Hello Team
i am stuck on Boot Loop after flashing V12A Rom using LGUP(with Patched DLL)
Last working rom was VS995-17A (non-rooted)
I successfully flashed V13A and V17A rom but no profit
tried UPDATE & PARTION DL modes
I tried US996 10F rom with LGUP - rom boots up but force closes in 10 seconds with errors com.android FC
My bootloader is locked - (checkd with fastboot getvar command)
I still have a working download mode

so your bootloader was looked when you tried to "update" rom?
if so thats your issue. you can try to connect to pc and put phone in fastboot mode and unlock bootloader.

No they cant. Fastboot oem unlock only works with the T-mobile variant (unlock works without a key but is missing flash commands) and the us unlocked us996 can unlock by flashing a key from lg but can actually flash roms.
@uccfar is using the term rom when meaning stock firmware, and if this didnt happen when rooted or trying to root it could easily be a hardware issue.

Hi guyz, i've a little problem here.
I've to Lock my bootloader. Now i did it several times, with different tools too. Now:
If i use correct droidboot version (lollipop one) and flash it, the bootloader is not (secure), so not locked.
But if i try with a tool and it flashes the KK fastboot, it works, it's relocked.
Can you tell me why? Thanks!

Seems the Lollipop fastboot doesn't have the signature check that kitkat fastboot has.
But, even you can flash custom files with locked bootloader and lollipop fastboot, the system don't boot, stucks at USB logo, so it means the bootloader is locked.

Yes, I tested in my phone, flashed custom kernel with locked bootloader and fastboot from Lollipop .87, flash sucessfully, but when I try to boot... USB logo.
Only KitKat fastboot has signature check.

Yes, same on my device. I think it's normal.
Yes, fastboot mode of lollipop firmware on ZenFone 5 / 6 is able to flash custom kernel / recovery, but it won't boot until bootloader unlocked.

Yeah. It would be really great if you help me out with
it.
What is that
If you want to flash a custom rom, you don't need to unlock bootloader for it.
You can flash custom recovery using fastboot mode, after which you can install custom roms.

I did the same method as you are telling. I was able to install twrp through fastboot successfully(without unlock the bootloader) and installed custom rom and gapps successfully too. But when I reboot my device after installation I stuck in boot logo every time. I waited more than 30mins but nothing happened. No matter which rom I tried but I had to face the same problem ?. I don't know how to get rid of this issue.
And also my twrp showing an error which is -failed to mount/factory (invalid argument).
I think this is the reason why I'm facing bootloop.

I also unlocked mine using the same method that you have used. And successfully unlocked my bootloader. Then I installed twrp using fastboot. But my twrp showing an error which is -failed to mount/factory (invalid argument).
Then I successfully installed custom rom and gapps ( I wiped cache after installation) but when I reboot my phone I stuck in boot logo. I waited more than 30mins but nothing happened.
I tried so many roms but had to face same problem.
Is the twrp errors the reason of my bootloop issue??

Refer to this asus zentalk link.
flash twrp again and make sure to keep your volume down button pressed before entering the "FASTBOOT REBOOT" command.
Clear ur data after flashing twrp, flash trustzone fix also if you're getting error 7, install ur desired custom rom. It should work!!
I did the same a couple of days ago, it worked for me.

To install ROM you need a unlocked bootloader , screw twrp for now.
Has anyone successfully relocked the bootloader on a A2017G? I've tried flashing various versions of Nougat and now with the new official Oreo and every time I try booting to bootloader (fastboot) the phone just boots into system. I'm on full stock system with stock recovery. I flashed a B12 EDL from LOS 15.1 to then update to the new Oreo.
Everything else works fine, the drivers are correct I simply just cannot access the bootloader, no matter which rom I flash.
Hi, on A2017G I succeeded with Axon 7 toolkit, option "bootloader lock"

I flashed a fastboot EDL unlock that I found here on XDA and then I managed to lock the bootloader with OEM lock. However, I bricked my phone and couldn't boot into OS but it wasn't a big issue since I just flashed a B12 EDL afterwards and from there got an OTA update to Oreo with the bootloader locked.
I came back from LOS 16.0. Flashed A2017G_B10_NOUGAT_FULL_EDL in EDL but there's a warning that my bootloader is locked. I wanted to relock it but the warning prevents me from entering bootloader or fastboot (or maybe they are not even present....). Next I flashed A2017U_FASTBOOT_UNLOCK_EDL in MiFlash but it did not do anything. It flashed OK but I still cannot access fastboot. Should I flash some marshmallow rom? Thanks in advance.
I have the same problem. Cannot enter fastboot mode on Nougat ROM.
Ok I found the way usin Axon 7 Toolkit
1. Set the Android version to 7 using option 13
2. Perform unlock bootloader
Following instruction Axon & Tookit gives you EDL image of the proper fastboot partition giving the possibility to enter fastboot mode
then fasboot oem lock
I wanted to say thanks that works, but apparently my phone is bricked now - it hangs on green ZTE logo. PC recognizes it as DFU. Cannot enter EDL either. I guess I look for some guide how to recover from this situation
Managed to fix that. Somehow I was able to enter fastboot. It said my bootloader was locked so i flashed TWRP and from TWRP using ADB installed stock Nougat rom

Hi,
I am having a problem trying to relock my bootloader.
i am selling my g4, so needed to remove my custom rom, flash stock and relock my bootloader.
I downloaded and flashed via twrp the stock 8.1 ROM on the g4 plus page. ( stock rom in twrp format)
That went fine.
Then I booted into fastboot , and entered fastboot lock command fastboot oem lock
It said the android image was not valid?
So I then entered fastboot flashing lock
it rebooted fine to the stock android , but now the bootloader warning says ''your device has loaded a different operating system'', and thens boots 8.1.
DO you think I should go back anf flash stock rom ( not a twrp flashable version), using fastboot commands, ending with 'fastboot oem lock' ?
Just dont want to brick it, as it is now sold!
Many Thanks for any help
pootler
P.S. the TWRP I am using is a custom one ( i think )

Use LMSA flash rescue option if you have a Windows machine
(Lenovo) MOTO Smart Assistant (PC)

THanks for the reply.
Strange, thought I had already updated this
I went back to stock firmware and decided to flash with fastboot all individual files.
At some point, I got the same ''verification failed' but the command line suggested flashing system, boot, and ( something else, cant remember) again.
i did this this, and this time, no errors occured, and I had a complete install, with a locked bootloader, and no bootloader warning screen.!
Yay - result
Thanks again for your advice - I will remember it for the future.
