so this is with my 1.5 years old rusty moto g4 plus XT1643. It got powered off last night because it ran out of battery, usually I keep charging it up so it doesn't power off. The reason is it's power button is broken, doesn't do anything when clicked.
So, is there anyway I can boot it back up with PC or adb or with some other magic tricks you guys might know. Please help! ray:

No. You need the power button to power it on. Sadly but true.

Keep volume - key pressed and plug charger, try with both volume keys, one combination will boot it into bootloader and then you can use "fastboot reboot" command to boot it.

You need to plug and press vol- key at same time. If you press vol- key before and then plug, it will not work..
Keep pressing volume down button and then plug it in charger or pc usb. It will then start-up in bootloader.
It works with my Moto G4 PLus

I think my Z1 is really dead.
The phone is stuck on logo screen and gets very hot. The battery fails from full in less than 1 hour. No button combinations will work for reboots to recovery or fastboot and I cannot switch it off (Just reboots to logo screen every time)
I can ADB to the phone but not fastboot. If I adb reboot recovery I get a messed up corrupted screen with green vertical lines and flashing colours. Same for adb reboot bootloader (but only green vertical lines)
I searched around but no-one has this exact problem. I have tried QFIL but I can't get a port as adb reboot edl looks like it goes to the same corrupted screen and nothing happens
So is the phone dead or do you have any suggestions? Any help appreciated
Bro i recommend you to try pressing power button and both volume buttons at a time so you could go to recovery mode.If u try normal recovery process buttons at this time won't work.

Ok first thing try pressing both volume buttons and power button for 10 sec at a time. And as soon as the phone restarts leave the power button and press both the volume buttons after the vibration to go to recovery. If that doesnt work then use adb commands to restart it.

Finally had some time to look at this and amazingly that works (holding the 3 buttons). I thought I had tried every button combination going. Rebooting by adb didn't work either before. So thanks

Hello everyone. Huawei P9 Lite 2016. It doesn't go into Recovery, nor eRecovery and Fastboot also does not load, in general, not one combination of buttons does not work. I think the system is removed, what should I do? How do I achieve something myself?
Well, if your phone is unable to go into fastboot (hold volume- and plug it into a computer), I have some very bad news for you... What did you do??

Nothing at all.. It had very strong lags, I couldn't make anything, I restarted it delaying the power button for 10 seconds and so several times, and then made through the buttons hard reset, performed successfully, already turned on but still had so strong lags and now it isn't react at all, just a black screen and the red indicator is constantly on. I think that simply the system has been deleted and it is necessary to write down again, but how, the combination of buttons doesn't work at all

Yes, but the sense of that? It's necessary to work with buttons and not one combination of buttons doesn't work. Hisuite asks me to click on the power button and on the volume down button but nothing happens it doesn't go in Fastboot mode or in Recovery nor in eRecovery.

Yes. It makes nothing. Black screen and red indicator always.
Do you still have warranty on it? If you did not even unlock bootloader, then try to send it in for a warranty repair. Something on the motherboard must have gone bad..

I don't think so.No matter how greedy or paranoid a developer is they have to include a recovery mode in order to flash OTAs and do stuff when the phone is offline.

I got the clue, you have to do it twice !
Take a look at this tutorial Nokia 6 fix no command
First, you have to plug in a usb cable (of a charger) to the phone and quickly press Vol + and power button to get into the Download mode. Then again press Vol + and power button AND (most important all) press the HOME button, then you will get the Recovery menu !
Hi Blerg,
No home button on the phone.
After unlocking my bootloader i just rebooted it to flash twrp. But it did'nt rebooted. While connecting to PC, it show
Qualcomm HS- USB QDLoader - 9008 (COM 8)
i can't reboot or exit edl
please help?
i also tried msm download.
but after 16s it showing "Sahara Communication error"
I had the same thing happen to me with the msm download tool connection. Try to hold down the power button and volume down or up for a good 30 seconds. One of those combinations worked for me to make the device boot. Just a suggestion. Hope it helps.
someone made a USB QDLoader - 9008 tool for PC to flash phone stuck in this mode it's on xda hope that helps it did for lg g5 I flashed a test kernel on

Power plus volume up till the phone shuts off then start over. Msm tool does this sometimes to me as well just restart it and the phone.
thanks everyone for their help. I tried the button combination too but it was'nt working.
Something silly worked. I left the phone for hours. The entire battery died. After connecting it just booted again.. its funny.
Now i think i should delete this thread.

I have also faced the same problem. I have tried all combination of keys to exit Edl mode without success.
The easiest way is disconnect the USB cable from PC/Laptop, connect the battery in case disconnected and connect to a power cable. Your mobile will start.

How long are you holding before giving up? You gotta hold that for a long time
Also make sure the phone is unplugged from the USB while holding
If there is sill no response it could be a dead battery. Plug it into the wall and let it charge for a while. Then unplug and press power, Vol +, and Vol - and hold it long. When you think it's been too long, keep holding.
It should take you to fastboot
hey! i have an samsung galaxy j3-j330FN (2017) i couldnt find the 2017 j3 from the forums so i went here but anyway the issue is that the phone is not letting me use custom OS or recovery even tho oem unlocking is enabled it only lets me do it the first time after reflashing stock os and then after power off it says only official roms are allowed to be flashed what could this mean? this phone did work normally before evne with twrp and root but not now? as far as im aware this phone doesnt require the bootloader to be unlocked it just needs it to be allowed according to many tutorials on youtube

1. Tick USB Debugging and OEM Unlock in Developer Mode (OEM has to be ticked to unlock the bootloader)
2. Connect to PC with USB Cable and open Odin
3. Power off and reboot into Download Mode (VOL.DOWN+HOME+POWER)
4. Add twrp.zip to AP tab
where is the unlock process????????????????????
Unplug phone and power off completely. Leave USB cable plugged into computer.
Wait at least 30 seconds
Hold both Volume buttons, do NOT press Power. Plug USB cable into phone.
Phone should start with a prompt. Follow the instructions on the screen for device unlock mode.

Okay...Try holding both Volume buttons + Home, then plug the USB cable in. Again, the phone has to be shut off completely - I do not mean turning off the screen.
If this doesn't work, try holding both Volume buttons + Home, and while holding them press Power until the device turns on.
If that still doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you. If OEM Unlocking is enabled in Developer Options, then one of these key combos should bring up a warning screen that gives you the option to either go into download mode, unlock the device, or cancel.

Once again, here's what you should try. OEM Unlocking must be enabled in Developer Options. Do not factory reset. Let me know what results you get with each suggestion. You must start with the device powered completely off.
Hold both Volume buttons, plug in USB cable
Hold both Volume buttons + Home, plug in USB cable
Hold both Volume buttons, press Power
Hold both Volume buttons + Home, press Power
One of these should work.
