Pixelated video playback issue after Oreo update - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

Hi
I have issued low res videos pixelated after Oreo update. Especially on Facebook instagram and UC browser. Built-in apps works perfectly (YouTube, chrome etc.) which use built-in video player. Video playback quality is not good as nougat. After I have realized the issue I have tested it with Lineage (Oreo 8.1) and other kernels but all same. I have no idea what caused this issue if adreno drivers or something else. Because of this annoying issue I have turned back to Nougat.
Thanks.

All flash videos in any browser are out of sync

Hi!
I have SGS2 for about a week now. A couple of days after buying it I noticed that all flash videos from any video service like youtube play with audio a little behind video. The lag is about 250 msec, it's constant in any video or browser, doesn't change during video playback and doesn't depend on resolution as well. I tried latest 10.3 from market and rolled back to 10.1, but it doesn't help.
In native youtube app and in mediaplayers the sync is perfect.
Any ideas how to fix it?
Maybe there is a way to completely uninstall flash and reinstall 10.3?
Firmware KG5, no root.

[Q] Media playback to fast

I am on the latest stock ROM and I have an issue where all media (audio, video) in all apps (doubletwist, YouTube, YouTube.com in stock browser) plays at probably 10x speed.
I believe this was working before the latest update from Acer.
Anyone see this or have thoughts?

Youtube App - Black Screen - Audio fine

Phone info: Rooted (Dirty Santa) VS99513A Security Patch Level December 1, 2016
Problem: Youtube App - almost all videos will initially show the static video preview screen, but will then go black as soon as ad and/or video starts. Audio is fine throughout.
I can play YT video from the Chrome browser on the phone (after disabling hardware acceleration).
I've cleared data/cache from YT app. I've uninstalled/reinstalled YT app. Reinstalled all YT updates, etc. Don't know what the issue is. Annoying.

Start playing video then swipe to dismiss it. Play the video again and it should work. Happens to me on a modded version I have and usually that fixes it.
I'm experiencing the same issue. It only works through swipping down with Youtube modded version.
Really miss the official YouTube app.
Any help .. ?

Video recording does not work on Android 9.0 pie stable

I used the vpn trick to update to android pie and have magisk installed. Everything works fine, 4g wifi etc. However, I noticed in the stock camera app video recording does not work. I can take pictures both on front and rear cam. When I enabled hyperlapse or slowmo, it can record video but never when those features are not enabled. I tried installing Open Camera from playstore (an opensource camera software) and tried to record video with that app but still nothing. It says "Failed to record video". I recently also enabled camera2api and installed gcam and it can take pictures but not record video. Weird thing is that I tried capturing video on Facebook Messenger and it worked. Video recording works on messenger but not on camera apps?? Did anyone experience this or is it just me?
Try to record video without audio in Open camera. If it works, download Cinema FV camera app and try different audio codec. It happened to me on Oreo, I couldn't find the reason. Once the full ROM has been released by Xiaomi, I reflashed it and video started to work in all apps again. Maybe something went wrong during OTA update, hard to tell. All I know is that it messed up with audio codecs and I had to use another as the default one to be able to record video with sound.

Hmm you're right the problem is with the audio. I tried open camera and disabled audio and it worked. I also followed your suggestion and installed cinema fv camera app and tried all the different codecs but it still doesn't work. It works though if I disable audio completely. Maybe I'll just wait for the new security patch to come.
I just found my old post, this codec in Cinema FV worked for me when I had the recording issue - "AAC-ELD".

Question 1.1.3 video playback issue

Hi.
After updating OS to 1.1.3 all my media player apps like Netflix, YouTube, Disney+ or even IGS are lagging every few frames and my audio is desynchronized with video.
Anyone having similar issues? Any fixes?
