[ HELP ] Play Store New Look - Zenfone 2 Laser Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
This is my first post/thread on XDA. I used XDA since 2016 and I just decided to create a thread and ask about a question regarding the play store new look. I downloaded a rom [AOSP Extended 8.1 Oreo] and noticed the play store featured a new look and later I decided to switch to a different rom [RR Nougat] for some reason. I then saw the different play store, so I decided to switch back to AEX. But, now it doesn't look like it was before. I can show show you some screenshots as to how it looked in the new look. I am not sure if the Android Version--nougat or oreo-- makes a difference in play store appearance. So, I would like to revert back to the futuristic look. I appreciate the help!
*edit* I can't upload links yet, but google "google play store new colorless" and the first link should be from AndroidPolice. Click it and I really like the full-screen install button when you scroll down and see the images. Thanks! { Check if this link works : tinyurl. com/yc8pdep2 and remove the space in-between }

[Q] Is there any way to remove old apps from showing in the Play store

So, over the year(s), I have installed, tried, uninstalled, hundreds of android apps on multiple devices.
So I got my new Nexus 7 and wanted to browse through my list of apps in Google Play. Problem is that there are too many listed there. If you scroll through (I guess it's most recent first) it takes dozens of scrolls to get to the end.
And if I find a few things I want down near the end of the list, once you install one, the list goes back to the begginning!
I'd like to be able to remove from the Play Store listing, those 100 or so apps that I know I will never be reinstalling.
Also, the web version of the play store, only shows the first 180 or so, I can't even get to those labled P through Z!
Search yielded little so I turn to you for help.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
I'd like to know exactly the same thing. So far not found anything.

I would also be very interested to find out how to do this.

Not at the moment. It does need to be addressed, and one would assume it will be. It's a complete mess.

Permanently removing uninstalled apps
At this time, there is no way to permanently delete or remove apps from the Google Play website (My Orders/My Android Apps) or from the Google Play Store app (My Apps) that you’ve previously downloaded but have since uninstalled.
Too lazy to type lol...that was too easy but u sure knocked it out the park
Browse the play store in landscape so you don't have the list reset every time.
I wish they would at least let you filter your old apps... I'm much more interested in seeing the apps that I actually paid for lol.

Anyone wanting to see paid apps only, you need to install this modified play store APK from Modaco.

Just in case anyone is interested...
I've been a Springpad user for a while, and use the 'spring it' feature from the Play store app to create lists - purchased apps, essential apps, etc. It's really helped with organisation. I just click the saved link from Springpad, and I'm sent straight to the relevant Play store entry.
Yeah, so it's a bit of a dirty fix, but it suits me until Google get the Play store niggles sorted. Guessing it will work with other task/organisation apps, but haven't tried...

How do I stop Google play store from auto updating itself?

I do not like the new Google play store. I deleted it and reinstalled the previous version but somehow it just auto updates itself. Anyone know a way to stop it from auto updating?
I think there is a market updater app that you can freeze with Titanium. I am fairly sure that I did that on Gingerbread
Most likely the OP isn't interested anymore to get an answer, but since this thread is well ranked by Google when someone search for the same question posted by the OP, I think it worth to update this thread with my answer that can be read here:

Thanks for the answer! Unfortunately I forgot why I didn't want the app to auto update itself. I must have had a reason, lol!
Theme breaks new Play Store

Because if you have a style theme running, (TBO BlackKat or Infamous dark theme donate version) the new Play Store will crash when you open it.

Thanks! I'm glad you posted this. I've been having trouble with the recent Play Store updates (v5.10.30, the one before it, and the one after it I got from APK mirror), so I created the folder, and uninstalled all the updates, and so far it hasn't reinstalled the recent version.

[Q] has anyone else side loaded the play store?

Just curious...I used app extractor, sent it to Google drive and installed it...shows up in side loader app (chainfires) and shows quite a few more apps than the limited playstore access the nexus player has built in. Haven't checked to see if it shows led our more apps than the web version does. Yet, was just excited it even worked
So glad this was moved to the "where threads go to die forum" X__x
I'll keep any future ideas for development of the product to myself.
Which version did you use?
How positive... Patience is a virtue.
Yeah I did this. Make sure you backup your original play store first. I thought it wood install side by side the other play store just like the YouTube app does. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get the normal android tv play store back. Anyone have a titanium backup of it I could try? So far side loading the apk into the system/app folder gets it to show up, but when I launch it out just goes back to home screen.

Really hate the new play store design

I really don't like the new play store design. First off, I can't see everything from left to right because I guess my phone screen isn't wide enough or maybe the custom dpi i'm using is throwing it off. I know I could turn the phone on it's side and that would solve this problem, but I prefer to keep it vertical. Secondly, I hate having to swipe left and right to scroll through the apps available in each category. I guess I just prefer to old school up and down method. I have tried reverting to version 5.10 with the old school design, but the play store keeps auto updating me to version 6.
Is there any way I can keep this from happening so I can stick with one of the 5.0 versions of the market? I searched around the net and saw a few suggestions, but most of those were a few years old and must not work on lollipop. Is there an updated way to do it? And yes I am rooted if that means anything using either Bliss or Tesla ROM.
Thanks....
Same. Totally sucks. Unfortunately I think we're stuck with it being that it can't function without the auto update. I could be wrong and hope I am because the new UI is a pile of crap.

I don't know what team black out is. If it's a theme then the theme would carry over to a new play store update. All of my themes carry over. It could be a hacked version of the play store you are using which might explain why it doesn't auto update.
EDIT: I found a thread here on XDA that talked about modding the playstore apk by signing it with a different key and that would prevent google from updating it. Problem is, 'm not sure what that means. I'm comfortable with making changes to system apps because I used to do that all the time in the past to theme apps before the theme engines came along, but I have never signed an app with a different key so I don't know what that means. Going to have to do some searches to see if I can figure out how to do it.

Google Play Store on cm-10.1-20140216-NIGHTLY-everest

Hi guys,
I hope somebody has tried this already (Xoom 1, 3G). I've had many issues with latest releases (the tablet was waaaaaayyy too slow) so I decided to find something a bit lighter, even if older.
I'm happy with the end results after installing cm-10.1-20140216-NIGHTLY-everest. I've also installed the gapps linked to the 10.1 version I have but Google Play Store is just not there! I've also tried to download a few .apk's with 0 luck. They either crush or just give me server errors etc.
Anybody who can shed some light or give me a suggestion how to proceed further here?
Cheers
Ok, I swear I did search for like hours. 10 minutes after posting this I found this other post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2084236
I fixed the problem with it. I'm backing it up now.
Cheers
