FoneArena mentioned that this phone doesn't support Treble, having been confirmed by 'Asus support'. But they didn't show the result of Treble check app.

That blog is heavily misinformed by someone. Few of the reviewers have already confirmed that it supports treble.
https://twitter.com/revatlas/status/988440612075532288?s=19
According to Google, every phone shipping with Android Oreo should be treble supported. This phone is no exception.
Its use android stock rom / aosp so it didnt need treble support I think... Xiaomi Mi A1 with android stock rom is same... It didnt support treble
Btw we have confirmed that it has full treble support. We have a user from Indonesia who already got his device confirmed that. Has separate vendor partition and also the firmware which is available now on Asus website does confirm the treble compatibility(we have extracted and investigate the same). Attaching a SS from Zenfone max pro m1 from a user who shared that.
So yah its fully treble enabled. :good:
Every device launch with Android 8 is mandatory to support trebble, fonearena is noob or newbie type site and even their reviews are pathetic like battery banchmarks and all

Please read the sticky titled "Device Forum Rules (Please Read before posting)". It's there for a reason.
Hydrogen OS update
So how is the OS ? Anyone has reviewed it yet ?
I live in China, I find this ROM really nice, a lot of features are here to make stuff quick, like the long fingerbitton press to go straight into wechat paying (or alipay, it's up to you) the automatic spam folder for sms, and other small stuff that makes me happy ^^
I'm wondering if other people are using this ROM over here ...
I just went to their official website, apparently they have an 8.0 Beta rom available, I'm trying to get some information before trying that
Hydrogen os beta 3 , installed over OOS Beta 3 & all working as it should :good:

Not that good as OOS. Some chinese bloatware, no Google Play Store installed and battery life isn't great. There is some chinese words in apps (Phone dialer app - call log) here and there...
I'd like to use a ported version of the launcher from Hydrogen OS! Maybe somebody will take care of it.
Finally got updated to Oreo
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Yeah seems that they released the stable version, I'm still on the beta 3 though, will I lose my data after the update ? and I guess that I have to root again and everything , right ?
Yeah you'll have to root again. You won't lose any data though.

I recently received the oreo beta update. Using the terminal method I checked if the device supports treble.
The results were positive.
You're the best
Heck yes!
Can anyone else confirm?
I checked that with the app Treble Check and it confirms that the Oreo update on the 7x supports treble.
Edit: just doublechecked that with the terminal method and getprop ro.treble.enabled is true

That's what I got out of the shell, Treble seems supported
Thank you everyone. This is great news for 7X owners!
Why it shouldn't be? Every Emui 8 might get treble support, or it looks like 100% is supported.
i checked it with treble check app too n it says its treble supported...
Yes , can conform.
does the root method and existing twrp is working on oreo beta version too .. ??

And things work?
Hey guys!
After installing open beta 13, how do I go about flashing treble GSIs? I want to flash the dotOS GSI on my oneplus 5.
I have tried the following method and it does not work - boots me back into bootloader:
1) Flash blue_spark treble recovery.
2) Format data
3) Wipe system, data, caches
3) Flash no-verity
4) Flash the system.img
5) Reboot
When I reboot, it boots me back into bootloader mode (fastboot mode). Any ideas on how to proceed?
did you try to mount vendor partition?
I think that no-verity isn't compatible with treble yet
Camera isn't working some guys installed gsi over ob13 and reported it.
Check telegram phh-treble: https://t.me/phhtreble
Can you try these?
I found these in the GSI forum for OP5.

First Question: Not possible.
As for your second question, you would need to have allot of experience with working on devices trees, kernel etc
