Hi, how are you doing?
I bought a mi a1 (red edition, 32 gb) and i'm experiencing two issues:
The one i'm most concerned is that, when using the camera (And sometimes playing videos on chrome) i get these flashes, like black bars, exactly as this video shows:
Can't post links, the youtube title is "Xiaomi Mi A1 Oreo bug: Camera black flickering/blinking"
I've already factory reseted my phone, i don't know if this is a common software issue or if it's a hardware one.
The other issue is that i have an stuck pixel, it's annoying but i don't think it can be fixed, sadly.
The phone right now is clean, stock launcher, no root, nothing (Never rooted)
Thanks, looking forward to your answers.
Hi, i had the same problem until March update, where i'm sure at 100% that it has been solved.
What firmware version are you running?
I'm using the April firmware, it mostly happen when the colors suddenly change, like changing the exposition in the camera or playing a video in a white background (for example, i play a game that the ads are full white and there is a video playing in the top, in that scenario the black flashes appear.)
Side question, is there a 32GB variant? Official only list 64GB only
I thought the same, apparently there is
I have the 64GB version and I have the same problem.
I have the same bug (red, 64 gb), using stock april

Hi guys, recently i read a thread in here about missing pixels on the camera and saw some pictures of other peoples pixel faults.........
I didnt notice mine until i read that thread abd suddenly i had 15 on my screen, and for an xda exec that was about 3 weeks old, i thought .. . . thats typical that this would happen to such a cool device.
I realised i was on the newest test IMATE rom and it was playing up, so i was going to downgrade anyway.... i thought that rom might be the cause..
I downgraded to the latest Orange rom, (its an o2 device) and low and behold, the missing pixels are back........ not one missing pixel/white dot.
anyone know why this might have happened with switching roms????

I'm confused. You say the missing pixels are back (but don't say whether they ever went), and then you go on to say, "not one missing pixel". So, have they gone or not?
My suspicion is that the bulk of the camera pixel problems reported are hardware related, and firmwares will make no difference, although there are reports that the latest ROMs do have a negative effect on the camera.
Cheers,
Steve.
While wifi is on and active, stock camera app gives white and black vertical lines
Even video gets those lines as well, but 3rd party camera app works fine such as Camera Zoom FX.
Anyone else suffering this bug?
These pictures are captured from Video..

Note 3 SM_N9005
Hi, I just picked up my Note3 SM-N9005 from Malaysia.
I get vertical lines while taking video in low light and sometimes in normal light condition. This only happens while downloading or uploading via Wifi .
I just would like to know, if this is hardware or software issue? So please try to take a video while downloading or uploading anything via Wifi or just deactivate and activate while shooting.and tell me what happens.
thank you,

Same here.
Squiggly vertical lives when recording video.
I just recorded this while uploading another video to YouTube via Wi-Fi. I have a U.S. S-800 N3.
Only happens on the stock camera app. Use a different app.
Also, try clearing the cache and data of the stock app.

I have returned and not bothered getting another one
Note 3 camera bug
Reservin,
You're definitely not alone with this particular bug. I'm currently in correspondence with Samsung regarding the issues.
If this is not resolved satisfactorily, then I shall be getting a refund.
In fact, they are sending a courier to pick up my unit very soon for testing!

I'm having the same problem with my Note 3.
Factory reset does nothing, and I think it doesn't happen in airplane mode. Downloading a large file with Wifi or 3G does not affect it. Installing some apps like "Moves" seem to make it happen more frequently. Might be CPU related? I'm getting mine replaced tomorrow, as the unit is only one day old. I will report if that one has the same problem now that I know what to look for.
Can't post links as I usually just lurk, but I think these can be figured out:

Little update:
I took the Note 3 back to the store and exchanged it to newer one. First this one worked perfectly, but after couple OTA system updates they started to appear again. I'm hopeful this is software related issue.

I had the same issue first time when using camera in low light condition (nordic firmware).
The problem got solved by itself after restarting the device and now two days after still havent seen the lines.
I had seen similar problem on old lcd and tft monitors when they are exposed on high frequency waves. Not sure that there is connection between them and the camera on Note 3.

Thanks man. I disabled Wifi, like was suggested and no problemo, when Wifi is off. No lines, video recording works fine. But after turning Wifi back on, problem is back. By the way I'm using too nordic firmware (I live in Finland). Few days ago I rooted my Note 3 with De la Vega method (works fine, Knox 0 etc), so my first idea was, that this is something to do with that, but this problem existed before I did it. Looked videos, that I made before rooting and these horizontal lines are there. But only in home made videos. And when I'm at home, my Wifi is always turned on. So I'm almost 100 % sure, that this problem is related to Wifi somehow. Did you updated your device already with newest firmware? Maybe fix is in new update? Because of that root I didn't update myself, so I'm using still MJ1 firmware.

Same thing happen to me when I take video whole connected to wifi. I guess there's some wifi interference while taking the video. Don't think that it is a hardware issue.
No issue when taking video on 3g network.

Hi Atsco,
I also live in Finland (Kirkkonummi) and bought my Note 3 from Verkkokauppa/Helsinki. It was with MJ1 firmaware and I update it to MJ2. Currently using the stock one with Nova launcher. The only description of the update was "Improved stability" . I can't confirm that the problem vanished after the update, but as I don't experience it any more there is probability this update to fix this defect.
I Have ONE Plus 2, I am facing a problem taking a picture at night, as i set focus and click capture, the flash works well and after the picture captured, screen goes black. please help me to solve this issue, i need to restart my phone and then it behaves normal, or i need to move in brighter area to make my camera behave normal..
Seems to be a bug, there are a few threads about this on the one plus forums. I complained about it too. The good news is if you flash hydrogen the problem goes away meaning it's only software not hard ware. Of course with that we have to wait till its patched.

I've got the same issue awaiting for it to be cleared in new version of OS
I have been using the Moto X PE for three weeks now. I have the 16GB version from Amazon. I got this phone after getting a refund from a Nexus 6 that had a pink tint on the screen. However, this phone also seems to have some issues. When I close recent apps one by one, it shows extreme lag. When I change the brightness to max I can see a series of lines going down the screen. A lot of times apps randomly shut down, but that might just be poor coding. The screen is also a little bit yellow but I heard it is normal. Also, I can spot random black lines on the edges of the screen when using Google Chrome. Sometimes I can even see small parts of picture on the side of the screen as I browse the web. Is anybody having similar issues? I was thinking of getting a refund and buying the 32GB version and maybe that would fix these issues. Or maybe the Marshmallow update will fix these issues? I am even thinking of getting the Nexus 6P if I have to keep dealing with these issues.
Tbh, I also have noticed a few of these. The lag in the recent, yep, haven't noticed the issue at max brightness, no yellow, and I think I have noticed once where I could see a small part of picture on the very edge of the screen, can't remember if it was in chrome or not... I prob won't t return it tho. With the selection of phones available right now, I'll keep this. I love nexus phones but don't want either the 5x or 6p. Wont own a one plus phone. Note 5 is great, touchwiz is trash.. I'll just hope MM improves things. I seen it was announced some devices are getting the update so we will see. I know there are some probs but when u consider everything, this phone for the price is really good. I'm keeping it.

I love my Moto X PE, I'm starting to find easy fixes to some of the issues. There's an app called "Screen Balance" that fixed my yellow tint. I will wait for the Marshmallow Update to see if everything else is fixed.
Cool. I did update to mm(rooted) and the recents lag is 100% fixes. I did recently experience the series of lines going down the screen, they were white, Kinda blurred the whole screen, but it was just the one time, a reboot fixed it and hasn't happened since. Also haven't experienced the problems people have had with notifications sounds. I have had the cracking or poping of the speakers, but seems MM also fixed that. Things are much better imo, hbu? Have you upgraded to mm?
Also are u rooted? I just assume bec we are on xda that every roots their phone but I guess not.

Glad to hear that Marshmallow Update will fix these issues. I'm currently returning my Moto X PE 16 GB for a 32 GB that's on discount on Amazon for $50. I'm not rooted because I already enjoy the stock Android experience.

I use screen balance too but i think turning off adaptive brightness itself improves the yellow tint thing.. it doesn't sound logical but seemed to work for me recently..
Hello guys, I'm new on Mi 9t, I have it since one month now.
I'm running 11.0.5 global (waiting for miui 12) and everything is working smootly (a part some heating problems and battery drain).
Yesterday I noticed a BIG strange spot on the right side of the display only when I have a black/dark theme (for example on Telegram) and when brightness/light around the phone is low.
I tried to googled it but I didn't find anything useful and still don't understand if it's software or hardware. I just get that is a common issue of AMOLED screen but in 2020 I don't get how this is not fixable lol.
Any suggest?
Thanks in the advance and I wish you a happy day!
Nope, every AMOLED is like that. Tested even on the S10 plus. No worries
