I used smart switch to back up all my messages. did the same with titanium. then new messages came in right before I flashed the phone so i used smart switch again to only back up the last few messages. that option REPLACED the existing complete messages backup with the smaller one of the most recent messages. If i restore Titanium it overwrites the smart switch and i lose the recent messages and visa versa. Anyone know how to join the two, how to add the contents of one backup to the other?

After a complete blackout of the phone (crash), and restarting the phone, all my emails and SMS:s are gone. It does not receive any new messages form my IMAP-accounts..
Is there any recovery-software that could recover my sms:s from \windows\messaging, because that directory is full of files..
I have a week old backup of my sms:s, but i really need some that came during this week.
Switching messages-views between threaded and non-threaded shows me either 3 messages stored on the sim-card, or most of my messages in threaded view. But doing a backup of the messages finds just the SMS-messages..
This really pisses me off, because i guess that i need to to do a complete reset for getting back my messages in a backupable mode!
Hello.
I want to back up sms threads between myself and a specific person to gmail. I downloaded 'sms backup +' (which is quite nice), but i have yet to see how i am able to back up sms threads between myself and a specific person. I do not need to back up all my sms.
Any constructive input would be appreciated.
Thank you
If you want to keep certain messages on your phone but don't want them backed up to Gmail maybe you could back up all messages to you SD card, delete the messages you don't want in Gmail, back up to Gmail and then restore messages to your inbox from your SD card.
There is probably an easier way but I'm only halfway through my morning coffee
Thank you for the suggestion.
For what it's worth, the app "SMS Backup and Restore" (free) will allow you to backup selected conversations. Also it has a send to mail function built right in.
Might be easier

I recently upgraded to Nougat Pure Nexus. Before I did, I made a backup of my SMS messages with Titanium Backup. When I had everything installed, I booted up and then restored my SMS messages. This took about 45 minutes. During that time, I had a friend send me a test text message. I never received the message. After the backup was done all of my messages were there but the one that was sent while I was restoring my messages never appeared in Textra or the default Google Messenger app. Is there any way to see if I missed other messages or get those back that I received while doing a restore? I think this may be due to the fact that Titanium set itself as the default SMS app when restoring messages but I would have thought that they would still come in anyway. Can anyone help me with this? I fear I missed important messages.
I'm on Verizon FYI.
EDIT: checked with Verizon. Nothing lost I don't know how to delete this thread.
Hi Guys,
I have imported my SMS messages from iOS to my new OnePlus 5 and I am facing a strange issue.
I have used iSMS2droid with a backup from iTunes and also SMS Backup and Restore. The weird thing is the messages show up only in the OxygenOS stock messages app and not in Google Messages. Also they are not grouped correctly (some SMS from the same number show up in different threads) and they are not ordered by date.
Any help would be really appreciated. I've already tried to delete them and re-import from SMS Backup and Restore but with no luck.
Thank you
So I have ATT advanced messaging turned on. The problem is that if I use an app besides smart switch to backup sms messages, it only captures received messages. Apparently it's some restriction with Advanced Messaging.
Does anyone know of a way to view smart switch backed up sms messages? I have a friend that lost our conversation, and I was trying to provide a copy but nothing seems to work. Thanks!
