Emui is getting better and better.. Just love emui 8.1
EMUI it's just horrible, bloated with tons of Huawei apps which one could understand, but why can't I disable/uninstall even Google apps makes no sense
also missing customization options as custom color LED notifications per app (if it's not built in within app you can't change color) or no edge gestures, you have FP gestures, floating button and virtual navbar, but there is no Last app switch with FP gestures and also Back button FP gsture has no haptic feedback, swiping left/right on FP it's often confused with Back button if you move finger a bit
also especially now with Notch taking space EMUI waste tons of space with VoLTE icons, two signal icons and all icons in status bar extremely small hard to read, why not make them bigger and whatever make status bar 0.5mm higher
Felt happy after observing that EMUI 8.1 is moving closer to AOSP and away from IOS cloning.
EMUI is the user interface that comes on installed Honor and Huawei phones. EMUI features Huawei Home, phone manager, themes, media apps, and is heavily baked in to the entire system UI. While EMUI has a lot of great features to offer (Screen recording, gesture controls, camera app ect.) many people have serious complaints about it.
For a long time, EMUI has been considered one of the more negative aspects of getting an Honor or Huawei device. Over the years EMUI has evolved to be much better and now hosts a great selection of valuable features.

The extra features are great. But the looks, could be better. Fix the notifications DPI please!
It is nice ! but yes the notification DPI needs really to be decreased ! it is so big.
Nice display but yes, notification DPI neeeeeeds to be decreased. My grandma could read my notifications without her glasses on. Texts are so big and inconsistent across apps and notifications. Also decrease lockscreen DPI spotify next button overlaps with album artwork.
I actually like EMUI. Skins are something I love about Android and I enjoy seeing each manufacturer's take on how things should be.
EMUI is much, much better than LG's and HTC's skin. Especially HTC. Their skin has barely changed since the one series.

And I love colorful themes of MIUI.
Sent from my MIX 2S using Tapatalk
Great and can easily make it look close to stock Android through the theme app.
BUT!!! it has been only like forever, that EVERYONE is asking MIUI to have an independant volume control level for the Ringtone, and the Message (notification) tone.
Why in gods name would you want to have them locked as one sound level. On most roms, you can choose to unbridge or bridge the two.
Cheers,

+1000!!!!
I find MIUI pretty average.
The settings menu is a bit of a mess.
The gestures are pretty good but it's hard to not launch google while trying to launch multitask or home.
I'm not really fond of MIUI colors, it honestly feels that is doesn't have a proper identity and do not feel consistent enough (the blue/white theme isn't always respected) and it lacks a real highlight color (well there is an yellow-ish orange color that can be found often but i'm not sure if this is the highlight color).
The theme app is not available in EU so I have to change region every time i want to change a theme (which is slightly annoying)
And finally i'm not a fan of the applications groups/folder the scrolling feels a bit weird (I preferred the pager like EMUI); Same for the multitasking.
One good things about those default is that they might not exist anymore soon, Xiaomi does a lot of software update and really works their UI. From the few I've seen MIUI 10 will be more consistent in it's design and will improve it's multitasking. Furthermore the 'Theme' app will probably come to EU soon.
So overall, coming from EMUI, I'm a bit disappointed. But the facts that there is a lot of improvement done by Xiaomi and that devices who are more than 4 years old (such as MI3) are still updated makes choosing MIUI a perfectly viable choice. I can't wait to see which path MIUI will take.

New interface is good, but I was looking for a fullscreen version I dont wanna see the navbar, then why not fullscreen immersive experience, as I see most of the phones even redmi offers it..
Waiting for this update.
Vanilla Android, what more can you say
Not sure about the Android 9 swipe stuff. Coming from 7.1, I am missing the app drawer icon and recent apps button. I'm sure I will get used to it, but change for change's sake is not needed.

Not sure it will come soon. In the meantime, you can try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fb.fluid
It seems it does what you're looking for, I've been using it for the last month with no trouble.
Thanks for the suggestion, I will be trying out for sure, however with spilt pill and 6T setup in navbar by xda, I feel pretty comfortable ...
Thanks mate..

Stock android with a little biit of moto magic. Much as I get that folk like different skins from other manufacturers, I am pure vanilla android and this is a spot on phone for that.
There are a couple of pre-installed apps that you can remove such as facebook and google podcast.

Does it have the normal Android 10 gestures from pixel / other manufacturers or the ugly pill still?
I miss some things from my old phone (Huawei P9). EMUI had numbers on notifications, dual apps, themes and you could customize the navigations buttons (I use the back button on the right).

I'm a first-time user coming from lawnchair. I decided to give One UI a shot.
This is my list of disadvantages compared to other launchers:
Lack of support for custom icon packs / icon shapes without using themes, which requires an account
You can't hide applications from the application drawer without also hiding them from the home screen. I don't want duplicate icons in the app drawer that are already accessible on the home screen
Sorting the apps alphabetically does not include application groups; they are placed in front of the alphabetically sorted list of apps
I dislike the jumpy icons when closing an app
I will most likely return to lawnchair as launcher.
I would like to have a colored icon in the status bar like in Android 2.3
The rest is why I choose Samsung )
