Vibrant section just to get a feel for it

Download. Note: you must have Java installed to run this app
WHILE YOU ARE DOWNLOADING MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP
Unzip the folder. Please keep it intact. Moving files around in there will probably break the functionality.
Run ACS.jar.
Choose desired apps.
Wiping Dalvik cache is recommended, but it will take you about 5 minutes to boot
Copy flash.zip to your internal sd card
Flash with CWM
Linux users: if you are running Linux I advise you to use the run.sh file to run the program, otherwise it may use your home directory to store files
Mac users: you need to have java 1.6 installed for this to work. i tested this on a friend's mac (running 10.5.8 & java 1.5) and it wasn't working. also i was not able to update her java to 1.6 either. so i'm assuming you need to have snow leopard installed for this to work...

Check out this reference guide for more info on setting up a repo list. Feel free to contact me for any clarification. It's really not hard to do it, just have to understand how the app works a little. The guide should give insight and instruction. Contact me to add your repo to the list.

I haven't tried using it to mod any roms, but it does start up and show dialogues on the Mac OS X 10.6.6 with Java 1.6. The minor annoyance is that it creates the kitchen folder where the jar-file is.

On a side note, if no one wants to add the Stock AT&T apps I guess I could do it. I don't have a Cappy, but are there any strange APK names I should be aware of?

Wow, this is really cool. We're getting to the point where ROM flashers can very easily make their own customizable ROMs without breaking a sweat!

Feel free to take anything from my sig and add it.
I only tinker, but if I think it has looked cool on my phone, I post it.

No captivate roms/themers/moders have requested to add a section for their apps.
Over on the Vibrant I added stock apps and utilities, and other people maintain the other lists. However I don't have a captivate, so it's all community dependent

we need to get them to add to it!

Hi everybody,
I want to present you an Android application and a website I've made.
The project is called 2BOrange.
NEW - ALL THE DOCUMENTATION IS THERE: DOCUMENTATION
Introduction
The purpose of the project is to make anyone able to benefit of the best improvement available for their Android phone. It could be an application modified, a kernel, a ROM, etc, available on the net, and in particular on XDA Forum.
The application can work on any Android phone.
How Does it work?
Short version : You can post and download on a specific website a file to install on the phone, plus the shell script to execute for the installation.
There are 2 parts in the project, a website, and an Android application.
The website address: http://www.2borange.com
The website is used to upload and stock the shell script.
A script is composed of two parts:
- a text file which contains the description, plus the command to execute in the shell
- an optional zip file. The zip will contain any file necessary to the execution of the command, like a kernel to install.
By example, on Samsung GS, it is possible to install a kernel through the Android shell even if cwm is not installed. The script will contain commands to install the kernel and the zip file will contain the zImage itself plus the Samsung tool used for the installation. The zip size is limited to 20MB for the moment. It can be improved in the near future.
Is it Free ? Is it Open Source?
It is totally free.
Android application is open source, the code can be downloaded at this address. The php scripts executed on the website will become open source when I will be sure there is no security risk.
Do I have to learn a new programming language to use your application?
Hopefully... No!
You just have to use the android shell command and that's all.
So, how to do now?
1) You are a potential user of the application
In this case:
- install the application on your Android phone
- search something you want to install
- push download button
- push execute button
- that's all
- there is no need to create any account
2) You are an author of Kernel, ROM, application...
In this case:
- create an account on the website
- modify a script model or write your own from scratch
- upload the script and any file useful
If you need some example, go on the 2BOrange website
Can I help you?
Yes, you can:

- give some ideas of improvement
Just a last question, why this project?

- can filter the result of a search by the phone properties (name, brand, firmware) - NEW FUNCTION

- can execute the script in the Android phone shell with root rights if needed and if the phone has been previously rooted

- compute a MD5SUM for the files uploaded on the server and communicate it to the phone, so integrity of the file is always checked - NEW FUNCTION
- can add and display comment for each script
- can delete a script
- can abandon a script, the script is not deleted, but another user can adopt it and update it in the future - NEW FUNCTION
- can inform a user that a comment relative to a specific script has been added - NEW FUNCTION
- can count votes for a specific script - NEW FUNCTION
- can update the user profile (password and email) - NEW FUNCTION
- can display a script including the description part - NEW FUNCTION
- have access to a documentation of the server and the application

I am trying to make a script to update HTC phone kernel or ROM. Unfortunately I have only a SGS and have no knowledge relative to the other phones.
I see you have a HTC, can you say me what kind of tools you use to update your kernel or your ROM?

Is this strictly for Samsung Galaxy users?

And I only have a HD2, so I don't know anything about Samsung devices
To Update a Rom, I usw the CWM recovery and only flash the ROM.zip!
Tor update the Recovery(or take another system partition), you use DFT.
DFT : Sync the phone via HTC Sync, power it of and select in the hacked bootlder(MAGLDR) usb flasher, and flash it over the Pc.
On other HTC phones, you do it only with cwm, i think.
The HTC HD2 is another HTC Android phone, because it was a Windows Mobile phone, and dont comes with Android.
I think this wont help you very much, but it would be great if this app support the HD2 in future!!

I have not updated this page since one month because when I launch the first time the project I understood most didn't understood the project.
This time I have wrote more documentation and implement very useful improvement.
So, today is the second lauch with all these updates, don't hesitate to write me for any information.

i understand that you mean Setup window at first run .. but this will make the app for windows only , also you just need to run the 1st tool just once , then you can just delete it , but i'll try my best to make it easier , btw , before a day from making this thread , it was so dummy and you should add your adb dir every time to run it , as this pic : http://i.imgur.com/xbwtquz.jpg

No need for setup window, use java ini/properties file instead.

Now that the Gear has moved from Android to Tizen we need a modded version to work with SDB instead of ADB.

Are you missing a DLL file from your Java Program? I'm getting Java errors stating it can't find the main class of the file. I'm running Windows 7 32-Bit and Java 6 Standard Edition installed.

how can i use it to flash twrp or cwm img file to my phone??

Would be perfect if it had a feature to batch install apks.

just add the file you want to flash in the 1st text box called "select file to install / flash / push and then select the option from combo box

the problem is that i don't have any Tizen based device , so , even if i made it support SDB i wouldn't be able to test it lol

by batch install, he means to select multiple APKs and install them together without having to select one after another and wait for it to install.

It is packed/obfuscated with the obsidium packer before there were only 2 detections now it has shown many detections because of packer signatures the AV trigger it as virus.
I will try another packer next time,all packers i have are pirated and all pirated gets triggered easily by AV ,do not have enough to buy legitimate version of packer.
Anyway i have AVG free antivirus and hopefully it doesnot detecr it and i use this tool for my daily work.

This was not flagged when i released it now ot is flagged by half of antiviruses because company forwarded it that the packer used to pack is pirated copy ,if you are a research analyst you would know how these antiviruses comapnies sometimes pressurize developers to pay to them so they can keep it clean
Anyway patches and cracks / packers always result in antiviruses triggers
Except you have legitimate copy of packers
I have all kind of packers/obfuscators in my HDD and most of them are triggered as virus because it is pirated copy/cracked packers without licenses
Anyway i use it for myself and hopefully AVG free antivirus i use didnot triggered it yet so i have no problem ,once it trigger then i will think about it

Changan Uni-T 2022 - s202_ica_spm8666p1_64_car

Hello everyone,
I have this model and its head unit is really buggy with apple car play, it would work once and stop working several times or just randomly disconnect from time to time. a pain to use honestly so I started scouring around for means of either fixing the buggy apple car play or experimenting with ways to make android auto work.
I tried the android box and it works fine, but its dependent on apple car play, and just yesterday I got this message:

And regardless of how many times i tried to reset the screen it kept on happening.
anyhow after some digging i found a thread somewhere that had the code for the developer mode.
Steps :
You go
- On the phone app press *#*#888 then press the call key
- A password prompt would come up the password is : 369875
Then a menu with full chinese text will be present, i tried everything until i found a settings button,
at first its an empty menu but if you swipe left or right you get taken into the default android settings menu, i tried starting developer mode and that works but there is no developer options menu in the main menu, probably disabled by the manufacturer.
i did find out that its running Android 9
and that this is the model code for the Headunit : s202_ica_spm8666p1_64_car
No idea if anything is possible at this point, but sharing just in case someone knows.
For as far as i know without toggling on USB debugging its not possible to sideload anything.
Anyone have any clue on where to go with this ?

thanks for sharing this information, I have Changan Uni k 2023, and I used same steps you mentioned, and I got chinese panel, however, I found if you go to the second tab USB you'll find 2 options 1- using usb as an input, 2- using usb in ADB mode, I activated the ADB mode but still my laptop didn't recognize my car unit,
hope you or someone else can help us from here.

it worth to mention that if you go to the tab above cpu, it will show you 2 options, the first one "Settings" it will open Android settings, from there I went to last option "about" and to last item on it which's "IMEI" I think, if you click on it 7 times it will activate developer mode
then you will go back to main page of Android's settings, then advanced settings, then click the tab to show more advanced options, you'll find developer mode
I went there activated USB debugging, and change USB to file transfer, yet nothing happened!

be advised that I did all these steps in order to connect my car head unit to my computer so I can install file manger app by ADB then I can install any apps I wanted in this unit, so if your goal is different and you wanna just fix car play errors, you will need only to go to system settings in main page of the car then resetting,
it will work just fine!

Actually i started for just fixing the car play issue, but then i decided its better if i just go the ADB route and install a file manager app or some sort of store to download apks directly.

Actually I made progress !
If you go into the developer options there is a default USB connection thing that you can set to data transfer, and then if you do go ahead and go to the menu outside and set ADB from that other button it will connect to a pc.
So i tried the following command with ADB tools,
.\adb.exe install -g "C:\Users\vx_10\Desktop\platform-tools\android_auto.apk"
but keep getting errors
I must be missing a step or something, but hey progress made !

I did same steps but no luck, you have to make sure that your pc actually connected to your car by listening the connected devices by this command:
adb devices
then try install command
mine show 0 devices connected

maybe you need a different kind of cable, mine actually shows the device, i am only having this issue with the install about the password

when ever password is requested as the picture you shared, or try:
adb root
adb shell
then enter the password

Thanks man ! i did a lot of progress, finally figured how to install stuff, but after doing so they do not show up in the apps, so i am trying to launch them with shell commands, i downloaded android auto and a browser
This worked for installing :

trying this command to launch them

for your issue I believe there 2 options, install luncher and make it default home, or you can look for the circle dot app it stays on your screen and put your favorite apps to show whenever you click on it.

Dude thank you so much for your help ! launcher did end up working
its awesome with wifi and all, pretty much an android device, but you have to do all the steps to get into it, and the screen is partially obscured by the overlay from one of the UI apps, so you cant press back or return, tried disabling but could not do that from the android system, probably i could from ADB.
Android auto is giving me a similar error
i did try to install them through the web browser but no go, although a lot of progress made, still could not fix the apple car play or get android to work.
Man i love troubleshooting
Also i noticed that when i connect an android mobile through USB, its not detected by anything, maybe i should look for an app that acts like android auto and connects to a phone and check what happens. or i am missing something i dunno.

no problem, I searched about the circle is called EasyTouch
try to find apk and install it, it will save you time reaching out to your apps and adding home and back buttons
also try to install google play apk

also install ES file browser, is good file manger and you can install apps directly with it using usb drive

Easytouch is like magic ! such a good recommendation !
beyond that google play store crashes on startup, maps freezes on startup, waze also, i think some core services that android uses are not installed or something, needs more digging, but overall i found that apkpure is a good alternative for the app store for now.
Android Auto mentions some missing apps but crashes when you try to install them, will try to install them prior and checking again, this was a long journey !
