Stock Lollipop or ResurrectionRemix or Any other custom ROM?

Hey there!
I'm pretty new here. Anyway, I was wondering if I should go ahead with installing the stock Lollipop update for Zenfone 5 or should I use a custom ROM, say, ResurrectionRemix? I've been checking on this for a while now and found out that the Stock Lollipop ROM has battery and heating issues whereas ResurrectionRemix has GPS, FM and slight stability issues. Also, camera not working after unlocking bootloader seems to be a common issue. So I'm not sure which one to install. I love both the interface and style anyway, though I've always had a thing for the native Adroid Lollipop style.. Could you also suggest some other nice ROMs out there?
If you want to try something new, go for Custom ROMs.

Custom ROM = root?

After a long love affair with the Galaxy phones I gave up on Samsung and recently switched from my locked down AT&T GS5a to the Pure and have already unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP.
Looking through the threads about rooting the Pure with 6.0 it seems a bit troublesome and convoluted with people loosing wifi or boot-looping.
In my experience with Samsung, custom roms have been pre-rooted but they used to mention it someplace in the first post. Has it just become the standard and no longer mentioned? Am I safe to assume that I can flash away now to my hearts content and have a rooted phone unless I flash a back to stock?
The custom ROMs all have root.
All of the CM and AOSP based ROMs either include a built-in su daemon that you can toggle in developer settings or flash supersu as part of their install.
The only stock based custom ROM is trupure, and it is prerooted.

ROM recommendations please.

Hi All,
Just wanting some recommendation on which Custom ROM to use if I want to use my I9505 mainly for gaming (emulation). Currently it is stock running 4.4.2 as it failed to install the OTA update.
I have managed to install TWRP onto it.
I have looked into LineageOS 14.1 but I have read that the battery suffers a lot (only lats a couple of hours apparently?) not sure if this is true though. As I want to use this for gaming ideally I would like this to last as long as possible without compromising performance.
Many thanks

Although ROM suggestions isn't recommended here, but best gaming experience is in stock ROM or stock based ROMs like wanam's ROM..., it would become better if there is a kernel with GPU and CPU OC..

Pros & Cons to go Custom Rom

Since 1+3, I did not have the need to root and install custom ROMs on the devices. I have passed on the 3 & 3T to my wife and daughter. They also don't see the reason to root and use custom ROMs. On 1+5, with all the updates, what would be the key motivator for custom roms? I do like customizable rom and ability to freshen up when bored. Majority of custom ROMs features I don't even use on daily basis. I did put RR rom on my 1+1 and it's really nice. Just not snappy with less Ram. Just trying to see what experts here feel about it? Any inputs are greatly appreciated!
Im still on stock, but would root it for sure, for 2 reasons, viper and adblock.
Custom roms are useful, when you dont have the official update rolling out for new versions of android.
As of now OP5 runs on 7.1.1, so thats good enough.
I root and add TWRP, titanium backup and add block on my phones with out question. Also for certain apps I need to push to system like a no add YouTube APK. I'm still on stock ROM with stock kernel but sometimes use custom kernels. The stock OOS ROM basically has just about everything I look for in a custom ROM as it is. So did me, no need for custom ROMs and this is the first ever phone I haven't put a custom ROM on, at least not yet.

Best ROM/Kernel combination for an old S5?

Recently my phone broke. I found my old S5 (G900M, Snapdragon) in the garage and installed Lineage on it.
I'm pretty sure there's something terribly wrong with the battery. In use, it goes from 100% to 0% in an hour, and a bunch of apps have glitches. Not to mention that it's slow when browsing with FIrefox, and it likes to crash Firefox a lot.
So, I'm hoping that changing roms will make it better in some way.
But I also didn't do any research before installing Lineage, and I didn't install any kernel. I just installed Lineage because it's the one I know, I don't even know if running a newer android version and/or AOSP rom has advantages or disadvantages.
In an old thread, I heard that a stock, deodexed and debloated MM rom and the Boeffla kernel is the best way to go, and I had my eye on vincom's SuperLite MM Rom (still no idea on what kernel to use),
But I'd really like to have TwiFucker and I THINK it only supports LSposed, which requires Android 8.1 minimum.
I'm also used to having Magisk as the root, but that's a minor issue.
I'm accepting any and all suggestions, even if it's to stay on Lineage.
I'm also accepting suggestions of what governor to use, although I don't know what that is at all.
Please do link your recommendations though.
Thank you in advance!
