Hey guys. I just got LG G6 H870 model. Unlocked bootloader without much problems, but issues came later. While being in bootloader I can't do anything, hardware buttons seem to not work. The only way to get out of bootloader is to use "fastboot reboot" command, but that prevents me from getting into custom recovery after flashing it. Only entering download mode works (holding volume up and plugin in usb cable). Non other key combination work until I boot into system.
Can this issue be somehow resolved?
I had similar problem myself with entering recovery more and the reason behind it was that I didn't press the button combo in proper way. what you actually have to do is while you in fastboot mode you press down and hold power button and volume down button. phone reboots after a moment and you should still be holding these keys and when lg logo appears you let go of power button for brief second and then press it back again and then when a prompt on white screen appears just go yes two times and phone shall boot in recovery mode . I had watch a tutorial movie to figure that out. other easy way is just to have adb enabled and reboot it with adb reboot recovery command via USB cable

No, because I had G5 and I know the proper way to do that. Problem is I can hold the power button as long as I live and the phone won't reboot, regardless of pressed combination or power button solo.
and the adb command way ?
Well... Nevermind, turns out vol down button isn't working at all.
still good way around is adb reboot recovery

Hi
I rooted my nexus 10 some months ago. All worked fine until yesterday. I wanted to go back to original firmware and used the WUGs nexus root toolkit to download 4.4.3 version and flash it. But afterwards the tablet doesnt boot anymore. Google logo appears and then the circle thing never goes away. I searched many threads, and all base on going into fastboot and flash again, but thats the problem. I cant get into fastboot. The usual combination (Power and vol+ and vol-) doesnt work! I tried many other combinations with different timings, longer press only vol+ and power ...., I always get to google logo after it vibrates.
Is there any other way to get into the fastboot mode ?
Can I connect it to the computer and interrupt the boot process when I switch it on via the PC?
thanks in advance
regards
Erich
Try to connect it to PC with original usb cable and run "adb devices".
If you see Nexus device, you can try "adb reboot recovery" and upload a ROM to /sdcard with "adb push" for flash it.
Hi
Thanks for your relpy.
But thats the problem, even if I could upload a file with adb, which is not working, how would I flash it if I cant get into fastboot or recovery mode ???
thanks anyway
regards
Erich
I think what patzzz is saying is that it depends on your bootloop, often is the case that when someone is in a bootloop the kernel does initiate and adb is functional. Not always but at times for sure.
So if so you can attempt
adb reboot recovery
Or
adb reboot bootloader
If the above doesn't work than you will have to continue trying to boot to bootloader manually with key presses (which I believe is power on while holding volume down)
Best of luck!
Hi
Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately it doesnt work. It made a batch file which calls adb devices and adb reboot bootloader in a loop, so it can send it to the device if it is found, but the tablet isnt regonized, tried some reboots and no luck, adb cant find it )))-:

It seems a brick, but you can try using fastboot command instead of adb:
Code:
fastboot devices
fastboot reboot-bootloader

I suggest you do a factory reset from the stock. You have gone back to stock firmware so you should have stock recovery. I had this happen once and this work for me.
Hi
I will try it with fastboot too, maybe it works....
How can I do a factory reset without recovery mode ?
thanks

1.If your tablet is on, turn it off.
2.Press & hold the Power, Volume Up, and Volume Down buttons at the same time for several seconds. You'll see the word "Start" with an arrow drawn around it.
3.Press the Volume Down button twice to highlight Recovery mode.
4.Press the Power button to start Recovery mode. You'll see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation point and the words "No command."
5.While holding down the Power button, press the Volume Up button.
6.Use the volume buttons to scroll to "Wipe data/factory reset," then press the Power button to select it.
7.Scroll down to "Yes - erase all user data," then press the Power button to select it.
>>2.Press & hold the Power, Volume Up, and Volume Down buttons at the same time for several seconds. You'll see the word "Start" with an arrow drawn around it.
Thats the problem, it doesnt work! Tried it a dozent times, only Google logo appears.....

was trying to root my lg stylo 2 Walmart family mobile(t-mobile) and i unlocked the bootloader and installed twrp but it just says no command when i boot into recovery.
Then you didn't flash the recovery properly, it's fairly simple. If you're able to get fastboot (shut off the phone totally, hold Volume Down and plug in the USB cable attached to a computer, it should go into fastboot mode almost instantly, if not then there's an issue someplace).
After that using fastboot with the recovery img file for TWRP:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery (recovery_file).img
Wait, if it says flashing successful then before you do anything else, type the following:
Code:
fastboot reboot (but do NOT press Enter yet)
Get the phone in your hand, still connected to the USB cable, and get your fingers on the Volume Down + Power button but don't put them just yet. Carefully tap the Enter key with a pinky or something to trigger the device reboot, press and hold Volume Down + Power till you see the LG logo, let Power go for a split second (still holding Volume Down) then press Power again and hold it till TWRP loads.
If that doesn't work - and I've done that hundreds of times - there's something going on with your device, perhaps the bootloader isn't truly unlocked - that checkbox in Developer Options doesn't mean it's unlocked, it just means it can be.

there's a video tutorial floating around here somwhere
I tried unrooting my 6T and something went wrong. Now when it boots it shows the bootloader unlocked warning then goes to black screen and stops. It will randomly vibrate when I press the screen or the power button. My computer doesn't recognize it and I can't even seem to be able to turn it off completely. The only thing I can get it to do is reboot by pressing and holding the power and volume up buttons.
Any advice on how I can force it into fastboot or get my computer to recognize it so I can working on it?

Keep pressing simultaneously volume up , volume down and power button all three of them until you get the fastboot screen.
It maybe takes a while...

like the first answer:
hold vol up, vol down and power butten as long as the phone boots into fastboot mode and flash fastboot Rom OR
hold vol up and vol down for about 5-6 seconds, and plug your phone to your computer. if it gets recognized (with typical sound of windows) try msm tool. And be sure you have the qualcomm driver installed.
Got a broken power button and need to turn on your OnePlus X?
As long as one of your volume buttons and your microUSB port still work, you're lucky.
If the volume down button is working:
1. Press and hold the volume down button.
2. Connect to a USB power source.
3. The phone should vibrate and boot into the recovery. You can release the volume button at that point.
4. If you have the stock OnePlus recovery installed just tap "English", "Exit" (if present), then "Reboot".
5. Your phone should now boot up!
If only the volume up button is working, things get a bit tricky.
Before you start, read through all of the steps and the paragraph below to make sure this goes as smooth as possible.
1. Connect your device to a USB power source without pressing any button.
2. Wait for about half a second, then press and hold the volume up button.
3. If you've hit the right moment, your device will boot to fastboot mode.
4. Connect to a PC and run the command "fastboot reboot".
(If you don't know what fastboot is or you haven't set it up yet you should be able to find plenty of guides online.)
A word of caution on finding the right moment to hit the volume button:
Start with longer delays and work from there. If you hit the volume up button too early the phone will enter EDL mode, which can be hard or annoying to get out of. EDL is Qualcomm's low-level Emergency Download Mode which allows flashing the device.
When entering EDL mode the phone won't vibrate and the screen will stay off. The phone remains in EDL mode after disconnecting the USB plug.
Normally you could press and hold the power button until a hard reset to get out of there, but in this case you have the following options:
- Unplug the battery to power down the device completely if your device happens to be open.
- Wait? For as long as it takes for your device to reset from this mode on its own or for the battery to run out. idk, good luck.
- Use an EDL mode flashing tool on a PC to send the power reset command to your device. This could be viable if you have already used such a tool before, e.g. by following the "Mega UnBrick Guide" by Naman Bhalla. Alternatively you could dive into this cross platform command-line tool, which works on WIndows, Linux and macOS. Using this approach is a bit overkill and quite the tangent from what you're actually trying to do, but being able to make use of EDL can come in handy in other situations as well when you're tinkering with your Android device so taking that detour might just be worth the time.
Awesome, it worked for me.
-Incase you have entered into EDL mode, then continue charging your mobile, it will be back to old state after sometime (12 hours maybe).
- To get fastboot mode, first insert power cable then wait for vibration/ screen light illumination after that press volume up button. if you press volume up button before inserting power cable, then it will go to EDL mode, so be careful about it.
Hello i am trying to root my 1year old heavy used phone . I am Stuck at the very first step.
Also it should be mentioned that it got a little bit wet by rain someday and then the volume down button was stuck (not mechanicly) it forced the volume setting to zero and had no sound.
I soft reset it . Than no change. had a hard time getting into recovery but i finally got there somehow i dont remember how.
Then hard reset it.No change....
After one day the volume key fixed itself and everything is working fine.
now after one month i was curious if i could root it. But i am not able to get into bootloader state.
I tried everything.
Debug options and oem bootloader unlock switch enabled, usb debugging enabled.
Usb adb says no permission (serial n visible)
Entering Recovery mode at power off state by
Pressing vol up and power button gets normal boot everytime but much faster logo visible at about 3sec.
pressing power + vol down = it takes 25sec
Booting normal .. and the same happens when pressing both vol keys.
I am releasing the keys at zte logo visible everytime
Something was strange : one time when i was trying something it bootlooped 3 times and then it was safe mode.
could there something in the volume button be broken? but the button work fine. I dont know.
Thanks for reading
update:
ok the permissions was a linux issue(start the adb-daemon with su), i can use adb now on this phone,
i can boot it in recovery now, but cant boot into bootloader
adb reboot bootloader leads to normal boot
in recovery, the reboot into bootloader option also normal boot
