I have just received a system update notification telling me I can update to the latest 28.0.A.7.31 firmware which was certified on July 7th according to PTCRB.. Should I proceed with the update ??
https://www.ptcrb.com/vendor/complete/view_complete_request_guest.cfm?modelid=29933
I've read somewhere that in the (.27) firmware, which is available only in UK region, people said that the CPU speed is running at a lower frequency and some cores are even turned off/in idle state by default.. I wonder if that is the case with this update..
P/S: I'm not sure if I'm currently really running on a (.24) HK firmware.. I am from Malaysia so I'm assuming I'm running on HK firmware.. Is anyone else receiving this update ??
EDIT: I've updated to the latest firmware..
Well, why don't you try it for yourself? I mean the other areas are still on .24 so no-one is currently able to give you information about that.
i just updated to the .31 updates and i am also from malaysia.
After the update, performance wise nothing has really changed much , but there is a big update to the camera software.
just to point out something i noticed after the update:
1. The manual mode 20.7 mp can now touch focus (correct me if i am wrong , the older version couldnt do it)
2. The focusing on the camera improved a huge miles.(just yesterday , i am frustrating to focus a bank receipt of bank-in or anything close up like , and focus on any mode in anything just doesnt work right)
The update just made me more in love with this phone. Although a bit disappointing that it is not 5.1.1 update LOL

I see.. I hope other regions will get it soon as I'm not really that good at noticing changes/improvements, at least in great detail with the backing of information/stats from 3rd party apps (CPU-Z) etc.. I'll try to give my thoughts on it should I notice anything.. Can't wait for fellow users to make a review of this update..

I see.. I guess this is a firmware to rectify the overheating issue plus a couple of subtle improvements here and there.. Was not expecting 5.1.1 as the version number is not that different from (.24) firmware.. Hoping for it to come soon though..

ooo, could we hope for a preparation to 5.1.1 then and lots of bug fixes
I am using HK firmware, and I am SURE there are no new OTA update(.31).
I just received this update, its 37 MB I haven't noticed anything different so far, probably some bug fixes.
I'll update if I notice anything new.
Wew, so fast.
There are no changelog of 40.100 On the zentalk.
Are you for real?
Hope I get this soon, .97 is killing me, voice no longer receives txt's unless I force refresh and my home screen is super slow to load
Don't see anything on zentalk about it nor do I have an update available... At 37mb, prob just little fixes...
I know everyone seems to update manually via the zip, but I just wanted to confirm that we can update with the FOTA app if we used root method 3 (locked bootloader).
Edit:
Nevermind, I ended up using a collective update to bring me from an older firmware version.

Oh yeah I just saw the screenshot, I should have mentioned that I have installed the CN firmware for better battery life because I was getting only 3 hours ost with WW .
I was on 2.20.40.97 so i gues the WW update will follow.
Does anyone capture link?

Does the CN firmware work better in our country, mate? Any differences from the WW?

The only difference is that we have to install the play store manually and the ost is between 4 hours if you game and close to 5 if you don't game.
i get good reception I never had any problem, I get 4g where I used to have with my galaxy s5 and the same speed with WW firmware.
After you install the play store you won't tell the difference between CN firmware and WW other than the better battery life.

Cool then, for some reason my WW phone works just fine, sometimes though Android OS drains a lot of battery but playing with Greenifier and the Autostart Manager helped me bypass this partly. I believe that Android 6 will probably fix any problem with the battery
Did you also get the phone out of the Eshop.gr crazy sundays offer?
any link ?
Any link please ?

I wish they would update the graphics driver or something because the performance stuttering even in simple games like Subway Surfers is very annoying.

there is no stuttering in Subway Surfers on my phone. ( 100% stock 2.3GHz version)
Well I just got my honor 5 and wanted to upgrade the software, emui says it's 3.1 and when I put the check for updates it says there are no available. Nether when I check my lollipop 5.1.1 to got to Marshmallow. No upgrade available.
My cellphone was one of the Prime Day 120 bucks, KIW-L24c56.
Is there something I should do? I know very few of cellphones, but at least my moto g2 asked me itself to upgrade to Marshmallow which I did, apparently this has Marshmallow upgrade also but nowhere to be found.
Than you.
Wait for it its not fully out yet.. it takes some time.

Check out this thread. It gives detailed instructions to download the official update and install it.
im checking the hihonor website and there is no 6.0 upgrade
Is it just me or no one else can see it ?
http://www.hihonor.com/us/support/
Well... so far no luck upgrading.
I'm new in this subforum (just got my KIW-L24 last night) and have no idea what the "-c56" on your model number is so hopefully I'm not wasting your time, but
I was able to update mine to marshmallow using this update package that was provided in this thread.
Just make a "dload" folder on your internal storage and extract the update file from the zip to it. Then in system update on the phone, hit menu and local update... should walk you through from there.
Hope this helps!
well apparently Huawei pulled out the update because there were some issues with the phones, they are gonna work on it and put the update on L24 with Marshmallow 6 and Emui 4 back when everything is resolved.

Did you hear this from Huawei? I'm thinking the same thing and posted this in another thread, but was wandering if it was officially a problem.
See below:
They have removed marshmallow from the site. It's not official, but I believe they are doing some work to it. It was extremely laggy and had poor battery life and performance compared to lollipop. I reverted back after running it.
You guys would be better off waiting to see what repairs are done to it.
When you click on the support site, look to the right under manuals
http://www.hihonor.com/us/support/
You will see how to rollback officially from Marshmallow, if there were no problems, I'm pretty sure that would NOT be listed the same day marshmallow was removed from the site
You see this:

Yea, I wrote to them and they replied me that there were some issues regarding the update. One day there was the update and the other it wasnt, so I asked them and they said their engineers are looking into it and as soon as possible its gonna be back posted on the website.
amazing how these buggy updates make it through testing to get released, beyond belief & biggest drawback with current phones is crappy firmware & apps , programming, testing & design rules needs massive improvement ...
Android itself is big part of problem ...
Funny how CM has a better software compared yo such big brand Honor/Huawei
Just now at the Honor US support site.
There is this
KIW-L24, Android 6.0.1,EMUI 4.0,C567D003,United States
for download.
Hope it is the patched version.
yea I just entered the website and saw it too.
Im gonna wait a while to see if things are patched, apparently the patch is the same as the one before so Ill wait a bit until people test it out.

nothing changed in the about phone screen, I assume it's just bug fix for the memory leaks and bad battery

I am sure that this is what I put on my daughters phone yesterday, but it still shows as B331 in the about phone screen. Can anyone else confirm this?
well I got 6.0.1 and new Emui in my cellphone OTA. Just this morning I got an update and after downloading and installing it was the new version.
Phone seems a bit laggy and not as fast as 5.0, is this normal for 6.0? Or just me?
Hello !
I have some troubles with the update system of my phone (L31C432B161).
I flashed a custom rom when I was in android 7.0 and I wanted to come back in rom stock. I did a wrong thing and now, I'm locked in B161.
If I try to update it, the version shows beta test key or something like that and my phone has a lot of bugs.
I need help please ! :/
If you have the warranty, go to the official HUAWEI service and tell them that you never received any sort of update (of course lie.). If it works, they will update your phone

Huawei will always fix phones when it comes to faulty updates/non-updatable phones.
Hi guys,
I have a H870DS v10m-HKG-XX. The G6 failed last week to update (it puts me a "The software is invalid" before shutting off the update).
Since then the update center don't find any update so it's not possible to relaunch the update.
Is anybody in this situation ? or knows a solution ?
I made a factory reset but nothing changes.
Thanks in advance.
The same thing happened to me. As far as I know, there is a bug in the update and LG pulled it. They are working on it though.
